Apr 2024 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL I was driving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Willys on a 4 lane divided road approaching a stop light. The stoplight was red so I started slowing down approximately 200 feet from the intersection. I applied the brake pedal and the vehicle started to slow down. As I was approaching the intersection I could feel the vehicle accelerating and it was difficult to get it to stop. I was almost stopped approximately 3 - 5 feet from the vehicle in front of me, when the jeep lunged forward and struck the vehicle in front of me. The jeep continued to accelerate and was trying to push the vehicle in front of me. I shoved the gear shift into Park and that stopped the acceleration. I never took my foot off of the brake pedal during the entire incident. The force of the acceleration lifted the front of my vehicle and my bumper went on top of the other vehicle's bumper and dented the rear hatch of the other vehicle. There were no indicator lights before or after the incident. I drove the vehicle to my home approximately a mile from the accident without issues. I later had the vehicle towed to the CDJR dealer for inspection. After 3 weeks in the Service center, they did not find any issues and could not reproduce the problem and the vehicle was released back to me.

Mar 2024 STEERING The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the contact was veering to the right when the steering wheel failed to respond as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle needed a stabilizer however, the part was on backorder. The contact also stated that the steering wheel was shaking when the vehicle was first purchased new and that the vehicle was taken to the dealer at least five times prior to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the part would be sent sooner. The approximate failure mileage was 14,217.

Mar 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION Driving on interstate @ 65 mph, in very heavy traffic, experienced death wobble after going over a road seam bump, making it hard to control the vehicle. Slowed down to 50 and it stopped. I was terrified I was going to crash. It happened several more times during the same trip, whenever over 55 mph. Brought to dealer on 11/27/2023. Dealer says Stellantis is aware of the issue -- and has been sued for it in the past -- but it's been 4 months and Stellantis has not yet provided the replacement part. This is a brand new vehicle with about 4,000 miles on it, and the death wobble continues to occur whenever over 55 mph. Infuriating that Stellantis is aware of this issue yet is still installing malfunctioning parts.

Mar 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE Starting in late February 2024, my new vehicle has had numerous major oil leaks which have not been able to be repaired successfully. Oil has leaked out and pooled on the drivers side of the transmission bell house. Given the oil leaks proximity to the heat from the turbo charger down pipe, exhaust pipe, and various other ignition sources, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for catching on fire. This could result in a accident or serious bodily injury up to death of myself or others. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. Given the volume of oil leaking from the undercarriage of the vehicle, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for engine seizure from lack of lubrication. This could result in the engine stalling causing an accident or serious bodily injury up to death of myself or others. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. The vehicle has been repaired three separate times by the dealership, no warning lights ever appeared.

Mar 2024 SUSPENSION At speeds between 55-65 MPH, inconsistently the car will shake so violently I have to nearly stop the car to make cease shaking. The vehicle shakes so badly other drivers slow down to avoid being around. It feels as though it’s going to fall apart. I’ve taken the car 4 times now for repair and the dealership has had the car for 32 consecutive days with no solution.

Mar 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Brand new jeep has been at the dealership for 11weeks to have electrical issues and radio issues fixed. As of today, it still has not been fixed but the dealership wants to release it back to me until a special group of engineers/IT come up with a remedy. The vehicle has never ran properly.

Mar 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION When driving the vehicle at 60mph or faster, the steering wheel will begin to shake uncontrollably and continue to rattle for approximately 30 seconds until the vehicle is reduced speed to about 40mph or less. If I resume speed again, the shaking vibrations will continue to happen repeatedly. This puts my safety at risk when I attempt to drive on the freeway and approach the speed limit and causes me to reduce my speed to an unsafe speed far lower than the flow of traffic on the freeway. In addition, while the vehicle is vibrating/shaking, there is a lack of control of the vehicle and puts the driver in a panic state, because it feels like a flat/blown tire at such a high speed. The vehicle was taken into the dealership and they would not check the problem until I paid for an alignment maintenance fee of over $300. Therefore, I proceeded with the costs and they discovered some parts that need to be replaced by the factory. In spite of this, the dealership is holding me responsible for the process of elimination charges because the extended warranty XF1 and recall V41 are not attached to my VIN on this vehicle. However, these recalls are attached to vehicles made on or before November 2020 and my vehicle was built November 2022. I am aware of this issue, because my prior jeep wrangler vehicle was a 2019 and I experienced the same safety issues, and I brought it in and found out about the recall issued and it was repaired for my safety. However, the same safety issues are occurring in my 2023 jeep wrangler with only 25,000 miles on it, but no recalls are attached to my VIN to assist with the problem. Each time the vehicle malfunctions there is no warning lamps, no messages or any other symptoms of the problem prior to failure. The incident first started to appear around 2/2/2024 & continued to happen more frequently with time. I scheduled the repair at the jeep dealership on 2/27/2024 and they currently still have my vehicle for this malfunction.

Mar 2024 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL While driving on the freeway, the car showed a message saying “performance issue” and lost power. I couldn’t accelerate and the car stopped. I couldn’t power on or down the car. It looked like an alternator issue and it wasn’t giving enough power to the battery. AAA arrived hour and half later. Tried to jump but it didn’t do anything. Finally had to tow the car to the nearest dealership. The car is not even a year old and has less than 10k miles. Its a safety issue being stuck like that without any warning signs at middle of the freeway!

Feb 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Vehicle continues to shut down while driving. Has happened over 10 times and have brought it in several times. Shuts down while driving at hiway speed. Have to get it stopped and then all the electrical goes haywire flashing. Eventually shutdown the truck and wait and restart. After 15 min or so able to get it to power up and drive again. Will do it again and again. Very dangerous. After about an hour the engine lights and everything goes away as if nothing happened. I also have video of the dashboard from one of the times it did it.

