Apr 2024 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Multiple random electrical issues, including, but not limited to: 1) "Service ESC" warning activates causing the truck to have greatly reduced speed and power. Extremely dangerous at expressway speeds in heavy traffic. 2) Electrical system & engine completely shuts down with no warning. Extremely dangerous for obvious reasons. Temporarily remedied by disconnecting/reconnecting battery, thus resetting the system. Problems have been confirmed by the dealer, Bomnin Chevrolet- Dadeland. Supposedly vehicle has been inspected by a GM "TAC" technician. Vehicle has been and is currently in the possession of the dealer off & on approaching 2 months with no resolution.

Apr 2024 POWER TRAIN The contact's husband owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at approximately 60 MPH, and shifting gear, the vehicle lost motive power for 15-20 seconds. The Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was illuminated. On another occasion, while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver assist function was activated, an error message was displayed, and the vehicle failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed, and the TCM module needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Apr 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the Auto START/STOP feature. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the engine shut off and failed to restart upon releasing the brake pedal to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the Auto START/STOP sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the dealer advised the contact to disengage the feature when driving. The contact followed the dealer's recommendation. The contact stated that on one occasion after forgetting to disengage the feature before driving, while at a complete stop, the engine shut off and hesitated to restart. The message "Brake System Failure" was displayed, and the brakes became inoperable. The contact pumped the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact allowed the vehicle to roll from a complete stop and pull into a gas station. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

Mar 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM At approximately 9k mi the engine performance (2.7L MAX Turbo) started to become intermittent. I always record the fuel milage, and always drive the same way, to/from work. NOTE: Displayed mpg calculates within 1% of actual. We can assume the driving habits are identical each time. While driving on the same tank of fuel for a week at a time: one day heading to work the indicated mpg might be 17 mpg. Driving home, about 10 minutes into the drive, it might increase 25 mpg. The following day it could be the same 17/25 mpg or it might be 25/17. The weather is somewhat dependent, whereas around =<43F the 17 mpg is almost a guarantee. While the indicated lower mpg is displayed, a direct lack of engine power is noticeable. The accelerator is dangerously non-responsive, all the while of pressing the pedal >3/4 to the floor. There is also no downshifting from the transmission whatsoever. To make the engine respond to change, the accelerator must be fully pressed to the floor, forcing the transmission into a lower gear and causing the engine to 'wake up'. When the mpg is above 20 or 21 mpg, (and temperatures >50F) the engine performs normally, where gradual accelerations to the pedal increase the engine speeds and down shift as expected. I have contacted GM through the 'MyCheverlot' app a couple of times, and have taken the truck to the dealer twice for this. Both times from the dealer it was stated that since the engine light was not on and no codes were stored, there was nothing that could be done. The dealer installed a software update and sent me on my way. Lastly, the 4WD is now making a grinding/rubbing noise, since the software update and overcomes the engine power while making turns from a stopped position. If no acceleration is applied, the truck will come to a rapid complete stop if rolling <10 mph. Truck is a LEMON!!

Mar 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Truck is equipped with a power up/down tailgate. I was driving on a rainy day and stopped for gas. Upon putting the vehicle in Park and shutting off the engine, the driver information center alerted with a dinging sound several times. Upon returning and starting the engine the information center alerted that the tailgate was open. I got out and checked and the tailgate was open. I closed the tailgate by manually lifting it. I believe this is a safety issue and the switching mechanism or sensor needs to be repaired or replaced.

Mar 2024 POWER TRAIN On first start up when put truck in drive and give gas when it shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear there is a big hesitation when trying to shift and rpm’s revs up then it goes into 2nd gear. This has been verified by the dealers service advisor. The service advisor says they have no service bulletin on this problem so they have no solution for it at this time. This has been happening since August 3 2023 off and on until today. I have many recording of this happening. The service adviser has listened to several of them.

