| Oct 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Hello. While driving on the highway at 65MPH and decelerating down to 35MPH ,about to take a single-lane, curved, and elevated exit, the vehicle dashboard emitted a ping and engine turned off. The dashboard showed a message indicating to press the brake and push the ON/OFF button to start the vehicle (as it normally does when it is off). The ON/OFF button showed the RUN signal as if the engine was still on. 2 seconds later the ENGINE light turned on. It was followed by several messages in the dashboard including ESC system offline. Then the battery signal, as well as many others, turned on. After coming to a complete stop the vehicle engage the park brake on its own. When pressing the brake and pushing the start button the first time, the ignition engaged and stayed engaged for ~5-7 seconds without actually starting the engine. On the second try, after the ignition disengaged and the start button actually showed the OFF position, the vehicle started as normal. The engine light stayed on but no other noticeable effects were perceived. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it two times the engine light stayed off. The incident was not reproduced over the 24-hour period after its onset. As mentioned before, this happened on the highway and the vehicle was coasted on a single lane feeder until a relatively safe spot was located to stop. However, the safety of the pilot and others was at stake as the pass was very narrow. Fortunately, the driver did not had the need to step out of the vehicle and, after restarting it, managed to drive it to safety. This happened 24 hours ago. No vehicle inspection has been performed yet. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | TIRES | The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500 equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Dueler Alenza H/L, Tire Size: 275/55/R20, DOT Number: 7XY1DH82922. The contact stated that while inspecting the tires, he noticed that the front and rear driver's side tires sidewalls were dry rotted. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tires were the original tires. The tires were not replaced. The tire and vehicle failure mileage were approximately 15,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 15,000 |
| Oct 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | On three separate occasions (so far), our 2022 RAM 1500, with 23,768 miles on it, has stalled, and completely shut down all driving function while in forward motion. 1. While pulling out from the grocery store parking lot onto a main town road while trying to accelerate from 5-25mph. (May 2024) 2. After restarting the truck, and driving forward a couple feet, it happened again. (May 2024) 3. While driving 60mph down the parkway, and decelerating/downshifting to prepare to take the exit. (October 2024) All three times, there were absolutely no warning signs or lights that came on before, during, or after this happened. The engine remained running, but felt as though it was in neutral. The truck would not shift back into drive, regardless of us changing the gear shift, and had to be completely powered down, and powered back on.....in the middle of the road. In both May and October, the truck had been brought to the dealer, and they were not able to recreate the issue, nor were any codes or problems detected. Thus, we have had to leave the dealer, each time, in an unpredictable and unsafe vehicle. We are lucky that the incidents of this happening in April were at an intersection with stoplights, preventing traffic perpendicular to us, from T-boning us as we were stuck in the middle of the road. We were also lucky that the incident in October happened while there was nobody traveling close behind us. Any of these incidents could have caused a major accident. Not only would this involve us, but anyone else around us. This truck, I repeat, is UNPREDICTABLE and UNSAFE, and RAM can't seem to figure out what to do about it since there are no codes, or ability to recreate it. Each time we get in the truck, we gamble our safety and our lives because nothing has been done to resolve this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | STRUCTURE | The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the tailgate door would not properly latch and failed to remain secured while closed. While towing a trailer and driving approximately 65 MPH, the tailgate door erroneously opened. During the failure the tailgate door and the front end of the trailer were damaged. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions while driving. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V904000 (STRUCTURE). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 4,000 |
| Oct 2024 | AIR BAGS | Recently, the front right airbag impact sensor (part 68284052AA) went bad. So I went ahead and bought a new one (68606357AA) off of Faulkner Ram dealership out of Mechanicsburg, PA. But the new sensor did not work. The old sensor which is part 68284052AA was superseded by 68606357AA. But 68606357AA is not compatible with the ORC module in my truck. I tried 3 different new 68606357AA sensors. None of them worked. To make sure I didn't have a wiring issue, I swapped the right and left sensors. Then DTC said left sensor instead of right. Googling around, I found an online publication on NHTSA's website talking about the same issue, where a tech replaced both sensors but they were not recognized by the ORC. It also stated that the sensors had to be replaced with the same part number (68284052AA) as to originals (Just google "Case number S2408000050" and you will get the pdf). Given that the original part (68284052AA) was replaced by (68606357AA), and it's not available for purchase anywhere, What are your customers supposed to do? I have been driving the car without airbags and am unable to find the part to fix the issue. My safety and the safety of my family is in jeopardy and this issue is becoming a frustration. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | BACK OVER PREVENTION | The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse(R), the back-up camera image was flickering. The contact stated that at other times the back-up camera display was not showing any images. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, but eventually, the camera was no longer functional, and only displayed a blue screen. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the back-up camera wiring harness had short-circuited and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,933. | Crash: No Fire: No | 47,933 |
| Oct 2024 | AIR BAGS | On 20/14/2024 I was traveling down a highway at approximately 40 mph when a vehicle pulled out in front of me with virtually no warning. The front of my vehicle struck the driver's side of the other vehicle, causing significant damage to both; my vehicle was subsequently "totaled". My primary concern is the failure of the airbags to deploy; none did so. Airbag malfunction. I suffered multiple injuries by striking the steering wheel & dashboard. Unknown if problem reproduced. Unknown if inspected. No warning lamps or other indicators. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING | The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that there was condensation accumulating in the rear taillights. The contact stated that the vehicle recently experienced electrical failures with the power window switch not raising or lowering the windows as needed. The contact stated that the radio and several other electrical gauges were inoperable. The contact stated that the 115-Volt Cargo outlet warning light was blinking. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that water had accumulated through the taillight assemblies and caused a short circuit of the rear right BUS system. The contact stated that the dealer dried out the taillights and all the wiring harnesses were reinstalled with the rear taillight assemblies. