Oct 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER I had gone out to do errands in the morning. My errands were in a nearby military base, approximately 4 miles from my home. When I returned, I parked in my driveway. When I went back to my vehicle to retrieve something, there was a large (approximately 2 foot) crack on my windshield. It was not there on my morning errand run and there was no other way the windshield would have cracked. This is a 2023 Jeep purchased on March 11, 2023. The vehicle currently only has 3,141 miles on it. I am concerned that there is a defect on the windshield glass, a much crucial part of a vehicle's safety feature. There are other Jeepers are reporting the same issue, but we have no place to turn to because the dealers shut us down!

Oct 2023 STEERING When hitting bumps on the highway, my Jeep gets what is referred to as the “death wobble”. The steering wheel (and wheels themselves) shake violently. This is such a well known occurance that it actually had the term “death wobble” assigned to it. It is very hard to maintain control of the vehicle when this happens, creating a hazard for me and others in vehicles around me. Many times I have to come to a complete stop to stop the shaking. This is also a problem because I have to decrease speed quickly and pull off the road, creating a collision risk if anyone is following closely or cannot get over into another lane. This has occurred on multiple occasions.

Oct 2023 POWER TRAIN I was driving about 35 mph on a residential street on 10/24/23 at approximately 18:30 listening to a podcast steaming from my phone. The Jeep was in BEV mode and the ICE motor was not activated for my entire drive home. A warning chime sounded and I looked at the center display and it said, "Depress brake and shift out of P to drive." I was already driving and the transmission indicator read D3 (drive, third gear). Power was lost and the vehicle would not accelerate. I started to slow down so I attempted to pull over and put the vehicle into neutral. The transmission would not shift into neutral. Then, as I slowed towards a curb, the car abruptly stopped without warning causing the car behind me to swerve out of the way or it would have rear ended me. The brake lights did not illuminate when I was forced to stop. The center display showed "Depress brake and shift out of P to drive." I shifted the transmission into P then D and it drove fine the rest of the way home, about 2.5 miles. This is the first time I've ever encountered this.

Sep 2023 STEERING,POWER TRAIN On the evening of Sept. 13th I was driving in-town appx. 25mph, pulling into a Walmart shopping center, when my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe (Purchased in July of 2023) unexpectedly, with NO WARNING shut down! It reduced speed immediately and went into a "coasting mode" almost causing the car behind me to rear-end me. I immediately put on my hazard lights and was attempting to turn the corner to pull it into the parking lot when my steering column seized and the vehicle shut off completely. There were warning lights on the instrument panel, however, I was unable to focus on what they were as I was in sheer panic mode trying not hit or be hit by the sudden shut down of my vehicle. The only warning I can recall was to put the car in park, which I was unable to do because I was in the middle of the road, with no area to pull over too. I have owned my vehicle for just over two months and at the time of the incident this evening the vehicle has 2, 727 miles, 1/2 tank of gas, the battery voltage was normal and it had a small amount of charge. I have read numerous articles stating, including one from NHTSA, that the recall does not affect my jeep as it was manufactured in Oct. 2022. This is incorrect information and if anyone had bothered to do any investigations would find that there are hundreds of complaints on Jeep forums for Jeep Wrangler 4xe's manufactured AFTER the 8/17/22 having this problem. The bigger issue is that there is NO RECALL for the issue because it is past the "end" date for the recall. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS!! I drive on the highway EVERY DAY to go to work and I can't imagine what would have happened if I had been in the left hand, passing lane when this occurred. SOMEONE COULD BE KILLED! I am bringing my vehicle to Lee Auto Mall Dealership/Service Center in Westbrook, ME first thing tomorrow morning to have the issue looked into / corrected and to inquire if this particular recall had been completed for this vehicle.

The contact stated that after activating the front windshield wipers, the instrument cluster light brightness was reduced, making it very difficult for the driver to read the speedometer, and additional information on the instrument panel. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.

Sep 2023 FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V263000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Sep 2023 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE I understand this is an ongoing recall, but will the NHTSA get involved to help push for a resolution? I have not had a vehicle since March and according to Jeep, the "fix" is still in an engineering and design phase which could take months/years. There was a class action lawsuit and Jeep asked to have the lawsuit dropped if they did a voluntary recall. Well, now it feels like since they are not under a lawsuit, they can take their time with the recall. Who can help push Jeep into getting this thing done? Thank you.

Aug 2023 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE Yesterday 8/27/23 at 5pm I pulled into a parking lot and then into a parking space. As I came to a stop my Jeep lunged forward into the vehicle that was parked in front of me. At the time my Jeep Wrangler 4XE was operating in Hibrid mode running on electric with 49% charge left. As my Jeep came to a stop the gasoline engine started and the Jeep lunged forward striking the vehicle in front of me pushing it approximately 3 feet back before coming to a stop. This action caused significant damage to the other vehicle and minor damage to my jeep. I believe it was the abrupt start of the gasoline engine that caused the jeep to lunge forward even though my foot was on the brake. This action put me and others at risk, it was fortunate that the othe vehicle was unoccupied. I have contacted Jeep thru online email concerning this accident but at this time have not received a response. The police department was contacted and an officer responded to the scene. The officer observed the damage to both vehicles and did file an accident report. There were no warning lamps, warnings, or other symptoms of a problem prior to this incident.

