| Mar 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the Death Wobble while driving on two occasions. The contact also stated that the vehicle was difficult to start and would start after being jump-started. Additionally, the contact stated that there was an abnormal burning plastic odor coming from the clutch intermittently while driving and shifting into gear. The contact stated that while driving 40-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The message "Stop Safely - Vehicle will shut down in 30 Seconds" was displayed. The contact stated that while attempting to pull over to the side of the road, the vehicle hit the guard rail on the side of the road and bounced back, causing the rear end of the vehicle to land on the right lane of the highway while the front end was on the side of the road. The contact was able to push the entire vehicle to the side of the road with the assistance of other drivers. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and assisted the contact in towing the vehicle to a parking lot. The vehicle was jump-started; however, the failure recurred while the contact was driving the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the battery and the auxiliary fuse were replaced; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer then informed the contact that the vehicle had been repaired. The contact then inquired that the dealer perform the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); however, the dealer informed the contact that the part had been ordered and would be available in two months. The dealer advised the contact that she would have to pay out of pocket for a new battery due to the tire not being original equipment. | Mar 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4xe vehicle is unsafe, and I fear driving it could cause death or serious bodily injury. The vehicle turns off intermittently and displays "service electrical charging system." The 4xe recalls 95B/NHTSA 24V-720 and especially, recall ZB7/NHTSA 22V-865 have not been properly repaired and completely resolved. This is a serious and potentially dangerous defect. This Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe unexpectedly turns off while driving, it has turned off on me while driving on the freeway, regular streets and has left me stranded in dangerous predicaments. Starting the vehicle is also unpredictable, sometimes it starts and sometimes it does not. This is especially terrifying when it spontaneously shut off while driving. I no longer can safely operate this vehicle without placing myself, my family and others in peril, and as a result I have had to purchase a new vehicle. Vehicle engine shuts down condition caused by diagnostic reactions to faults caused by loss of communication. | Mar 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I brought my jeep in for the 95B recall this past December (12/17/24), it was fixed for about a week then problems with the electric system emerged and the vehicle would not run in electric mode. I also received messages saying that an oil change was required (despite having an oil change done in December), and that the battery needed to be charged for maintenance (despite the battery being fully charged the previous evening). I brought it back to dealer (2/3/25) to fix the issue. They said they fixed it and gave it back to me. A few days later the same problems reappeared so I brought it back on 2/22/25 and just received word that they cannot find a solution to the problems despite working with tech advisors from other dealerships and Stellantis. In short, I have had the same issues with the vehicle since about November, they have attempted to fix it 3 times and now are telling me that they do not have a fix for the problems. | Mar 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Greetings, About a year ago I started experiencing shaking while driving in the car usually when driving above 60 miles per hour. It felt like the wheels were shaking and wobble for few seconds but would stop. When I mentioned this to the dealership service rep, he said that this is normal and would go away. It did not and got progressively worse. It would shake for about a minute violently and almost cause an accident in the freeway where I almost lost control. I immediately took it to the dealership, and they ended up replacing the steering dampener. They actually replaced it twice since the one they changed with the first time was problematic as well. The rep at the time mentioned that he is astonished that there hasn't been a recall on this yet as they've received numerous calls. Well about few weeks ago, the car started doing the same thing again and this morning it was really bad again and my wife almost lost control. I am taking it back to the dealership next week to see what they can do but this appears to be a chronic problem. Did not help at all. Now they are saying we should try a Tru-Center Stabilizer, by looking on the web, they think that will fix it. Really don't want or think we should have to keep tossing parts and money into this, hoping it might fix it. Right now we are afraid to drive it on the interstate. Its starts to shake so bad when we switch lanes on the interstate, it almost makes you want to hit the brakes. Traveling on an interstate is not a safe place to hit the brakes to stop the wobble or a place to have a car go out of control. Jeep is a 2022 Wrangler unlimited with 44000 miles on it. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway, and the body of the vehicle was shaking and vibrating as if the body was going to be detached from the subframe. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure, the contact was concerned that the wheels were going to detach from the vehicle. The contact decelerated and the vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously experienced the failure, and the vehicle was diagnosed with steering damper failure, front and rear shocks, and struts, and an alignment needed to be performed. This complaint is in regards to the safety recall on my Jeep 4XE- Recall 95B/NHTSA 24V-720. I made an appointment for this recall and took it to Franklin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Franklin TN. They have had my Jeep for 2 days working on this recall. The letter I received said this would take 2 hours. The severe shaking would stop once I was on smoother pavement. This would happen sporadically. I had the tires balanced during the next service appointment. | Feb 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | We have 2 2022 Jeep vehicles with the EcoDiesel engines in them (a Gladiator and Wrangler) that we purchased in 2022. I am filing a case for each of them on this site. In April 2023 there was a recall of the fuel pump on the 3.0 EcoDiesel and to date the problem has not been rectified for either of my vehicles. We have made notification to the dealership that we want to get this done but they say they do not have the parts in stock to do it. The dealership said they only get 1 fuel pump a month to replace and we are waiting and have been waiting for about a year since we notified the dealership for this safety issue to be rectified. I am filing this complaint as directed by the NHTSA website because I feel this issue has not been handled in a timely fashion and I believe that it is irresponsible of Jeep to not rectify this in a much quicker fashion. | Feb 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | The engine lost power while driving and was almost T-boned the first time the issue