| Dec 2024 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS | My wife was driving my kids to school and the jeep went into limp mode. This jeep relies too much on the battery to run everything and the batteries failed, at 39k and 2 years of ownership. It was showing steering, sos, brake, airbag, anti collision system failures with no prior warnings. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | I was driving on the interstate when dark (during the evening hours). I had the headlights on via the "auto" position. Without any warning the dashboard lights and headlights shut off. This has happened on two different occasions, [XXX] and [XXX]. After stopping, shutting off the car and restarting the lights resumed working. I have since taken the car to a Jeep dealership for repair. The dealership told me they need support from Chrysler and that I needed to contact Chrysler to set up a case. I did that on 11/21/2024. After making that initial contact Chrysler has been unresponsive. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Nov 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Report: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023 table number [XXX]. Vin [XXX] Piston malfunction. **Vehicle:** 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tablet:[XXX]. Vin [XXX] **Date of purchase** February 2023. **Problem:** Piston malfunction That began in September 2023. **Dealer:** Alberic Colón Chrysler, Jeep, Puerto Rico **Event timeline:** 1. September 2023: The malfunction of the piston in the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023 began. 2. September 4, 2023: He visited the dealership, Alberic Colón, to report the malfunction and request repairs. The dealer did not adequately document the malfunction during this visit. 3. May 1, 2023: A second visit to the dealership was made for the same problem, but the malfunction was not resolved and the problem persisted. 4. **September 2024:** Another visit was made to the dealer, since the piston problem remains unresolved and the dealer has not yet addressed or adequately documented the malfunction. In all previous visits it is documented by the concessionaire that at the time of the test it did not present condition. 5. **Current status (to date):** The problem remains unresolved and we have continued to be without a vehicle every time the unit is taken to the warranty area. The amount of time that the vehicle is in the workshop is indefinite and at no time has we been offered a vehicle similar to a loaner as established by regulations #19 and #21 of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO). Despite multiple attempts to solve the problem, the dealer has not repaired the vehicle and the problem continues. This last time we have been without a vehicle for the whole month of September 2024. This represents a chronic anguish for our family, since we depend on our vehicle to be able to work in our accounting business. In addition to all this, this problem with the unit has created an insecurity in us, since at any time it can leave us without service; we have the responsibility to pick up and leave our grandchildr INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | LANE DEPARTURE | Jeep Cares case [XXX] While driving with Lane Keeping Assistance/cruise control enabled, on a dry clear road (XXX) Between Exit [XXX] and Exit [XXX] - both directions. It has happened elsewhere, but these are our major commuting route. The jeep would all the sudden veer to the right or left out of the lane, and we would have to fight the lane tracking to keep it centered in lane. Our Jeep Wrangler has been in the repair shop for at least 4 occurrences of the issue. 1st was initial diagnosis at about 6,000 miles. Was told that the sensors needed realignment and to bring back so they could keep for the day and it was long process. At that appointment we were told that the alignment was out and needed to be adjusted. During the adjustment, a part was damaged and needed to be replaced, the replacement part was damaged requiring a 3rd part. Time in shop was almost 30 days. 2nd attempt was about 24,000 miles. This time the alignment of sensors was performed, but on test drives, it still ended up pulling to the right and repair shop consulted with Jeep engineers about the situation and determined that at least one part needed to be replaced. Time in shop was another 30 days. After this repair, it pulls even harder and requires additional force to maintain center lane, including more occurrences pulling to the left into oncoming traffic. At 35,000 miles, opened case with Jeep Cares as warrantee is due to expire at 36,000 miles. Jeep currently at repair and after multiple test drives... they are not able to find the trouble. This is a safety issue as it unexpectedly pulls the vehicle into oncoming traffic. | Nov 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | UCONNECT SCREEN BLANKS OUT AND GOES OFF SOMETIMES PREVENTING BACK UP CAMERA FROM GOING ON. THE SYSTEM RESETS AND COMES BACK SOMETIMES ON IT'S OWN OTHER TIMES RESET PROCEDURE NEEDS TO BE DONE. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER ON MANY OCCASSIONS IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. THEIR ANSWER I ALWAYS THE SAME JEEP IS AWARE OF IT AND WORKING ON IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN BACK UP CAMERA DOESN'T SHOW ON SCREEN AND SHOULD BE REMEDIED. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROX 15 TIMES SINCE MY LEASE STARTED. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The software controlling the driver information system on this vehicle is continually having issues. Randomly, the system will stop working with system rebooting while driving. Normal features like hands free phone calls and navigation will stop responding. This leads to driver confusion and takes attention away from driving the vehicle. Also randomly, chimes will bong with no indication of what is happening on the dash or vehicle display. Attempts have been made for an "over the air" software update via Wi-Fi per the owner's manual, but the owner's manual doesn't accurately describe the navigation and software options of the system (menus incorrect, options are non-existent, etc). This car can be frightening when it suddenly acts up in traffic and there is no indication as to what is happening. This has all randomly happened since the car was new and continues to happen. The date below is just an arbitrary date since it happens consistently since new. This has occurred at any speed or mileage. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SEAT BELTS | I have had 2 incidents in which the 2nd row seat belts on either of the end seats fails to release. The first incident resulted in a seat belt being wrapped around the headrest and unable to release. I had to take the car to a mechanic for it be undone resulting in a broken headrest. This was in May 2024. Today the seatbelt was stuck around my child's abdomen. The seatbelt got tighter around his stomach and he tried get out of it. I parked the car and tried to get the seatbelt to release and it refused to. It continued to get tighter and tighter making it difficult to breathe. I had to call 911 for assistance on the side of the road. 2 police officers had to help me lift him and get him free- the entire time the seatbelt refused to release. My son has bruises and scratches from trying to get out and now is terrified to wear a seatbelt. There is something wrong with the mechanism for the seatbelt that does not allow it release. I am now scared that if we are in an accident and the seatbelt tightens across someone's chest or one of my children's neck that I won't be able to get them out in time. This has been reported to Jeep who advised that I fill out this form. