Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Toyota has failed to deliver second key fob for vehicle operation. Purchased vehicle 5/4/24 and keep being told I will be notified in future about when 2nd key fob will be available. Cannot operate vehicle if fob lost and in area with no cell coverage. Dealership and corporate contacts have repeatedly changed the anticipated date of resolution, leaving no real sense of when issue will be resolved.

Aug 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Fuel gauge is showing full when the tank is half empty according to odometer. When the vehicle is parked even on a slight incline the fuel gauge resets to full no matter how empty the tank is. This is a known problem with these vehicle and I am worried about it running out of gas at high speeds. Thank you!

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Fuel gauge will reset itself to full without filling the tank . Has happened on 3 occasions with only 1000 miles on vehicle. Have been to dealership but the explanation from Toyota is it happens due to elevation and direction in which the vehicle is parked. Problem has occurred for me twice when vehicle was parked on a flat surface after driving and once when parked on a slight incline after being parked overnight.Gauge does not return to normal after driving vehicle as it only moves down from full level. Toyota says situation may be due to location of fuel gauge sending unit in fuel tank. Dealership had vehicle for 3 days and replicated the situation. At this time I guess I will have to track road mileage to determine when to get gas and not rely on the fuel gauge. The dealership has been great, but has to rely on what solutions that corporate Toyota will supply them. Will continue to monitor the situation.

Aug 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Reported fuel gauge problem previously in electrical category. Fuel gauge will reset itself to full without filling the gas tank. This has happened on 3 occasions with only 1000 miles on the vehicle. Have been to the dealership on several occasions with no permanent solution so far. First attempt at fix was to reprogram the combination meter and the gauge did accurately show the full level. However the problem reoccurred and brought vehicle back to dealer for 3rd trip and left it for 3 days. Dealer replicated the problem but corporate Toyota said it was due to the position of the sending unit in the tank. Can possibly cause serious problems if I run of of fuel on the highway or local road. Will have to monitor the fuel until Toyota comes up with a fix hopefully.

Jul 2024 WHEELS Factory alignment was out of specification causing premature tire wear. The original factory Toe and Camber angle settings for the front wheels caused "feathering" and premature wear on the outside shoulders of the tires. My VIN was not included in the Service Campaign but per the dealer it was the exact same issue they have observed in other Tundras. I contacted Toyota and was not able to get resolution regarding a new set of tires

Jul 2024 LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION Vehicle panoramic view monitor camera system becomes unresponsive. Error Code U023B87 - Lost communication with ECM/PCM missing image. System error renders all cameras except rear camera inoperable. Rear camera lines are removed. All Parking and Cross Traffic Collision becomes unresponsive and appears to be off. Only warning lamp was "vehicle trailer assist malfunction" within the trailer display. Problem is always occurring, it is not intermittent. Concerns on safety: Inability to utilize parking, cross traffic, and cameras which enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety. Front view camera typically goes on at low to avoid forward blindspot over hood. Without cameras or sensors, may result in collision with low objects or pedestrians such as children on bicycles particularly on large blindspot in front of hood. Failure appeared at 1,800 miles. Toyota dealership inspected and unable to resolve issue. From Tundras.com search with keyword camera, this issue is widespread across the country on model year 2024 with various methods of repair or replacement of software / hardware.

Jul 2024 ENGINE This truck was a 2024 Tundra platinum. I only had the vehicle for 6 weeks and had only driven it for 2000 miles before the truck started sending Low Oil notifications. It threw three of them over the weekend and the dealer I purchased it from was not open and the other local dealers could not get me in. I took the truck to Valvoline to have them check the oil. They recorded the entire process, I have the video evidence of the oil change. At the time of this oil change you can clearly see when they drain the oil in that the truck is low about 4.5-4.7 of the 7.7 quarts of oil in its capacity. 5 days later I get all these errors and I have it towed to the dealer and they are now telling me that the engine is blown and that they will not honor the warranty because it didn’t have a Toyota filter on it, even though it had the correct aftermarket oil filter on it they still elected to deny it and are refusing to do anything for me. This is a leased truck that I bought additional coverage on and they still want me to buy a new engine for roughly $25k. It seems evident that the 2024 Hybrid Tundra motors are also having the same metal shavings in the oil pan. Toyota and the dealer have both treated me like a bastard red headed stepchild and jerked me around for 3 days only to tell me to call some 800 number and that at some point in the future Toyota will send out and engineer to evaluate. Meanwhile I’m without a truck (which I need for my business) dealer won’t give me a loaner and won’t offer to atleast split the rental charges with me. If you look into this engine further you will find that there are countless horror stories of this same engine having the identical 22-23 engine issues. And they won’t give me a formal warranty denial letter so I can take them to court over this. This was my 5th Toyota/Lexus in my 20 years of driving and the way that Toyota and the dealer have treated me is absolutely criminal, they even deleted the low oil notifications so hide the evidenc

