May 2026 ENGINE I was driving home from work, and dash warning sign came on and told me to start engine. I was currently driving at approximately 60 mph. When i came to blinking red Light i went to accelerate and truck was unresponsive. it would not accelerate and engine was off. I went to start engine and it just cranked with no start. I used onstar to get a tow truck. I was broken down in the middle of an intersection and had to wave traffic around me for 1hr 45 min. Finally tow truck came and took truck to local chevy dealership. Upon inspection they stated that it needs a new engine. I had the truck in the chevrolet dealership in feb 2026 to have the 6.2 recall done, they performed the full recall and said everything looks good. truck has approximately 60k miles on it. it failed a few months after inspection. They stated they have ordered a new engine and it would be approximately 4-6weeks minimum. Truck is sitting at the dealership

Apr 2026 ENGINE While exiting a highway via an off-ramp, the vehicle experienced a sudden mechanical failure consistent with internal engine/bearing failure. During deceleration on the off-ramp, the engine began to shudder violently and immediately lost power. The vehicle was unable to maintain normal operation and became unsafe in an active traffic environment. After coming to a stop, the engine would not restart and the vehicle was completely inoperable. There were no prior warning signs or alerts before the failure occurred. The issue developed abruptly while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle required towing and dealer inspection. Diagnosis confirmed internal engine damage / bearing failure / engine seizure. The repair required engine replacement This failure is consistent with widely reported issues involving GM 6.2L V8 engines (model years 2019–2024) experiencing bearing failure and catastrophic engine damage. The same failure characteristics appear to be present in this vehicle. This represents a serious safety concern due to the sudden and complete loss of engine power and inability to restart the vehicle while in a traffic environment, creating risk of collision or roadway obstruction. The vehicle had approximately 65,000 miles at the time of failure.

Apr 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE While driving, the truck suddenly Boggs down and gets sluggish. A message appeared once that said reduced acceleration drive with care. It is dangerous because it loses power and stalls in front of other vehicles. I took it to the dealership on Friday the 17th and they said it was the crank position sensor. They ordered the part and I took it back on Monday the 20th and they replaced the sensor. Today, while driving down the highway it did the same thing again. I will be taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. The truck has 26,000 miles on it.

Apr 2026 ENGINE I am reporting a safety defect involving a GM 6.2L L87 engine. My vehicle was included in the GM recall related to engine failure (loss of propulsion). The recall remedy was performed, and the engine was replaced under recall/warranty in August 2025. After the recall repair and engine replacement, the vehicle experienced a second catastrophic engine failure, on April 21st. The engine failed again while on a highway, resulting in loss of vehicle function and leaving me stranded. This occurred after the manufacturer had already attempted to remedy the defect. The vehicle has now been out of service for an extended period (approximately 2.5 months total across both events - and ongoing), and I am continuing to make payments on a vehicle that is not operable. This appears to be a failure of the recall remedy itself, not just the original defect. I am concerned this represents a broader safety issue involving post-recall failures of the L87 engine, as currently under investigation. I am requesting that this incident be included in the ongoing federal investigation into GM 6.2L engine failures.

Apr 2026 ENGINE Was driving the truck on the highway at 75mph when suddenly the motor revved up in rpm’s and vehicle lost all power. There was no warning lights or any limp mode or anything as such as far as warning. The truck lost all power and could hear metal to metal sounds and turned off the motor. I was able to coast the truck to an off ramp in 70mph traffic. The truck would not turn back on and vehicle was immobile, had to have the vehicle towed by a flatbed to a gm dealer near by. The dealer gave me a loaner pickup and hasn’t looked at my vehicle yet. I bought this pickup less then 3 weeks ago and the L87 recall and oil change had been done prior to me buying it. I was just happy that the truck didnt full shut down at that speed and cause a crash etc. Dealer said motor failure to me and couldn’t confirm a turn around time frame for my truck to get back to me.

Apr 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE On 04/16/2026, while driving, vehicle received and completed a software/firmware OTA update. A second update completion prompt was received while still in motion. Shortly after, while stopped at a traffic light, the auto-start/stop system re-engaged and the vehicle appeared to restart normally. Upon stopping to refuel, remote key fob auto-start failed to respond. Vehicle was started manually and driven to the next location. On arrival, remote key fob auto-start failed again. Used interior push-to-start — vehicle started but displayed an active Check Engine Light. Connected vehicle app diagnostic scan of the Engine and Transmission System returned two WARNING flags requiring service: - Transmission System — Schedule Service Now - Engine Electrical System including Charging and Starting System — Schedule Service Now All other scanned systems (Air Induction, Fuel Management, Engine Cooling, Throttle Control, Ignition, Variable Valve Timing, 4WD, Displacement on Demand) returned OK. Both faults appeared immediately following the OTA update. Remote start failure at two consecutive locations and the Check Engine Light activation are directly correlated in timing with the update applied on 04/16/2026. No fault codes have been pulled yet — dealership service appointment pending. This is not the first instance of an issue after updates are applied, between the infotainment system blacking out, rear camera or ADAS not functioning as well as sporadic crackling sound almost like electricity arcing in the engine compartment near the steering column

Apr 2026 ENGINE Loud ticking sound from engine corresponding with engine speed (faster as the rpms increased). Took in to dealership out of concern and the rod bearings were spun necessitating a full engine replacement. This was only 4 months after it passed the inspection for Recall - L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion (Related field action: See Special Coverage N252494003).