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that there was condensation accumulating again in the taillights. The contact stated that the Blind Spot warning light had flashed and then turned off. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 44,000 |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) | The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. | Oct 2024 | ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC),SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the contact slammed on the brake pedal and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,100. | Crash: No Fire: No | 8,100 |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | My 2022 Ram sunvisor has a broken connection that caused it to come loose from the roof/ceiling and dangle in my line of sight while driving. This almost caused an accident for me as it startled me and I had to take my hands off the wheel to stop it from swinging by the electrical cord. It is a powered sunvisor with my garage door opener built in and that is the only reason it did not fall completely in my lap. I am hoping by reporting that other people may have had a similar issue and measures can be taken to stop this from happening to others. I went to the place where I purchased the vehicle and warranty to find out that this defect is not covered under warranty. For a vehicle that is only 2 calendar years old with 49,000 miles, this part should not fail. I am unable to add additional photos showing how far down in line of sight the visor falls. The website only uploads blanks. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | This report pertains to the lighting system of the vehicle, specifically the parking light mode of the lighting system. When stopped at a dark, unlight turn out, with the engine turned off, I turned the head light control switch from "automatic" to the parking light position to ensure visibility of the vehicle to other drivers approaching/entering the turn out. I confirmed via reflection that the lights had turned on. Later, when I exited the vehicle to retrieve belongings from the back, I noticed that the lights were no longer on. I switched the light control to the off position, and back to the parking light mode, which activated the lights. I noticed an indicator on the dash. However within a few minutes, the lights were again switched off by the vehicle, the only notification being the absence of an indicator light on that dash. This unexpected, automated behavior put myself and others at risk, by reducing the visibility of my vehicle to other drivers near (but not on) a dark highway. This specific issue has not been brought to the attention to service personnel, as it appears consistent with other non safety critical lighting behavior which has been reviewed and deemed functioning as designed. There are no error codes or other diagnostic indicators present related to this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The truck is not safe to drive | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ENGINE | I was driving my 2022 Ram 1500 today to an intersection where I stopped. As I started to accelerate through the intersection my truck lost power, shifted into park and the emergency brake was turned on. On the driver display I received a battery and voltage error which quickly appeared then disappeared. All of this happened without warning or obvious cause. Luckily no one else was at the intersection or the situation could have been more dire. It took me 3 to 4 times turning the truck on and off to be able to drive again. This is the first occurrence I experienced. Very unnerving having my vehicle shut off while driving and having the parking break applied. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | The sun visors are made cheaply and have broken off of both the driver side and passenger side. This makes driving towards the sun really dangerous and blinding. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | This problem has happened Two times in the last couple weeks when slowing down it Stalls engages the emergency break and puts itself in park very dangerous I almost got rear-ended the second time it happened and to restart the vehicle, I have to manually turn the electronic emergency brake off, then proceeded to the starting Process. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | My traction control light and ABS light keeps coming on and off(doesn't stay on long enough to produce a code. Dealership noticed light came on but can't do anything(still have warranty) and is not on the recall list for my 2022 Ram Laramine??? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | My truck has been stalling at low speed, automatically shifting into park, and the emergency brake is automatically engaged. This occurs at random times, but typically as I approach or depart a stop sign or community gate. It has happened with other vehicles in the vicinity. The dealership has changed out the MGU, but it happened again the next week, 3 times. The dealership states that they are not receiving assistance from Chrysler. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ENGINE | Exhaust manifold leak at less than 25,000 miles in a 2022 model year truck. This continues to be a problem with Ram, not offering extended warranty coverage and is affecting many vehicles with the 5.7 hemi engine, leaking to carbon monoxide risks, repair costs, increased emissions, etc. why Ram hasn’t been forced to address this preemptively especially since it can ruin the catalytic converter, release dangerous emissions, on top of the well known camshaft issues affecting numerous engines.. they’re getting away with manufacturing a defect product while nobody holds them accountable. While my repair is currently covered under warranty, I am without my vehicle until it is done. Others are even more unlucky paying out of pocket or in the case of most people nowadays, incurring an expense they can’t afford because of a defective design | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Both rear tail light assemblies shorted at the same time. This was confirmed by local Dodge dealer mechanic | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I was pulling forward from a stop sign entering the intersection when my truck abruptly stopped and threw me into the steering wheel. An alarm was dinging and lit warnings were flashing. One alert said to release the emergency brake, so I released the emergency and pressed on the accelerator and nothing happened. The engine was shut off and in park. I was in a panic and didn't take time to see what all the warnings were. I started the truck and drove a mile home. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | When placing truck in reverse, the backup camera displays a blue screen. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My truck is subject to a safety recall for the high pressure oil pump. Campaign 01A/23V-263. I took the truck in for the repair in December 2023. I was told that the parts were not available, and that the dealer would call me when the parts became available. No one contacted me, so I contacted Ram in March 2024. I was told that the parts still were not available, and that the dealer would call when the parts become available. As of today, August 23, 2024, I still have not been contacted and the repair has not been completed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | Shortly after beginning to drive, I approached a stop sign and the parking brake automatically engaged, and I could not drive. I had to shut the truck off, manually disengage the parking brake and then I was able to drive again. This has happened 4 or 5 times over the past couple of months. It's very dangerous and the dealers are telling me they can't do anything about it because they can't replicate the problem. This is extremely dangerous and is going to cause an accident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