Aug 2023 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS I was driving down a side street when I received several warning lights for service shifter, airbags, seatbelts as well as the engine and all gauges cutting in and out. Following that my power steering went out and I could barely steer the vehicle. I had to call roadside assistance to tow the vehicle. The following fault codes wers pulled via obdii: U0001, U0151, U0155, U017E, U0418, U1442. Each code related to a malfunction with "CAN BUS C" or what the dealership referred to as a "star connector". After further research it is apparent that this part has continued to fail on many jeep wranglers dating back to 2018 and every report I have seen the person has stated the same issue of losing power steering. My jeep is a 2023 and now needs this part replaced. Why hasn't there been a recall on these vehicles for this faulty part? Why does chrysler continue to use these faulty parts on current vehicles when they know of their failure rate? This is a serious safety issue and should have been addressed years ago. Something must be done before someone gets hurt or killed.

Aug 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The contact's daughter owned a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Hybrid. The contact stated while his daughter was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle ahead of hers stopped unexpectedly. The contact stated that the daughter slammed on the brakes and swerved to the right; however, the driver's side front end of the vehicle hit the passenger's side rear end of the other vehicle and damaged its taillight. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that it was a fender-bender. The contact's daughter then noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle. The contact's daughter immediately exited the vehicle and contacted emergency services. The vehicle caught on fire and burned significantly. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. The contact was unsure whether a fire department report was filed. A police report was filed. The contact's daughter did not sustain any injury. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,077.

Aug 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS After hitting a bump driving normal highway speeds 45+ mph the car begins to shake and vibrate vigorously. It feels like you will lose control of the vehicle and the only way to stop these vibrations is to slow down to 30-40mph. Stopping like this on the freeway seems extremly unsafe when traffic is flowing. The dealership referred to this issue as the "Jeep Death Wobble" and it is apparently a known issue. The vehicle has been into the shop already twice and they have failed to correct the issue. The first time they replaced the stabilizer and the second time they were unable to replicate the issue to the traffic in the area and being not able to drive at highway speeds. Stellantis/FCA have requested I continue to to Drive this vehicle even with these issues saying this is not a safety issue.

Aug 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE 4XE electric mode, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle said Electric Mode Temporarily Not available. The car loss power as I was going 70 MPH and it loss power and slowed to 8mph. The diesel traveling behind us slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting us and he tailspinned and caused a huge accident, all cars behind him had to come to a halt. I had my 2 year old granddaughter in her carseat in the back and my 70 year old mother in the front, we could have been killed. I have over 30 videos of this occurring and the vehicle only has less than 300 miles on it. The two local dealerships said they could not "duplicate" the problem and one told me not to drive in electric mode so, well would would be the purpose of me purchasing a hybrid if I can't use that function. The other dealership told me if I find out the problem to let him know for his future customers. There were no warning lights besides the Electric Mode not available flashing on the dash. Chrysler Auto Finance, the dealership where I purchased from, everyone giving me the run around and no one will help me.

Aug 2023 STEERING,STRUCTURE The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle rooftop was made of fiber glass that dropped on the vehicle occupants while driving. The contact stated that the fiber glass could cause health issues if inhaled. The contact stated that the dealer had replaced the rooftop once, and the freedom panels twice; however, the failure persisted as the replacement parts were made of the same materials. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the top was made from trust and bonded fiber glass. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 40-60 MPH, the steering wheel was shuddering back and forth, causing the vehicle to vibrate and to sway. The contact also stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle pulled to the left side. The contact turned the steering to the right in order to keep the vehicle in the lane. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the steering wheel was realigned twice; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 400.

Jul 2023 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE I'll start by stating that I currently have two Jeep Wrangler JL models that are identical, a 2020 and the one that I'm contacting you about the 2023. There is a safety issue with the 2023 where the vehicle programming causes the engine to rev itself to around 2,800 RPM's upon a cold start. This is after the engine has warmed up to operating temperature at idle. So the safety complaint is that as I begin to drive the vehicle in a parking lot with pedestrians in it, the vehicle will auto rev while in gear causing excessive and unsafe speeds in that situation. My identical 2020 Jeep Wrangler does not and never has done this. I strongly suspect that this is an emissions compliance programming issue with the software to heat up the catalytic convertor. Whatever their reasoning for doing this it's still an unsafe vehicle feature, one that multiple other owners have stated that they are having the same issue. I have reached out to FCA to no avail, case# 86685993. I do look forward to hearing from you and hope that with your assistance we can get this safety issue figured out. Thank you!

Jul 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER While driving on a major interstate, on a clear day, with no outstanding or extreme influences and traveling with traffic at a standard rate of speed (70 mph), a small roughly dime sized rock hit my windshield. This resulted in an immediate, large radial crack and approximately 9 inch lateral crack across my windshield. The rock was traveling slow enough that I could see it coming. Further research shows that this is a known issue to the manufacturer and owners, which is why the manufacturer offers an upgraded glass option for durability. This makes sense for off-roading or in a way inconsistent with manufacturers recommendation, but it is a safety issue if the glass cannot maintain during normal operation. I have concerns with every rock until it is replaced. It has been inspected by manufacturer/dealer, and I am paying to have it upgraded and replaced. However, I have concerns that it may result in injuries in event of a crash, or just in the course of normal operation. In a long history of driving, I’ve never experienced such extreme damage from a minor item, which calls into question what the risk would’ve been with a more severe incident.

Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Brand new 2023 wrangler with 600 miles on it that I’ve had for 4 days and the engine completely cut off on the busy highway with my whole family in the car. Message appeared on the screen stating “performance limited, service charging system”.
