| May 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Driving down a highway in a 70 mph zone, my car’s automatic braking system engaged causing my car to slam on brakes. There were no cars in front of me any of the times this happened. This has happened 5 times in the last two weeks. 3/5 of the times, there were cars/trucks in the right lane next to me. 2/5 of the times, there were trucks two lanes over. The first time this happened, the car behind me had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. This has happened about 10 times since I have owned the car. However the incidents have happened more frequently in the last few weeks. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Apr 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VISIBILITY/WIPER | My vehicle has in cold weather no ability to clear and defrost the interior cabin of the vehicle As described in the recent recall, issued by JEEP, my Vin number was not included as part of This problem is obviously related, and the condition described in your campaign number is an exact match for the condition I experience during the winter months. While driving in Boston in heavy traffic, my vehicle fogged to the point where I couldn’t see where I could pull over or if I could pull over or the vehicle in front of me fogged to the point of visibility and every window I had to put my hazard lights on and stop in the middle of traffic. I reported this to JEEP directly, they attributed it to a design defect? The most recent Recall issued by JEEP left my Vin number out. With respect to the issue with the headlights Activating in auto mode. My vehicle does not have high beam headlights. When the high beams are activated There’s absolutely zero change in lighting conditions and the fog lights stay engaged. Stellaris failed once again to identify all the applicable VIN numbers. What else are they failing to include as there have been four major safety recalls with my make model and year jeep that did not include my Vin number which is disconcerting to say the least. Especially given the most recent airbag recall In the possible lack of activation. In my opinion, they are limiting this recall by guessing what production dates apply and are ignoring the vehicles that were produced immediately after or during the pandemic, which had items such as rear differential swapped out to a mechanical differential because they didn’t have the stock electronic diff in stock at the factory when the vehicle was built. A reasonable and prudent person would assume that major issues such as these would’ve been missed or overlooked when there were parts shortages as result of the pandemic and supply chain issues and not when things returned to “normal”. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Apr 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The problem happens intermittently and not all the time. I will be driving on the highway or in the city and sometimes when I barely touch the gas pedal my car will accelerate at high speeds, and the RPM gauge will go all the way into the seven mark and it Turns red and it starts beeping and the only way to get that off is for me to let off the gas pedal and come to a stop and then shift it from drive to park and then that’ll usually fix the problem. And other times when I’m on the highway. I will barely touch the gas pedal and it’ll accelerate at high speeds and I’ll have to go from the gas pedal to having to slam my brakes on to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. A friend of mine who had driven my vehicle, called me and asked me if I noticed that it was doing that as well and I explained to her that I I was aware. I have not taken it to the dealership yet for that problem yet however, I do have an appointment made. I’m just waiting on them to find me a loaner vehicle that will seat my six person family because I cannot drive a different vehicle that does not fit my whole family . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | On 03/24/2023 at 1:30pm I was driving to work on the local streets when multiple warning lights came up on the dashboard.I immediately pulled over on the side of the road to see what was the problem.I decided to look under the hood and noticed the coolant reservoir was empty.I continued checking the engine compartment and noticed one of the hose that leads to the radiator had become disconnected. This was a dangerous situation because if I was on the highway,I probably would not have been able to pull over immediately and the vehicle might have shut down on the highway which could’ve resulted in an accident.I contacted my local Jeep dealer on 03/25/2024 and explained to them what happened. The earliest appointment I was given to have the vehicle inspected was 03/28/2023. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2024 | STEERING | This vehicle was sold to us with this issue. The dealer knew that this problem existed. We took the vehicle in for service when a warning light about the steering came on a few weeks ago. The dealer said that there was not a problem with the steering other than a wire that had been chewed by a rodent for which the dealer charged $650 to fix. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE | The passenger side front and rear floor are getting wet when it rain or when is taking to car wash and the fuse box and battery compartment under the passenger seat is full of water electrical component can fail car was taken for repair in January 2024 and will be in the shop [XXX] again with same issue. | Feb 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD Overland, If the NHTSA would do a web search this issue is a common issue that many people are complaining and concerned about. The forward collision warning with automatic braking is NOT functioning or has been turned down where it is completely ineffective or is not functioning at all. I have had my vehicle in two different Jeep dealerships and have been told that the system is functioning and not showing any error codes. I have an active case working under Jeep (Case # [XXX]) and my vehicle was inspected by a Jeep representative on [XXX], who also claims that the system is working. I have driven several different makes of vehicles with a Collision Avoidance System and have seen and experienced when this system functions properly, I am a Police Officer and currently drive a 2021 Chevy Tahoe with this system and have had many alerts in the two years I have driven this vehicle. I have approximately 12,500 miles on this Jeep and have NOT had one alert with this amount of mileage, I have has a couple close calls where I have had to take evasive action and heavy braking to avoid a collision and not even had a warning of any kind. There are to many people complaining of this same issue and many of the same people are quoting the same company verbiage and quotes from the jeep service departments saying that the system is functioning correctly, and there is no way to test the system. Please look into this issue and research just how many people are complaining of this issue, if your going to advertise and promote a safety system on vehicles you should have an expectation that the system actually works. Any safety system that is not functioning properly puts people in danger when the said system would prevent or minimize damage in a collision situation. | Feb 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | When starting and stopping the engine an awful noise is heard, it sounds like metal is grinding for about 2 seconds. Also on one occasion the electrical system seems to go haywire, as my power lift gate would not work. I tried several things to include turning the vehicle on and off, pressing the lift gate button several times, pressing my clicker, and pressing the lift gate button in the cabin area of the vehicle, to no avail. I finally had to pull the lift gate down, while this was occuring the inside the vehicle on the lift gate lights would turn on and off it was the strangest thing. