| Feb 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | While using the wipers under normal conditions, first the passenger the the driver side several weeks later have stopped working. They are loose and no longer work with the toggle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Vehicle goes into limp mode, limited power, flashing check engine light This happens after extended period on highway (hour or more) below 20 degrees F. When you exit highway and come to a stop. All good as soon as you try to accelerate CEL starts flashing and I have reduced power. To correct this. The vehicle has to be shut off and restarted. This means it happens when pulling out into traffic from a stand still at a stop light stop sign. Limited to about 15 mph regardless of road pulling onto. Then have to pull over shut off and restart put back in drive and go. This is not ideal in most cases and dangerous. Honda released a TSB but will not cover if out of warranty. I filed case with Honda at 70 K. They agreed to pay for parts and labor minus $50 deductible and sales tax on parts. This affect all 2017 to 2023 and some 2024 vehicles with 3.5L engine. This first happened to me with roughly 2k miles on car and is sporadic. Only cold weather and matches their TSB. Happens frequently every winter for me. For last 3 years When I found Honda TSB 24-085 suddenly the dealer knew this was happening. Yet I have been complaining for 3 years of issue. Once I showed them tsb suddenly oh that’s what you mean. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | During cold start up (below 40 degrees) the brake pedal is extremely stiff, very difficult to depress. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine was abnormally loud before the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the sound was extremely loud like the rod bearings were banging together. Additionally, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 50,150. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 50,150 |
| Dec 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Auto magic high beam head lights. These do not work EVER but are of part the sales persons spew on Honda safety features. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | 2022 Ridgeline's Auto Idle Engine Off/On activated while driving/moving. This week it occurred (Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024) on I95 in Virginia when going down hill at approximately 70 mph. The engine ceased without warning and the steering and brake pedal began to freeze up when I had eased off the gas to coast briefly down hill (in order to keep in the flow of traffic). I then gave it gas, pumping the pedal, and a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up; the Truck’s starter buzzed loudly as it restarted. I avoided an accident in traffic by not panicking and luckily because the vehicle behind us was not tailgating and that the section of highway was straight and not on a bend - otherwise it could have been catastrophic. The rest of the trip we turned the feature off and the truck had no incidents. Based on the few previous events, which were at slower speeds, it seems that if the truck coasts even briefly the feature can trigger as if the sensor "senses" that the truck is not moving - and the engine turns off (previously it felt like the truck was stalling). I previously mentioned the incidents to the dealer service techs but there is no awareness or acknowledgement of the issue. This week I placed another call to the dealer and left a detailed message - but nobody at the dealer has acknowledged this is an issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V321000 (Back Oven Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | This happened on the interstate. This happens repeatedly (about once per week) for my spouse, but today was the first time for me. I was changing lanes at about 75 MPH, and the tachometer dropped to zero despite my further depressing the accelerator. I took my foot off and again depressed the accelerator and the engine reengaged. I have not had the dealer look at this yet. There were no warning lamps or other messages in the driver information. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Frank Fletceher would not safety recall or warranty inspect my honda bc I didn't buy from them. I need a PGM-FI idle stop sw update & tailgate wire harness inspection. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the system failed to alert the contact of any objects behind the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer to ensure that the backup sensors worked as needed; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle lurched forward after repeated depression of the accelerator pedal and then resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Backup camera can take up to 20 or 30 seconds to turn on when reverse gear is entered | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | When in the automatic headlight setting, when it is dark, the high beams turn on and off constantly and highbeam oncoming traffic regularly. The safety issue is highbeaming oncoming cars making it difficult for them to see and making them really angry at me. I have had the dealer look at it multiple times, I have even taken the issue to American Honda. They claim there are no sensor issues reporting and they recently drove the vehicle at night and feel what it is doing is normal. I have a 4 1/2 minute video showing the lights turn on and off 20 times and highbeaming an oncoming car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | Approximately six times between November 2023 and April 2024, the vehicle has experienced a loss of power. Details of the incidents : Pressed gas pedal to increase speed (at least twice on interstate); buzzing/grinding noise from left front side; vehicle lost all acceleration, but did not stall; depressed gas pedal and situation resolved itself in about 3-5 seconds Tachometer went to zero Econ mode was enabled Temperature was near freezing Vehicle was not under heavy load | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | When driving around sharp corners at a moderate to fast speed, the automatic emergency braking system will sometimes display a message on the dash saying "BRAKE" and a warning beep will sound. I do not believe that the braking system engages, however the "BRAKE" warning is very discerning. