| Nov 2025 | STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | My vehicle has 1,500 miles on it. Last time I drove it from work back home was Friday 11/21 and nothing was wrong. Got back in the car Sunday 11/23 and my engine light was blinking and all kinds of warnings were displaying such as engine, break, and steering problems. My wife and I noticed the car vibrating a lot and I had to drive 20mph. If not the car felt like it was going to shut down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | My 2025 Honda Pilot (purchased Oct 2024) has experienced three windshield cracks, all starting in the same lower driver-side corner near the inspection stickers. 1st crack – July 2025: A long horizontal crack appeared overnight while parked, with no impact point at all. Dealer claimed “impact damage” and refused warranty. 2nd crack – August 2025: After paying for an OEM replacement and Honda Sensing calibration, the new windshield cracked on the drive home from a very small road debris impact. The star-shaped crack spread rapidly to the edge. Glass shop staff informally said the first crack looked like a stress crack. They replaced the glass again with OEM and calibrated, offering their labor for free. Dealer declined to pay even for only glass itself and told us to talk to Honda USA. We contacted Honda USA by phone, received a case number, and were told to “deal with the dealer.” The dealer then told us to contact Honda USA again. Neither party investigated, and both said the windshield is “not covered.” 3rd crack – November 2025: A tiny debris impact again caused a crack in the same exact corner. The impact chip was extremely small, but the crack still spread more than normal. All photos attached with repair invoices. We paid out of pocket as our insurance does not cover OEM glass. The repeated cracking in the identical corner, including one with no impact, suggests a possible structural stress point, mounting issue, or overly thin/brittle OEM glass. I also found another NHTSA complaint from June 2024 reporting similar cracking on a 2025 Pilot. These repeated failures pose a visibility and safety risk on a new vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Pilot stalled out while driving all the warning lights started flashing on dashboard the steering wheel locked . I turned vehicle off for a few minutes turned it back on and was able to drive it back home with hazards on took it to the dealership they can’t find anything wrong | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN | Tonight, 11/8/2025 at 7pm MT, while traveling straight at 25-30 mph, power steering suddenly failed and vehicle reported that AWD failed with only front wheels powered. Many other failure warnings simultaneously appeared on dash (collision detection, LKAS, parking assist, etc). The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My family's safety was put at risk. Sudden loss of power steering is very surprising to the driver, combined with the dash reporting a multitude of failure warnings all at once. If we had been driving on the freeway at speed or in the middle of a turn this would have been a very serious safety issue, easily leading to a collision given the sudden change in steering input needed. If traveling in snow or ice, losing AWD suddenly would also have been a serious safety issue. No one has inspected the vehicle since the incident, this just happened tonight. The vehicle has only 5,700 miles on it, was serviced by the dealer within the last couple hundred miles to repair all outstanding recalls, and I have had no other issues with the vehicle. There was no warning about and issues with the vehicle prior to this incident. The only thing out of the ordinary immediately prior to the incident is that my phone wasn't able to pair to the infotainment system (which never happens). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle did not slow down as intended. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. On another occasion, while attempting to park, the vehicle accelerated and drove over the sidewalk and crashed into the stairs to her residence. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center, where it was due to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The insurance provider was involved and suggested that the contact call the NHTS Hotline and file a safety complaint. The contact mentioned that prior to the crash, the vehicle was inspected for an unknown manufacturer recall, where the dealer informed that the brake inspection passed. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 8,000 |
| Oct 2025 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH up a ramp with an incline in the rain and merging onto the freeway, the accelerator pedal was depressed down to the floorboard, but the vehicle hesitated while responding and slowly accelerated. It was unknown whether a warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that it felt like the transmission was slipping. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,435. | Crash: No Fire: No | 8,435 |
