| Oct 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | On driving to the other side of the state from my home to visit family on [XXX] in Michigan, I was driving 70-75 miles per hour. It takes close to 3 hours of driving one way. There was a lot of insects hitting my windshield and when I used the wipers the water just flew over the windshield, not getting my window wet to enable the wipers to clean my windshield. If I am driving 30-50 miles per hour that doesn't happen. I could not get my windshield clean of the bugs which inpaired my vision. I talked with the service department and they said it is the way the wipers are made and they can not do anything about it. I did call Honda Customer Care Line and I have a case #[XXX]. They told me to contact you because it can be a hazard when traveling, which I do often to see my family. When I placed the vehicle in drive it started to back up. I still could not move the steering wheel. I placed the vehicle back into park, waited 3 to 4 seconds to analize the situation. I again placed the vehicle in drive and it would go in reverse altho in drive. I shut the car off waited a few seconds & I restart it. Now the steering wheel moved normally and when put in drive it went forward. Then as you attempt to make a minor correction to drive straight ahead, it seems to over correct. If you are stopped with the engine running and just apply very light pressure on the steering wheel either to the right or left, the steering wheel will skip a notch or two in the direction you are holding the wheel yet the tires do not turn at all. It does not allow me to escalate but after some time it escalates on its own. Due to reduce of speed suddenly puts me, co- passengers and other vehicles behind on risk of collision or even risk of life and same time unexpected escalation makes driver lose control. | Sep 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Component: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) My car has less than 2,000 miles on it. I have experienced the situation described below 3 times now. Traffic on a freeway/highway slowed down quickly, and I stepped on the brake pedal to slow down quickly but still gradually. However, the collision auto-braking system activated and my car suddenly halted to a stop with plenty of room (about 1 and a half cars length) ahead of me. In 2 of those situations, I can see the car behind me quickly react by swerving into the shoulder. Rather than improve safety, this feature created a dangerous situation. | Aug 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The Honda of Downtown Chicago dealership has informed us that there is a fuel injector problem with this vehicle. On 8/11/24 it caused the vehicle to cycle through a series of errors before it stopped accelerating on the highway with our young son inside, and eventually stopped moving altogether after we were able to get off on an exit. When the car failed, we were given a final Power System warning. It should be noted that we took the vehicle to the Honda of Downtown Chicago dealership months prior for a the same kind of warning lights (Emissions warning, Lane Departure warning, etc) and a very loud rumbling noise. At that time, the servicing team at the dealership DID NOT disclose that it was or could be a fuel injector issue. Instead, they said that the computer just needed to be “reset” and that the rumbling could be attributed to the vehicle being a hybrid. I slow down to reduce speed, then the system starts warning with a BRAKE signal and after that suddenly stops, to a complete stop, although this is absolutely not necessary, because the front car is very far. I was hit in the bumper once. I have a video of how it did it on the highway. I took my car to the dealer, they said it could be the audio entertainment system and it took them 4 months to get a replacement. The dealership told me it could be causes from too much light in the camera, the system overheating or an unknown cause. I had the camera switch to black and white on cooler days in my garage as well as out side on cloudy days. | Jul 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I own a 2024 Honda Hybrid Sport CR-V. The automatic emergency brake will engage only after seatbelts have been engaged. If you have not engaged seatbelts and turn the engine off, the emergency brake will not turn on creating a roll away hazard. This happened to me. I jumped in my car, realized that I left something in the house, turned the vehicle off, and without realizing, left the vehicle in neutral. The vehicle rolled out of our garage and struck another car in the neighborhood resulting in at least six thousand dollars in damages. Fortunately, there were no injuries. This needs to be standard in vehicles that do not utilize ignition keys as I am sure I am not alone in that my protocol has long been to take the key out an ignition anytime I exit a vehicle and this is the first time I have owned a vehicle of this type. Our Honda Pilot will automatically place the vehicle in park if someone turns off the ignition, there is no reason for this or, at the very least, an auto emergency brake not to be an option in CR-V regardless of seatbelt actions.