happened. No warning lights were present before the loss of power. I was leaving a stop sign and crossing traffic did not have to stop. The posted speed limit for the cross street is 40 MPH. The dealership updated the software, and the Wrangler 4XE was returned the same day. Less than two weeks later, the loss of motive power occurred again. The dealership had the vehicle for almost 40 days and replaced the high-voltage battery pack. About 50 miles after the car was returned, the check engine light came on. I was almost home when this happened and had the 4XE towed for the third time. Texan Jeep claims they had engineers from Jeep look at the vehicle while it was in the shop for an extended period of time. These vehicles are not safe to be on the road! The safety of any other vehicle around a 4XE is at risk. They can shut down and go into limp mode without warning, with or without the recalls being complied with. | Feb 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Cranked up Jeep and had no warning lights. Pulled onto highway, Electronic Stability Control alarm sounded. Made it to stop light, stopped, Jeep did not cut off but showed an alarm where it would not move until it was put in park then back in drive. This happened 4 times then stopped. I turned off of the highway onto a different road, got up to speed (approx 60mph) the ESC warning came back on and went off. Jeep did not cut off but it jerked a few times then the RPMs shot up to around 9 without me pressing the gas. I was able to pull over, cut it off and sit for a min. then I cranked it back up and it ran fine for about 5 miles then going about 60mph it lunged forward with no speed increase, RPMs shot up again and a Transmission code came up on the dash screen. I pulled over, my husband came and we put it on a trailer and carried it home. Ran diagnostics and changed both the main and auxiliary battery and it was fine for about a month. I went to run errands about a month later, got in and all the electrical would come on but it would not crank and all the gears on the shifter showed in orange and blinked instead of orange and white like normal. The electrical would not cut off without unhooking both batteries. Tested batteries, auxiliary was completely dead. Replaced it, Jeep still would not crank and the electrical stayed on unless the batteries were disconnected. Trailered it to the dealership, they did multiple tests to find out it was the TCM. Around [XXX] I started smelling something burning so got up to check the house and then went to the garage to check our cars. On checking the Jeep I noticed that the inside of the cabin was filling with smoke. I immediately called 911 and as I was on the phone with them the Jeep spontaneously burst into flames on the inside. The Fire department arrived shortly after. They began flooding the jeep with water and had to drag it out of our car port. Once they had it away from the house the continued to flush it with water and also placed a fire retardant blanket over the top of it to contain the fire. It continued to burn for several more hours until a tow truck arrived to take it to a yard. The fire truck had to follow the Tow as the car was still smoldering as they loaded it. According to the fire marshals' initial assessment he believed the fire was started from the Jeeps Lithium Ion battery. * It is believed to be the Lithium Ion Battery. It has a recall and I had the recall scheduled for 1/9/2025 but it caught fire on [XXX]. The Jeep is with Progressive my insurance company and could possibly be inspected at request. * Luckily we caught it before it was fully engulfed. Jeep did emit noxious fumes while it was on fire and being put out. Our neighbor had to evacuate because of the fumes possibly entering her house. * It has been confirmed by Progressive and they have placed Jeep on notice. * It was inspected by the Ins Co. They are awaiting on the inspector from Jeep. * There were no warning or indications prior to this happening. | Feb 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While braking (in hybrid mode, with max regen braking on), the car begins to lurch forward with significant force as it comes to a stop. This seems to be an issue with max regen, as acceleration and braking is overall much smoother with the feature off. This has happened sometimes before, but is difficult to replicate on demand. No warning lights on dash, and has not been confirmed by a dealer. There were no warning lights or messages, and has happened since purchase of the vehicle in June 2022. This instance was so severe that the vehicle almost crashed into the house, as i was pulling into the driveway and braking. When driving at 65 mph and went over a bump on the roadway my vehicle’s steering and suspension began shaking violently and almost caused an accident. Anytime the vehicle was cranked up the throttle was elevated and stayed elevated till for 10 mins and you can not drive for 20 mins because the throttle would stick wide open and unable to lower . The exhaust has a backfire upon acceleration as well. The exhaust system is ran underneath the gas tank which I believe is a hazard . | Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving in the middle lane on I96 west when the dashboard lite up fully every light alerting me of every possible thing that needs attention known to man. This isn’t the first time this has happened but it is was the first time on the highway. I attempted to move the steering wheel which wasn’t working-I’m guessing the power steering wasn’t working, I slowly moved to the far right lane and managed to exit the freeway actually “‘manhandling” the steering wheel to make the vehicle turn in either direction. Needless to say I was beyond scared of what was gonna happen next. I made it to a grocery store parking lot and called for towing back to the dealer. This vehicle was just at the dealer the previous week for the dashboard lighting up in the same way but I didn’t drive it anywhere since I couldn’t turn the wheel that time either. The dealer told me it was a fluke and sent me on my way. This vehicle is two yrs old and has only been serviced by the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. After doing some research, I’ve read that other owners of Jeep wranglers have had similar problems going as far back as 2018! I can’t possibly be the only to report this issue. If I lost control of the vehicle due to power steering issues and sensor/computer failures what would happen to me? Would I be dead? Would I kill other people on the road? How would I ever be able to prove this is the vehicle and not me? This is an issue that needs to be looked at deeper. My vehicle is still at the dealership. It’s only two yrs old and has 40,000 miles. I need someone to look into this problem before something horrible happens to someone. | Jan 2025 | STEERING | I first encountered the “death wobble” at 18,000 miles. It happened to both me and my husband within a hundred miles of each incident. I took my car in for an oil change and talked to the technician and he said that he could try the fix that Jeep put forth to attempt to fix it, but it never really fixed the issue. Well, it was not that bad and happened infrequently and life moves on. Fast forward to about 30,000 miles, the last month and now the wobble happens any time I’m at speeds over 60 and hit a tiny bump in the road. Last night, it threw me into the lane next to me and if there had been a car there, it would have been terrible accident. I drove home at 50mph on the freeway! It was terrifying.
