| May 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | 2024 limited, Hesitation when pressing accelerator. There will be no power for some time. then a sudden jolt of acceleration. The most memorable moments of this is when trying to turn left into a neighborhood while cross traffic is oncoming, trying to drive but the truck wont go. The indicator “Add or replace oil” comes on even just after being to the dealer to have my 15000 mile service checkup.I have only had oil changes at the dealer. The trucks brand new and costs too damn much to not have the dealer take care of this. Can see blue/gray smoke out of the tail pipe - proving the engines burning oil. I pointed this out and took video while dropping it off at the dealer, they acknowledged. Frequent rough starts, not every one but 3 out of 5, always accompanied by the smoke. Shifting is far too rough. From a stop to easing on the accelerator there is a large knock, smacking into gear. This isnt always accompanied by the hesitation either. The rough shifting occurs at highway speeds too. The dealership has had my truck 3 days tomorrow and the only information they give me is; “ the technician cant fix it without having to talk (back and forth {like phone tag}) directly with the engineers.” The only recall is for moisture accumulation in the reverse lights. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | POWER TRAIN | When I shift out of N or P into drive there is loud and aggressive clunk. Like the tranny is gonna drop out the bottom! It’s a tight grip, the shifter doesn’t want to move. Potential to run someone in a car park or walking down the sidewalk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | The vehicle has acceleration hesitation. Sometimes when trying to go from a complete stop the vehicle is almost dead and doesn’t move then it feels as if the “clutch was popped “ in a manual but it is an automatic. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I am experiencing a recurring issue with my 2024 Toyota Tundra’s fuel gauge. Specifically, when the vehicle is parked on an incline, the fuel gauge resets to indicate a full tank, regardless of the actual fuel level. For instance, after parking on a hill with approximately half a tank, the gauge displayed full upon restarting the vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Intermittent hesitation issues. Most of the time, happens when accelerating from a stop, but sometimes will happen when trying to accelerate when going to an on-ramp, for example. Hard to tell if transmission, or fuel related problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Acceleration hesitation every time I push the accelerator | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ENGINE | Vehicle hesitates/loses power on take of from a stop started happening about 2 months ago 3/1/2025. Which causes the care to stop at intersections making it a huge risk to the passengers and other cars. Then last week the car had a low oil light. Dropped vehicle off at dealer they found no leaks or issues and added oil to the car and said to drive for another 1k miles and bring it back. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Anytime I come to a yield/traffic circle and do not have to come to a complete stop, when I push the accelerator there is a hesitation and then the truck lurches forward. It happens quite often when I slow down to 5mph give or take before accelerating again. I would estimate it has happened 50 times since I have owned the truck which I bought with 300 miles on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | The truck has a very pronounced hesitation to accelerate after slowing down or coming to a stop. Example: slow down, come to a stop at a stop sign and then accelerating to start moving. This situation happens daily and almost on every occasion after slowing or stopping. It has gotten worse over time and this issue has put me and my family in very dangerous and scary situations as the truck does not accelerate promptly and oncoming traffic is getting closer. It really has made me concerned to drive my truck and feel unsafe doing so, especially with my family. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | ENGINE | While driving & coming to a complete stop, the vehicle lags like it has no power, this has happened to me more that 7, took it to the dealer, they said they cannot replicate it for me to record it , well that is hard to do, stopping & then giving the vehicle has but there is no power, since taking it to the dealer it has happened more than 5 other times, not sure what else to do, Vehicle has 16,000 miles purchased new . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | ENGINE | Driving home engine light came on. Shut off vehicle and restarted dash lights cleared. Drove home was idling rough. Looked under hood when home and noted oil on the block. Was 4 quarts low took immediately to dealership. They said there was excessive blow by and engine failure. Mileage was 69279. Contacted Toyota they refused to correct problem. They asked if extended warranty was offered and purchased, we did not. They refused to fix the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Gas gauge randomly reset to full tank after parking, despite being less than half full. Without me noticing, this could have caused risk of running out of fuel due to erroneous computer information about the fuel level. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | POWER TRAIN | My truck, which has a build date of July 2024, is having numerous on going episodes of hesitation and throttle lag when transitioning from a complete, or nearly complete stop. The truck was purchased in early October 2024. The hesitation was not noticeable at first. It began presenting itself after about 6 weeks of ownership and 1000 miles. Today, with 4200 miles on the vehicle, it hesitated twice on a 15 mile city trip. There is no rhyme or reason as to when it may present itself...such as warm/cold outside, vehicle warmed up or still cold, or from a rolling or a dead stop. It does appear to be getting more frequent with longer delays in throttle response. I consider this to be a high priority safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I have never experienced this condition in a vehicle before and I have purchased about 15 new vehicles in my lifetime. I am now scheduling an appointment for this matter to be addressed with the dealership. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | A low speeds there is a delay in throttle response. If you come to a stop then step on the accelerator, the vehicle has no response for a short period of time where then it may buck or propel itself to catch up with the missed throttle. I recently picked this vehicle up from the dealer and was told there is no remedy for the issue at this time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Driving down the road, my sunroof exploded. Sun shade was pulled so no injury. Dealer would not diagnose other than saying glass just doesn’t explode so must have been hit by something. I don’t believe that is the case. Easily as likely a manufacturer defect from the factory. I have had the truck for less than a year with 11000 miles | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle made an abnormal sound and failed to stop immediately. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the front brakes needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on backorder. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 3,000 |