Jul 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I previously owned a 2022 Toyota Tundra that had the same fuel gauge malfunction. It was repurchased under the Texas Lemon Law since Toyota was unable to provide a repair after a year and a half. Now I have a 2024 Toyota Tundra with the same malfunction. The fuel gauge on the dashboard will reset to 3/4s to full tank of gas after starting and stay that way until you refuel the truck even though the tank may only have 1/2 tank or close to empty. With each restart of the engine, the fuel gauge still reads 3/4 to full tank. Toyota has been unable to fix this malfunction since the 2022 Tundra model year, 3 years now! SAFETY HAZARD: I do not know how much fuel is in the vehicle. Its like putting a piece of tape over your fuel gauge and driving around and guessing when to fill the vehicle with gas. Right now I track my fuel by resetting my odometer each time at the gas station and refilling at 400 miles. Towing would be a whole new guessing game. DANGEROUS ACCIDENT POTENTIAL: Imagine being on the highway and going about 65-70 mph and the truck run out of gas and shutdown. You are now driving a powerless vehicle that may or may not have steering and trying to cross over lanes on the highway to get to the shoulder if available. Not sure at night time if the outside lights on the truck would also turn off? Toyota put out a TSB for the 2022-2023 models and it did not fix the malfunction. Now the 2024 Tundras have the same problem and there is no fix for Toyota dealers to even try on the vehicle. We are just being told, no fix at this time---3 years! ATTACHED PHOTO: I have attached a photo of the fuel gauge after I started the truck. DTE is 387, Trip A: 316, Fuel level 3/4s TRUCK ACTUALLY HAD: DTE of 205, Trip A: 316, Fuel level 3/8s Appreciate the safety concern before a Tundra owner has a serious accident.

Jun 2024 ENGINE On 6-5-24 I had an engine oil leak and reported it to Knoxville Toyota they said this was a minor issue. On 6-10-24 on my way to work the truck started to dump oil, the engine started to fail. I drove it straight to the dealership. I feel this is a safety risk because it was dumping oil on the road and the engine could have blown causing me to lose power and potentially lose control of the truck.

Jun 2024 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL At a four way stop, four cars were stopped waiting for a car with right of way to turn left. Car turning left hesitated. I began to accelerate since myself and another car going straight had next right of way. Another car began to enter intersection so I let off the throttle and began to apply brakes for them to clear the intersection. This car also stopped seeing me begin to go so I hit the throttle as the intersection was clear for me. The truck, still rolling did nothing when I applied the throttle. I applied upwards of 50% throttle while the truck did nothing for approximately 2 seconds. I let off the throttle completely, for approximately 1 second and hit the throttle again to about 50% to quickly clear the intersection and not cause further confusion. The truck then lurched forward and accelerated rapidly where I had to again back off the throttle. This has happened multiple times. Another time turning left directly into the road (no intersection) pulling out of a shopping center. Pressed the throttle to about 50% after a slight hesitation to check traffic and clear oncoming traffic and the truck did nothing for approximately 2 seconds leaving me partially in the road waiting for acceleration. Let off throttle completely for 1 second and pressed again 50% and truck lurched forwards. Too close of a call for comfort.

Jun 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The horn does not work. I bought the truck yesterday 6/21/2024 and on the ride home I tried to use my horn when another vehicle cut me off on the highway and realized that I don’t have a functioning horn. I have contacted the dealership but they have not responded yet.

Jun 2024 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL The transmission seems to be confused on which gear to select and hesitates to get the truck moving. It's happened to me at an intersection a few times and my car will inch forward but lags to accelerate, and vehicles behind me have been close to rear ending me. This is very reproducible in the mornings, it's very apparent or when the truck has been sitting off for a long period of time. After driving for a while it no longer happens. Every morning though this issue is apparent.

Jun 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE Purchased 2024 Toyota Tundra from dealer brand new with 3 miles. Noticed tapping noise coming from engine area. Reported to Service and Toyota specialists claimed to be normal. Same day recall 24TA07 was reported for engine debris found from production machining. Dealer suggested to take to another dealer for second opinion. Second dealer also claimed it is normal, but still they are replacing torque converter and transmission to try and eliminate the noise that they claim is normal. Videos of engine noises are not able to be uploaded. They can identify the problem is happening on 2024 Tundra as well.

Jun 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Took delivery of 2024 Toyota Tundra in January 2024. Dealer did not inform me of the 1 key fob now the second one later as part of sales process. Only when I finalized delivery was I informed of this condition. Was promised the second key fob in a few weeks. It’s now 5 months later and all previous dates for the second key fob have come and gone. Projections went from January, to March, May, July and now August. It’s a safety issue because users should have both key fobs promised in the owners manual on page 110.

May 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The fuel gauge as well as DTE resets to full when vehicle is parked nose up on slight incline. My driveway is a few degrees pitched and I park so that the nose is pointing slightly up. After going through 40-70 miles on a new full tank of fuel my fuel gauge reset to full 3 times 3 days in a row. Each time I did the trick to get the fuel sensor to reset/re-read everything while on flat ground. Video was sent to local dealer showing that the fuel gauge is resetting to full incorrectly. Toyota tried a software fix on 2022's only that did not fix the issue. They have not tried to fix it since the 2022's came out. 100's of examples of this can be found all over online. If you park on a steeper incline the tank can reset to full even if you had 1/2 or 3/4's of a tank left. This is dangerous as you could run out of fuel while driving down the highway. Its especially dangerous if your significant other borrows the vehicle and assumes the truck has a full tank of gas when it may have much less.. To my knowledge the fuel gauge and DTE will not correct itself on its own either (has not for me at least). The only way to correct it is to actually fill up with fuel again or do the workaround while on flat ground. This is a safety issue so it is surprising Toyota hasn't fixed it especially since the Tundra has been out for a few years now.

May 2024 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE After stopping at a stop sign I attempted to cross the traffic to enter another lane. When I began to proceed I lost all power to the vehicle. The engine was still running but the accelerator pedal had no effect on the engine. As i was trying to cross the traffic, the vehicles I was trying avoid were now having to brake for me because I was in the middle of the road with no power. There were no warning lights or sounds produced, the vehicle just suddenly started to accelerate again. I currently have an appointment at the dealership. This problem has occurred three times in six months.