Mar 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE On [XXX], while driving 70 mph on [XXX] towards Weatherford, Texas. There was an unoccupied vehicle parked on the shoulder of the highway that was at least 15 feet from my lane. The automatic braking system slammed on the brakes unexpectedly. On [XXX] while driving 65 mph on Highway [XXX] from Cleburne Texas to Fort Worth Texas, a Texas Department of Public Safety (Highway Patrol) was parked on the shoulder of the North bound lane. Right as I was about to drive past the State Trooper, the automatic braking system slammed on the brakes unexpectedly again. I was then pulled over by the State Trooper, I explained what had happened, and he let me leave without writing a ticket. Feb 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES While stopped at an intersection my truck lost all electrical power. a couple of seconds later the dash lights came on saying that the vehicle did not have any brakes or brake assist. Then while the vehicle was still in drive it started. due to the brakes not working the vehicle jerked forward. I put the car in neutral. The light turned green and I was able to get out of intersection and then went to the side of the road. While driving this short distance the vehicle displayed that because the brakes were not working it would not go over 62 MPH. Once I was able to stop I shut vehicle off. I waited a short time and restarted the vehicle. This appeared to fix the braking problem but the check engine light stayed on. Drove home with no further issues and called for service which will be 2/19/24. Mostly my concern is that the vehicle restarted while in drive with the vehicle having no brakes.

Feb 2024 ENGINE 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 purchased 7/10/2023 with a 6.2L gasoline engine - Lifter and engine bearing failure leading to complete engine failure at 5920 miles on [XXX]. Dealership has been in possession of the vehicle since [XXX]. Engine failed, leaving me stranded at an intersection blocking traffic in single digit temperatures. Due to the electronic gear shift, there was no way to put the vehicle in neutral to move it from the intersection. The tow truck driver was forced to drag the vehicle onto flatbed tow truck, possibly damaging other components in the process. This appears to be a common issue that is known by General Motors without remedy. Appears to be related to the Dynamic Fuel Management system and spring-loaded lifters that fail. The vehicle has been inspected by Chevrolet Dealer, who determined it needs a full engine replacement. There were no warning lamps or messages leading up to the failure. Vehicle drove normal for over 100 miles on the highway. Upon exiting the highway, the auto start stop feature turned the engine off at a stop light. Upon letting off the brake, the engine struggled to start back up and check engine light came on. Pulled over immediately, and upon stopping at the stop sign the engine seized and would not restart. This led to me blocking an intersection for over an hour in single digit temperatures waiting for the police and a tow truck. Feb 2024 POWER TRAIN The transmission has a shudder during gear change and at certain speeds. First noted to dealer at 7,500 miles and they could not duplicate. At 15,000 it is worse, they confirmed the issue but had no fix. New truck, they want me to just accept the problem for the moment and keep driving it. Not happy, distracting, wonder about damage being caused, and long-term impact. Will it quit on trip, middle of the night, etc.?

I had vehicle towed to local chevy dealer Dyer and they pulled VIN and said it was in open recall something about fuel injection flow, they said it should have never left the lot or been sold so now i'm up the creek no truck and not sure where to go with problem. The print out from Dyer shows recall release on 01/10/2-24 and i bought on 01/17/2024 there saying they Alanjay should have caught the recall. Jan 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES Several things have happened multiple times now. While driving on an interstate the truck suddenly lost power then from 70 mph dropped almost immediately to 30-35 which almost caused the vehicles behind me to slam into me. Another time the auto stop came on waiting at a red light then when the light turned green the truck threw all alerts on the dash and died. Now I was parking and the esc control light came on then the trailer braking light and now the vehicle lost all power all together. I am not able to start it or even lock it.

Jan 2024 POWER TRAIN What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The transmission "shifter" has a Parking switch on top of the shifter. Pushing the shifter full forward results in the transmission being in REVERSE. Vehicles have had full forward result in PARK for as long as the automatic transmission has been around, creating a dangerous conflict between muscle memory and function. There have been two close-calls where my mind has considered it to be in PARK and when letting off the brake, the truck began moving in reverse. Luckily, I would have only hit a parked car but if there was a person behind me? Things could turn bad, quickly. Jan 2024 STRUCTURE My tailgate has opened without activation 3 times while on roadways sending cargo to the road. This fortunately has not causes an accident (that I know of) but the potential obviously does exist as a vehicle may need to make an emergency lane change to avoid hitting a toolbox, crate, or other cargo that I may be carrying as I use my truck to work with. 2 of three times I was made aware and returned to clear the roadway further endangering myself. I have current cleared my pickup bed of all cargo as I no longer trust the tailgate from spewing cargo to the roadway.
