Fuel Price Defaults
Fuel cost calculators use imported U.S. fuel-price defaults when available and show the geography and date near the calculator. Users can still edit the fuel price to match local station or utility prices.
If a sourced price is missing, the calculator falls back to an editable default assumption and labels it as an assumption.
Update Frequency
Data imports run on a regular automated schedule. Recall and complaint data is refreshed from official sources. Complaint enrichment, manufacturer communications, defect investigations, and recall completion reports are refreshed from official bulk data. Fuel economy data is refreshed from official fuel economy records. Fuel-price defaults are imported from official fuel-price publications when the fuel-price importer runs. EV electricity defaults can use official residential electricity prices where state rows have been imported.
Expanded official fuel economy vehicle details are refreshed separately from the daily recall/complaint import so existing MPG matches can receive updated detail and emissions fields without re-matching trims.
Station locator links are user-initiated external tools. CarCheckCost does not request or store browser location for station lookups.
Each page shows when its data was last refreshed. Pages that fail quality checks are not indexed by search engines.
How to Verify
You can verify recall and complaint details through official federal vehicle safety lookup tools, the vehicle manufacturer, or an authorized dealer. VIN-specific recall status should always be checked through an official VIN recall lookup before making repair or purchase decisions.
