| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | My car randomly started alerting me of “ECS service” & “Brake assist service”. The dealership essentially did nothing even though there is an active recall on the 2024 models. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | At approximately 30,000 miles, upon starting my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse LT, the brake pedal traveled completely to the floorboards with zero resistance. Simultaneously, the 'Service Brake Assist' warning message appeared. This loss of hydraulic pressure occurred while stationary. This follows a dealership visit one week prior for a 'glitchy' check engine light that was dismissed by service staff. The vehicle is being towed via flatbed to the dealership as it is unsafe to operate. Additionally, the vehicle has exhibited abnormally 'touchy' brake response and a persistent high-pitched squeal from the front assembly since purchase. These symptoms suggest a failure of the e-Boost braking system and/or internal master cylinder seals, consistent with Service Update N242482170. This defect poses an immediate risk of total brake failure during operation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Onstar Module not working/backorder | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | We drove the Traverse 55 miles to a baseball game. When we got in the car to return home several warning lights appeared on the instrument display and there was an audible warning sound. The message “Service ESC” and “Brake assist failure” appeared on the instrument display panel. We couldn’t find a dealership that was open on Saturday so we cautiously drove 55 miles home. The brake pedal was hard to push and had to be pushed all the way to the floor to stop the vehicle. We could not drive faster than 62 MPH on the way home and I had to start braking early in order to be able to come to a complete stop at stop lights. Cruise control isn’t working either and the audible alarm sounds off every couple of minutes. We took the car to our local dealership this morning. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the red "Service Brake Assist Warning" light and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) message were displayed. Additionally, the yellow ABS, Cruise Control, and Traction Control warning lights were illuminated. Due to the failure, the contact returned to the residence and parked the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and agreed to have the vehicle towed from the residence to the dealer. The dealer performed a diagnostic and retrieved DTC: C055F, for the brake master cylinder failure. The dealer informed the contact of Technical Service Bulletin: 25-NA-240; and the failure was associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 11,000 |
| Apr 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I was driving through the tollbooth on the bayway in [XXX] , I stepped on the brake to slow down and all kinds of warning lights lit up in the car showing the brakes were not working. Anything automatic with the brakes failed. I had to stand on the brakes to get the Traverse to stop. The issue was confrmed to be the master brake cylinder I was lucky they had it in stock at Maher Chevrolet in St Petersburg. My grandson was supposed to be in this car the next day driving over the skyway bridge. The safety of children is being compromised. Please issue a recall!!!!! | Apr 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ENGINE | Vehicle: 2025 Chevrolet Traverse On [XXX] at approximately [XXX], while driving south on [XXX] , my vehicle suddenly shut off without warning resulting in a complete electrical failure. During this event, I lost the ability to accelerate, activate hazard lights, unlock doors, open or close windows, or use the OnStar system. The vehicle restarted briefly but then shut off two additional times before I could safely move it off the road. There were no warning messages or signals prior to this incident. This created a serious and immediate safety hazard, as I was unable to alert other drivers or exit the vehicle during the failure. I am requesting a formal investigation into this issue, documentation as a safety defect, and immediate corrective action. This incident poses a significant risk to driver and passenger safety. The vehicle has been towed to the dealership it was purchased from. The problem has not been confirmed or reproduced by the service center. | Apr 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | Master cylinder failure at 15,000 miles on 4/13/2026 Safety risk of Potential brake system failure. Taken to dealership on 4/13/2026, as of today 4/16/2026, master cylinder has been replaced but now the vehicle is rejecting the part, per the dealership. ABS light and brake light illuminated at the time of failure. No other car symptoms noted. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STRUCTURE | The shark fin antenna cover became loose. The antenna then fell off at some point while driving. This coming off while driving poses a risk to others on the road as it may have fallen off and hit someone else. The only “warning” it gave was stating the emergency call system failure. When googling I found out what the problem may be from. After looking further there are multiple Chevy traverse owners with the same issue after going through a car wash. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle with the Push-To-Start feature, the vehicle failed to start as intended, and the battery was drained. In addition, AAA Roadside Assistance arrived at the residence to recharge the battery. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was determined that the On-Star module was draining the battery, preventing the low power mode from activating. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 13,000 |
| Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal metal-on-metal sound coming from the front brakes. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer lubed the brakes; however, the failure persisted, and the abnormal grinding sound had worsened. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. However, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer lubed the brakes and informed the contact that the failure was common with the vehicle. The contact stated that the sound worsened. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 7,000 |
| Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | Master Brake Cylinder is defective. Multiple caution lights illuminated. (Service ESC, Service Brake Assist, Cruise Control Inoperative) Ed Morse Chevrolet and Brad Deery Motors have both confirmed the brake cyclinder being defective. Ed Morse advised not ordering the same brake cylinder as they are known issues from factory, they advised me to wait for the recall or a re-engineered part to be produced by GM. Brad Deery Motors knew nothing about this and they are currently putting the OEM master brake cylinder back on the car. I believe they are putting a known defective component back on my brand-new vehicle. There is currently a law suit in Pennsylvania. | Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The first component to fail was the brake booster module which controls the ABS, forward collision, adaptive braking, adaptive cruise, traction control system, etc. The malfunction started when the forward collision assist activated to prevent me from hitting a deer in the road. We avoided hitting the deer but all of those lights came on immediately. We contact Friendship Chevrolet the dealer we bought the car from had us bring it in to be checked. They confirmed the defective Module and said that it was a