There have been two incidents on brick roads where the car won’t brake and has slid into oncoming traffic. Hyundai is aware of the issue but, has no fix for it. | May 2025 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | This is an update to my previous complaint 11655582. Hyundai replaced the left headlight assembly on 5-5-25. Email I sent to Hyundai this morning: "I drove the car Tuesday evening and noticed the same problem as before the left headlight replacement. Later, at nearly 10:00 PM, I took the car to a dark road with little traffic to get a better look and to take the attached pictures. The outside temperature was 35 degrees with a light drizzle. Here is what I did. 1.I covered the left headlight with the thickness of two towels so only the right headlight shined on the road. I immediately saw the triangular area where there was an absence of light. I walked toward the safety defect to get a good picture. The two dark lines on the left of the picture are the shadows cast by my legs. The leg shadows did not create or impact the safety defect in any way because the safety defect was there when I stood to the side of the car and behind the headlights. 2.I repeated the experiment with the right headlight covered so only the left headlight shined on the road. The result was the same – a dark triangular area where there should be light. 3.When both headlights shine, the two defects blend with one another and project a distracting and unsafe image to the driver. Here are the conclusions that I have drawn from this experiment. 1.There must be a defective component that is used in both the left and right headlights – perhaps a reflector or lens. Perhaps that component is also used in more models than just the Palisade. 2.Since both original headlights and the new replacement left headlight contained this safety defect, the manufacturing dates of the three items might have been weeks or months apart. This makes it unlikely that only my car received three random defects and more likely that this is a widespread problem. 3.The current stock of headlights could be defective and replacing the ones on my Palisade from that stock may not fix the problem." | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

When I went to brake, the brakes vibrated, the steering wheel shook and I wasn’t stopping. I pushed down harder and eventually stopped just before entering the intersection. The roads were dry and smooth, no gravel, but it felt like I was sliding on gravel or ice. This has happened several times before in rough parking lots but I thought it was just a random fluke because of gravel or a bump in the road. No sensors or warning lights came on. | Apr 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Sunroof randomly shattered in closed position on highway. I have pictures that show the glass bowing outward toward the sky instead of bowing toward inside the car indicating a object did not hit my sunroof. I also have pictures and videos of the sunroof and moment leading to glass shattering also proving it was not caused by an object. It is a serious issue because my sunroof was closed and my family was in the car. It couldve caused serious injury to the eyes if the inside slide cover wasnt closed as well. Something has failed causing this and I dont wish serious injury on anyone. I will be seeing my dealer tomorrow 4/22/25 huntington hyundai in new york to further evaluate it. The left side has a large triangular black-out region which blocks my view of the next lane. I took the vehicle to Phil Long Hyundai in Colorado Springs Colorado for warranty repair. They refused to drive the car at night because that was outside of their normal business hours. They adjusted the headlights “as high as they could go” according to their invoice. | Apr 2025 | STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES | As the vehicle drove over railroad tracks the steering wheel began to shake violently and I attempted to push the brake pedal with my full body weight but the brakes would not work and the car lunged forward, striking the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the brake system on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade prevented me from stopping the vehicle and thus I impacted the vehicle in front of me putting not only my life in jeopardy but also the driver of the car in front of me. I sustained a neck injury and headaches and have required ongoing medical care as a result. This vibrating steering wheel and braking issue has happened in the past several times and was reported to Wiesner Hyundai on several occasions; however, the dealership was not able to recreate the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by the service department at Wiesner Hyundai. | Apr 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | i have had multiple incidences over the past year where in stopped traffic, the car will suddenly slam on brakes as all cars start to pull off in traffic. I have almost been rear-ended by the car behind me with these sudden stops. Often when this happens I try again to pull forward and it will slam on breaks again and I have to quickly put it in park and then drive again to get it to let me begin to drive forward. There is nothing blocking my path forward. This usually in multi-lane traffic stops, so it appears that it is confused by the movement of cars in front of me and beside