Apr 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Auto Idle Stop not working. By default it should be on and driver must actively turn it off. Mine does not/not come on. This problem appears different from the numerous other problems reported with the Auto Idle Stop but it still is a problem and indicates the system may have a number of related defects and that its may be just be a metter of time until I experience other more serious problems.

Jan 2026 ENGINE My engine seized up at only around 74,859 miles. As I was driving it immediately seized up on the roadway causing a hazardous condition. There was no check engine light on to warn me. I had the vehicle towed to dealership and had them inspect the vehicle and take the engine apart. They told me the crankshaft bearings were disintegrated. There were consistent oil changes done with this vehicle. I am now expected to pay $5,000 to $13,000 for a new engine. This is a 2022 Honda Ridgeline.

Jan 2026 ENGINE Coming down a ramp in parking deck with right foot lightly riding the brake pedal to control the car’s descent when all of a sudden the vehicle accelerated full throttle as if the gas pedal had been “floored.” The acceleration was so intense that it drove my body backward into my seat and pulled my foot off the brake. At this point, the only control I had was my hands on the steering wheel. With the car continuing to accelerate towards the parked cars, I quickly turned the steering wheel to the right, but too late and the front driver side of my vehicle clipped one of the parked cars. My foot is still in the air and yet the car is still surging ahead full throttle and my vehicle is flying towards a car that had come down the ramp a few seconds ahead of me. At this point I slam my right foot onto the brake pedal, but not in time to avoid the passenger front bumper of my vehicle from hitting the rear of that car. At this point, my vehicle’s engine shut off and the HondaLink automatically dialed for help.

Jan 2026 ENGINE The CEL flashed 2 days earlier, I immediately pulled to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off, suspecting it may be a misfire. Restarted the vehicle and all seemed fine. After arriving home i plugged in my scanner to check for a code. No codes were found. I decided to carry my scanner in the vehicle, and plugged it in before starting a 10 mile drive to a store. After 3 miles, the CEL flashed and displayed code P0303 cylinder 3 misfire. I pulled to the side of the busy interstate I was on and turned the vehicle off. When I restarted the engine, a heard a rattling sound and turned it off. I then called the dealer and asked me to have it towed in. The dealer diagnosed a cylinder #3 spun rod bearing. This occured at 68,517 odometer miles.

Dec 2025 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Auto high beams redesigned from g2 to g3 models (mine is a 2022).. They do not work correctly. I know Honda had them working on my 2017 ridegeline, but engineering changes have made they inoperative. There is a multitude of complaints by almost every owner as there were none shipped that worked as designed. Honda support simply ask the owner to adjust the light sensitivity setting (low, med, high) but that is not the issue. While adjusting sensitivity may control the point at which the lights sense the brightness of on coming traffic, is does nothing to fix the problems.. 1.) problem Honda changes from 30MPH min spped to turn on automatically to 45 MPH. Useless at 45 MPH turn on, to many back roads where you need them are under 45 mhp. 2.) high beams go off when they sense the oncoming traffic lights, but alomost 100% of the time they fail to realize oncoming traffic terribly blinding oncoming traffic. 3.) They do not reenable themselves , after taking note, they appear to have a timer such that if they go off, for a set number of seconds (way to long) they may and I mean may re-enable themselves, but by the time they do if they do, the distance traveled before being reenabled is unacceptable. 2017-2020's ridgeline, work as expected, off in oncomng and back on with an sec or 2. 4.). Worst part, Honda continues and continues to make and distribute later ridgeline models with the same safety hazzard and selling them defective. Customer support and dealer are well aware of the issue, bug have not offered any fix or software patch for this design flaw... Hey my recourse is simply this, if they fail to turn off and a the police are my oncoming traffic and issue a ticket, I sue Honda and second and worst yet if it causes an serious accident possilby because a driver went off the road, I sue Honda.. and your folks for failure to tell Honda to fix this.. Way to long , to may complaints to you and Honda yet nothing 4 years later almost is being done... Kinda horrible?

Nov 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I took my vehicle to the Honda dealership to have a safety recall repaired. Following the repair, the alarm started intermittently going off. Before the repair, the vehicle was running well. I did not know what the alarm sounded like before the recall repair. After they checked the vehicle, I was hit with a $1500 repair bill to replace the Keyless Control Unit. This part is what is causing the issue. Now I am left with no recourse. I called Honda corporate, and they told me that they couldn't help me. I am very disappointed because I am a long-time Honda owner and apprantly the quality is not there anymore.

