49 consumer-submitted complaints are matched to this model year. Treat the count as a research signal, then read the actual summaries for repeated symptoms.
The most common categories are electrical system, electrical system,engine,fuel/propulsion system, unknown or other. Use those categories as a test-drive checklist instead of judging the vehicle from the total count alone.
Enriched records include 2 crash reports, 1 fire report, 0 injury reports, and 0 fatality reports. These fields come from complaint records and should be read in context.
Mileage-at-failure is not available for enough matched complaints here. Ask for maintenance records and inspect wear items instead of relying only on complaint totals.

| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I was driving the Jeep on Route 35 in NJ when all of a sudden, the car lost power, jerked forward thrusting be towards the windshield. The "D" on the gear shift started blinking and the check engine light went on. The dashboard message indicated something along the lines that I had to put the car in parking "P". The car behind me beeped and almost rear ended me as it's a fast road and my car slowed dramatically and unexpectedly. Ultimately, I was able to glide into a parking lot on the side street and called the tow truck. The dealership said that a faulty OTA was sent out which caused the issue and that it has happened to many people. There were no symptoms or warning lights prior to the event. The dealership updated the vehicle and said it was safe to drive but I am not convinced based on the experience of others, which I have read in forums, who have had the same thing happen multiple times even after having the dealership update installed. Apparently, this OTA issue was widespread. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Oct 10, 2025, I received an OTA update on my Jeep Wrangler. After the installation, I left my child's school on the way to dinner. Maybe a half mile into the drive, I received numerous warnings on the display screen and quickly after that, the vehicle lost all power. Hybrid system unavailable as well as the gas motor. Power steering, brakes and stability control also gone. Was able to get to the side of the road but it nearly stranded me on an elevated 2 lane road over a dam near Cherry Creek Reservoir in Greenwood Village, CO. Was able to reset the system after some troubleshooting and limp the vehicle home. Made an appointment and took it in for service the following Tuesday. The dealer has tried to remedy the situation but ran into the same loss of power after another update. I do not trust this vehicle with the safety of my family in mind. Jeep/Stellantis has yet to notify it's customers of this potential safety hazard nor have they communicated/acknowledged it publicly to raise awareness. It could save lives and something needs to be done. There are hundreds if not thousands of impacted owners and some might not even know yet. Unacceptable for Jeep, Stellantis and quite frankly... the NHTSA.... for not taking the appropriate steps to prevent potential accidents. Your entire mission is safety and not a peep from any party. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Pulling into parking spot and lightly touched accelerator and jeep launched over the curb and slammed into a metal door and concrete wall. Unexplainable reason for sudden acceleration and unable to break in time.called dealership but they have had no other complaints.no vehicle has not been inspected damage is cosmetic.no system warning before it happened. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Driving normally then loss of power and forced us to pull over. Check engine light on. Super, super dangerous. This is after an OTA update. Many other jeep wrangler owners reporting the same issue: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Car stalling in the freeway while we are driving, it stall multiple times before i can come back home. Very unsafe and scarry, loosess power. Cars mesage to put into park and then start the car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | On 10/10/25, my 2025 Jeep received an over-the-air (OTA) software update intended for the Uconnect infotainment system. Following the update, the vehicle experienced a complete powertrain failure. It became undrivable, shut off entirely, and refused to shift out of park. This occurred without warning and posed a serious safety risk, especially had it happened while driving. The issue appears to be related to the hybrid control module, which was affected by the software update. The vehicle displayed multiple warning lights and fault codes (including Service Hybrid Drive System). I had to contact roadside assistance and have the vehicle towed to a dealership. Jeep has since acknowledged the issue and pulled the update, but I am concerned about the potential for permanent damage to the powertrain and the safety implications of such a failure. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure proper accountability and prevent similar incidents for other owners. