| Nov 2024 | SEAT BELTS | The rear passenger side seat belt has been defective for the last 12+ months. It first started with it not registering a person was occupying the seat and would not signal that a seat belt needed to be fastened, such as the other side when both are occupied simultaneously. For the last 6+ months the latch where the seat belt buckles would latch inconsistent. As of yesterday, the seat belt buckle fails to latch completely, rendering it useless and requiring repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

But when the broke latch is replaced, it will cost +$80 per latch that is replaced. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | LANE DEPARTURE | Tesla’s “Autosteer” function inexplicably and suddenly shifted lanes and sideswiped the other car that was passing me on the right. This defect of the “autosteer” function took control of the steering of the car, even with my two hands on the wheel. I do not know why the Tesla suddenly shifted in the intersection or, more importantly, why it did not detect the other car. I did see the other car approaching before the Tesla swerved into it. I wanted to remain in the left lane because it was the correct and safest thing to do. There were no obstacles ahead of me, and the left lane continued normally. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES,LANE DEPARTURE | Hello, My name is [XXX] and I had the 2022 Tesla Model Y performance. I had an accident on [XXX]. Car just took control itself, we hit the tree. It was in a residential area, it happened so fast that I could not react to prevent it. After we hit the tree, the car caught fire, It was a nightmare for me, I had my best friend with me at the time of the accident in the front passenger seat. Both of us were unconscious, by the time I got awake, the car was in flames, my friend was still unconscious but then he got awake after I tried with the local neighbor to pull him out from the car. Unfortunately my friend passed away after an accident in 5 hours. I had autosteer assistance on my car as a subscription. Plus my car had a problem with the side cameras, from time to time it was giving me errors - Door Pillar error message. Cops were trying to get information from the car, but according to Tesla representative my car was out of network from June 30, 2022. And I never got any notifications that my car is out of network. I have a case against me VS State of New Jersey, the prosecutor's office charged me with vehicle manslaughter, at the time of accident i gave a statement to the police officer, in December 12, 2023 it was Nationwide recall on Tesla cars, and this recall it was exactly for the same problem what I described to the police officer at the time of accident, so my problem is, I can't retrieve any information from Tesla regarding what happened at the time of accident, DUE TO TESLA had my car out of network for 25 days prior. I can't prove my innocence because of that I'm facing serious charges right now. My complain is about my car being out of TESLA NETWORK FOR 25 DAYS, WITHOUT PROPER NOTIFICATION ON THE APP OR EMAIL, WHILE MY CAR WAS OPERATED EVERYDAY ON THE DAILY BASIS. | Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On Friday 10/11 at 10:45 a.m I was in traffic on Day Street in Moreno Valley, California. This was the third time I experienced a sudden unintended acceleration with my Tesla. I would have hit the car in front of me, but I was able to swerve into an island on my left to avoid the car. The car went over the curve and stopped. I am unsure what happened but after my prior experiences, I knew how to react. Had I not reacted swiftly, I would have hit the car in front of me. There were no warning messages. I have an appointment with Tesla on Wed 10/26. When this happened the first time, they claimed there was nothing wrong with the car, but I think they are not looking hard enough. I am aware of a voltage problem that other Tesla owners have experienced that can lead to sudden unintended acceleration. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2024 | SUSPENSION | My vehicle started wearing the tire on the left front so I contacted Tesla set an appointment up to have the suspension inspected. They advised they would not cover suspension because it’s a wear item and required me to pay for a suspension alignment which they did and I question the print out on the alignment showing the left front was not in factory specifications, they said it’s within their parameters and they can’t adjust it so I drove the vehicle and came back to have them put new tires on because of the worn inside edge again I question the suspension they said parameters of not affecting the vehicle even though based on specs of the alignment sheet was not meeting The numbers specified by the system again would not do anything to dress. It said it’s not adjustable and it will not affect my tires. I drove the vehicle. Had to replace a new set of tires a year later for the same issue requested them to fix the alignment and they provided me a receipt showing that the suspension is not adjustable so there is an issue with the suspension which causes the tire wear out which can cause it to blow out if I continue to drive it without constantly buying tires . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,VISIBILITY/WIPER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Multiple, random occurrences of hard braking at highway speeds when there was no object or obstruction ahead. In the 2-1/2 years we’ve owned the car this has happened on two lane and multiple lane highways, generally at speeds over 50 mph. Also, the windshield wipers randomly deploy even when turned completely off. They generally work when it’s raining but the delay function is also randomly not in sync with the settings or actual rainfall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | WHEELS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I have only driven my car for 10k miles in past 2 years. I have been on 3 long trips only. Every trip has become scary because one or the other tire turns flat right on busy highways with my little kids in it. I have had one replacement and two repairs on the only long trips I made. No other car I have have had any flat tires till date on the same routes in past 10 years. Tesla vehicles are heavy and they make tires prone to this posing a safety hazard. Tesla should either publicly announce this or give some solution since if known no one would want to take this vehicle with this kind of risk. I have asked tesla technicians and it seems it does not matter what company's tire it is. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On [XXX], traveling westbound from [XXX] on [XXX] using adaptive cruise control. Pick-up truck rapidly pulled up behind and cruise control shut off, stated "unavailable" and Tesla started to brake...manually overrode. Travelled another 1/4 mile and reengaged cruise control after pulling away from following pickup. Pickup caught up and cruise control shut off again. At 4-way stop on [XXX] , rechecked system and then headed for [XXX] on adaptive cruise control. Pickup came up again and cruise control shut off. At next intersection I turned right and pickup turned left...had "electronics" sign on side of truck. Not able to get full name. Question: Is there electronic systems "out there" that can take control of Tesla adaptive cruise controls? I tried to pass this on to Tesla, but wouldn't or couldn't take the above message. | Sep 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I engaged Tesla autopilot (FSD) as I left my house to pick up my son. The car started accelerating and swerved sharp left and ran over one of our neighbors' front yard leaving damages to their yard as well as my car. All 4 tires and wheels are damaged as it ran over the concrete curve and the front bumper of the car is damaged. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Charge port didn't allow to latch the charge cable. So the car lost the ability to be charged. This failure first time happened in December 2023. A mobile service technician visited my home to look into it. He checked and was able to restore the working of latch again. He didn't replace any part. This problem again happened on a very hot day (above 43 degree C) on 4th July when me and my family were away from home and were routed to a fast charger which was more than 70 miles from my home. The battery at that time was showing only 35 miles range left. I was forced to drop my car in nearest service center which was closed due to 4th July. Me and my Family were stranded on the road in harsh temperature conditions. Some how I reached back home by alternate means. It took more than 5 days Service center touched the car and fixed the car. Per there report they replaced the charge port on my car. The problem happened again on July 29 but got resolved on its own. I visited Service center again on 15 August and was give a detailed form to fill up next time the problem happens. I was told that they will do some further diagnosis but they didn't even touched the car as the problem was not showing at that time. I have strong feeling that this problem can happen again and may leave me again stranded on road without any support. I have lost confidence to drive this car for longer distance where I may need to charge on the way. The issue happens without any warning and will show up right at the time when I have to charge it. I feel that this issue may leave me in a unsafe situation if I am at a remote place where the car looses the ability to be charged. I am not sure if this is the right forum to bring up this issue. Please feel free to direct me if this is not the right forum. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | SUSPENSION | Our cars suspension was replaced under warranty in October 2023 and by Aug 2024 it had failed again. Our tires have been ruined prematurely for the second time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES | The contact owns a 2022 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated while driving 20-25 MPH, the hood unexpectedly opened, struck the windshield, and obstructed the visibility of the road. The contact was able to pull into a parking lot. The contact stated that while attempting to close the hood, he noticed that the hood struts were completely damaged. The contact removed the struts and closed the hood manually. The vehicle was taken to a Tesla Service Center, where the contact was informed that the vehicle data recorder was missing information on the failure. The Tesla Service Center replaced the windshield at the owner expense. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V554000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages, Electrical System); which the contact related to the failure. The Tesla Service Center informed the contact that the hood repair could not be covered under the recall because the failure could be related to an aftermarket accessory that the contact had installed on the hood. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 28,000 |
