Dec 2024 POWER TRAIN my vehicle suddenly experienced decreased acceleration on the highway. A warning message appeared on the dashboard indicating reduced acceleration. When placing the vehicle in Reverse, the vehicle was not able to move in reverse. The dealership diagnosed it as a valve body needing replaced.

Dec 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE Every time I tow my travel trailer within 150 miles or so I will get a message that the Diesel Exhaust fluid (DEF)is low and needs to be filled soon. Within 50 miles of that happening I will get the message that the DEF is low and will be speed limited in 500 miles. When I stop and fill the DEF fluid it only takes about 2.5 gallons which isn't even halfway empty. When the Speed Limited to 65 in xxx miles warning comes on you are unable to view any other safety related information such as tire pressure or temperatures. I took my truck to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. in September and they kept a 6 month old truck for 23 days. They said there is an issue with the DEF software algorithm while towing and they don't have a fix. They have a technical service bulletin that tells them to instruct customers not to add DEF until they get the Speed Limited in xxx miles . In other words don't fill it up when it says it's empty. The DEF system is a government requirement and the manufacturer should be required to ensure that their system is accurate and working under all driving conditions.

Nov 2024 POWER TRAIN,LANE DEPARTURE I am writing to formally report a critical safety issue involving the torque converter in my vehicle, which has put my safety and the safety of others at risk. The problem began when I noticed rumbling noises emanating from the underside of the vehicle while driving at slow speeds on any type of road. There were no warning lamps or messages displayed on the vehicle to indicate an issue. This lack of advance notice left me unaware of the potential danger, increasing the risk of an accident. Upon having the vehicle inspected by a certified dealership, it was confirmed that the torque converter had come apart. This malfunction significantly compromised the vehicle’s drivability and posed a serious safety hazard. Sudden loss of power or reduced control, which could occur due to such a failure, puts both the driver and other road users at risk of an accident. I am deeply concerned about the implications of this issue for other vehicles that may have similar defects. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter promptly to determine if it represents a broader safety concern and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent further incidents. Please feel free to contact me for any additional details or documentation related to this issue. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your response. Nov 2024 POWER TRAIN Valve Body on transmission failed at 9000 miles resulting in extreme reduced acceleration and it being unsafe to drive. No warning lights appeared until after the part failed. Failed valve body has been confirmed by the certified dealership service center. Replacement valve bodies are unavailable from the manufacturer GM. GM has not issued any formal recall for this part and searching online forums, this is a very common part failure for this vehicle.

Nov 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I was taking a left from a stop sign onto a busy boulevard and as soon as I had passed the median I started losing acceleration and it felt like the transmission or engine was glitching or lugging. The engine began to try restarting itself possibly from the auto start-stop however I was now almost at a dead stop in the left hand lane in the dark. I promptly attempted to turn my hazards on, but they would not turn on while it was trying to start so I held the brake pedal down for light. I tried to turn the truck off and turn it back on however the hazards still did not work, none of the gauges went off when the truck was turned off, IE gas and voltage gauges were stuck. After attempting to put it into park and drive a few times I was finally able to turn the truck off, open the door and close it. At this point I was finally able to get the hazards turned on, however, it seemed like they would not stay on when the truck was trying to start so I could get out of the left hand lane. Fortunately someone stopped and we were able to push the truck off onto the median. After about a dozen attempts, the truck finally started, with the last attempt pumping the gas repeatedly for about twenty seconds. I drove hit for another twenty minutes and it drove okay with the engine light on. Onstar diagnostics mentioned possible fuel pump relay. I will note I did test drive a same year GMC equivalent model, and as the dealer went to gas it up, it would not start again. It ended up being the fuel pump relay.

Nov 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I purchased my truck in August of 2024, new off of the lot. Within the first week there was an issue with the infotainment system of the truck with muted all audio. This includes all safety features that have audio alerts, navigation, stereo, blinkers. Anything audio is affected. This has now happened to my tuck 6 times since purchasing it. I have researched this online, and it has been a common issue since at least 2022 with no solution by Chevrolet. I have concerns since this affects all safety features built into the truck.

Nov 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The forward collision warning light just came on and has been on for five days. Nothing happened, no wreck, no bumping into anything. I have researched and found others that have had the same problem. I tried removing the F11 fuse and leaving it out for 15 minutes as well as replacing it. I’ve insured that the windshield is clean and cameras are not blocked. I’ve used the settings in the main screen to turn the option on and off and it still stays on. I’ve checked for updates but didn’t find any. I called the dealership and they couldn’t help and said bring the truck in.