reported issue that GM had it's engineers looking at. They said they would have to wait for the part to arrive, advised that we could continue to drive the car even though there was a major malfunction with the critical braking systems. did not offer any type of loaner to ensure my family's safety. We had to wait for more than 30 days for them to receive the part and complete the repair still driving this unsafe vehicle because we had no other choice considering how high the MSRP & payment is on the vehicle. Once the repair was finally completed we immediately began to notice that the brakes were consistently screeching when in slow moving traffic like car rider pick up line. I reported the issue to the dealership and they gave me the answer that it was due to a more abrasive brake pad being used due to it being a passenger vehicle and it's weight. We continued to deal with the squeaking for months then we noticed a coolant leak. Dealership again said had to wait for part. After they did not contact me back I contacted GM and opened a case. When they got it in I also had them change the brakes out of my own pocket. Now the brakes squeak anytime pressure is applied and when coming to a complete stop they grind so loud you can hear and feel them digging in. GM still says nothing is wrong and brakes are a maintenance charge and are not covered for any reason. I feel the vehicle is still extremely unsafe and my family is at risk of possible crash. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Check engine light came on with limited acceleration vehicle, then proceeded to overheat several times having to pull over to the side of the road in very dangerous locations vehicle was brought to dealership and it was determined it was a coolant pump. It was replaced under warranty. I want it to be known that there was an issue as others I have heard our ex experiencing the same. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | Turned on vehicle on 3/2/2026 and received a message stating "Anti-lock break system failure. Drive slow and stop cautiously." I test drove my vehicle in my local neighborhood and discovered that my brakes were only functioning at about 20% and would only respond if the brake petal was pressed all the way down. My car was towed to the local dealership to be assessed and was determined to need Reservoir 4.651, Cylinder 4.650, and Fluid 8.800 when it was picked up on 3/6/2026. Under further review of this report I came to discover a class action lawsuit for this vehicle make and model relating to cylinder part #85762161. I am unsure if my original part was that part number, but my experience closely mirrors other's that have been reported for the same issue and part repair. The part that was also replaced in my vehicle after the repair was part #85762161. Some individuals in this lawsuit have reported 100% brake failure. I am fearful to continue driving the vehicle knowing that there could still be ongoing issues with the part that directly relates to the brakes. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I was driving at night on a dark road My truck showed “ Brake assist failure. Press hard to brake. Speed limited.” I tried to step on the brakes & the truck didn’t stop. I was able to eventually turn the truck off & when I restarted it was fine. Luckily it wasn’t a busy street or that I didn’t have my 3 kids with me because it could’ve ended differently. I set an appointment at my dealership & when I went to start my truck again 1. It was dead and 2 when I jumped it, that same message popped up again & my truck was towed to the dealership on 2.25 & I haven’t heard back from the dealership since with an update. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | Initially, the engine would intermittently fail to start and at times would not start at all. I took the vehicle to a certified Chevrolet service center, where the battery was tested and found to be functioning properly. They later concluded that a faulty front-view camera was disrupting the electrical system and ordered a replacement (my first visit was Friday, 9/26/25). I took the car home for the weekend due to family obligations. On Monday, 9/29, while driving back to the service center, the engine suddenly shut off on a local road. The brakes went completely to the floor for 3–5 seconds before the engine restarted—just before I nearly collided with another vehicle at a red light. I reported this immediately, and the dealership kept the car for further testing. On Thursday, 10/2, they informed me they found no additional issues and believed the camera was the root cause. However, the problem persisted. On Sunday, 10/5, while stopped at a red light at Hawthorn St. and Memorial Dr., the engine shut off again as I began to accelerate. The brakes sank to the floor, and I had no steering control for approximately 5–7 seconds before the vehicle restarted. My wife and I were extremely shaken, especially with our children in the car. On Monday, 10/6, we contacted roadside assistance to tow the vehicle back to the service center. After additional testing, we were informed that the battery had failed this time and was replaced. However, replacing the battery does not reassure us that the engine and braking system will not fail again while driving, or the brake failure would happen again when the battery is low - which poses a serious safety risk to our family. When my wife called GM to report this issue, all they offered was 200 points worth of rewards....We originally bought this car for safety, but not this has been compromised and we no longer feel safe. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am happy to provide any additional information if needed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | STRUCTURE | Purchased the traverse January 10, 2026 with almost 26k miles on it. Approximately one month later, only 1200 miles or so into owning it, the shark fin antenna cover came off and is missing. It’s not the entire antenna that is hooked into the car, it’s only the plastic cover that covers up the electronics. This plastic piece randomly flying off the car put other motorists at risk, due to the plastic cover potentially striking another vehicles windshield distracting them from keeping their eyes on the roadway, striking another motorists vehicle causing damage to said vehicle, or even striking a person walking down the street potentially resulting in physical harm! I have talked with GM dealerships about this issues along with reading that numerous people have had the same issue, and they have yet to fix the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | While driving, ABS, traction control, ESC, forward collision, and AWD alerts were indicated by the car. At the time it had 10 months in service and approximately 12,800 miles accumulated. After 17 days at the dealers service department and a direct call to GM the brake master cylinder and associated components were replaced. I've seen several reports of this generation of Traverse having this same issue for other owners at low mileage. I want to file this report to ensure that NHSTA is aware of this serious safety concern that could result in loss of braking power. It appears to be widespread and not addressed by any recall and dating back to the 2024 model year change to the most recent generation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I turned my vehicle on and my brakes, ABS, traction control and anti collision lights all came on. Upon research this is a known problem in 2025 and a recall in 2024. It did in fact end up being the master cylinder and brake system that faulted | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
