Jan 2026 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The cam crankshaft failed. I was driving on the highway at a speed between 65-75 and my truck just cut off without any warning. Luckily, I was in far right lane and coasted over to the side of the road but it was very scary because I didn't control my truck at all. I called the nearest Chevrolet Dealership that was Kevin Whitaker and they give me the Chevrolet help contact phone and they sent a tow truck to pickup my truck about 1 hr later and I was stuck in my truck on the side of the road and I couldn't get out on the drive side because how close it was to oncoming traffic. Once I arrived at the dealership with my truck after asking the tow driver could I ride with him to the dealership. At the dealership they checked the truck with computerized device and the service advisor told me the truck code revealed cam shaft problems. I told him that I did see and warning sign saying low oil pressure once I tired to start up the truck again on the side of the road.

Jan 2026 ENGINE I have a 2024 Silverado with the L87 (6.2) engine. I brought in in for recall. After inspection the Chevrolet Service Center said it was good. They changed the oils to 0-W40 per the recall. On January 8, 2026 I was driving at 35 mph and the engine just stopped. I had it towed back to the Chevrolet Service Center and after diagnosis it was determined that the engine failed and has to be replaced which take a month or more.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE Engine safety concern. Grinding and clunking while engine is running and gets worse under load or when accelerating. Have taken into dealer for service over 6 times. Recall service was performed and their fix was to change to a thicker oil but all that caused was worse fuel economy, more expensive oil changes, and the noises have become worse. Going back to dealer next week for another attempt. Have requested lemon replacement with GM but they are denying any issue.

Jan 2026 ENGINE Vehicle: 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country Engine: 6.2L L87 V8 Recall: N252494001 – L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country related to NHTSA Safety Recall N252494001 (L87 Engine – Loss of Propulsion). My vehicle experienced a sudden engine failure consistent with the conditions described in the recall, resulting in loss of propulsion. Due to this failure, General Motors authorized a full engine replacement at an authorized GMC dealership. After the engine replacement was completed, the replacement engine also failed in the same manner as the original engine, again resulting in loss of propulsion. This second failure occurred despite the vehicle being repaired according to General Motors’ recall procedures and specifications. Loss of propulsion creates a significant safety risk, especially while driving at highway speeds or in traffic, as it can lead to sudden power loss without warning and increases the risk of a crash. Despite the replacement engine failing in the same way as the original recalled engine, General Motors is now refusing to replace the second failed engine or provide a permanent remedy. As a result, my vehicle remains unsafe to operate and unresolved under the existing safety recall. I am concerned that the recall remedy is inadequate and that replacement engines may also contain the same defect, creating an ongoing safety hazard. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter to determine whether the recall repair is effective and whether additional corrective action is necessary to protect vehicle owners.

Jan 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Vehicle does not indicate proper DEF level. Vehicle has stated several times that it is out of DEF but is not. The most recent time the vehicle was at a dealer and was noted as normal operation. Driving up to going the dealer: vehicle displayed message “DEF empty refill now vehicle speed restricted to 65mph”with a 500 mile count down. Vehicle was driven 489 miles of the 500 miles. Vehicle was taken to a dealer. Dealer confirmed that vehicle was not out of DEF, vehicle was at 40% DEF capacity (~2 gallons of fluid in a 5 gallon tank). Dealer noted that this was normal operation. This is not safe, the DEF system isn’t accurately reporting level. In other situations it hasn’t recognize DEF fills. This can potentially lead to the vehicle severely restricting speed or not allowing the motor to restart creating unsafe conditions for the passengers and other vehicles on the road way. Vehicle was under warranty at the time of the issues. Vehicle is currently just under 37,000 miles.

