285 consumer-submitted complaints are matched to this model year. Treat the count as a research signal, then read the actual summaries for repeated symptoms.
The most common categories are engine, power train, unknown or other. Use those categories as a test-drive checklist instead of judging the vehicle from the total count alone.
Enriched records include 1 crash report, 3 fire reports, 0 injury reports, and 0 fatality reports. These fields come from complaint records and should be read in context.
Mileage is available on 22 complaints, with an average reported failure mileage of 18,515 miles. Compare that with the mileage on the listing.
Build a buyer checklist to turn these issues into questions and inspection points.

| Jan 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | While driving on the highway at approximately 65mph my sunroof spontaneously exploded. It was as loud as a gunshot and glass rained down into the cab as well as “exploded” upward and outward raining down behind my truck while driving. This startled me and all passengers. There were no vehicles ahead of us or in the oncoming lanes on the other side of the separated highway. No foreign debris was found in the truck and there was no other damage anywhere other than the obvious glass lying everywhere. I previously complained to the dealership during routine service that the sunroof made a rattling sound during light bumps. The routine service was completed and I was given the response of “our techs couldn’t reproduce the sound(s) so we can’t help with that today”. They assured me that I could leave the truck and they would look into it “when they could” but that I’d have to leave the truck in the lot and not be given a loaner vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | Car has extreme random hesitation when attempting to accelerate. Could lead to major accident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Gas pedal intermittently goes completely NON-responsive. Vehicle will not accelerate when this issue occurs. Pulling out into traffic is very dangerous when this issue happens. No errors are reported from the vehicle but the gas pedal is completely dead during the issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | Brakes squeaked since date pic purchased. We brought it up to the dealer’s attention at Longo Toyota in El Monte,CA during a service. They mentioned they know about it as serval tundra owners have complained about it but Toyota has no recall at the time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Sun Roof shattered while driving on interstate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ENGINE | Engine failed at highway speeds resulting in loss of power. Dealer found debris from manufacturing process in engine that caused a bearing failure. Vehicle only has 7,500 miles on it at time of failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Multi-Media Center, displays a programmed promo for the program "Experience Drive Connect"; while the vehicle is either blue toothed or directly connected to a phone through Car Play. The screen promo pops up at the most inopportune time, sometimes repeatedly within a short period of time. This is very distracting, as it forces the driver to cancel out the screen to continue reviewing the map. The screen promo pop up has nearly caused this driver to have an accident and miss required turns during travels. Toyota is aware of the programming issue and states it cannot do anything about it. They were contacted twice, most recently on 12/11/2024, phone # 800-331-4331. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | SUSPENSION | This Toyota Tundra, equipped with the specially designed air bag rear suspension, for towing, is incapable of towing anything on U.S. roads, particularly U.S, Interstates crossing our country... where a very large portion of these interstates are rutted, like a washboard, caused by over-weight trucks and the weather... and these rutted or rippled interstate roads last sometimes for hundreds of miles at a time... from western Ohio to Montana, easily 75% of the roads are in this condition. The truck is a complete hazard, and extremely dangerous to the driver and anyone else on the highway. It is dangerous to the highest degree and should not be allowed on any U.S. highway. The rear airbag suspension is controlled by a computer, this computer constantly levels the truck, and there is no way to over-ride this system/computer program. So, the truck is constantly trying to level itself. Note, this adaptive air-bag suspension is sold by Toyota as the ultimate towing machine, six years in Toyota design... yet, it is totally incapable of towing on U.S. highways, unless, of course, the roads are new and black top and totally smooth. So, this is what happens, every time the truck hits a bump, the computer tries to level the truck... when towing a trailer, in this case a 30 foot Airstream, the tounge weight is 950 pounds — so with every bump the tounge of the trailer slams down 950 pounds on the back of the truck, and the truck desperately tries to level itself. This creates some sort of synergistic response between the truck and the trailer, and the truck and the trailer start rocking back in forth in a very violent manner, and when you let off the gas and slow down, it becomes even more violent, and extremely difficult to keep on the road and in your lane... not to say, what it does to the driver, who is slammed around the cabin. This suspension was clearly designed on a computer, and never road-tested on U.S. highways and interstates in the north... It is a disaster. | Crash: No Fire: Yes | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | Brakes were bad and squeaky from the first week I received the vehicle, Toyota claims it’s a known issue but for the past 6 months says the parts are on back order. The brakes are getting worse and worse. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | ENGINE | The vehicle intermediately has poor throttle response resulting in unsafe driving conditions. The poor throttle response occurs when taking off from a start as well as when accelerating at highway speeds. I nearly got into an accident today changing lanes on a highway as a vehicle was approaching at a rapid speed. The truck failed to accelerate for 3-5 seconds which is unacceptable. When I applied throttle the truck actually slowed down. This condition is sporadic which makes it more dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving uphill at approximately 10 MPH, a loud abnormal sound was coming from the bottom of the vehicle. The contact merged to the shoulder of the road and inspected the vehicle when a bystander informed that three bearings were seen detaching from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer Flagstaff of Toyota where the vehicle was diagnosed that the CV axle was torn apart due to the lift kit previously installed. The contact was advised that the lift kit was not original equipment manufactured therefore causing the CV axle to fail and needed to be replaced. The contact also stated that when informing Anaheim Toyota of what had occurred they stated that the lift kit was the original manufacturer's equipment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,900. | Crash: No Fire: No | 2,900 |