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | Autodim headlamps are too sensitive and not usable. They autodim for standard road signs and any object. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Wireless cell phone charger doesn’t work. Light just blinks and the phone never charges. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Adaptive cruise isn’t smooth. Accelerates and deaccelerates constantly when following another vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | After pulling into my son's driveway that only has a slight downward grade, I put my Honda Ridgeline into park, shutoff the engine and then exited the vehicle. I took only a step by the driver's side mirror when the vehicle rolled back about six inches. I immediately got back into the vehicle and started it up to make sure it was in park. Both indicators on the dash and the center consol button showed the vehicle was in park. I then set the emergency brake. This incident was reported to my dealer on 2/15/24. They found no codes stored and no concerns with the transmission. They stated" advised customer vehicle may roll back until the parking brake pawl engages. This is normal operation of the transmission." | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | Automatic headlight dimming does not function properly. In automatic mode it rarely turns on the high beam lights. If they are on anything bright such as a reflection from a road sign or bright building lights on the side of the road turns off the high beams. After they go off they rarely turn back on. I now only use them manually. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | ENGINE | The incident with my 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition occurred while driving on the interstate from Minneapolis back to my home in Illinois (Chicago suburbs). While taking an exit ramp to a different interstate I slowed down before the turn and then, when accelerating to merge onto the other interstate, my Ridgeline "check engine" light began flashing and the vehicle began to limp along at a maximum speed of ~40MPH. I quickly pulled off to a parking lot and arranged for a tow truck for the next day, as it was very late in the evening and very cold. The next morning, I went to meet the tow truck at the parking lot, and I started up my Honda Ridgeline with no issues (and no check engine light). It was then that I found a message board conversation titled “Check engine light flashing after freeway driving” on the internet [XXX] ) and discovered this issue had been occurring with other Ridgelines in similar conditions - i.e., long drives in cold weather where the driver slows down and then accelerates. In all cases, it seems that simply turning off the vehicle and re-starting a few minutes later fixes the problem, but not before you encounter a potentially dangerous situation with a disabled car on the road. On [XXX] I took my Ridgeline in for service at my local Honda dealership (where I had purchased the vehicle in 2022) and they were unable to find any issues or error codes stored (no error codes being stored seems to be the common occurrence with other drivers who have had this issue). In my view, this issue, while somewhat uncommon due to the particular set of circumstances needed to produce the error, presents a major safety issue for the Honda Ridgeline as it can essentially disable your vehicle while driving on the interstate. I’m hopeful that the NHTSA can work with Honda to quickly diagnose and resolve this safety issue before it leads to tragic consequences. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Around 25,000 miles front brakes started making screeching noise with regular stopping. I am not a hard breaker. Rotors according do the dealership have developed hot spots. Honda has changed to a coated rotor which cannot be turned. I also have a 2019 Honda ridgeline that has the non coated rotors and have had no problems with front brakes. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | Auto high beams do not work properly, had a road rage incident with another driver as my high beams did not turn off, tye other driver was annoyed I was driving with high beams on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | The automatic high beam system is dangerous. When active, the system frequently blinds oncoming drivers because the high beams remain active. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | The auto headlight dimming is not functioning properly and blinds oncoming traffic quite frequently. This seems to be a known issue when investigated. It is a feature sold with the vehicle as standard equipment on this trim level. It is marketed as a convenience to assist with dimming if the operator misses the opportunity to dim for oncoming traffic. If I engage this feature, it rarely dims, and I am routinely flashed. It is concerning for the safety of the opposing vehicles, as well as road rage that could develop from not dimming for the oncoming drivers. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