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SEAT BELTS | The contact owns an Evenflo Car Seat, Model number 37312370, Model Type: Gold Shyft Dual Ride. The manufacturing date was unknown. The car seat was being utilized in a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the safety seat belt buckle was easily opened. The contact stated that her [XXX] daughter was able to easily unbuckle herself from the restraints. The failure occurred inside the vehicle. The child was in the car seat at the time of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | STEERING | For the second time since the vehicle was purchased EPS failed. The first time there were other issues and errors. The car cannot safely be driven under these conditions. When taken to the dealer they say they cannot recreate the issue and then it is drivable. Our concern is that these issues are not being properly logged and there is a serious electrical defect in the car that could result in a failure while it is being driven. Since there is "no trouble found" it does not need to be logged by the dealer and information will never reach the OEM to note an issue and drive recalls or corrective quality actions. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES,BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The automatic emergency braking system activates randomly while driving abruptly stopping the vehicle in traffic. This has happened several times and we no longer feel safe driving. Luckily no one has been behind us when it happens otherwise I feel a crash would be unavoidable. The vehicle has now been to the dealer twice with no repairs made. The techs are always unable to duplicate the concern. Last time this happened my wife was driving around 40mph when the crash warning message flashed and stopped the vehicle. (no one was in the way). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle was shaking severely, vibrating, and bucking, causing the driver to almost lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle started losing motive power and stalled. During the failure, the "Power Steering" and "Power Brake" failure warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The contact stated that the secondary battery was previously replaced due to a failure with starting the vehicle. The failure mileage was 44,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 44,000 |
| Sep 2024 | ENGINE | Engine Mounts are faulty / victim of design fault. I have had my engine mounts replaced twice within the first 7,000 miles of ownership (at 3,825 miles and again at 6,583 miles). Per my service advisor this is a common issue with all Grand Cherokee models and he anticipates the need to replace them again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE | Massive alerts, on and off every few miles, then power steering locked out when pulling into an intersection. Almost was hit. Luckily, I was able to put the car in reverse and back into the side street. This needs immediate attention. Had the vehicle towed to dealer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SUSPENSION | The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the garage, he noticed that the rear coil spring was on the ground. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear coil springs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. While walking away from the parked vehicle, there was a popping sound and a bang coming from the vehicle. The contact then saw that the rear coil spring had detached and was rolling down the driveway. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V413000 (Suspension). The manufacturer was contacted and declined a buyback and trade-in assistance request. The failure mileage was approximately 26,800. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 26,800 |

| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Started vehicle and had no power steering. Tried multiple times starting the vehicle, no luck. Came back after 45 minutes and tried again and the vehicle was fine. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2024 | SUSPENSION | drive shaft is making a scary noise when accelerating an I read the info this is nothing to play with I would like to have this looked at again this will be my 3rd time | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION | This vehicle had a software update for the cross traffic warning and rear view camera. The camera is working but since this update, the cross alarms do not work consistently. Just today, I almost backed into a parked car, no alarms or anything. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | SUSPENSION,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | No warning lights have come on. Two different dealerships have worked on this car 10 different times over the course of a year. In November, 2023 I sent a certified letter to jeep with my concerns and I also contacted Chrysler board of arbitration by phone (# given to me by Ohio Attorney Generals office) on 12/1/23, 12/4/23, 12/5/23 and left messages each time. I never received a call back about my messages so I got an attorney in December 2023 for the rattling noise my car has made almost the entire time ive had it. -Bought in May, 2023 -Heard the noise and put it in the shop for a pre-vacation inspection to fix what was going on before me, my 2 small kids, and my husband drove to Florida. Seemed weird to have such a new car in the shop already with noise safety concerns. -Been back and forth to dealerships more times than I should have to...a couple times theyve had my car for 3 weeks at a time. Everytime I have to unload/load carseats when i drop off and then unload/load back up when i get my car only to find it hasnt been fixed. -My attorney acts like he is at the complete mercy of the manufacturer for a resolution and this lemon case has gone on for 9 months now. -i need a safe, reliable car and for this process to be resolved in a more timely matter. I am currently at a Jeep dealership now becasue again, I will be traveling this weekend with my kids in the car even though I am uneasy about doing so but I cant stop living but it seems unfair and like no one cares that we are driving around in a car that no one can fix or that I paid a lot of money for a reallllly noisey car that I have to take back and forth to the shop a million times and worry and stress about if it going to cause a crash while im driving down the highway. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION | I have owned this car for almost 1 year. from day one this "radio" area 10" screen with a computer behind it has been over heating and glitching out. The effects of this are several and random. Freezing and restarting randomly. Calls dropping from car to phone and back again intermittantly. While using gps maps will freeze so i miss turns and i am not where the maps says i am. After reversing the backup picture on screen from camera will sometime freeze on screen even 5 min after I am moving forward and it is a frozen picture. Most recently a disturbing saftey issue is that i was backing into my driveway and the screen froze and not backing up warning sound or visual was real time and i almost hit my fence, as my screen showed green lines and that i was plenty far away when in fact i was inches from the fencing. The dealership has replaced the glass screen but NOT the modual or computer behind it. They have sent me softare updates over the air. I have heard from them and from others this is a major issues with this model and year with these panasonic computers in them. I am very sad and frustrated about this! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | When headlights are in auto position the automatic high beam does not function. Driver can not override and turn headlights to high or low. Very dangerous. Limits visibility. Increases risk of collis | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
