This is a major concern as i almost backed up over my child at night as i could not see them in the camera. Please address with manufacture to resolve the issue. | Jan 2024 | STEERING | We drove our Truck from Hartwell Georgia to Coloma Wisconsin on [XXX]. En route we drove through heavy rain. We got to Coloma on [XXX]. The truck sat outside overnight in cold weather. Temps were in the low 20's to high teens. On [XXX] I went out to drive the truck to town on errands. After starting it the steering would not move. Had the truck towed to Wheelers Chevrolet of Coloma. Weather had warmed up and the steering was working. The dealer kept the truck and let it sit outside overnight. The next morning they started it and the steering would not move. The brought the truck into the heated garage and after a hour or so the steering worked. They decided to keep it inside and dry it out. It sat in a heated garage till noon on the [XXX] at which time I took the truck to my wife's brother house and put it in a heated garage till we left on the morning of the [XXX] to head back home. Temps all day were below zero. We pulled off the road after about two hours and the steering began to bind up. Rotating the wheel got it loosened up and we elected to continue. About 15 minutes later on [XXX] at highway speed the steering began to lock up. I managed to get it to the side of the road. . Again rotating the wheel side to side for about 5 minutes got it to free up. We continued and made it home. Clearly there is water somewhere in the steering. Pretty scary having locked steering at speed. No problems in warm weather. I will be going to my GMC dealer today. Richard Kay superstore in Anderson SC. The button is extremely easy to accidentally activate and will activate at any time including when in gear. This creates a significant safety risk as the tailgate can accidentally open while driving at high speeds and cause any load or objects in the bed to fall out and become dangerous projectiles and/or significant roadway hazards. In addition there is no warning message to indicate that the tailgate has opened, creating further safety concerns that the vehicle operator would not realize that the tailgate has opened until they start to lose the contents of the bed. | Aug 2023 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Driving home in the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, when the error message came up to Service Power Steering. A short time later also had messages for ESC, Restraint System, and Trail Brakes error messages. Then lost all electric power assist on the power steering, and truck almost impossible to turn without extreme effort. Took to dealer and they had truck for almost 2 weeks and said they couldn't replicate the problem. Within 24 hours of getting it back I had the exact same problem, with total loss of power steering assist. Parked truck for approx an hour, and it reset and was functioning normally again. Short time later got the Service Power Steering message again, but didn't lose power steering this time before the computer evidently reset. Major safety issue because if this happens while taking a turn or something at high speeds, I'll be in a ditch or lose control into another lane. | Aug 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | --Unwanted Reduction in The Front HVAC Blower Speed and Loss of Radio, Auto AC not working as designed --driver seat vibrating as the lane departure warning activated; I had turned the seat vibrate function off on 25 June 2023. I then went into settings to turn the function off again, and the system would not allow to make the change, it stayed in vibrate function --the passenger front window will not go up automatically, had to hold the button to make the window go up all the way. I then had a message in the DIC, that said, “Open and close passenger door”. I did so, at the next stop, but the message stayed on the DIC and the window still would not go up automatically with the button -- when the vehicle is operated and the AC is NOT on, just the fan, and windows down, and the auto temp set at 68 degrees, when at idle, there is an obvious increase in very hot air coming from the vents and stays that way until the vehicle is back in motion. Then it seems to adjust back toward normal outside air. During all this operation the recirculation is open to outside air --auto rain sensing windshield wipers; stops at full arc and hesitates during operation --driver side review mirror does not go back to preset 1 position, when put in reverse, both mirrors tilt lower, as I have set, but when put back into drive, the driver mirror does not fully recover until I push the 1 setting --DIC message of key not in vehicle, even when the key is in vehicle and vehicle is in motion, the DIC message stays on screen saying key not in vehicle --with AC in ON position, cold air stops and very warm/hot air starts coming out for about 30-60 seconds, then cold air starts coming out again, happens during driving and stopped, at any speed --Truck WIFI does not connect automatically SOFTWARE NOT UPDATED FROM GM- OTHER SAFETY ITEMS ARE AFFECTED --Auto headlights --Auto brakes --Auto wipers --Auto systems not working as designed | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

I had to buy my truck off the dealers lot because I had an accident with my previous truck. I tow a 34' long 8' wide travel trailer and feel it is a safety hazard not having towing mirrors to safely see, drive and maneuver my travel trailer driving. I don't buy any excuses that they're not available due to shortages.