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | After jeep released an OTA update on Friday, I started my vehicle on Saturday and started to drive and in about 2-3 minutes all lights on dash started flashing and lost all power to vehicle and was luck enough to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle message said place car in park. Had to turn vehicle off then could shift into park. Then restarted now CEL is on but vehicle started and again 2 min later same problem no power had to coast to side of road, shut vehicle down and restart. This happen a several times one time I also lost power steering. I was just lucky enough to be on side roads and not the highway. The vehicle totally loses all propulsion and you have zero power to the vehicle and also lost power steering | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | After receiving a notification about a "uconnect update" on my infotainment and next start of my vehicle I experienced 3 loss of acceleration events within relatively short time intervals. When the event occurs, the dash flashes "P" and states the vehicle needs to be shifted into park, and restarted. First incident, I felt a hard thud when I shifted to drive. Upon the second incident (roughly 200 feet/10 seconds from the first incident), the check engine light came on, and the same message appeared. Forcing me to shift to park, and then restart the vehicle. The issue occurred for the 3rd time roughly 400 feet from where the second incident occurred. I have a tow scheduled to bring it to the dealership tomorrow. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | I was driving my 2025 4xE wrangler to work and throttle shut off on me and I wasn’t able to move. Stuck in the middle of busy traffic and stranded. I had to call a tow truck to take it to the dealership. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Jeep pushed a software update out to our Jeep resulting in repeated loss of power and systems without warning. Multiple events occurred while exiting and returning to our neighborhood. Researching issue over the weekend - many owners of the same year and model experienced this same issue after this software update pushed on Friday. Issue occurred during first drive on10/11/2025 Vehicle trigger check engine light - loss engine, brake and steering power - displayed shift into park to restart - then would last a few minutes are lose power and require park and restart. lucky our family was on minimal traffic city streets or this event could have been dangerous as we were a few hundred feet from being a freeway journey. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | While driving I suddenly lost power and the vehicle came to an abrupt and suddenly stopped. The check engine light came on after it abruptly stopped. Jeep is now aware of this issue happening to multiple cars and has not made any attempts to notify us that our vehicle is not safe to drive. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | There was an over the air updated to something in the vehicle and now hybrid battery range is much lower. Also, have seen multiple complaints that the vehicle will not turn on or stalls while driving creating dangerous conditions on the road while driving. I have not attempted to drive on the road after seeing other complaints concerning this update. Vehicle was perfectly fine before update. This is completely unacceptable, essentially using drivers as test dummys for untested and unproven software updates. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Had an issue with a service charging system, and service hybrid system on my 2025 jeep wrangler 4xe that I’ve had for 7 mos. Under 10k miles. When checked, I was told it was a connector for the ac compressor, had a bent pin. On back order. 2 weeks + later, called to bring it in. The repair was a 16 hr repair, which I wasn’t notified of, service agent said tech completed it in 9 as I waited a total of 12 hours at the dealership. Was not told the eac and hv cable needed to be replaced. A few days later, check engine light came on. Phoned dealer, told to bring it in. Did so and service agent mentioned code about evap. Then, told me it required an update. Drove for 2 hours, check engine light came back on. Took jeep back and got a loaner. Told it was a purge valve solenoid that had to be ordered. Issue with the evap that they didn’t address the first time. The dealer phoned days later to say it was fixed, and when I arrived, I didn’t even make it out of the service lane before the check engine light came on again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | While driving vehicle randomly stops upon inspection it's throwing code P1E1D. Car will randomly stall and lock up. Was able to pull over to the side and not cause an accident. Was able to reproduce, car only goes about half a mile. Check engine light came on. This is related to system update push by Jeep. | Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My vehicle did a software update Friday, October 10 10th after the update the vehicle went into a limp mode. I had to put the vehicle in park. Turn the vehicle off. Turn the vehicle back on immediately a check engine light came on. After the incident, the vehicle would only operate for about 10 minutes and I would have to repeat the same steps in order to get me safely home. Basically left me stranded with no power steering no warning that the vehicle even turned off just simply stopped in traffic in some cases and I was losing control. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Vehicle shut down without warning while driving 6 times within an hour time period trying to get to nearest repair facility. No throttle response and loss of power steering upon occurrence. After pulling over and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle functioned normally for 5 to 10 more minutes but a check engine light stayed illuminated. Vehicle was operating on battery power, not gas engine, each time. Dealership has possession of the vehicle currently. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Vehicle completely shut down, lost all engine power and power steering while driving in the middle of traffic, completely blocked an intersection. Had to restart vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | The hybrid system is not communicating and it’s only solution is to completely shut the car off at high speeds | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | EQUIPMENT | We were flat towing our Jeep Wrangler behind our RV using a new Blue Ox Avail tow bar and the right-side tow arm failed. Once the tow bar failed it was difficult to keep the Jeep within the lane behind the RV until we could find a safe place to exit the interstate and unhook. Blue Ox sent us a replacement Avail tow bar since it was under warranty, and the exact same thing happened on the first trip with the brand new replacement. The right-side tow arm failed traveling down the interstate. Two failures with two brand new units….Blue Ox Avail tow bar. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | STRUCTURE | I rented a Jeep Wrangler from Enterprise in Kingston, NY. While driving on the highway, my 12-year-old daughter pulled a lever in the passenger seat, and the roof panel detached and flew onto the road. There were no warnings, no instructions, and no disclosure from Enterprise. This posed an extreme danger to drivers. This vehicle design and rental practice presents a major public safety risk. | Sep 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | This is an unmodified 2025 Jeep Wrangler with less than 3000 miles. While driving between 20 and 30 miles per hour, the vehicle went completely dead in traffic. No power, no lights, no dashboard, no blinkers, no brake lights. It stalled and was stuck in drive. It proceeded to roll a few feet after failing. It would not start as nothing was functioning. Because there was no power to the vehicle at all, I could not open the tailgate to get tools or a light. I had to climb over the seats. The vehicle failed in traffic while driving and came to an immediate stop in the road. In approximately 50ft I would have been turning left into and intersection. After a few days at the dealer, they recreated the problem. They drove it about a mile and it failed in traffic and needed to be towed to the dealership again. There was no warning or check engine light. Everything just went black/dead. The dealer states "The ground wire under the TIPM/Fuse Panel was loose, causing intermittent short to ground canceling all power to vehicle." The vehicle has only 3000 miles on it, so this was a defect from the factory, as the wire is not even accessible without disassembly of the engine compartment. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Just purchase unit right from [XXX] , Driven very home 100 miles, pick the unit up with 20 miles. Went to get into it then morning unit when you try to first start Jeep creeps for long period of time, for periods over 45 seconds , engine should not take 45 seconds to start. Then you have to turn vehicle off briefly and turn it back on finally starts.. Brand new vehicle less then 500 miles on shouldn't be doing this INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | Engine surge while braking. New 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with 450 miles. V-6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. No modifications. Autonomous braking. Came to a traffic circle with yield sign. Slowed by braking for vehicle on right to enter traffic circle. The engine suddenly surged, began bucking as I depressed the brake further, and entered the traffic circle, just barely missing the vehicle to the right. One wheel (not sure which) began skidding as if the ABS had come one. I pulled over, shut the Jeep down and restarted. Problem did not recur. I tested pushing the brake while using the accelerator and the brake easily held the vehicle in stop. I am certain I did not "accidentally step on both the accelerator and brake at the same time." An hour later I took the vehicle into the Service Department of the local Jeep dealer. They did not run a diagnostic but said that there were various possible caused but had not seen it on Jeeps they had serviced. I looked on the various Jeep chatrooms on line and discovered that many people had had the identical problem over the last 5 years. Some say they reported it to NHTSA. This is likely a software or computer issue and is extremely dangerous. It needs to be addressed by the manufacturer It was only by sheer luck I did not hit the right-of-way vehicle Thank you for your interest. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | I am writing to formally notify you of a serious issue I am experiencing with my recently purchased 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X , purchased on 17 June 2025 from your dealership. Just two weeks after taking delivery of the vehicle, I encountered a major electrical malfunction that rendered the car unsafe and undrivable. While driving, I received an alarming safety message on the dashboard stating: "For safety reasons, please park the vehicle. It will shut off automatically." Shortly after, multiple critical warnings appeared, including: Check Engine light illuminated Gear indicator began blinking Transmission failed to shift properly Loss of acceleration control and other electronic functions This sudden failure occurred without any prior warning and has caused significant inconvenience, as well as concern regarding the vehicle’s reliability and safety—especially considering it is a brand-new car with only approximately [insert mileage] miles on it. I am requesting a prompt investigation into this issue and an explanation regarding the cause of the failure. I would also appreciate immediate support in resolving this matter, including warranty service, temporary transportation arrangements, and a clear action plan moving forward. Please confirm receipt of this message and advise on the next steps. I look forward to a swift and responsible resolution to this matter. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
