Jun 2025 SERVICE BRAKES The automatic emergency braking system in my vehicle has repeatedly activated without any visible reason. The brakes engage suddenly even when there are no cars, curves, reflective surfaces, or obstacles nearby. This has occurred on straight, empty roads and in clear conditions. We have previously taken the car to the dealership for issues related to sensors and wiring, and were even told at one point to turn off certain safety features. Most recently, we went through the dealership and escalated the issue to Honda corporate, but they closed our case and claimed there is nothing wrong with the car. I am very concerned that this unresolved issue could lead to the brakes locking up in a dangerous situation, potentially causing an accident.

Jun 2025 STEERING When driving at a low speed like in a parking lot, the steering wheel makes cracking noises. The noise becomes more obvious in warm temperatures and after the vehicle has been running for a while.

May 2025 STEERING There's a grinding and clicking noise when turning the wheel left and right in a parked position and when slowing down. The dealership replaced the steering rack once already 1 year ago. Now the grinding and clicking noise is back and alot worse. The dealership is going to replace the steering rack for a second time. Spoke to Honda mechanics and told them that there must be another underlining issue.

May 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER With the Idle Stop feature on (meaning the car will shut the motor off when coming to a stop, but keep electrical equipment working), my Honda Pilot, at random times, will completely lose all power when I come to a complete stop. This results in the car being unable to be operated and can lead to numerous instances of injury or even death. In order to have the car work properly again as it should, I have to recrank the car completely. Sometimes the motor turns over without issue, and other times it sounds like it struggles to supply power to crank the car. This was a known issue with Honda, with a recall in place to fix it. I completed this recall in April 2025. As of [XXX] (The same day of the MOST RECENT incident), my Honda Pilot is at Hubert Vester Honda in Wilson, NC for them to troubleshoot the issue further. Per their Maintenance department, Honda has opened up an inquiry further into this issue. My Honda Pilot is a 2024 with less than 23,000 miles on it. May 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL I believe that there is a safety issue with the design of the adaptive cruise control on the 2024 Honda Pilot. The vehicle applies the brakes at about 1 mph over the selected speed. It is especially aggressive when topping a hill. The gas lets up, but due to the vehicle inertia, the car slightly accelerates, then braking. I believe that this action is unsafe for several reasons. It slows the vehicle several mph below the set speed causing cars behind me to swerve or come close to me. No human driver would apply the brakes in that situation. It also appears to irritate those same drivers. I’m glad that none of them has a weapon so far. It also applies the brakes going downhill on the interstate highway. This occurs at any speed below 55 mph. This also makes it look like the driver is continually tapping the brakes, when no one normally would. I suspect that there may be extra brake wear. My family asks what is going on with the car because of the aggressive braking. I previously owned a 2018 Honda Pilot with adaptive cruise control. It used transmission downshifting to slow the vehicle. I admit that there were some over speeds, but nothing serious. The 2024 Owner’s Manual states that downshifting is also used, but I’ve only seen the brakes used for over speed control. There are no user selectable adjustments to the system. I am getting used to this (feature, not a bug) by clicking off the cruise control whenever the conditions are close for a brake activation. This causes me to pay more attention to monitoring for those conditions, rather than the actual driving and traffic scan. I suggest that the system use downshifting followed by brakes after a 3 or 4 mph excursion from the set speed.

Apr 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER On three occasions, my car has not started as expected. Twice I was at busy intersections at a stop, and when I started to go, the car shut off and would not allow me to restart the engine. The third time I had not been driving and was in a parking lot, trying to start the car to leave and it also would not start. When this happens, the brake locks, the steering locks, but the lights are still on around the center console. The start stop button goes black and refuses to work on all three occasions. I have had to wait and try again and try again and try again before the car will restart and allow me to drive again. Then all of the panic alerts flash on the dash and cycle over and over and over telling me to see the dealer also saying there is a brake system problem. I do have a video of these, but my video is too large to attach here. This is very dangerous being stuck in an intersection with cars all around not being able to move. I took the car into the dealer today and they wanted to tell me that my battery was having interference or corrosion. The car is only one year old. They also said that the idle start stop was draining amperage from the battery perhaps keeping it from restarting if I were making short trips or in heavy traffic. Either way, this is a huge problem and safety concern on my part. I am paying for a brand new car that I feel is unsafe. They did not share with me that there is an active investigation about this very issue. I feel they were not very transparent with me. Down below, I will attach an image of what the dealer said about the issue when I visited them today.

