Jun 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS,SERVICE BRAKES Speedometer does not function. We have no idea how fast or slow we are going at any given time. It shows random speeds. Fearful we could cause an accident by unknowingly driving too fast or too slow. The speedometer display indicates we are going 40+ mph while we are sitting absolutely still at stop lights & that we are traveling at a variety of speeds including 0 mph while keeping up with traffic on the interstate. Tachometer does not function. The rpm gauge fluctuates wildly while idling and while the vehicle is in motion. Gear Display does not function. We have no way of knowing what gear the vehicle is in or if it will remain stationary, move forward or backwards. Driving this vehicle or simply having the engine on, could very easily cause death or serious injury. Air bags & warning display do not function. The red alert on the instrument panel is constantly lit up indicating that the airbags will not function in the case of an accident. Engine gear display does not function. Display will randomly indicate vehicle is in reverse while we are very clearly driving forward. We have no way of knowing if the vehicle will suddenly change gears a result. Engine randomly turns off while in motion. The engine began randomly turning off while we were driving even after we picked it up from the dealership following the first attempt at repairs. There is absolutely no warning when it happens. We have no way of knowing when, where or at what speed the vehicle will be moving when the engine shuts off. This affects all steering, braking and electrical warning functions. Transmission overheating. Gives multiple alerts indicating that the transmission was running at too high a temperature and needed immediate service by the dealer. We have no way of knowing if the transmission will catch on fire. New Vehicle purchased 5/2. Malfunctioned immediately +returned for service 5/8. NO repair has been successful. Vehicle cannot be driven safely

May 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Brand new vehicle with 11 miles on the odometer. The emergency Braking system does not work. If I go into the settings and make a change to emergency braking, such as far or close, the message “Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable Service Required” will come up on the cluster display. Once I restart the vehicle it goes away. If I go back into the AEB settings and make a change, the message will come up on the cluster again. When I restart the vehicle and the message goes away, it still does not seem as though the Auto Emergency Braking system is working. This is very dangerous.

Feb 2024 EXTERIOR LIGHTING When Vehicle is operated with the head lights in auto mode the operator is unable to activate the High Beam head lights with the paddle. The operator has to switch the headlights to a manual mode and then may activate the bright lights. The vehicle is not equipped with auto high beams. Vehicle was return to dealer service department. Dealer Contacted Chrysler / Jeep and said this is normal and no fix is available. This is the exact same issue that was presented to NHTSA with the 2021 Jeep Cherokee L and a safety recall was issued to due it violating standards. NHTSA Campaign Id 21V797000; Date: Oct. 14, 2021 Seems unsafe.

Feb 2024 EXTERIOR LIGHTING The high beams do not work when the lights are in the "Auto" position. When the lever is pushed forward to manually turn on the high beams, nothing happens but when it is pulled back the high beams will come on so long as it is being held back. The high beams will only work correctly when the lights are in the "ON" position. I have had this Jeep at the dealership three times and they cannot diagnose the problem or find any error codes. This appears to be a problem with many 2023/2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee's according to online comments and this also appears to be a similar issue as the recall which was issued in 2021 for that model of Jeep Grand Cherokee (21V-797 / Y66 Recall - These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment).

Feb 2024 BACK OVER PREVENTION The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the display screen mal-functioned and the back over prevention camera froze with an image that there was no object behind the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. The dealer performed a software update however, the failure of the frozen screen with the back over prevention camera persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the wires were checked, and the dealer performed a factory reset. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure, but the dealer stated the manufacture was working on a software update to be available by the end of February 2024. Jan 2024 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Just purchased a new 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude - vehicle is not equipped with automatic high beams. When the master lighting switch is set to the auto position, the high beam headlights will not activate unless the master lighting switch is first changed to the 'on" position. In 2021 there was a recall for this issue on Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo's based on these vehicles failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V797000. It is unsafe to be moving the light switch from auto to manual in order to turn the high beams on. This will cause issues not having the lights set on auto as it can be forgotten to turn the headlights back on Auto so you aren't driving with the headlights off. Dealer explained this is how it works. There is obviously an ongoing problem being that there has been a recall issued previously for this exact problem.