| Mar 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | UNKNOWN:Urgent Safety Concern – Speedometer Visibility Issue in 2024 Toyota Tundra To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally raise a significant safety concern regarding the plastic speedometer cover on the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The material used for the speedometer screen is extremely prone to scratching, even under normal driving conditions. Despite using my vehicle exclusively for regular commuting, fine dust and routine cleaning have progressively worsened the visibility of the speedometer display. This issue is not just cosmetic—it is a growing safety hazard. The accumulation of scratches significantly reduces the clarity of speed readings, making it difficult to accurately monitor speed while driving. This can lead to unintended speeding, difficulty maintaining safe driving speeds, and an increased risk of accidents. Given that this problem is occurring under normal use, it is reasonable to assume that other Tundra owners will face similar issues over time, potentially leading to widespread safety concerns. I strongly urge Toyota to investigate this issue immediately and consider a recall or design modification to prevent further degradation of the speedometer visibility. Ensuring that drivers have a clear and unobstructed view of their speed is critical for road safety. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. | Mar 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Vehicle has a persistent transmission issue which causes hesitation/shuddering under acceleration and cruising rpms. Toyota claims issue is software related after 5 trips to dealer. On this particular occasion the vehicle downshifted erratically climbing a steep roadway causing a loss of control in wet conditions activating the vehicle stability control. Vehicle was brought to dealer and Toyota Brand Engagement was notified requesting a remedy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | POWER TRAIN,WHEELS,ENGINE | My Tundra iForce MAX was Toyota saleperson demo truck before I purchased it. Got my truck approx. 2XXX Mileage in late sept. I started noticed transmission vibration while medium acceleration approx. 40 mph in early October. Vibration only occur during transmission warm up. Been attending to 2 dealerships multiple times and they find nothing wrong with my transmission since November 2024. I got Loaner 2024 Tundra iForce recently with same 10 speed transmission, it felt lot smoother and no vibration at all for a whole week before return the loaner. The vibration from my Tundra feels like clutch slippery somewhere from transmission or K0 Clutch. Some time it makes the acceleration feels delay while it was vibrating aka slippery. 2nd problem, I noticed left front tire edge shows sign of start worn out while tire is only have 8k miles on it. Dealership checked the alignment and said nothing found wrong. They recommended me to tire rotation on 5k miles without offer replace tire that is about to show bald on edge. Tire is factory off road package tire aka Falken Wildpeak AT3WA. 3rd problem, during first oil change at 5k miles. I noticed there is oil residue on bottom bell housing between engine and electric motor. Dealership cleaned it and wanted me to come back at 10k miles routine maintenance inspection. Around 6k miles, I took a look at the leak area. Oil came back as seeping. Dealership denied and said there is no leak at this time. Saw the oil residue from their inspection report. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | We are leasing a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The brakes are screeching when we reverse. We reported the issue to the Toyota dealership located on IH 35 , in San Antonio, Texas. We then called and made an appointment to repair the brakes more than a month ago. My husband went to the appointment. He was provided with a courtesy ride back home because the brakes would take most of the day. He no sooner got home and the courtesy taxi was coming back to pick up our Tundra, Toyota service told him that they did not have the brake parts to make the repair and they would call us when they received the parts to make the repair. It has been over a month and we have called several times and spoken to several service people and sales about the bad service. One of the service workers stated that they were waiting for parts and the parts were still not available. This is a very poor and unacceptable excuse. I want to return the Tundra and I want the down payment that I have given when I purchased this vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | AIR BAGS,SEATS | Front Seat Cushion Shield Loose/Broken | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | ENGINE | Jan 29, my truck went into “limp” mode while traveling on the interstate. I was able to move to the side of the road and safely exit the interstate. Took the truck to Right Toyota where they identified a misfire on cylinder 5. They reset the codes and did nothing to the truck when they took the engine apart. They claimed nothing was wrong. On Feb 22, I started the truck and it was running in idle very rough. I went to put the truck in drive and it wouldn’t go. The emergency brake was set and wouldn’t disengage. Took it to Toyota and the code showed cylinder 3 was misfiring. They took the engine apart and found the piston had a score marking. They are replacing the piston as part of the warranty. I am finding posts by other 2024 tundra owners who are having engine problems too. Seems to be an issue but nothing has been recalled yet. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | POWER TRAIN | On light acceleration to maintain speed or flow of traffic, there is a drivetrain shudder the reverberates through the entire truck. It most noticeable when coming up grades of any kind, but can be replicated in most driving situations. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | ENGINE | Transmission smells like burning plastic when towing even a small trailer under 5000 pounds. Toyota refuses there is a problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The fuel gauge displays full tank even though the tank is quarter empty. The local Toyota dealership is unable to resolve this issue. The fuel gauge malfunction happens almost twice a month now. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