| Nov 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | Engine seems to stall at acceleration from low speed. Basically, a dead pedal response. For instance, upon slowing down to near stop to enter a roundabout or an unmarked 4 way intersection(yield to enter intersection without stopping) vehicle has noticed throttle lag. Any attempt to accelerate even mildly into the roundabout or intersection results in a dead pedal for a second or two. No response from engine, truck feels like it’s going to die. I’ve been nearly hit multiple times by other vehicles as my vehicle is not moving when it should. Very dangerous. This is a daily occurrence. Dealer was unhelpful. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | This is my 4th time filling out this form. Fuel gauge and miles to empty will reset with the fuel gauge reading full and the miles to empty recalculating without putting fuel in the vehicle. My computer owners online account shows I have a fuel level of 153%.This truck has 2781 miles on it. The fuel gauge has reset itself 6 times in that mileage. Have now contacted Toyota Customer fulfillment and now have a case number for the problem. My dealer then contacted me within an hour of getting that case number. Will now hopefully being getting closer to a solution. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ENGINE | Note came on display Loss of power | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The gauge fails to display the correct fuel level, especially when the fuel is below a certain threshold, which raises concerns about the accuracy of the reading and the overall safety of the vehicle. It will show full when really fuel is 1/2 tank | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Radio volume knob broke within few months with light use due to manufacturing quality | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Fuel gauge continues to reset to full with the miles to empty resting without putting gas in the truck. First reported to dealer and looked at on 7/12/24 with no solution. Second incident reported and truck left at dealer on 7/29/24. with no solution. 2 fuel gauge resets occured and reported to dealer on10/2/24 again with no solution except Toyota knows the problem but has no fixes. Last resetting of fuel gauge has occured on 10/9/24. I have been informed that other Toyota Tundra trucks have been into this dealership with the same problem of the fuel gauge resetting without putting any fuel in the truck. This vehicle should come with a reliable and working fuel gauge. This can become a hazard if running out of fuel. Dealership has now looked at this problem 3 times! 5 resets of the fuel gauge in 2315 miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal felt loose and made an abnormal sound while being depressed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake disk needed to be replaced; however, the remedy was not guaranteed to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 10,000 |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stopped independently. In addition, the brake system warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving on a major city street. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,500. | Crash: No Fire: No | 8,500 |
| Sep 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Repeated resetting of fuel gauge to full without filling the gas tank. Have reported this problem and dealer tried to remedy but apparently not fixed. Truck filled on 9/18/24 and everything normal. Fuel gauge and miles to empty reset on 9/24/24 after having driven 59.5 miles. MPG stayed the same. Fuel gauge and miles to empty reset while truck was running after driving 25 miles since previous reset on 9/26/24. Watched the miles to empty roll on screen. Since previous dealer service can no longer use steering wheel button to reset the MPG. Can have a false sense of available fuel and cause potential accident if truck runs out of fuel on highway or get stranded somewhere. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION | Camera backup guidelines stopped displaying. Automatic mirror adjustment downward when shifting into reverse stopped working. Also unable to select different camera views. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | Toyota Case Number: TAS 242430544. Vehicles brake pedal went to the floor. No power brakes. Check engine light turned on. Could not drive the vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | I purchased the vehicle from a Toyota dealer 10 days ago. since then I have driven about 500 miles. I started the engine this morning (09/11/2024); but it will not start. This is a hybrid vehicle. I read the user's manual, which says a green "READY" indicator on the instrument panel should be on if hybrid system is normal. The green indicator was not on; it blinked briefly when I pushed the POWER button, then it disappeared. The vehicle is unable to move either forward or backward. I just called Toyota Roadside Assistance. It sent a two truck to it to a nearby Toyota dealer for inspection & repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | TIRE ARE WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE ONLY PREMATURE TIRE WEAR FEATHERING REAL BAD LOOKs LIKE THE ALIGNMENT SPECS ARE WRONG FROM TOYOTA MANUFACTURER | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | There are two recurring issues effecting my truck. These have been ongoing for 6 months, since March of this year. I have been to my dealer Lum's in Warrenton, Oregon 8 times for this. They have been unavailable to fix the issues and told me they needed a Toyota factory person to fix the issues because they do not have anyone at the dealership that can do it. Nate Whisnant, the service manger at Lum's was suppose to make this happen but he has not. They are not responding. I have sent a request to my sales person Liz Valsqueze try to get some movement from Lum's. These issues are described by my Launch code reading tool, which I had to buy to clear the codes to keep my truck operational as designed. The issues are two issues for the Power system: 1. P2450 7E 2. Evaporative Emissions System Switching Valve Actuator Stuck On There are two issues for Vehicle Body System: 1. Evaporative Emission System Switching Vlave Performance/Stuck Open 2. Lost Communication with Image Processing Module "B" Missing Message Effectively what this means is that: 1. The truck throws a check engine light and asks me to contact the dealer while simultaneously disabling ALL cruise control related functions. 2. The Cameras used for parking, backing, checking the security of loads i the bed etc are all disabled. All camera's around the truck are disabled not allowing for safety checks when pulling into or out of parking, etc. It is unsafe not to have a view around my truck when pulling in and out of tight places. It it unsafe not to have fatigue reducing cruise control on long trips and in heavy traffic with collision braking assistance that does not work. This vehicle is available for inspection by anyone that will take the time to inspect it. The is a constant warning lamp that does not go off asking me to contact the dealer to fix it. These warning lamps first appeared in February 2024. I purchased the truck in December 2023. The dealer has not fixed the problems. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
