Oct 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Software update caused my Jeep to go into automatic engine shutdown while driving on a busy street. The D started to flash and screen said to put in park then Jeep glitched and jerked and I had to stop. This happened multiple times while I attempted to safely get home. Check engine light came on. I made it home. Waited a few hours. Turned Jeep off and on. Waited another half hour. Tried again multiple times throughout night then light happened to go off.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN 3 times in the same day my vehicle appeared to shift itself out of drive when accelerating from a stop. All three times it was pulling out into a busy road which caused a to of stress having to shift to park, then drive again. It was a very dangerous day of jeep driving. Today I read on apple news car and driver, that it was caused by jeeps over the air update.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Year: 2024 Make & Model: Jeep Wrangler 4-door 4xe Body Style: Sahara 4x4 VIN: [XXX] On October 14, 2025, I began to drive my car home. After the use of the brakes, while I was pulling out of a large parking lot, the car functionally went into neutral, the “D” on PRNDL display began to blink. The brakes worked. I pulled over, put the car into Park and then into Drive again. Still, no change. I turned the car on and off and put it into Drive and the car began to drive normally, until I reached a stop light, exiting the parking lot. Then, the same thing occurred. The “D” began blinking and the car was unresponsive to the accelerator. I turned off and re-started the car. Again, it drove fine. The “D” was lit, but didn’t blink. I was driving very slowly and then went down a hill. As soon as I tapped the brakes, the same thing occurred again. I was only 6 miles or less from the dealership. So, after re-starting the car for the 3rd or 4th time, I learned that using the parking brake did not disrupt the car and the accelerator continued to work. I drove to the dealership’s service department and used the parking brake when I needed to slow down. Today is 10/18/2025. I received a call back on 10/16 and none since. Today, I drove out to the service department and talked directly to a manager, who was vague on the car’s status. Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE Jeep 4xe Wrangler engine shut off while driving. Error we assumed on our part while coming to a stop. Turned the Jeep off and restarted it and again, car engine stopped. Tried for a 3rd time, car engine was running, gas pedal to the floor but the car would not move. We had to drive in reverse back to our house. Luckily, it was close. Called Corporate, they have been zero help. Will not return our phone calls. We have no car to use and no answers.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE We were driving the car after a faulty over the air update that forced the car to shut down while driving. Oct 2025 STEERING,SUSPENSION THE CAR FRONT END SHAKES AT VARIOUS TIMES. IT IS INTERMITTENT, BUT IT SHAKES FROM SLIGHT TO SEVERE ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO TWO DEALERSHIPS AND THEY DRIVE CAR AND CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM.. I READ ONLINE IT IS COMMON AND IS KNOWN AS "THE DEADT WOBBLE" JEEP ACKNOWLEDGES THIS BUT WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX WITHOUT DUPLICATING THE PROBLEM.. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH 18000 MILES. MY CONCERN IS IT SHOULD BE FIXED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND IF WARRANTY RUNS OUT IT MAY FAIL AND I WILL BE STUCK PAYING FOR THE PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE FIXED NOW.. THIS IS MY WIFES CAR AND WE LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF NC.. THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION DRIVING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN IN THE RAIN AND FOR THIS SEVERE FRONT END SHAKING. IN MY OPINION IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED WITH THE POSSIBLE RECALL TO FIX

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The car installed an upgrade over the air, in the background, and while driving it shut down. It flashes the screens and shut down while in drive on a busy road. Steering wheel locked and had to turn on and off aeveral times just to move slowly to the side away from oncoming vehicles. After looking online, found article about this issue across the country in the models, and tried the reset instructions. Eventually was able to keep it on and drive slowly to the dealer about 25miles away. They've had it since yesterday saying they reaching out to engineering unable to figure out how to fix.

Then, it drove with almost no power until it stopped again. I cvcled my vehicle on and off several times to get it to safety.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Driving on our way to a JEEP INVASION (local). We had our 3 children in the back seat. The jeep was traveling about 45 mph and the accelerator stopped working. Thankfully we were not on a freeway and no one was behind us. We had to pull over and turn the jeep off and then back on. It happened 3 times on the way there. We took it into the local dealership and they ran a test on it. We were told it happened because of the UConnect update performed over the weekend. We are currently trying to get out of our lease. We only have 16k miles on it and have taken it into the dealership 5+ times due to issues similar to this. But we have never had to worry about our safety the previous times. It has become a driving risk for us and we do not feel comfortable taking our children in it anymore. I feel like the vehicle shutting down felt the same as the brake system not working while we were driving. We had the 4xe battery replaced in the past year because we were left stranded in a parking lot because the vehicle would not turn on.