Dec 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Formal complaint — persistent, non-disableable Bluetooth transmitter in [2024 Chevy Silverado] / privacy & safety risk; request for remediation and recall assessment I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a safety and privacy defect in the infotainment/telematics system of my vehicle, a The unit runs Google Built-In / Android Automotive OS. This complaint documents technical evidence that the vehicle’s Bluetooth radio broadcasts a persistent, non-randomized MAC address and cannot be completely disabled via any user-accessible control. I request immediate remediation, a formal security assessment, and confirmation whether this condition will be remediated by firmware/OTA update or recall. Summary of the issue The infotainment unit’s Bluetooth adapter emits BLE advertisements that expose a static, permanent MAC address i.e ([AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF]) that does not change across power cycles and is visible to passive scanners while the vehicle is parked and otherwise idle. The vehicle provides no persistent user control to turn off the Bluetooth radio; menus do not disable the hardware radio. Attempts to disable Bluetooth via the system settings are ineffective. The static MAC and inability to disable the radio create an ongoing privacy and tracking risk: third parties can uniquely identify and track the vehicle across time and locations by logging the broadcasted identifier. This configuration is inconsistent with current industry cybersecurity & privacy guidance that recommends minimizing exposed identifiers, providing user control to disable wireless interfaces, and implementing randomization of wireless addresses when possible. The static MAC plus non-disableable radio constitutes a persistent, unique identifier broadcast in public spaces. This defeats reasonable efforts by consumers to limit tracking and to control their privacy.

Dec 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Formal complaint — outdated Android/Google Built-In security patch level on 2024 Chevy Silverado; potential cybersecurity defect and negligent maintenance by manufacturer. I am submitting a formal complaint regarding a critical cybersecurity and software maintenance defect in my 2024 Chevy Silverado. The vehicle runs Google Built-In / Android Automotive OS with an Android Security Patch Level of February 2024 (as displayed under Settings → About → Android version). As of this writing in December 2025, this patch level is nearly two years outdated, with no available over-the-air (OTA) updates and no clear communication from General Motors or Google regarding continued support or end-of-life status. This condition exposes the infotainment and telematics systems to known and documented vulnerabilities, representing both a cybersecurity defect and potential consumer safety. Description of the defect: The infotainment system reports “Android Security Patch Level: February 2024.” Attempts to check for updates return “Your system is up to date.” The system shows a red exclamation mark beside the patch level, indicating a fault condition or known update gap. Neither the dealer nor OnStar/Customer Support can apply an update manually or clarify the support cadence. This leaves the vehicle permanently exposed to Android-level vulnerabilities discovered and patched long after February 2024. Security and regulatory implications: The infotainment system runs a network-connected OS with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular, and vehicle bus access. Unpatched Android components are subject to hundreds of known CVEs since February 2024 — including privilege-escalation, RCE (remote code execution), and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi stack vulnerabilities. The U.S. NHTSA Cybersecurity Best Practices for the Safety of Modern Vehicles (2022 update) and ISO/SAE 21434 require that manufacturers maintain timely security updates for all connected vehicle systems.

Dec 2025 POWER TRAIN Truck was purchased Aug 2024 During first few months, I felt a shudder/vibration when either holding speed and/or slightly accelerating between 30-45 mph, usually at 1100-1300 RPM. Current Odometer 33,995 In the last month the truck has began to vibrate worse. I have a "Rumblestrip" feeling when at the same speeds. More noticeable on surface roads when following behind traffic at 30-45 mph. Generally the shudder is felt at approx. 1100-1300 RPM. Took the truck to the dealer yesterday, and they performed a quick roadtest. Service Tech was able to feel the rumble strip shudder multiple times, however their diagnostic tool only indicated a TCC Slip 2 times during a 20 min drive. The shudder/vibration happens when in "D". It is not present in "L9", or in "Tow Mode". The shudder feels worse in 4WD. If the shudder/vibration is happening, I am able to hold the speed and RPM at the current spot, the sensation is continuous and does not go away unless I accelerate or decelerate. I tend to feel it more when on an incline, and decelerating. As or right now the data has been sent to GM for diagnostic viewing. Found multiple TSB for issue with 2500/3500 models, and 1500 models from prior years. L84 Engine - 2024 Silverado 1500 RST