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Screen froze while driving and prevented back up camera from working. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times for this issue and they stated they can not duplicate it so no action was taken. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | I was driving on a major interstate and my car suddenly stopped shifting the gears to allow for faster speed. RPM's were going up to 6 and 7 and the fastest I could go was 30mph. I confirmed my vehicle was only in Drive, and was not in a "sport mode that allows for manua shifting". Was able to safely get off the interstate and pull over, This could have caused a accident. Shut down vehicle and restarted and then performed correctly. Called dealership and they stated they wouldn't be able to get me in for 3 weeks and if the vehicle is now not doing it and issue can not be duplicated there wouldn't be anything they can do. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Wind shield fluid is not dispensing onto windshield, wipers operated but no fluid dispensed. With salt on roads visibility out the wind shield became nearly zero. There were no symptoms of an issue before it happened, no warning lamps or messages. Fluid would dispense to rear window meaning system is operational and there is fluid in the tank. Windshield washer fluid tube runs under the insulation on hood of car, found the tube has become disconnected from T-joint under the hood and fluid was running into engine compartment and not on wind shield. Defect happened at ~20,000 miles on car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve. I acquired it in February of last year. I feel my vehicle is not performing according to specifications. I’ve taken it in for service numerous times. The sales manager test drove it with my husband and acknowledged there is something causing it to vibrate at certain speeds. The service manager test drove it with my husband and also acknowledged there is something causing it to vibrate at certain speeds. Jeep agreed to have a technician look at it and we asked if we could be present to drive it with the tech and were told yes. The Jeep technician was dispatched, in the middle of the night, to test drive it and reported there was nothing wrong with it and my case was closed. We were not even given the chance to drive with the tech or discuss the situation. I also experience what I call “lag braking”. I will press the brake pedal and it feels like it’s going to come to a stop and then just before you stop it gives way and I have to press it harder, really put my foot into it. This doesn’t happen all the time just randomly. Additionally, the passenger side folding mirror has been damaged since day one. They say they have replaced it 2 or 3 times and it still rubs the plastic so there are marks on the mirror arm when it is closed. I was told there is nothing they can do about it..... I have had two other Jeep Grand Cherokees with retractable mirror and neither one of them had that happen, ever. I’ve been on several Jeep forums and have read numerous posts about the same or similar incidents. I’m wondering if someone from NHTSA would be willing to drive it and report back to Jeep and to the public about their findings. It’s a shame that I’m driving one of their top of the line SUVs that makes me nauseous and dizzy when I drive it. Thanks in advance for your support. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | SUSPENSION | Jeep tells me I need to leave my car for several days to repair the recall. However, they refuse to provide me with a loaner vehicle, and I need a vehicle to survive. I have work and family commitments. This is harming me as the consumer when the recalled item is the responsibility of Jeep. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | POWER TRAIN | When the transmission warms up to operating temp, the first gear shift is extremely rough from a stop. It is most noticeable when accelerating on a highway. It is even worse when utilizing Sport mode. The best way to describe it, is a jerking motion or the transmission failing to shift in time. This is an everyday occurrence and not a random one. My concern is the transmission will fail in the middle of driving on a busy highway. The car has been to the dealer and according to them, this is “normal operation”. It has not been inspected by anyone other than a dealer and no warning lamps are on. This has been an ongoing issue since the date of purchase. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY/WIPER | The vehicles climate control/hvac system has inadequate ventilation that prevents air movement to occur. In cold tempatures all all of the vehicles windows fog and ice over form the inside. This results in the driver loosing visibility out of any window. During cold weather conditions, the rear passengers, windows, and rear wind window, even with defrost drawn ice up immediately along with the double moon roof. Problem limits, visibility, making the vehicle, unsafe to drive due to the limited visibility caused by this inadequate and design deficiency. There are no heating system vents besides in the front dash of the vehicle due to the moonroof. The rear climate controls do nothing to remedy of the issue . When I reported the issue to JEEP corporate immediately after purchase, they acknowledged the design deficiency, and that they were working corrected for future models. This is unacceptable and creates a hazardous driver condition for any vehicle. Had I know this prior to purchase I would have never bought the vehicle as there is no remedy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2023 Grand Cherokee Limited. The contact stated that while driving with her daughter, at approximately 2 MPH in a parking lot, the sun visor was pulled down and as she glanced in the mirror unaware of the surroundings, the vehicle crashed into a pole. No damage to the pole. The contact sustained chest injuries, and the contact's daughter, in the passenger seat sustained a leg injury. Both required medical attention. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Alert did not detect the object in front of the vehicle as intended. On another occasion, while driving at 50 MPH, the feature did not detect a vehicle that suddenly stopped in front of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 2 Medical attention | 20,000 |
