| Jul 2023 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | The contact owns a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night on an undulating roadway, the contact noticed that due to the narrow vertical area of illumination of the head lights, front visibility was severely reduced, with the lowest portion of the area in front of the vehicle receiving little to no illumination. The contact stated that the failure was not present while driving on a flat roadway. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 1,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 1,000 |
| Jul 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Sunroof glass shattered. This is the first summer for the truck. Travelling at ~75MPH the sunroof glass shattered. Neither driver nor passenger saw any objects in the air. I was not travelling under an overpass. Over the last 2 months I have been awaiting repair I have tried various methods to cover the sunroof and all have failed. Some easily pop off. Others hold better, but when travelling at higher speeds (>50MPH), the covering will bulge outward presumably from the pressure difference from outside to inside the cabin. My guess at root cause is a combination of pressure on the glass created by airflow over the truck at highway speeds, ~85degF air temperature, full sun load, and possibly stress of the roof (which is black). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | STRUCTURE | In past three weeks, the tailgate just drops down for no reason at all. Sometimes going down the highway, other times while I am parking vehicle the Tailgate Lowers itself automatically.????Is their a recall out for this, if not should be as you can lose portions of a load in the bed, right out in highway in traffic.....What action if any should I take at this point. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Bose radio randomly goes to maximum volume and you cant turn if off. This has happened twice and nearly cause wrecks each time trying to get out of traffic to turn the vehicle off. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Battery - Total discharge of the battery. 2023 GMC Sierra Denali purchased in Jan 2023. In July 2023, vehicle with 3800 miles door would not open, engine turn on, etc with electrical system completely inoperable. Upon checking the battery, it had 0% charge. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I sent my vehicle to the dealer, Brandywine GMC dealer in Bradywine MD. To have my fluids topped off upon receipt of my truck the next day my truck broke down. I sent my truck back to the dealer where they said Def was placed into the diesel tank by me, which was a lie. I filed an insurance claim because the dealer accused me of putting Def into my diesel tank. The insurance company paid to have everything fixed, however shortly after receiving my car I was traveling the interstate and my speed was cut back to 15 miles per hour per the trucks computer, which almost caused my vehicle to be rear ended. I took the truck to Alexandria va GMC because the codes were telling me that the injection system default , which Brandywine was supposed to have fixed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | The contact owns a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated to approximately 30 MPH and went into LIMP Mode. The check engine warning light, the service power steering warning light, the service transmission warning light, the low tire pressure warning light, and the traction control warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that a message was displayed on the instrument panel to “Service 4-WD and “Reduce Acceleration - Drive with Care. The contact stated that the climate control system increased to 76 degrees. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it produced codes: P00FF, P1789, P25A2, U0073, U0402, U0418, U1610, U1643; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 5,000 |
| Mar 2023 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The fuel in the tank is splashing around and makes bump sound when you come to a stop and is worse when the fuel take is full and goes away the lower the tank gets. GMC has a service bulletin out PIT5161J stating this is a normal condition. This is not normal, I have never had any vehicle I have owned have a fuel tank noise let alone have felt a bump that you can feel in the seat. There is obviously something manufactured wrong and needs to be addressed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | ENGINE | At just 600 miles, the 2023 GMC Sierra 3.0 Duramax gave out a check engine light. The code reader displayed a P0402. The truck had a very strong fume odor. The truck was taken to service two times. GM engineering made tests on the truck and concluded that the truck needs to be reprogrammed. I have a case number established with GM (case number 9-9217617941). If the program is bad, why release the product to the public? See attached invoice for details. This issue is present on almost all LZ0 GMC trucks based on people I've met in forums. Please help us. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEAT BELTS,LANE DEPARTURE | The infotainment system loses all audio through the speakers intermittently. when this happens I also lose the Safety warning chimes as well. shutting off the vehicle for an extended period of time resets something and it resumes normal function. I have contacted GM customer service and spoke to 3 different representatives and requested an escalation to a Senior Advisor, which i was told could take up to 4 days to hear back. the vehicle has 800 miles and is 1 month old, this has occurred 4 times. it has not been looked at by the manufacturer as i am waiting for return communication. Other than no sound, everything else on the touch screen seemed to be working normal, but im no technician to determine that. i feel this is a safety concern as i travel with my 13 month old daily. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