Feb 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION My 2023 Jeep Wrangler is experiencing the "Death Wobble" while driving down the highway or on uneven paved roads. During the "Death Wobble", the steering wheel starts shaking uncontrollably. I have to decelerated to regained control of the vehicle, at which point the shaking of the steering wheel stops. This has become a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed as having defective tires from Bridgestone. The dealership is requesting the consumer buy new tires to remediated the death wobble and defective tires from Bridgestone.

Jan 2024 SUSPENSION The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH and driving over a bump in the road, the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. The vehicle had experienced a death wobble. The contact decelerated and regained control of the vehicle, and the shaking of the steering wheel ceased. The contact stated that the failure occurred at 50 MPH or speeds exceeding 50 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The failure became a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front axle and front-end failure were caused by a defective steering damper. The dealer expressed that there was no remedy for the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

Jan 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM This is the second time this jeep stalls out on us. This most recent time we were traveling on the freeway going about 70mph when all the sudden the jeep’s motor shuts off and is unresponsive. We are literally coasting in the middle of nowhere hoping the vehicle has enough momentum to get out of the way. Something was blinking on the dash but i couldnt pay attention to that as I was trying to pull over safely. Jeep did not start back up until 2 hours of of waiting on freeway. There are a ton of recalls for this vehicle and as it sits right now the plug in for EV port is not working at all. It makes a ton a strange noises. And to top it off this is a rental car that shouldnt be on the streets earning revenue. This jeep needs to be appropriately recalled before someone gets injured.

Jan 2024 STEERING Since new in December 2023 this vehicle has excessive wander while driving straight. This requires constant correction of the steering wheel just to go straight. Anything less than 100% attention can result in loss of control. The wander is related to excessive free play of the steering wheel which allows approximately 2” in each direction from center before the tires move. Three visits to two Jeep dealers resulted in “functioning normally” diagnosis summaries. This is a safety issue in my opinion and Jeep at least needs a documented procedure for dealerships to measure the steering free play.

Dec 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS Violent shaking of the front end (wheels/tires and steering wheel) after hitting a bump in the road. The “death wobble” occurred twice since I bought the vehicle new from a dealership about a year ago. The miles are low (2,000) as the Jeep is my extra vehicle, and no modifications have been done. The first time it happened I was going about 55 mph, and the second time about 65 mph. After the second incident I reviewed the internet and saw the death wobble class action suit that does not cover post-2020 Wranglers. Both incidents occurred during the day on dry and well maintained roads. I made a dealership appointment after the second occurrence, but can’t get in until 1/9/2024. Loss of steering/control in traffic makes this a serious issue.

Dec 2023 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Dec 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Our jeep is a leased vehicle with approx 5,200 miles. While riding on the highway going approx 65 mph the vehicle began to death wobble causing the driver to nearly lose control of the car. We were on a 4 lane interstate that could have resulted in a severe accident had the driver actually lost control. With so few miles on the vehicle there is no reason other than a manufacturing defect that would explain how this vehicle could already be experiencing death wobble, a known issue with jeeps

Dec 2023 STEERING,ENGINE When vehicle is in drive gear, the steering system has a high pitch squeal. It gets louder when the steering wheel is turned. It makes the squealing noise when the tires are straight, when turned a little left or right, and all the way left and right. No warning lights are on or have ever turned on. The engine area also makes a loud tapping noise only when in gear. Loud enough to hear in the cab. I took it to the dealership, after they had it for over 8 hours, I was told all was normal, and even another new model makes the same noises. It must be the new electrical steering system sounds. To have an inspection done, I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, after I had asked if it was normal and the service manager heard and confirmed, a service mechanic and the lead mechanic. All came out at a different time said something sounds like it might be off. The steering issue puts me at risk and other drivers, mainly truck drivers because this vehicle is my daily driver, and I put about 40-80 miles daily, at least 3/4 of the time is driving on a major highway. Our highway has had a ton of roadwork recently, which puts workers at risk.

Nov 2023 STEERING,POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL As I was driving home at around 45 mph, I noticed a flashing light on the dashboard. The light was instructing me to switch to 'P' to start. Additionally, there was a light indicating a plug-in, and the 'D' was flashing. I wasn't sure what was happening, but I knew something was wrong. Gradually, the acceleration slowed down, and I started to feel uneasy. I quickly pulled over to the side of the road. Luckily, the car behind me wasn't speeding, and they were able to slow down and give me space. I put the car in park, turned it off, and then turned it on again. After doing so, I waited for a few seconds, hoping that the problem would be resolved. To my relief, the flashing lights disappeared, and the car started normally. I checked the dashboard again, and everything seemed to be in order. I resumed driving but couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Now, driving on the highway in Orlando worries me.

Nov 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Lost total power in the fast lane on the freeway! Lots of flashing indicators: "Service Charging System", "Brake and Push Button to Start", Transmission Gear "D" flashing with the gear it was in "D and little 8", telling me to put it in Park while I was driving on the freeway trying to get over to the side...how is that even possible?, further it was coming to a stop quickly like a heavy regenerative braking was one making it even more dangerous as we would about to come to a total stop on the freeway! (I read someone in a Tesla died this way). This was dangerous for us and the cars around us. I have read they have a recall for this very issues in Dec 2022, but MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED in the recall so there is a much bigger issue going on! All my recalls are up to date per the dealership. So need NHTSA to step in/up! I attached pictures of what was on the dash after we got over the side of the freeway (was not able to record while it occur for safety reasons, of course).
