| Jan 2026 | STEERING | On 1/18 I was dropping my daughter off at Chicopee High School when I took left to front street I heard a snap and the car took me to the right direction causing my rim to be damaged. The Tired Rob broke. I called Roadside they tow the car to Curry Honda in Chicopee mass. Today when I called Cury Honda one of the managers insisted that I hit a poth hole without me explaining and saying this never happened when online there’s been customers complaining with the same situation 2023 -2025 with Honda pilots experience the same issue. It’s a safety matter where it could been worse me in the car with 4 of my children, | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL | Some Drive Assist Systems cannot operate: Clean Area shown. This message keeps appearing without any weather factors or anything to cause it. Happens nearly daily while using adaptive cruise. Then the next day without doing anything (like cleaning area) it starts working. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | I’ve had to replace the puddle lamp bulbs on my Honda Pilot three times so far, and I purchased it brand new less than a year ago. My local dealer would not cover this under the bumper to bumper warranty either. It would seem that this is a prevalent issue with Honda Pilots and other model Honda/Acura vehicles if this forum post is accurate: [XXX] You would think that after a few years Honda would’ve redesigned/corrected the casting so that water intrusion isn’t an issue, but that has not happened. This is disappointing for a “reliable” car brand. Can anything be done to at least acknowledge this is an issue? | Jan 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | This is an update to my previous entry regarding my 2025 Honda Pilot. The car dealership brought the Pilot back to us in February, 2025, stating there was nothing more they could do and told us it was unfixable. From February until current, we continue to experience the same safety concerns: We will be driving it on the highway, going 70 mph, the Pilot brakes hard to half its speed, and all safety features are disabled. Every single time we drive it. We are left with only the gas and brakes. It will randomly come back to full function, sometimes it takes 15 minutes, sometimes it's 45 minutes. This occurs in clear weather where nothing is blocking the radar. We are fearful that it's only a matter of time before we get hit from behind. There is no way to disengage the Adaptive Cruise Control in this vehicle and have standard cruise control. Honda has stated that it is not "unsafe enough" for them to help us. I never imagined I would spend this kind of money on a new vehicle and be fearful of driving it. And that there is no solution to fix it. They took our money and have been completely unethical. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | VISIBILITY | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the front windshield was cracked. The contact stated that a rock or stone had most likely hit the windshield. The vehicle was taken to the auto glass center, and the windshield was replaced. After the repair, the contact noticed that the windshield was cracked at its base. The contact noticed that the lower half of the windshield was cracked, and the crack expanded from one inch to three inches rapidly. The vehicle was taken to the auto glass center, where the contact was informed that the glass needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who declined to take responsibility and referred the contact to the insurance company because the VIN was included in a related recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 5,000 |
| Dec 2025 | ENGINE | Vehicle was driving normally when the engine failed and lost power. The vehicle following nearly rear ended ours. Pulled the car over into a side street and tried to restart with no success. Emission control problem warning displayed. Called road side assistance and had the vehicle towed to the dealer from where it was purchased. Dealer contacted us an told us that the engine had seized an would need a new motor. The vehicle was 7 days old and had 160 miles on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | 160 |
| Dec 2025 | STEERING | All of the lights on the dash came on and the power steering stopped working while driving on the highway. I was in the number one lane and had to merge across four lanes to pull over with no power steering. I shut the car off and waited a few minutes. The lights were still on the dash but the power steering was working. This is the second time this has happened in the last two weeks. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Vehicle: 2025 Honda Pilot VIN: 5FNYG1H44SB075283 Mileage: ~6,328 miles Summary of Safety Defect: Serious acceleration failure combined with existing safety recalls (brake pedal pivot pin defect and improperly routed third-row seat belt). Vehicle hesitates, fails to accelerate when needed, and creates dangerous crossing and merging conditions. Detailed Description: I own a 2025 Honda Pilot that is currently subject to multiple safety recalls, including the brake pedal pivot pin recall and the third-row seat belt routing defect. In addition to these known defects, the vehicle has a severe and unpredictable acceleration failure that creates a significant safety hazard. On December 10, 2025, I attempted to turn left onto a main road from a complete stop. When I pressed the accelerator, the vehicle failed to accelerate quickly enough to clear oncoming traffic. The throttle response was delayed, sluggish, and unresponsive for several seconds. An oncoming driver had to brake hard to avoid hitting my vehicle. This was a near-collision and placed me and others in immediate danger. This hesitation and lack of power has occurred multiple times when: Turning left across traffic Merging onto highways Changing lanes at speed Attempting to accelerate from a stop The vehicle does not respond appropriately or consistently when pressing the accelerator. This is especially dangerous in situations requiring timely throttle response to avoid collisions. Combined with the existing factory safety recalls, this creates a serious and ongoing safety risk. A new vehicle should not fail to accelerate when entering or crossing traffic. I have already notified Honda in writing. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this issue, as I believe this is a defect affecting the safe operation of the vehicle, particularly in situations requiring quick acceleration. This defect is significant enough that I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | The rear windshield on our 2025 Honda Pilot spontaneously shattered. We have owned it approximately 2 months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The evap canister keeps tripping the engine light. I've had it repaired multiple times, but the code keeps triggering saying there's a leak in the EVAP canister. With the engine light triggering, it reduces power to the vehicle, and cause it to bog down slightly which is a big safety concern while traveling. I brought it to Ocean Honda of Brockton, MA multiple times and nothing has worked. The code/engine light continues to trigger. No other symptoms occurred prior to the issues. This has been ongoing for about 6 months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL | After driving my car from the dealer after purchase all the safety features have warning lights on the dash. Break system error ,electric power steering problem ,road departure mitigation problem, collision mitigation problem, lane keep assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, tsa problem, hill start assist problem, vsa problem, abs problem, electric parking brake problem. Its seems like all of the safety features are not working. i took the car to the dealer and said it was just a battery issue, they went ahead and replace the battery but it was still the same, all the error message came out soon after driving from the dealer service department. After that they said they will replace the speed wheel sensor. I got my car back hopefully that resolved the issues. This cars should not pass QC, this problem happened right after driving the vehicle of the dealer lot after purchase. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at 30-35 MPH, an abnormal alarm sound could be heard coming from the crash imminent braking system. The contact stated that the vehicle braked independently. The contact depressed the brake pedal. The contact stated that there were no vehicles in front. The message "brake" was displayed on the dashboard. The vehicle resumed functioning as intended afterwards. The contact sustained minor injuries, possibly whiplash. and neck pain. The contact was able to arrive at the residence without any incident. The contact stated that it was the third time the failure had occurred. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEAT BELTS,SERVICE BRAKES | They sold me a vehicle with a recall. They failed to notify me or to repair. I need a replacement car | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | STEERING | I began driving the vehicle and the steering locked up. An error message presented stating that there was an issue with the steering and to see the dealer. This is a severe safety issue. Kids were in the car and this could have lead to a severe accident. It has been inspected and confirmed by Fox Honda Grand Rapids. There were no indicators/warnings prior to the incident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING | The automatic braking will brake unintentionally while driving on the highway or street. The vehicle will brake suddenly without warning. It will do this in all kind of conditions. It happens when there are no vehicles around as well. This is very scary and it has almost gotten us into accidents. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ENGINE | My vehicle has 1,500 miles on it. Last time I drove it from work back home was Friday 11/21 and nothing was wrong. Got back in the car Sunday 11/23 and my engine light was blinking and all kinds of warnings were displaying such as engine, break, and steering problems. My wife and I noticed the car vibrating a lot and I had to drive 20mph. If not the car felt like it was going to shut down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | My 2025 Honda Pilot (purchased Oct 2024) has experienced three windshield cracks, all starting in the same lower driver-side corner near the inspection stickers. 1st crack – July 2025: A long horizontal crack appeared overnight while parked, with no impact point at all. Dealer claimed “impact damage” and refused warranty. 2nd crack – August 2025: After paying for an OEM replacement and Honda Sensing calibration, the new windshield cracked on the drive home from a very small road debris impact. The star-shaped crack spread rapidly to the edge. Glass shop staff informally said the first crack looked like a stress crack. They replaced the glass again with OEM and calibrated, offering their labor for free. Dealer declined to pay even for only glass itself and told us to talk to Honda USA. We contacted Honda USA by phone, received a case number, and were told to “deal with the dealer.” The dealer then told us to contact Honda USA again. Neither party investigated, and both said the windshield is “not covered.” 