| Aug 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | On [XXX] we charged enough more than 80% limit to travel towards Knoxville . The vehicle indicated we have enough charge to reach Knoxville supercharger. Kindly note our vehicle has set like that it can’t go more than 80mph. While we’re closer to severville, the vehicle still indicated that I need to drive to Knoxville but indicated battery percentage will be -2% means we will not be able to drive safely and reach Knoxville supercharge as family and might be stranded in middle of night somewhere without any help and safety compromised. This is series issue in vehicle diagnostic and projection while driving it and trusting to take us to right place with proper guidance to supercharger availability. It created a great panic to our family in middle of night. This has to be investigated for misguiding the customers about mileage model-y can go and it’s capability to project supercharger availability to safely drive with family. We panicked and found out supercharger [XXX] in [XXX] in Sevierville that model-y will NOT route or guide us to get charged. This caused reliability and approvals to let such vehicle to be sold which can put everyone at risk. What if we didn’t find our self the charger and vehicle suddenly stopped in middle of traffic that could have caused accident or rear-ending. It’s serious safety issue that vehicle is not evaluating and projecting right information to travel on Road. I have taken pictures while this happened and can attach them. Also we all can witness evidence on this whole safety problem we experienced. Reporting this to ensure no other citizen should be put thru such safety issue on a vehicle that runs in American soil. | Aug 2024 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The front triple camera glass was found to be dirty on the interior part of the glass. I had alerts of camera blocked/blinded and also I had several instances of emergency corrective maneuvers including braking, lane assists and forward collision warnings. Tesla cleaned the interior of part of the glass. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Tesla's autopilot/Full Self Drive feature is reading Minimum Speed Limit signs as the speed limit and slowing to 40 mph on 70 mph highways. This is happening to many Tesla owners who are talking about it on social media platforms like Reddit. The cameras usually read speed limit signs and either slows or accelerates to match the posted speed limit. With the most recent software update it's now reading Minimum Speed Limit signs and sometimes random highway signs, such as GA 25, and slows to 25 mph. It was dangerous for me specifically when I was passing a slow-moving big rig this past weekend. As I passed the truck doing roughly 75 mph the car saw a minimum speed limit sign and immediately slowed to 40 just as I was getting back into the right lane. That's downright dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS | Front passenger safety restraint system fault service is required error. this just appeared on my screen when my wife sat in the passenger seat. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Here is what happened. I was traveling on a narrow winding two-lane road at night when, desiring to see the information on the current drive, I reached down to the lower left corner of the touchscreen to change the small sub-panel located there. It was on the music panel so I swiped to the left to change to the trip information panel. As soon as I swiped to the left my lights went out and I'm driving in total darkness! In complete fear of running off the road I managed to stop and switch on the 4-way flashers. Someone that had been following me went on around about the time I got the flashes on. Fortunately, I had stopped still on the road and pretty much on my side. (It could have been much worse!) Quite scared and flustered I managed to get the lights switched back on. I don't remember, but I must have used the normal lighting control buttons on the main touchscreen panel. For a while I had no idea how it happened but eventually figured it out. Whenever you change your lights with the turn-signal stalk (go to dim, to bright or flash them) a small sub-panel pops up in the lower left corner of the touchscreen with all the light control buttons. It stays for about 4 seconds and goes away automatically. So, if you reach down to start or pause the music a few seconds after dimming you lights, your headlights go OFF - the OFF button falls where the Play/Pause button was located a few seconds before. But its much worse than that. You can also simply swipe to the left (what I had done) and the row of lighting buttons act like a slider! The lights can go from AUTO to OFF without warning, no confirmation needed! Answers to the five questions follow. - This problem certainly appears to be a design flaw in the touchscreen user interface so can be reproduced and inspected. - We could have crashed or been hit by other vehicles resulting in injury or death. - No - No - No warning whatsoever. Please don't write this off as "operator error". That would be irresponsible. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