| Oct 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving through a construction zone on Route 81 at 55mph the car suddenly braked extremely hard to 30mph. It was very sudden and slammed me so my seatbelt activated. Fortunately no one was behind me. There was no one in front of me. Concrete lane barriers were on my left side. I have gone through this construction zone many times before and have never had this happen. If this had happened during a week day with traffic it would have caused a severe accident. The collision warning signal came on when the brakes suddenly engaged. I am scheduling an appointment with dealer to see what the cause was. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | ENGINE HAS MALFUNCTIONED TWICE SINCE OWNING. AS OF 10/16 VEHICLE HAS BEEN AS COGGINS HONDA IN ST AUGUSTINE. DEALER TOLD US VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED BY HONDA CORPORATION TECHNICIAN. OTPTION INCLUDE HONDA BUYING VEHICLE BACK IF NO ONE CAN DETERMINE ENGINE FAILURE | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING | The steering wheel malfunctions creating clicking and creaking noises when turning due to defective steering rack, clock spring, and more. I've taken the vehicle to 2 different Honda dealerships. They cannot fix the problem. One Honda dealership has refused to continue to try to fix the problem after multiple attempts. The dealership contacted Honda corporate field representative who told them to stop the repairs despite having a warranty and the problem continuing. This is a known problem impacting thousands of new Hondas. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the Honda Sensing system misread roadway signs like JCT-190, and indicated that the speed limit was 90 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the dealer was aware that the functionality of the speed limit readings was not functioning properly. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109. | Crash: No Fire: No | 109 |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,LANE DEPARTURE | Without any advance warning, at times our Lane Departure Warning system turns off with occasionally having the cruise control suddenly disengage. This could be a real problem when your not expecting it. Emailed Honda and they stated that there was no fix for it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The MPG is advertised at 19-26 and after 3,000 miles I am getting 15-19. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING | I am reporting a serious safety issue with my vehicle related to the steering system. The steering cable reel is binding up, causing difficulty or resistance when turning the steering wheel. This issue affects steering at any speed, making driving unpredictable and unsafe. I am very concerned for my safety, as this could lead to a sudden loss of steering control, putting myself and others at risk. I have brought the vehicle to the dealership, and they have confirmed the problem. They will be replacing the steering cable reel. However, I know there has been many issues with the 2025 Honda Pilot's, and I believe this issue could be another potential defect and may affect other vehicles as well. It needs to be investigated to prevent possible accidents. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving the right center forward collision warning "approaching object" came on with 4 red bars for no reason, repeatedly. Additionally a warning saying "low speed braking control problem. Parking sensor obstructive" came on intermittently. Upon returning home I noticed that two sensors had become dislodged and fallen into the bumper. They appear to only have been held on by double sided tape. There are no obvious signs of impact, I have not had any collision, and the vehicle was purchased new. The failure appears to be one of the following 3 potential issues: 1) It could possibly be a very poor design choice, by Honda, to tape the parking sensors onto the vehicle. I don't understand why the mounting was not engineered to be injection molded as part of the lower garnish. That would easily reduce the vehicle parts count. 2) It may also be a poor decision in materials by the manufacturer. Honda may have specified an inferior adhesive that is incapable of sustaining the forces involved, or not capable of withstanding the exterior climate. 3) Least likely, but still possible, is the possibility that Honda's trusted retail partner, Conicelli Honda 19428, sold me a car with pre-existing damage that was not disclosed. A malfunctioning safety systems is dangerous to both the driver, other vehicles, and human life. Not only are the excessive malfunctioning notification a distraction to the driver, if a child was to run out in front of the vehicle, the vehicle would not recognize them and they could be hurt. Additionally if it triggers any other safety features such as automatic breaking, it could cause accident, especially if multiple vehicles in the road are experiencing the same issue. I look forward to a resolution. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | When i stepped on the gas after starting the car, my car suddenly accelerated and there this 25 mph warning popped up in my dashboard. After stepping my brake the car slowed down but I can still see the 25 mph on the dashboard. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | AIR BAGS,SERVICE BRAKES,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Multiply communication failures with the CAN Communication failures found across ECM/PCM/TCM and sensor issues with ADAS components. The vehicle had a surge acceleration after a stop sign and when the auto start stop engaged the vehicle surged forward and, in an effort, to control the vehicle side swiped another vehicle before crashing into a home. Engine was still surging after multiple efforts to stop the engine surge. The engine stopped the surge after hitting the park button multiple times. NO warning lights or sounds and no air bags deployed. The vehicle has been repaired by a body shop and inspected by the manufacturer. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | STEERING | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 5 MPH and making a left turn, the power steering assist failed without warning. The driver attempted to complete the turn; however, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle while the vehicle was drifting into oncoming traffic. The driver was able to steer the vehicle off to the shoulder of the road, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a defective inner tie rod and inner tie rod alignment. There were no recalls or warranties on the vehicle for the failure. The contact was provided with an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 19,000 |
| Sep 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | At specific locations, the vehicle infotainment display will disconnect from a paired phone, causing the driver to lose GPS and phone based audio. This is distracting because you tend to look at the radio to see what the issue is. The unit automatically reconnects within ~60 seconds, however during that time the display instructs you to connect via a cable, which is distracting while driving. Additionally, connecting a cable does not solve the issue. I have attempted to connect my phone via a USB cable before the reset occurs, however when I pass these specific locations, the reset still occurs. The issue is repeatable and occurs at specific geographic locations, suggesting there are RF emissions in that location that cause Electro-magnetic Interference. The radio system that Honda uses appears to have a susceptibility to radiated emissions. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic signal, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle then jolted forward into gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but only occurred while stopped at a traffic signal. The contact turned off the engine START/STOP feature manually. The contact stated that the vehicle was restarted after failing to respond properly. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,100. | Crash: No Fire: No | 1,100 |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The vehicle intermittently thinks it is about to be involved with a collision. It illuminates the brake warning lights and slams on the brakes on its own and brings the car to a complete stop. We almost got rear ended by a semi truck the first time this happened and we were on a highway. Traffic had to take evasive action to prevent an accident. Honda is aware of this issue and admits their is a problem and has informed us their is no fix for it yet. Honda case # [XXX] and Joel is our point of contact at the Honda outreach program. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) The vehicle is unsafe to drive and is going to get us hurt or killed or others as well. The vehicle has only 1,700 miles on it and is brand new. The last incident timeframe is listed below but it has happened quite a few times with no traffic present and clear roads. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE | This vehicle shut down while driving. Initially it would not restart. When it did restart all the indicator lights were on in the dash. I got to a safe location and I shut it off. I opened and closed the driver's door. When I turned it back on it was back to normal. I had it towed to the dealer because I was concerned about driving it. They found nothing wrong. I am concerned about driving this vehicle anywhere. I feel it will happen again. It's just a matter of time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | After driving over a railroad crossing, all driver safety systems disabled, brake system error, AWD torque distribution stopped and stated only FWD worked, and power steering stopped working. Was unable to manuever vehicle and had to ease vehicle over. Was able to stop the vehicle and shut it off. Restarted vehicle and power steering came back but other lights remained. Another few minutes went by and systems all returned to normal. This issue caused driver to lose all control of vehicle and thankfully didn't crash since vehicle was only traveling roughly 20 mph. If this happened at highway speed, there would be no way to safely stop the vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | STEERING | Steering wheel "clicks" at low-speed turns. This began at 1,500 miles. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership three times for a repair and the clicking returns each time approximately one week after the repair. Concerned that the steering wheel will lose connection with the steering column. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Uncommanded braking at approximately 35 mph. 7-8 instances. All on same 1mile stretch of road. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | The issue is that the rear light on both sides has a sharp plastic edge and I’ve actually cut myself on it twice. I took it to the dealer, and they said they couldn’t really replace it because it’s the same on other Honda Pilots, so it seems to be a common issue. Basically, it’s a safety concern with that sharp edge. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