Apr 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Vehicle has many fault codes that will not clear. Took to dealership and the state they believe its a wheel speed sensor and vehicle is safe to drive. Flashing warnings include AWD system problem, electric parking brake problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, electric power steering problem, antilock brake system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, trailer stability assist problem, hill descent control system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keep assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, low speed braking problem, auto high beam problem, parking sensor problem, antilock brake system problem, as well as drive mode change unavailable, rear hatch will not open, drivers seat will not automatically move into position once vehicle is started, vehicle will not shut off without having to hit the off button numerous times, and vehicle is not auto shutting off after the 10-15 min timeframe. Dealer states they have ordered the part and is currently on back order. Was told Honda does not provide loaner vehicles for warranty work. Seems strange that a wheel sensor could cause so many errors and shut off all safety features, brakes and drivetrain of the vehicle.

Mar 2025 POWER TRAIN This 10 speed transmission is dangerous. It hesitates and jerks constantly. Both up and down shifts will hesitate or drop into gears. While at speeds under 50mph the car will lurch and rock back and forth with some shifts. I'm current on all recalls. Only 23,000 miles. I've taken it in to Honda and did a ride along with the tech and he felt it too, but until there is a check engine light, theres nothing they can do to help me. This is a wide spread issue among owners when you search forums. Please look into this issue and push Honda to release a software update.

Mar 2025 SUSPENSION 1) 2024 Honda Pilot is a 7 passenger vehicle w/2WD towing rating of 3500 pounds. With 4 people in the rows 1&2, and 4-20 lb. suitcases in the cargo area behind the 2nd row, the rear suspension has extreme negative camber on the suspension and it looks like it's weighted down with a ton of rocks in the back. This causes excessive tire wear on the inside of the rear tires.I brought this into the dealership to address, and they said that it's normal. They declined to check the alignment specs, and said that they just put a couple guys in the 2nd row and all looked normal.Must be inaccurate specs, or it has inadequate rear suspension and/or rear shocks. Why would a vehicle with 60% of the passenger/weight capacity, and with not even set up with a towing hitch, have this kind of problem? This should be investigated as we've never had this problem with our previous Honda's, or any other vehicle. 2) Since new, we have problems with the acceleration of the vehicle, primarily from a standing start. When we try to gently press on the gas peddle it surges forward like a person in a sports car trying to spin the tires. This has nothing to do with the pavement as it's dry concrete, and it is very hard to get the vehicle to move forward without spinning the front tires.Dealership says that it's normal as it just has to do with the gearing of the new 10 speed transmission and it's sensitive (huge understatement). This rapid acceleration is dangerous and can cause you to loose control, and even worse if we're driving on wet roads.I've never experienced a gas peddle/acceleration problem like this on any vehicle I've owned in 40 years, even sports cars.Drive one of these Pilot's and you'll see yourself! 3) Honda's Vehicle Data Privacy Notice is extremely unethical and should be illegal.Honda is collecting and selling it's clients personal info to third parties. They're trapping clients and compromising personal data and identity for even more money. This leads to identity theft.

Jan 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I have received 2 recall notices on my vehicle. I have contacted my dealer, Round Rock Honda, to schedule an appointment, they advised the soonest they could get the vehicle in is over 3 months from now. They claimed it is because the technicians have to be trained how to perform the recalls. However, the recalls are very basic. One is a simply a software upgrade, the other is checking to ensure the fuel is properly secured. I asked what if something actually broke on my car and if I would have to wait 3-4 months. They said no, they have reservation times for that, but they only allocate a certain portion of their reservations & service time to recalls. So the real reason they scheduled me so far out isn't due to training or actual capacity, its just not a priority.

Jan 2025 VISIBILITY/WIPER While driving on the highway, the panoramic roof shattered on its own with no outside or inside influence. This put the safety of myself and others at risk as the noise was similar to a weapon being fired at point-blank range. Additionally, had the panoramic roof curtain not been closed, glass would have fallen onto my children. This problem has been reported by others online, and there is a class action lawsuit against Honda for it. I'm working with my local dealership, and they're refusing to repair it under warranty. Honda Corporate states that if the dealership refuses to repair it under warranty, that’s their right and they, Honda Corporate, cannot help me. I have photos taken immediately after it occurred, as well as video and audio from my dash camera showing that nothing impacted the vehicle. There was no prior warning that would allude to the possibility of the panoramic roof shattering.