Dec 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER On [XXX], I [XXX] ) experienced the following issues with my new 2024, Chevrolet Silverado - 1500: • Front Windshield Wiper Washer Fluid not spraying/dispensing. • No messages or symbols displayed on the Driver Information Center dashboard indicating Windshield Wiper Washer Fluid Reservoir low/empty. • Inspected the reservoir that holds the fluid and did not observe low/empty. • Took it to the GM dealer 4 times and they were unable to repair. My vehicle has a recurring defect with the windshield washer system where the washer fluid does not dispense when activated. This issue occurred on a new vehicle and has persisted despite service attempts. When the washer fluid fails to spray, I am unable to clear dirt, dust, road debris, or moisture from the windshield while driving. This significantly reduces forward visibility, especially at freeway speeds or in conditions where debris from other vehicles hits the windshield. The inability to clear the windshield immediately creates a safety hazard because it can obstruct the driver’s line of sight and increase the risk of a collision. This issue is not cosmetic, it directly affects safe operation of the vehicle and the driver’s ability to maintain visibility during normal driving conditions. I am reporting this because the defect is ongoing and may affect other vehicles of the same model. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The radio cuts out which then kicks my cell phone off/navigations kicks off every few minutes. On one occasion the speedometer stopped. This cutting out makes it unsafe to drive because you are messing with the radio trying set up phone again or trying to get the navigation going again etc instead of paying attention to the road. over the past 1 plus years i have vearved off the road. i have had my truck in for repairs 7 times in 3 different dealerships. they have replaced the radio twice (found out later the 2nd time was a lie), a coaxial cables , and amplifier. i am told the same problem is happening on numbers GM vehicles and GM does not have a fix. I have requested my money back 3 times due to the safety of driving as is.. Gm have given me the run around all through it. they are aware of the problem but do not know how to fix. My third request did get addressed but was denied because they said the lemon law is only good for one year. I am about to run out of warranty and Gm has never fixed the problem. I am not the only one there are alot of this vechiles with this safety issue. i need someone to help protect myself and my family. GM needs to be forced to refund everyone money since they cannot repair these vehicles to make them safe.

Dec 2025 ENGINE Regarding Recall Repair on My Truck To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding the recent service performed on my truck, which I purchased pre-owned from Tropical Chevrolet with only 4,700 miles. 9 months after my purchase, the vehicle received a manufacturer recall involving the motor, requiring a full engine replacement. I brought the truck to Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall for the recall repair, expecting that it would be handled correctly and at no cost to me, especially since the truck was running perfectly before the recall work. After the motor was replaced, I was informed that the Air intake manifold currently on the truck is “not original.” This Air intake manifold was already installed when I bought the truck from Tropical Chevrolet, and I was never informed of any aftermarket or non-original parts at the time of purchase. Now, after Bomnin Chevrolet completed the recall repair, the truck has a check-engine light, and I am being told I must pay approximately $900 to change it for original air intake manifold to remove the check engine warning light. I think the mecanic took out the program.from the computer and Now they want me to pay. This is unacceptable for the following reasons: 1. The truck had no check engine warning lights and was running properly before the recall repair. 2. The Air intake manifold was already on the truck when I purchased it from Tropical Chevrolet. 3. I never approved or installed any non-original parts. 4. Bomnin Chevrolet removed and reinstalled the parts during the recall repair. 5. I should not be held financially responsible for problems created during the recall repair process. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and resolved immediately by Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall. The truck should be returned to me in the same conditions I gave it to them and the recall fix.Thank You Regards, Rafael Lafee

Dec 2025 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE For the first time I purchased a brand new vehicle off a dealership lot…What a mistake. While the dealership itself was an awful experience I thought it was worth it for a Chevy Silverado. After all my previous one was so reliable. WRONG. The first issue I found was I was unable to shift into reverse to back out of the driveway of a fire station I volunteer at. After driving forward a couple times and shutting the vehicle off and shifting multiple times I had to be towed out in reverse. I was able to drive home but the transmissions slipped once and the vehicle slowed abruptly. The check engine light was now on. I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership over the weekend and on Monday they called and informed me the 2024 Silverado misfired once and nothing was wrong with the transmission. There was nothing they could do. About two months later I was driving to work as a career firefighter/paramedic when my vehicles check engine light came on and a message informed me that I was in “reduced acceleration mode”. I slowly and carefully made my way to work and brought the truck to the dealership after my shift. The check engine light was now on again. They informed me later that day that I had a faulty valve body in my transmission. They “unfortunately” could not give me a completion date on my repair as they had no ETA for the replacement part. It appears the part is in high demand. This makes sense as a quick google search shows this is a widely known issue with the 10 speed transmission. So far I have been unable to get a rental vehicle between the dealership and GM. Aside from my house my 2024 Silverado is the largest purchase of my life. And at 15,000 miles I am without it for the foreseeable future. As a first responder the communities I serve depend on me to respond from home at any hour. My family and I are living in a DIY renovation while also starting a farm business. I need a dependable vehicle and regret spending $53,000 on a new vehicle. I have more to say.

Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN Hairline crack developed on the transmission cooling line at the connection of the thermal bypass block. After looking up it seems to be common. Yes, there have been user-reported issues with transmission cooler lines leaking or cracking on 2024 Chevrolet Silverado models equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine, including at or near the thermal bypass block connection. These reports primarily come from owner forums and appear to affect a subset of vehicles, often discovered during routine maintenance or after noticing fluid spots under the truck. Symptoms can include hard shifting, fluid seepage on the undercarriage, or low transmission fluid levels, with some cases progressing to require towing if not addressed early. For instance, multiple owners of 2024 Silverado 1500 models (including ZR2 trims with the LZ0 3.0L Duramax) have described leaks originating from the cooling line block or thermal bypass area next to the oil filter, sometimes involving hairline cracks in the lines themselves. In one detailed account, a 2024 model with around 35,000 miles experienced fluid leaking from the cooling line block, leading to replacement of seals and the entire line assembly due to cracking discovered after initial repairs. Similar problems have been noted on closely related 2023 models, where leaks at the thermal bypass valve necessitated replacing the valve, O-rings, and all cooler lines, with some users reporting hairline cracks as the root cause. Parts like the lines have been on backorder in some cases, causing repair delays, and resolutions are typically covered under warranty (e.g., powertrain coverage up to 100,000 miles), though repeated visits to dealerships are common. These issues seem tied to the 10L80 10-speed transmission paired with the 3.0L Duramax, where the thermal bypass valve can contribute to overheating or fluid flow problems if faulty, potentially exacerbating line wear

Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE The coolant control valve and the transmission control module are having to be replaced on thousands of Silverado 1500s from 2022 to 2025. Both parts have been updated, but there is no recall and many people are being left stranded due to this. Mine has not currently failed, but I am older and really don’t want to get stranded due to a known issue. Why wouldn’t they have been forced to do a recall General Motors should be replacing these as a preemptive precaution.

Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN Complaint Description On Tuesday October 28th, 2025 while driving to work, my 2024 Chevy Silverado LTZ suddenly went into limp mode during normal driving. The truck would not go into reverse at all. I had to use OnStar to call a tow from my residence because the vehicle was not safe or able to be operated. The truck has been at the Chevrolet dealership since that day and as of today (November 7th) it still has not been repaired. The service department confirmed it is a failed transmission valve body. Research shows this is a recurring and known issue on many GM trucks and GM does not appear to have a permanent fix yet. Component/System that failed: Transmission Valve Body failure. Component is currently located at the GM dealership and is available for inspection. Safety Risk: This failure caused sudden limp mode, loss of power, and inability to reverse while in active traffic. This put my safety and potentially other drivers at risk due to sudden unexpected deceleration and inability to maneuver safely. Problem Confirmed: Yes. Confirmed by GM dealership service technicians. Inspection: The vehicle is currently at the GM dealership. No manufacturer field rep, insurance, or police inspection has occurred yet. Warnings / Codes Present: The failure occurred without prior early signs that morning. When it failed, OnStar diagnostics reported: P2732: Transmission System — “Engine and Transmission System not performing as expected.” P0700: Transmission Control Module requested Malfunction Indicator Lamp illumination. Emissions related DTC set in the Transmission Control Module. Both codes triggered at the time limp mode activated. Best Assessment: This appears to be an ongoing recurring GM transmission valve body issue affecting newer GM trucks. The failure caused a sudden loss of drive capability and is a safety hazard that requires NHTSA investigation.
