Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Dec 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The vehicle has experienced recurring safety-related issues associated with the hybrid electrical and propulsion systems. During normal operation, warning messages related to the hybrid system appeared, and the vehicle entered reduced functionality or became unreliable to operate. These conditions created concern about potential loss of propulsion while driving. In addition to propulsion concerns, the vehicle was subject to manufacturer recalls related to the high-voltage battery system, including warnings regarding battery overheating and potential fire risk. Recall-related service was performed by an authorized dealer; however, safety concerns persisted after service was completed, and confidence in the safe operation of the vehicle was not restored. The ongoing nature of the electrical and hybrid system issues, combined with recall notices involving battery fire risk, created a safety concern for continued use of the vehicle, particularly due to the possibility of vehicle malfunction or battery-related hazards during normal operation or while parked. No crash or injury occurred, but the condition raised ongoing safety concerns. The issue has occurred more than once and was not permanently resolved despite dealer inspection and recall-related service.

Dec 2025 AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES I lease a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has developed serious and unresolved safety issues. While driving at highway speeds, typically between 70 and 75 mph, the vehicle has repeatedly lost power and begun to decelerate on its own without driver input. When this occurs, I am unable to maintain speed with traffic, creating a dangerous condition and placing myself, my passengers, and other motorists at risk. In addition to the loss of power, the vehicle regularly displays warnings related to critical systems, including electric mode being unavailable, fuel and oil refresh in progress, emergency/SOS system unavailable, hybrid power loss, and an airbag system warning. These warnings are documented and have appeared across multiple service visits. The vehicle has been taken to two different authorized Jeep dealerships and has spent nearly a month in service between them. Despite extended diagnostic efforts, neither dealership has been able to identify or repair the underlying issue. The problem remains unresolved. In addition, two active recalls continue to show as incomplete in the system and have not been successfully addressed. As of now, the vehicle is still at the dealership and is not available for use. Given the unresolved loss of power at highway speeds and the incomplete recalls, I do not consider the vehicle safe to operate. I have contacted both Jeep/Stellantis and Chrysler Capital in writing to request assistance and resolution. Despite providing documentation and allowing ample time for review, I have not received a response or acknowledgment. All repair attempts, warnings, recall status, and communications have been documented. I am seeking resolution because the vehicle remains unsafe, unreliable, and unavailable for normal use despite multiple repair opportunities and extensive time in service.

Dec 2025 BACK OVER PREVENTION The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced a brief intermittent display of the rearview camera image while reversing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the radio software update was performed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V436000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the vehicle needed to be retained for servicing. The vehicle remained at the dealer for 7 months. The dealer had replaced the two side cameras, the control module and had performed the software update with the assistance of a Jeep factory engineer; however, the failure persisted. The engineer determined that the camera wiring harness needed to be replaced; however, the part had been discontinued. The engineer determined that the wiring harness needed to be bypassed, and a patch cord needed to be installed. The dealer called the contact and informed the contact that the rearview camera was operating as intended after the installation of the cord patch. The contact declined the vehicle repair with a cord patch and inquired about buy-back assistance. The contact stated that the cord patch reduced the integrity of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

Dec 2025 STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a manufacturing or design defect involving the sunroof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. On or around December 1, 2025, I discovered a severe water leak originating from the sunroof area during normal rainfall. Water entered the vehicle interior without warning and caused substantial damage to the headliner, interior trim, and other interior components. The amount of water intrusion was significant and far beyond what would be expected from normal wear. The vehicle has only around 45,000 miles and is regularly maintained. The leak occurred without any visible damage to the sunroof glass and without prior indication of a problem. The sunroof was fully closed at the time. This suggests a defect related to the sunroof sealing system, drainage system, or overall design rather than misuse or external damage. This defect presents a serious safety concern. Water intrusion inside the vehicle creates the risk of: Electrical system damage or failure, Mold and health hazards, Impaired visibility due to water dripping near the windshield, Distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. In heavy rain conditions, this defect could reasonably occur while driving, creating a dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. As a result of this defect, my vehicle sustained significant interior damage, requiring repairs. I believe this issue reflects a broader defect in the sunroof design or drainage system rather than an isolated incident. I am concerned that other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners may be experiencing similar failures. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential safety-related defects involving sunroof leakage in Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The severity of the water intrusion and resulting damage indicates a defect that could pose a risk to vehicle safety and occupant well-being.

Dec 2025 STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I went to start my car and pull out of a parking lot when the power steering would not turn on. I tried starting and stopping the engine multiple times. I eventually left the car and returned later for it where the power steering was back on and fully functioning. I had a friend drive me and the vehicle to my house to be towed to a jeep dealership the following day. The power steering went out and back on two more times during that 10 min drive. Jeep service received the vehicle the next day and said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle and reset the computer. I was told to come pick up my car as there was nothing more they could do.

Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an active safety recall (#68C – 2020–2025 JL & 2022–2026 WL) related to the battery/electrical system. The dealership informed me that Stellantis does not have a repair or remedy available and does not expect parts until at least April 2026, possibly longer. This means the vehicle cannot be repaired, sold, or traded for over a year. I have been without the car since July 2025, since the last recall B273C-00 – Digital Crash, and now this recall, and have incurred rental costs, insurance, and additional car payments due to loss of use. This is a serious safety concern, and the extended delay is causing significant financial hardship. I am requesting NHTSA review the manufacturer’s delay in providing a remedy for this recall.

Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM How many recalls does one vehicle get in 2 years of ownership get before they take car back? This is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned at $64,100 price tag. We went through this battery recall last year at this time and could not use hybrid system for 5 months and had to park outside until recall was performed and god forbid you take grandkids anywhere in it, and with all the countless other problems that are so speratic they cannot fix.Recall number 95B, when weather was finally warm enough for them to perform the diagnostics on it, it was deemed okay. Now I get another recall for same thing and once again it is a fire hazard again and no fix is available according to recall info. So people are suppose to drive around in a $64,100 vehicle that could go on fire and cannot park in garage or use hybrid system for its intended use. Tonight s weather is suppose to be -10 degrees F in Iowa and we keep having problems with the heater blowing cold air and have taken it to dealership for total of 10 days trying to figure this problem out with no resolve yet. When does someone finally say is enough is enough? They have had my Jeep in their dealership 34 days total not counting recalls trying to resolve why the power steering goes out and all safety devices are offline and nnobody can resolve these issues so it is a total crap shoot every time you start it up! The fire hazard thing really bothers me being a past fireman and nobody seems to care, just park your car away from flammable material and structure, are you kidding me! What happens when you have kids and grandkids in this car? Somebody ha to help us! Internet is flooded with these problems with Jeep 4XE. Please help us out of this situation because Stellantis and dealerships do not care! You want your family riding this crap when heat does not work and windows fog over or start on fire while your driving or its sitting in driveway while you sleep? I tried to Lemon Law this last year so I have 70 plus docume

Dec 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Driving home and car had a sudden loss of power randomly while driving. It would not restart until 5-10 minutes later despite multiple start/stop attempts. On the screen it stated to “plug in to condition battery.” We were in the left lane on a busy road with construction and were almost rear ended multiple times while car was not functional. Have had multiple issues with battery on this 4xe - did recent software update at dealer. I have taken it to dealer previously for battery code (service battery) and they stated they can see code, but unsure of what problem is. No warning lights prior to incident. It sounds like through reviewing on internet this is a common problem with 4xe vehicles and if it hasn’t killed someone yet, it certainly will. We did call 911 for assistance due to the vehicle being disabled in middle of highway, but no official report was made.

Nov 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Yesterday, I had been traveling on the turnpike and was attempting to merge back on from a rest area when the Jeep entered "turtle" or "limp" mode without warning, indicating a failure of the hybrid system. The speed dropped instantly to 2mph and the engine kept revving, generating dark exhaust and a concerning smell (hot, different from regular vehicle exhaust smell). Eventually I was able to move back into the parking area and needed to be towed. I have yet to have it evaluated by a dealership as they are closed today. Following multiple previous hybrid system recalls since purchasing the vehicle Oct 2022, I've experienced numerous malfunctions of the hybrid system (taking it to the dealership multiple times to be evaluated after the "wrench" service hybrid electric system warning showed) over the last 6 months. Each time I've been told a "software reset fixed it" by the dealership. The problems with this hybrid system have been increasing in severity. Currently two recalls are in place due to these hybrid system issues (remedy not available). This was a scary, dangerous experience and I have no confidence in Stellantis resolving this issue.

Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE Timing cover leak, replaced by dealer once covered under warranty. Few months later same leak occurred in the same park after dealer replacement. Back to the dealer to have checked, dealer found that the head gasket during manufacture/casting has defect causing the head gasket to protrude into the mounting surface for the timing cover gasket/seal causing improper seal and securement. Dealer got Jeep engineers involved and found it was during manufacture and assembly/casting process. New head gasket being replaced and installed inspection of all mounting surfaces on cylinders valves and pistons for additional damage, and replacing timing cover gasket again. This caused loss of engine oil over time even after dealer fix and replacement the first time, this could cause drivers to not know they are low on engine oil causing potential catastrophic engine damage or failure/seizing during normal operating conditions. This is a common failure in the Jeep 4xe of timing cover seal issues and leaks.

Nov 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve which is affected by recalls 78C and 68C. These recalls have no remedy, no timeline, and no clear information from Stellantis. I no longer feel safe driving my daily driver, and the lack of progress has created a serious safety and reliability issue. Stellantis has instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings or other vehicles. This implies a potential fire risk that many owners cannot avoid, especially those who live in shared parking areas, garages, apartments, or townhomes. This should be treated as a major safety hazard. Stellantis has already attempted software updates and even high voltage battery replacements, but these efforts have not resolved the problem. The fact that previous fixes failed suggests a hardware defect involving the battery system or related components. Stellantis has not provided accurate or transparent information, and owners have no path forward. Because Stellantis advises against charging, the hybrid system cannot be used at all. This eliminates the purpose of the vehicle and increases operating costs. I have spent many hours at dealerships with no solution. Stellantis Customer Care has stated that they will not offer support or compensation and directed me to a third party arbitrator. I respectfully request that NHTSA increase oversight of recalls 78C and 68C, investigate whether Stellantis has properly identified the defect, and determine whether the company is meeting federal recall obligations. I also ask NHTSA to consider whether this situation warrants interim owner compensation or potential buy back evaluation due to ongoing safety risks, failed repairs, and the complete loss of hybrid functionality.

Nov 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while in park(P), the vehicle lost power. Two unknown warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 70 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer on several occasions, where the ECM and an unknown module were replaced. In addition, the system was restarted; however, the failures persisted, and the local dealer related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the local dealer, exposed to the weather for approximately 3 months. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,300.