Dec 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The vehicle started having issues initializing the auto-ignition system. It would give various notification, like system warming up when it wasn’t cold, or system disabled for some reason. Then it started shifting to park when stopped at light. Then it stalled multiple times when the AIS would initialize. Dealer said it was bad battery and swapped it. Driving away from dealer after service approached a stop light and came to a stop. The vehicle stalled again and went completely dead. No electrical at all. Stranded at intersection. Vehicle has been at dealer for 3 days, and waiting on response. They haven’t been able to find anything yet.

Nov 2024 ENGINE When shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, the motor dips in RPM's then speeds up quickly. I now have 5000 miles on the vehicle and it is still happening. It's a safety hazard that the Honda Service Dept says is normal. On many quorum's, many people are complaining about the same problem. My local mechanic says that the electronic sequence of the transmission needs refreshed but has to wait for a Honda Repair Directive. Others have said that this issue is in one in three Honda Pilots with 10 speed transmissions.

Oct 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Just returned back home from a quick drive and the vehicle was sitting in my driveway. After about 20 min I walked by the car and noticed the entire back window in multiple pieces. There was no one that walked by or drove by. Pieces of glass were noted to be 10 feet behind the vehicle on the driveway. There was no one in the vehicle at the time and nothing in the trunk area that was potentially pressing on the glass. Vehicle was towed to the dealership where it was collision wrapped until the glass could be replaced.

Oct 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I purchased a 2024 Honda Pilot on [XXX]. In March, between the 4th & 22nd (approx 1800 mi) I thought I saw a crack but as my vehicle had been parked in the parking structure where I live adjacent the ports of LB & LA (prone to excessive dust) & recent rain/moisture causing the dust to form into lines I figured to wait until washing before confirming. On 3/22 I confirmed a crack - no point of impact. As I had planned a vacation to Mexico I opted to photograph the crack AND the vehicle in Mexico capturing date and location stamp. I returned on 4/16. On 4/29 I took my vehicle to El Monte Honda. I let the service advisor know about the crack & upon inspection he found a 2nd crack - no point of impact. The advisor said they were scratches on the inside - 2 piece laminated. I pushed back because the visible thickness of the crack I discovered did not match the hairline feel. He convinced me that replacing the windshield could lead to other issues such as leakage - a known problem on the current generation so I asked him to note the damage - he noted a scratch. I took the vehicle but ultimately decided it wasn't fair as both were in drivers line of sight. Upon return he said the system used to communicate between the dealership and manufacturer was down and would have to come back. I called 2 months later - no return call. 9/13/24 I decide to go to local dealer (Long Beach Honda). The service advisor inspected and said he would call Honda but did not. Driving away I noted a smudge where the advisor located a crack - a 3rd crack, no point of impact. Called Honda & they said no record of me going to the dealer. Closed case. On 10/1 I returned to LB Honda with a record from 4/29 and images. He said possible glass delamination but only because a Boeing engineer reenforced stress cracks. He did not return calls nor advise Honda. Called Honda. They refuse to do anything without a diagnosis and service advisors are running away in what appears a deliberate effort. Oct 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Automatic emergency breaking applied at 50mph on a perfectly clear road with not a single car around. Oct 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION Strange clicking noise during low speed steering left or right and moving steering wheel while parked. Honda dealer states they are unable to replicate issue. Issue is very unusual for a new vehicle. Multiple people have same issues on forums and Facebook groups. This is a potential safety issue if there is a faulty electrical steering gear box or suspension component. Honda needs to take responsibility and fix this issue instead of saying they can’t replicate it or that it maybe normal. I took video it is a sound that is audible inside and out.

Sep 2024 ENGINE When pushing the accelerator there is typically anywhere from a 2 to 5 second delay before the vehicle starts to move. On average the delay is around 2 seconds, but there have been times where trying to pull into traffic the vehicle would not move for approximately 4 to 5 seconds creating a hazard. When the care is moving at higher speeds, the acceleration and gas pedal response is accurate, this only occurs when at a stand still or at very slow speeds. I have taken the car to the dealership to be evaluated and they informed me that the vehicle is operating as it is intended to and the delay is normal. I believe that this acceleration delay is inevitably going to cause an accident because it is difficult to gauge when the care is going to begin moving due to the inconsistent acceleration issue.