Oct 2025 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I was driving as normal in a 40mph zone when my car stalled, steering locked up, and it flashed to put it in park in the middle of traffic. I was able to move over to a safe space after putting it in park but it kept shutting off as I inched my way off the road with hazards on. There was an update that went out that was causing this to vehicles and i was declining the update as suggested by manufactuerer by pressing the red X but it somehow forced installed itself while I was driving. Then while i was pulled over it would run for a few seconds then it would all of a sudden shut off again saying E-Drive Mode Temporairly Unavailable. Ive attached some photos but have a video of it running and shutting off if you would like me to send that.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Jeep wanted to do an OTA update through the connect service. I continued to select 'update later' for several days then it all of a sudden my uconnect service told me it was updating. Immediately after it was updated, while on the road, the screened flashed off then back on just like it does at start up wanting me to start the vehicle. At this point we were at a stoplight and wasn't actively moving at this time. It was already running, and when the button was pressed, it turned, off, then pressed again and turned back on and restarted with on with CEL. I was only a mile from my local dealership, so I proceeded to go there.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN We are aware of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe software update which basically disables the wrangler and have been diligent about selecting the red X to not accept the update. This morning on my son’s way to work the update went through anyway resulting in a loss of power forcing him to stop the vehicle. Thankfully he was able to limp the Jeep to our local service station where the firmware over the air update “fix” was able to be applied and the vehicle is functioning again. This is a major concern for several reasons, he was a minute away from one of the busiest interstates in New York, where this could have been a very serious incident, second the vehicle updated regardless of user input to defer or not install. Had we not have been prepared for this because of social media, not Jeep, this would have had serious implications.

Oct 2025 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE While driving my 2024 Jeep Rubicon 4xe, both the Check Engine and “Service Battery” lights came on, and the vehicle suddenly shut down completely in the middle of a busy intersection. I lost all ability to accelerate, steer, or brake — the steering wheel locked, and the vehicle was inoperable in heavy traffic. I was trapped in the lane with vehicles approaching from all directions, unable to move or control the car in any way. It was a frightening and dangerous experience that could have resulted in a serious accident. This was the second time this same issue occurred. The first happened around May 17, 2024, when the vehicle had approximately 500 miles. The dealership repaired it under warranty and returned it to me. The most recent incident occurred around October 10, 2025, at approximately 10,000 miles. The San Leandro Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that Jeep engineering is aware of the problem and that a fix is being developed, but there is no known repair or release timeline. They stated the only option was to clear the codes and return the vehicle. This is also my second Jeep 4xe to experience the exact same issue. My previous 4xe was repurchased by the manufacturer (FCA/Stellantis) in 2023 after similar “Service Battery” warnings and total shutdowns while driving. This ongoing defect is a severe safety hazard. The vehicle can lose all power, propulsion, and steering without warning, leaving the driver and others on the road in immediate danger. A total loss of control — especially while crossing an intersection or driving at speed — could easily result in a crash or fatal injury.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I was driving from New York to DC when my car “bricked” on [XXX] my car advised me to go into park mode and began slowing down to a stop (I had no control over it) and luckily I was able pull over onto the shoulder to where I felt very unsafe and waited to restart my car. I was able to restart and try again and it bricked again about 10 minutes later. I was terrified and had a panic attack before being able to safely merge across lanes into a rest stop. I figured that if I switched into gas mode because it appeared to be an electrical problem that I might be able to continue my drive I started driving and not five minutes later I was stalled on a bridge. It was the scariest experience I’ve had probably ever in my life I had to completely shut down my car and restart it just to inch my way onto a shoulder after getting across a bridge with other cars going over 60 70 mph. Eventually I was able to disconnect the battery and reconnect it just in order to make it safely to a dealership with my father, following behind me. Because the check engine light went off when the battery was reconnected, when I got there, the dealership told me the diagnostic test showed no concerns and said that I could take the car and continue my drive. then 15 minutes after continuing my drive it stalled again, again on the highway! So I made my way back to the dealership and in the 10 miles that it took to get to the dealership the car stalled over five more times every single time it stalled I risked someone running into the back end of my car. I was told to contact Chrysler for a customer care case and they were not helpful at all. I was given a loaner that I couldn’t take out of state so I couldn’t get back to New York in a timely fashion so I had to wait in DC an extra day just to get my car back. I still don’t feel safe in the vehicle because a little software glitched caused such a major issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Jeep pushed out an update on Friday 10/10 that we were advised to decline as it was causing mechanical failures. Despite declining the update ever since, and being assured that this remedy would work until the update expired in 30 days, apparently it still managed to push through on its own last night. I was less than two miles from my house this morning on my way to an appointment when the dashboard lit up and the Jeep completely lost power. I shut it off, turned it back on and was able to get back home, but the CEL is still on. I was lucky enough to be on a side road, as I was about to enter a busy intersection. I've talked to Jeep and they do not have a fix, but it is unsafe to drive at this point. I am waiting on a towing company at the moment to bring it to a Jeep dealership.

Oct 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I have been dissecting and putting off the update of the Uconnect software that has recently been known to brick vehicles for about five days now when I was stopped at a light, the car push through the update andand auto updated without my selecting to do so. This caused the car to turn to a message saying to put it in park and press start in order to drive and turned on the check engine light. Luckily this is a long light, but I had to restart the vehicle in order to get it moving dirt before the traffic started to flow.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER After an automatic UConnect software update on Saturday 10/11/25, my vehicle stalled out multiple times while driving. Even though it's in drive, the vehicle automatically shifted into park, the dashboard lit up, and the vehicle dead stopped in the middle of traffic. I took it to a Jeep dealership near me where they said many drivers are having the same issue. Worst than that, is that I had to call Chrysler just to get a rental car approval, but since the incident happened on a Saturday of a holiday weekend, I have been 4 days without a car.
