No existían advertencias previas. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The vehicle has been brought to an authorized dealership for numerous service visits related to electrical system issues that ultimately affected the braking system. During one service visit, the vehicle was returned to me with multiple active dashboard warning lights illuminated related to the braking system, including Electronic Stability Control and Automatic Emergency Braking. I questioned the presence of these warning at pickup and was advised by the dealer that the vehicle was safe to drive and that the warnings would clear on their own. After driving the vehicle for a short period, I became uncomfortable continuing to operate it with brake-related warning lights still active and returned it to the dealer. Upon further diagnosis by a service technician, it was discovered that the vehicle has significant brake system defects requiring replacement of major components, including the brake control module and master cylinder. During diagnosis, the brakes locked and the parking brake would not disengage, rendering the vehicle undrivable. No collision or injury occurred. However, the vehicle was released to me with active brake system warnings and later found to have serious brake defects. Due to the safety-critical nature of the braking system and the repeated electrical and brake-related service history, I am reporting this for documentation and review. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Vehicle currently at dealership for ESC, brake system and ABS warning lights coming on. Unable to use cruise control once these lights came on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle shifted into LIMP Mode, causing the vehicle to decelerate unintendedly. During the failure the headlights and the interior lights flashed and flickered, and the ABS, traction control, and several unknown messages were displayed. While depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal extended to the floor and the vehicle failed to immediately stop. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who recharged the battery and performed a software update to the Crucial Control Module. The contact stated that three weeks later the same failure had reoccurred. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,995. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 9,995 |
| Jan 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving on the interstate, the anti-collision system activated when a car swerved in front of the vehicle. The vehicle stopped and resulted in a brake failure after that. All brake warning lights came on the dash, message stating brake failure and drive with caution and limited speed was displayed. Brakes were no longer working properly. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | Brakes have squeaked since the day we bought our brand new vehicle. I have contacted the dealers and called corporate. The answer I have received from both is”it is the material they are making the brake pads out of.” We paid over $50,000.00 for our vehicle and do not want to deal with squeaky brakes all the time. They will not do anything about it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I own a 2025 GMC Traverse purchased in July 2025. The vehicle is experiencing ongoing electrical system issues. The GPS and OnStar systems are inoperative, including vehicle location services. The vehicle cannot connect to OnStar or detect a Wi-Fi connection. In addition, the adaptive cruise control is not functioning properly. These systems have been inoperative for approximately 4 weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and I was informed that parts are required, but no repair timeline has been provided. The loss of GPS, OnStar emergency services, and adaptive cruise control presents a safety concern, as emergency response, vehicle tracking, and driver assistance features are unavailable while driving. The issue remains unresolved. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | My vehicle experienced a brake system failure that rendered it unsafe to drive and required it to be towed to the dealership. I have been informed by the dealer that the issue involves a failure of the left rear brake caliper. The vehicle is currently out of service at the dealership. Because this issue affects the braking system, it is a significant safety concern. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | POWER TRAIN | Since new vehicle vibrates when first started and placed in reverse | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EQUIPMENT | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that immediately after purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle experienced several electrical failures, including the On-Star module malfunctioning. The On-Star module was replaced twice. During the failures, the cruise control feature became inoperable, and the computer updates were not received. Additionally, the battery became drained several times, and the vehicle needed to be jump-started. The contact also indicated the shark fin antenna had ejected from the vehicle while driving. The vehicle also abruptly stopped while driving on several occasions, and while driving, there was an abnormal metallic scraping sound coming from the engine compartment. The radiator hose had failed, causing coolant to leak from the vehicle. The hose was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 44,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 44,000 |