Apr 2026 ENGINE These are two separate incidents. The first one is the seat moves to the left or to the right given the direction of the vehicle. The other incident was when I was reversing into a parking spot. The gear shifted out of reverse and just was in a floating stage. I then had to put it back into reverse to continue it did it twice

Apr 2026 ENGINE 2024 6.2L Silverado Trail Boss, engine failure at 22k miles on 4/13/26. Dealer confirmed the failure (not sure which bearings seized since engine has not been torn down yet, was either crank or rod bearings) and ordered a new engine 4/14/26. I was driving on the interstate and the engine started lightly shuddering during acceleration, showing some loss in power and shifting oddly but no check engine lights and nothing too alarming to immediately pull over. After several miles of this, the engine started to emit a loud metal on metal squeaking/scraping sound when on the throttle but stopped when I would back off the throttle. About a mile later, the truck just shut off at 70mph and went to neutral as I was about to get off an exit to evaluate the issues. Dash said push button to restart as I was coasting, but it wouldn't restart so I put on my hazards and pulled to the shoulder of the highway. Once stopped, it automatically shifted to park and would not crank or allow me to shift to neutral. Flatbed was called and brought it to the dealer. Side note: The truck passed the Pico test 1/15/26 at 20k miles and was sent on my way with the thicker 0W-40 oil. Oil was changed every 5k miles and ran 93 octane.

Apr 2026 ENGINE I was traveling at highway speeds when the engine suffered a sudden and catastrophic mechanical failure without any prior warning lights or symptoms. The engine began knocking violently, locked up and put the truck into a brief skid before freeing up, followed by an immediate loss of oil pressure and a total loss of motive power. This sudden shutdown caused a brief loss of vehicle control as the power steering assist was compromised, creating a hectic and dangerous situation while I was surrounded by high-speed traffic. I was forced to navigate across multiple lanes to reach the shoulder. Crucially, this vehicle had the L87 Safety Recall (NHTSA Recall 25V-274 / GM Program N252494000) performed on July 8, 2025. The "remedy" provided by the manufacturer—which involved an oil viscosity change and a new oil cap—failed to prevent the catastrophic bearing/crankshaft failure it was intended to address. This represents a failed recall remedy that resulted in a life-threatening safety event. The vehicle is currently at a dealership awaiting a complete engine replacement.

Apr 2026 ENGINE The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the vehicle lost power and then stalled. The vehicle was restarted after each failure. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the message "Reduced Acceleration - Drive with Care" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on several occasions, and the dealer retrieved DTC: P2732 and P0700. The contact was informed that the valve body needed to be replaced, and the transmission was leaking transmission fluid, but the leak was not located. The valve body was repaired, and the transmission fluid was topped off, but the failure reoccurred 2-3 months later. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,900.

Apr 2026 POWER TRAIN On 04/03/2026 at approximately 0545 I was heading in to work . While at a complete stop I proceeded to accelerate on the Highway 54 BRF WI. 54615 when the truck made a clunking noise and jerked. At which point the engine light turned on along with reduced speed message across the display screen. unable to pull over safely at the moment I had to proceed no faster than 25 MPH on US 54 hindering all traffic behind me. once safely pulled over I placed the truck in Park, then neutral , which made a loud clunking noise and absolutely no reverse. Truck towed to local dealership. Vehicle had been inspected by Dealer tech. Tech stated faulty valve body in the transmission.

Apr 2026 ENGINE When driving at slow speeds, less that 10 MPH, the engine shuts off and vehicle shifts to neutral. Message is displayed on driver console Press Start Button to restart. Only the engines shuts down as all displays, entertainment center and controls are still displayed. Pushing the start button restarts the engine. This has occurred several times since purchasing the truck however it has occurred 2 times in the last 45 days. This issue has happened while driving in slow traffic on the interstate and is concerning when it occurs as I come to a complete stop without warning creating a possible rear end accident. It was first reported to my Chevy service dealer on 2/21.2025, The Chevy tech stated they could not duplicate the issue so no remedy has been offered. The issue continues to happen and I will be returning to my Chevy service center for another report of this continuing to happen.