Nov 2024 AIR BAGS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My husband hit another vehicle, then proceeded across the road and crashed into a telephone pole. The airbags did not deploy. However the vehicle called onstar to report the crash. The nc state trooper and the towing company both indicated that they were also shocked that the air bags did not deploy. This is a brand new vehicle with 1100 miles and has been declared a total loss due to the severity of the front end damage. The the body shop was also commenting on this fact.

Oct 2024 POWER TRAIN On [XXX], my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Custom, Trail Boss 7,500 miles lost immediate power during driving operations. I was accelerating from a stop and my truck immediately lost power and my RPMs rose drastically without any power to my wheels. In an instant, the truck surged in power and continued to loose it while in traffic. I had to control the vehicle by slowing down. The check engine light appeared and warning messages to reduce acceleration and drive carefully. All of this occurred violently and without any warning. The truck reduced speed on its own and allowed me to drive 35 mph for two miles into the dealership which happened to be close. There is an extreme risk here for anyone who is driving at interstate speeds and this were to happen. After experiencing this incident, I was told the transmission or the transmission valve body required to be replaced by the dealership. I researched this later and discovered an extensive list of year models with the same problem. I was told services bulletins have been issued on this issue, but this is a serious risk to loss of life. I was told today Chevrolet doesn’t have a solution to the valve body problem and I would be without my vehicle until it is found and repaired. I am requesting a formal investigation. Sep 2024 ENGINE While towing a travel trailer from Texas to New Mexico I began to receive DEF 298 miles range remaining after about 3 hours of driving. About 30 minutes after range warning I got another warning that now the tank fluid is low and needs to be refilled. I stopped at the next gas station to fill the DEF tank with fluid but it only took about 1.5 gallons to top it off. I believe it holds 7.7 gallons. Back on the road the DEF level did not reset and it gave me a warning that in 500 miles I would be speed limited to 65 MPH. While this warning is displayed it is not possible to view tire pressure, transmission temperature or any other vital information about the vehicle. The countdown continued and when I reached my destination I had 298 miles remaining. I topped the DEF tank off once again and it took 1.5 gallons again. This only brought the level back to "low add fluid'. After 2 days of driving without the trailer the DEF level returned to full. When I began the return trip with a full DEF tank I made it about an hour before I received the 300 mile range warning. I refilled it at every fuel stop with about 1 gallon. It remained at the 300 mile range warning throughout the trip and after. My issue with this system is that it could render the vehicle undrivable in the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles away from a Chevrolet Service Center. The DEF system especially when it is verified that the tank has fluid and is actually using it normally should be able to be bypassed to make it to a repair center. I forgot to mention that this is a new vehicle 4 months old with about 4000 miles on it. It has been in the Chevrolet Service for 3 weeks and has not even been looked at.

Sep 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The Bluetooth handsfree system has sound problems within incoming and outgoing calls. The radio is working between, Sirius XM and Bluetooth music from the cell phone, with no issues along with AM and FM transmissions. However, when on the phone there are random crackle noises from the speakers. Most of the time it's when they're pronouncing letters that creat a higher pitch sound in normal conversations followed with the crackle. It's happening throughout the call and is consistent on every call. Test were completed with the Dealership’s Service Adviser where we replicated the issue with his cell phone separate from mine. After researching this, I have discovered is is not an isolated problem. Sep 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE I am writing to request urgent assistance with my Chevrolet truck, which has experienced several serious issues recently. On September 25, 2024, while driving, the steering wheel became stiff, and the engine's power stopped. The dashboard lights remained on, and I was unable to start or turn off the vehicle. The Chevrolet app initially indicated an airbag system issue. However, the next day, it reported problems with the engine and transmission system. I scheduled an appointment with the Bomnin dealership for September 28. When I arrived, the service advisor informed me that due to a backlog, the truck could not be inspected immediately and advised me to return in a month. Consequently, the vehicle has not yet been seen by a Chevrolet mechanic. On September 29, the Chevrolet app also indicated an issue with the anti-lock braking system. To date, I have not received a clear explanation or resolution for these problems. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide to expedite the repair process and address these issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