| Jan 2026 | STRUCTURE | The component that failed was the "shark fin" antenna cover. This houses the radio signal and hands free driving signals. The shark fin can be a safety concern if the cover fall off at higher speeds. The problem was reported to the dealer but was told it wasn't covered under warranty. It wasn't covered because according to them, I drive my car through automatic car washes. The antenna cover is not properly glued or clipped correctly. There has been no car failures or messages. It can cause other issues since the antenna is now exposed. Cannot give a clear answer on when the cover fell off I noticed it early December. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 30 MPH on an expressway, occupied with his wife in the vehicle, seated on the front passenger side, attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as intended, causing the front end of the vehicle to crash with the rear end of the vehicle in front. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal felt abnormally hard and excessive force was applied; however failed to bring the vehicle to a stop, causing the crash. The air bags did deploy. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, the vehicle was then towed to the insurance company. The contact stated she and her husband did not sustain any injuries. No medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 2,000 |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | Driving home coming up to a traffic light - I turned left onto Rd - After turning lost the brakes. Saw message on dashboard along with many others indicators as well. Saw the same message as the previous time ““Brake Assist failure. Press hard to brake. Speed Limited”. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | Driving home - what looked like warning indicators on the dashboard, came on. Lost the ability to brake. Had to push the pedal all the way to the floor to get some braking to happen. A message came on the dashboard “Brake Assist failure. Press hard to brake. Speed Limited”. Once we were able to stop. We turned the car off. then turned it back on. We saw a message on the dashboard to “open the drivers door” and then “roll down the drivers window”. We did that and the car seemed to be normal again | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Antenna- on top of roof- came off in touch free car wash. Upon researching, I’ve seen this is a very common problem with this year model of traverse. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Emergency braking occurs at random, even if I'm the only vehicle / object on the roadway. This has been ongoing and has been to the dealership three times. It starts back up each time the vehicle gets an update. Adaptive cruise will brake hard due to false emergency braking, but does not always stop accelerating at the set point (has gone as high as 20 mph over the set point previously and brakes would not respond during). Vehicle was not starting and "press brake to start" warning was showing even though brake pedal was pressed. Brake master cylinder had to be replaced along with brake module. When picking the vehicle up afterward, warning light came while vehicle was warming up "service brake assist" and then shortly after the yellow-circled ABS dashlight came on. Dealership said this was a new problem and separate from the brake master cylinder and brake module. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | STRUCTURE | The cap to the antennae flew off the car. This could have potentially impacted a car driving behind me, a car passing me, and/or hit a pedestrian walking. There was no warning. The part has since been replaced however the dealer indicated other vehicles are having this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | All connected services do not work. The car cannot receive any updates to software/hardware posing potential safety issues. There was no warning. They all just stopped working. The vehicle was brought to the dealer in the beginning of October 2025 and I still do not have a fix or solution or potential timeline. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 2025 Traverse ABS brake system failed, and master cylinder broke at 12K. All of the safety features, Lane Departure, Forward Crash detection, blind spot, automatic braking system all stop working with no signs that it was failing! Extremely unsafe! Traverse are meant to be family vehicles, well with major functions failures this kind of problem is going be recipe for disaster if not recalled ASAP. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,VISIBILITY/WIPER | Beginning in May 2025, my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse began exhibiting a false “rear liftgate open” condition when the liftgate is fully closed. This defect triggers a continuous audible alarm that occurs before every drive and persists for the entire duration of the drive, stopping only when the vehicle is turned off. As a result of this defect, the rear windshield wiper and washer are disabled, eliminating rear visibility during rain and snow. The vehicle alarm system also cannot be armed, creating a security risk. The continuous alarm causes significant driver distraction, and the loss of rear visibility impairs safe operation of the vehicle, particularly in adverse weather. Minor children are frequent passengers, and the defect has occurred while they were in the vehicle. The vehicle has been presented to an authorized Chevrolet dealership on four separate occasions for the same issue. Multiple repair attempts, including diagnostics, software updates, component replacement, and latch assembly replacement, have failed to correct the defect. Because the alarm cannot be armed, the vehicle was left unsecured and was subsequently broken into, resulting in theft of personal property. General Motors has been notified and declined repurchase, directing me back to repeated diagnostics despite the unresolved safety-related defect. Problem Category: Electrical System Visibility / Wipers Warning Systems Vehicle Safet | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Onstar telematics control module not working. Dealer says part is in back order. Some vehicle safety features are not available. GPS not available. When my phone is connected via android auto my GPS some times show my location as being in New Jersey while I'm actually in New York and nowhere close to the location shown. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I started the vehicle to move it to a different place in my driveway and after putting it in reverse, it notified me that the ABS was not working. I could not stop the vehicle without pressing the brakes very hard and even then it was still rolling backward slowly. I quickly put the vehicle in park before the car rolled into my house. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, the brakes independently activated. In addition, the driver's seat vibrated, and the instrument panel was illuminated red. The message "Pedestrian Nearby" was displayed. The contact stated that there were no pedestrians nearby. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the week prior to the failure, the vehicle was at the dealer, where the Telematics Control Module was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,926. | Crash: No Fire: No | 7,926 |