Apr 2026 POWER TRAIN What is happening with my vehicle is a major safety concern in my opinion for myself and for my family. I purchased the vehicle on February 18,2026 from Ryan Ford in sealy,TX with approx 32,800 miles. The first incident was on March 16 with 33,718 miles, my daughter and I went to leave the Lowe’s parking lot and my vehicle would not go in reverse. It however would go in drive, so after being pushed back out of the parking spot we left for our home.(this part of not going in reverse I do have on video) Once on the feeder road and up to approx 45mph my vehicle went completely out of gear and had to coast to a stop on the side the road. Turned vehicle off and on and it went back in gear, after making it home I made and appointment with the dealership and dropped it off that day. I was informed no codes came up and the dealership could not get the issue to duplicate so I received my vehicle back. The second incident was on March 21 trying to leave the convenient store, I put my vehicle in reverse and pressed on the gas to go backward and nothing happened. Then I pressed on the gas again and it threw my vehicle in reverse and jolted my truck back several feet before I could press on the brake. Luckily no one or no object was behind me. The third incident was on April 3rd trying to leave Walmart. My truck would not go in reverse again. I pressed the gas pedal several times and out of nowhere again it threw itself in reverse and jolted my truck back again. (I also have this on video as well).

Apr 2026 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle started jerking and shuddering before it stalled. There was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the engine compartment. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,222.

Mar 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Summary of Incident: On March 28, 2026, while traveling at 70 MPH on the Florida Turnpike, the vehicle suffered an instantaneous loss of motive power. The engine died abruptly with no warning. Upon reaching the shoulder, the electronic transmission locked, refusing to shift into Neutral or Park. The engine cranks but will not start. 1. Component Failure & Availability: The exact component is currently unknown, but the failure involves the Powertrain, Fuel System, and Electronic Transmission Control. The vehicle is currently at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection by the manufacturer or NHTSA upon request. 2. Safety Risk: The sudden loss of power at highway speeds created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision. Because the electronic transmission locked and would not allow the vehicle to be shifted into Neutral, it became a fixed object on a high-speed shoulder. It could not be pushed to a safer location, increasing the risk of a secondary accident. 3. Problem Reproduction: The vehicle was towed directly to an authorized Chevrolet dealership. As of this filing, the dealership is in possession of the vehicle, but the failure has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a technician as they are awaiting formal diagnostic commencement. 4. Inspections: The vehicle was inspected by a roadside towing professional for transport. It is currently at the manufacturer’s authorized service center awaiting a formal diagnostic inspection. No police or insurance inspections have occurred. 5. Warning Symptoms: There were no warning lamps, "Check Engine" lights, or messages prior to the failure. No symptoms like rough idling or unusual noises occurred. The vehicle performed normally until the moment of total power loss.

Mar 2026 STRUCTURE:BODY I am writing to report a serious safety concern involving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado that resulted in a child being locked inside the vehicle with the key fob present inside the car. On March 25 2026, after parking and turning off the vehicle, I exited the driver’s seat with my key fob inside my purse, which remained in the front of the vehicle. I then walked around to remove my daughter from the back seat. During that time, she climbed into the front seat and pressed the interior door lock button, locking all doors. My daughter has autism and is not able to follow instructions or unlock the vehicle on command. As a result, she was locked inside the vehicle with the key fob present inside, and I was unable to gain access from the outside. The vehicle did not prevent the lock from engaging, nor did it allow me to open the door despite the key being inside the vehicle. This situation required emergency assistance (911) to safely remove her from the vehicle. I understand that many vehicles have “lockout prevention” features; however, in this case, the system did not account for a vulnerable occupant inside the vehicle. Allowing the vehicle to be locked from the interior while the key fob is inside—and without any external override—creates a significant child safety risk. I am requesting that Chevrolet review this design behavior as a potential safety issue, specifically: - Why the vehicle allows interior locking when a key fob is detected inside - Why there is no external override to unlock the vehicle when the key is present - Whether a software update or safety feature enhancement can address this risk This is not just a convenience issue—it is a safety hazard that can lead to dangerous outcomes, especially for children or individuals with disabilities. Please confirm receipt of this concern and advise whether this issue has been previously identified or is under review.

Mar 2026 ENGINE I had my oil changed and the next day the check engine light came on. I looked on the Chevy app to see what it was and it said Varuable Valve timing issue. I Click further into the app warning and it said, Engines equipped with this system use sensors that regulate the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves to optimize performance and efficiency. I live 3 and a half hours away fro. The dealership so I had some mechanics look at the truck just to see if they could pin point what the issues was exactly. They didnt pull or work on anything just looked around listened and plugged in a code reader. The code reader found some codes that had to do with 3rd stage valve timing issues and VVT. And 1 or 2 other codes. But they didnt know exactly what was wrong. I had my oil changed 1 more time to see if maybe that was the issue. It did not fix the issue. I called the dealership to make a appointment. I brought it in and get a call that the cam shaft need to be replaced. It was in the shop for about a month and when they said it was ready. I went to pick it up and as I was pulling out of the dealership parking lot. The check engine light came on and I drove back and it had the same codes. And now it is being worked on again. The safety side is if it looses power while im going 65 mph it could be really dangerous. Becaue there could be metal shavings in the oil possibly.