me. I did take it to the dealership and they could not replicate the issue since it is intermittent. They did not see any error codes that were logged either so couldn't help me with the issue. I also receive for long periods of time when driving more than one hour a message on the instrument panel that says "Forward Safety system limited. Radar blocked." | Apr 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | Went over railroad tracks approaching intersection approximately 40 feet from tracks. Tapped brakes while going over tracks (light was red) and anti-lock brake system kicked in. I was suddenly unable to stop the vehicle as the brakes were not working and I was continuing to lurch forward toward the intersection at approximately 10 mph. The brakes continued to fail for approximately 1 - 1.5 seconds before I let off and slammed down on them as hard as I could and finally slammed to a stop. My car at this point, had gone slightly into the intersection, but not enough to get clipped by a car. Had I not let off the brake and re-hit it with force, I fear I would have continued to roll into the intersection where I would have gotten T-boned by traffic. There were no warning lights or lamps that kicked on when this happened but the steering wheel and brake were vibrating. | Apr 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | I love my palisade but the only terrifying thing is what happens at low speeds if I apply the brake on uneven surface/pothole it feels as if the brake falls out from under my foot, a loud rattling noise/vibration happens and it becomes nearly impossible to stop. Extremely dangerous I have a [XXX] and another child on the way. I don’t know how this car got top safety pick with this issue. I have read many others having the same issue with their 2024 palisade. | Mar 2025 | SEAT BELTS | On a brand new vehicle from day one the driver's side seat belt disconnects at random times despite being correctly buckled and fastened. It happens during standard driving conditions even when simply maintaining a steady speed. This is life threatening for my wife. We have taken it to the dealership multiple times, and they refuse to address it because they cannot reproduce it on their short few minute test drives. I have seen multiple posts from people online facing the same issue. For others it is often in the rear seats, but in our case the issue is for the driver themselves (the most often occupied seat). I do not trust that these seatbelts would protect in the case of a collision when they can't even stay buckled at a steady low speed. There are no warnings shown and the car is registering no fault codes. Again, let me emphasize, this car was brand new when these issues occurred. Hyundai refuses to address. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, an 18-wheeler crashed while driving approximately 85-90 MPH into the rear end of the vehicle and impacted the vehicle approximately 4 times including the passenger side. As a result, the vehicle ricocheted into a concrete barrier. The contact did not recollect where the vehicle came to a stop. The contact mentioned that the driver of the 18-wheeler stated that he was unaware the contact vehicle was in front. The air bags failed to deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. | Feb 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | Driving on a 4 lane street at approximately 25 mph in the right hand lane next to curb when another vehicle swerved from the left lane into my lane. I slammed on the brakes in an attempt to stop and avoid any contact with the other vehicle. All the brakes did was a hard and long shudder, and did not seem to even slow my car let alone stop the car. Fortunately, the other vehicle attempting to swerve into my lane stopped. My vehicle never stopped and only seemed to slow down slightly. All I could do was to move my vehicle more towards the curb. At the time, I did not feel any impact and assumed no contact or damage. The other driver continued down the road and got onto the highway. When I got to a place to stop, I looked at my vehicle and do have damage to the left rear wheel well trim and back quarter fender area. My car would not stop. It felt as the ABS system was modulating hard. The road was dry, and the temp was in the mid 60's. This is not the first issue like this, and Hyundai says there is no problem and they will not fix it. | Feb 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | driving in parking lot towards exit to turn onto street. speed approximately 10 - 15 mph. I applied the brakes when approaching the stop sign at the intersection. The brakes shuddered hard and the vehicle did not slow or stop. I let off the brakes and immediately hard pressed the brake peddle to attempt to stop the vehicle before entering the intersection and on coming traffic. The vehicle then stopped with the nose of the vehicle in the intersection. The brakes failed again. This was the 2nd time today I had an issue. The road surface was dry and the temp was in the 60's. There was no impact/contact with any other vehicle, but it was once again very close to having a wreck. The vehicle was at Hyundai for almost 90 days for the same issue late last year and into 2025. Hyundai repeatedly said there was a software update coming, but that never happened and they ultimately said there was no issue, no update, and come get the vehicle.
