Jan 2024 SUSPENSION Took my car in for a recall in June 2023 and as of January of 2024, the dealer has still failed to fix the issue.

Jan 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER My on board screen for everything the car does shuts down completely very often and if it is not shut down it goes black screen for a few seconds and then returns. This is not acceptable to me as I lose my navigation which I depend on a lot

Dec 2023 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Dashboard showed Transmission Error Message: Service Transmission Continue in D, Do Not Shift or Turn off Engine Until you Reach a Desired Location, You may not be able to shift again until serviced. Vehicle was stuck in 1st gear and would not shift out for 5 minutes. Taken to dealer with engine light on and shown pictures of error messages and dealer found nothing wrong with vehicle. This all happened on a highway and I had to navigate from high speeds to slow and stop in the exit lane.

Dec 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Driver Display goes out every couple days (or when it feels like it) Display goes blank and you must stop and turn off car to get it back on. All controls, as camera, gps, handsfree calls are not operational when the display goes into a reboot mode and then blank, under you pull over and shut the car off, turn it back on and then it's back to normal. Sometimes it just reboots while driving of no reason while on a call, following directions using GPS etc. Safety concern since while driving driver (myself) while alone in car will try to get back working if I'm on a call or following the GPS. I know it's my fault for doing so while driving but under certain circumstances it human nature to try getting it all working again when you're lost or in a area you're not familiar with and could cause a major accident or put my life or someone else's in danger trying to fix it while driving. Most times is works normal for like a week or two, then its starts over. Deal told me it's nothing they can fix since many may have the same issues and it's a software problem that only comes from over the air waves. Well, Jeep keeps telling there's a update coming every quarter and when that quarter comes and I still have issues they tell me "oh there's another update coming in the beginning of the next quarter etc... Been told this 3 times now, and the latest now is there's a update coming in the 1st quarter of 2024 to correct that issue

Dec 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL I rented a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee at our local airport (Monterey, California) and drove it to Los Angeles and back for a total of about 700 miles over four days. I am an experienced driver and have been working on cars all my adult life. On several occasions, I attempted to the use the cruise control function to set a fixed speed for my journey. In doing so, I would first turn cruise control ON, accelerate to the desired speed, then MOMENTARILY press the SET button, at which point the vehicle would 'remember' my current speed and maintain this speed indefinitely. Nothing unusual about this, and it's how I've used cruise control in multiple cars over the years. Now, as in a lot of cruise control systems, one may use the SET button to cause the vehicle to accelerate, instead of pressing on the gas pedal. This is also a common way of doing things. One holds down the SET button, the vehicle increases speed, and once the vehicle gets to the desired speed, one releases the button and the current speed is maintained. But not in this Jeep Grand Cherokee. Instead, I found that if I pressed and held down the SET button for a few seconds that the vehicle would CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE long after I had released the SET button. For example: Traveling at 75 mph, I held the SET button for two or three seconds and released it. The vehicle began to accelerate at about two seconds, but continued accelerating for a period of twenty seconds, until I finally stepped on the brake, at which time the vehicle had reached 91 mph. In my run to LA and back, I tested the system several times. In the above example, I used my cell phone to make a video recording of the event. I'm glad to share this with NHTSA staff. My general belief is that this is not a one-off defect. It is the way the system is designed to behave, and it's unsafe. There are a few comments on the web pertaining to 2021 & 2022 Jeep products that support what I have said here.

Nov 2023 SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE My vehicle was stopped for several minutes on an upgrade, with stopped cars in front of me due to a traffic jam. I needed to keep pressure on the brake, lest my car roll backwards. After about three minutes, brake pedal lost pressure and my foot went to floor. The engine then went into gear and my car rammed car in front. Engine stalled on impact and was hard to restart. Vehicle currently at Jeep dealer awaiting inspection from Stellantis tech team. This situation reported to their customer care center. No warning lights appeared on dash prior to crash. Indeed, this could have been a more serious accident. I will never trust this vehicle again, and intend to take steps to exit my lease.

Nov 2023 STRUCTURE While driving on the freeway, our sunroof window exploded and shattered completely. We were not around any other cars or an overpass. Thankfully the upper screen was closed otherwise glass would have fallen on us. I have read on Jeep forums that this is happening to a lot of newer Grand Cherokees, so it has to be a manufacturing issue.

Nov 2023 STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Front panel of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered with no visible causes, warnings, etc. Safety risks included potential glass being introduced to the cab of the vehicle had the headliner panel been open for natural lighting. Other risks include damaged headliner and electrical components depending on where the glass traveled. Dealership claims this is not an ongoing issue though multiple forums talk about this happening as well for the same style vehicle. We will be dropping car off at the dealership for evaluation as the car is covered under bumper to bumper warranty.

Oct 2023 STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE I am reaching out to discuss a serious and concerning issue I recently experienced with my Jeep Grand Cherokee L. While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power steering completely, making it incredibly difficult to control. This was not only unexpected but also quite frightening, given the potential for accidents in such situations. To add to the concern, about six warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. Notably, messages like "Blind Spot Monitoring System Unavailable", "Lane Assistance", and, most critically, a warning about the power steering were displayed. I noticed the check engine light come up as well and the detectors on my mirrors were lit up as if the entire system was malfunctioning. Having looked into potential causes, I came across a recall notice for the 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L models regarding a steering assembly issue. I am deeply concerned that my vehicle might be affected by this recall and, considering the risks associated with such failures, I believe this matter needs urgent attention. Additionally, I had my little one in the car and am deeply concerned that we could have potentially been involved in an accident related to the malfunction. I’m reading that others have experienced the same issues

Oct 2023 LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION I accidently backed into a tree when my parking warning system and blind spot warning system didn't work. Damage to my vehicle was to the right rear quarter panel, bumper, tailgate and tail light. It was only after the accident occurred, that I found out that Jeep had a recall for the rearview camera visibility system. I feel that Jeep should be responsible for the repairs. My insurance company advised me to file a complaint with you and also with Jeep before they become involved. Please advise me as to what steps I should take. Oct 2023 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE On 10/07/2023, about 7:30 pm, I was driving down 6th Street in Beaumont California at about 30 mph speed when all of a sudden the engine made a horrible loud noise and it looked like the accelerator pedal was suddenly hit. It seemed that the vehicle speed did not increase accordingly, but my foot had released the gas pedal already. Once I confirmed that the noise was indeed coming from my car, I pulled over and turned off the engine while the loud noise was continuing. Then I restarted the car and the problem didn't reoccur this time. Then, the car has performed normally.

Oct 2023 STEERING While backing out of garage as I routinely do each morning, my gauge panel indicated a "Service Steering System" light as well as the check engine light. I lost all power steering. I unhooked battery, and reconnected. Power steering was now available, but the check engine light remains on. I took car to dealership where it has set for 8 days. I have been told they are waiting on part #68628263-AA, a rack & pinion. I was not offered a loaner vehicle or an explanation other than that they are waiting on a part. I was told to just "take the car home and drive it if I knew how to reset the battery to get power steering to work". This seems very unsafe.