3rd crack – November 2025: A tiny debris impact again caused a crack in the same exact corner. The impact chip was extremely small, but the crack still spread more than normal. All photos attached with repair invoices. We paid out of pocket as our insurance does not cover OEM glass. The repeated cracking in the identical corner, including one with no impact, suggests a possible structural stress point, mounting issue, or overly thin/brittle OEM glass. I also found another NHTSA complaint from June 2024 reporting similar cracking on a 2025 Pilot. These repeated failures pose a visibility and safety risk on a new vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Pilot stalled out while driving all the warning lights started flashing on dashboard the steering wheel locked . I turned vehicle off for a few minutes turned it back on and was able to drive it back home with hazards on took it to the dealership they can’t find anything wrong | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Tonight, 11/8/2025 at 7pm MT, while traveling straight at 25-30 mph, power steering suddenly failed and vehicle reported that AWD failed with only front wheels powered. Many other failure warnings simultaneously appeared on dash (collision detection, LKAS, parking assist, etc). The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My family's safety was put at risk. Sudden loss of power steering is very surprising to the driver, combined with the dash reporting a multitude of failure warnings all at once. If we had been driving on the freeway at speed or in the middle of a turn this would have been a very serious safety issue, easily leading to a collision given the sudden change in steering input needed. If traveling in snow or ice, losing AWD suddenly would also have been a serious safety issue. No one has inspected the vehicle since the incident, this just happened tonight. The vehicle has only 5,700 miles on it, was serviced by the dealer within the last couple hundred miles to repair all outstanding recalls, and I have had no other issues with the vehicle. There was no warning about and issues with the vehicle prior to this incident. The only thing out of the ordinary immediately prior to the incident is that my phone wasn't able to pair to the infotainment system (which never happens). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle did not slow down as intended. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. On another occasion, while attempting to park, the vehicle accelerated and drove over the sidewalk and crashed into the stairs to her residence. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center, where it was due to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The insurance provider was involved and suggested that the contact call the NHTS Hotline and file a safety complaint. The contact mentioned that prior to the crash, the vehicle was inspected for an unknown manufacturer recall, where the dealer informed that the brake inspection passed. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 8,000 |
| Oct 2025 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH up a ramp with an incline in the rain and merging onto the freeway, the accelerator pedal was depressed down to the floorboard, but the vehicle hesitated while responding and slowly accelerated. It was unknown whether a warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that it felt like the transmission was slipping. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,435. | Crash: No Fire: No | 8,435 |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | ENGINE HAS MALFUNCTIONED TWICE SINCE OWNING. AS OF 10/16 VEHICLE HAS BEEN AS COGGINS HONDA IN ST AUGUSTINE. DEALER TOLD US VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED BY HONDA CORPORATION TECHNICIAN. OTPTION INCLUDE HONDA BUYING VEHICLE BACK IF NO ONE CAN DETERMINE ENGINE FAILURE | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING | While driving through a construction zone on Route 81 at 55mph the car suddenly braked extremely hard to 30mph. It was very sudden and slammed me so my seatbelt activated. Fortunately no one was behind me. There was no one in front of me. Concrete lane barriers were on my left side. I have gone through this construction zone many times before and have never had this happen. If this had happened during a week day with traffic it would have caused a severe accident. The collision warning signal came on when the brakes suddenly engaged. I am scheduling an appointment with dealer to see what the cause was. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING | The steering wheel malfunctions creating clicking and creaking noises when turning due to defective steering rack, clock spring, and more. I've taken the vehicle to 2 different Honda dealerships. They cannot fix the problem. One Honda dealership has refused to continue to try to fix the problem after multiple attempts. The dealership contacted Honda corporate field representative who told them to stop the repairs despite having a warranty and the problem continuing. This is a known problem impacting thousands of new Hondas. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the Honda Sensing system misread roadway signs like JCT-190, and indicated that the speed limit was 90 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the dealer was aware that the functionality of the speed limit readings was not functioning properly. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109. | Crash: No Fire: No | 109 |