Oct 2025 STRUCTURE The paint on all four doors of my 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition - White Pearl is cracking at the seam where sealant is applied, with visible rust beneath. This issue began at approximately 32,000 miles, within the warranty period. The cracks have worsened over time, and I’m concerned about potential corrosion and structural weakening of the doors.
In March 2025, I reported the issue to my local Honda dealer, who confirmed the cracks and instructed me to obtain repair estimates at their body shop. By May 2025, the regional Honda rep denied the claim due to repair cost and said to get a 2nd estimate from another shop they specified. That claim was again denied due to cost. The dealer told me to contact Honda Corporate which I did in October 2025. I was told the car was out of warranty and no further investigation would be made.
The cracks and visible rust raise concerns about premature corrosion, potentially weakening the door structure and latches, which could lead to a safety hazard over time. The delay in processing the claim appears intentional, as it pushed the car out of warranty.

Oct 2025 ENGINE The contact owned a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, it caught on fire. The vehicle was unoccupied. The contact stated that the next-door neighbor knocked on the contact's door, screaming that the vehicle was on fire. The contact stated that the fire originated from under the engine hood before the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The fire department was called. The fire department extinguished the fire. No injuries were sustained. The contact stated that the vehicle remained in the contact's driveway, and the fire consumed the vehicle. The vehicle was melted down and almost spread to the contact's house. The contact stated that it would probably take special equipment to remove the vehicle from the contact's driveway. In addition, the contact stated that when the vehicle was parked, there were no warning lights illuminated and no issues with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

Sep 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Rodents chewed through fuel vent line. We did have emission warning light come on. Took to dealer and was told unsafe to drive. Jun 2025 STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES I am having brake indicator light popup 4 time in three week with some strange noise while driving high speed on freeway. I researched found some recall on my 2022 Honda Ridgeline. Based on the provided VIN, [XXX], it appears show my 2022 Honda Ridgeline may be affected by two safety recalls: 1. Rearview Camera Issue: The rearview camera tailgate wire harness might break, preventing the camera image from displaying and increasing crash risk. This affects certain 2020-2024 Ridgeline vehicles. Dealers will replace the harness free of charge. Owner notifications were sent on November 8, 2024, for Honda Recall Number YI7. 2. Brake Master Cylinder Issue: An improperly assembled tie rod fastener could cause the brake master cylinder to separate from the booster assembly, leading to a loss of brake function and increased crash risk. This affects certain 2020-2023 Ridgeline, I called Honda customer service reported the problems case#[XXX]. However, No action from Honda at the time. Due to public safety concern and my self I report the incident for you to review. Apr 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I am not sure this is the correct area to raise this concern. I had a 2017 Honda Ridgeline and bought a Tonneau Cover for it. I was informed it had a recall but did not have a chance to repair it. Fast forward the Tonneau cover is now on my 2022 Ridgeline but I am being told that the recall does not cover a 2022 Ridgeline. I tried to argue that the Accessory was recalled not the model year of the truck. The vehicle has nothing to do with the recall and repair to the Accessory. I have not had any luck getting my Tonneau cover repaired so I am raising this to this organization since in my opinion the recall should not have been issued with the assumption that people buy the cover new when they buy a new truck. Open to your feedback if you agree or disagree with me.

Apr 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE While trying to accelerate quickly from the start ,low 15 mph and moderate speeds when you feel you have to push the accelerator pedal all the way at once to the floor theirs a bad Hesitation where the vehicle is going nowhere. The accelerator cable by wire doesn't RESPOND when you want to accelerate . This can cause an ACCIDENT When you attempt to accelerate and the vehicle doesn't get out of its own way. This problem has the same symptoms of the older style carburetors when the accelerator pump goes bad. I asked the dealership about this problem and the reply is ,there's no Check engine light or CODES. Vehicle is working as it should . Problems happened soon after the purchase of vehicle.

Apr 2025 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Courtesy and safety lighting installed to enter and exit car has never worked properly since the day of installation. It has caused me to slip on ice I could have other wise seen. had it been working properly. It broke within 30 days of the install. I've had Honda work on it 2 times under warranty and they could never get it fixed right. I feel they should refund money or repair it with light's that don't fail. Our Nissan has the same system and has never failed in 8 years of ownership. Please look into this and warn others of this malfunction of parts Honda is selling. Mar 2025 POWER TRAIN Experienced delayed then hard shift into gear when starting from stop this caused the vehicle to sit in road for extended time then lurch forward when it finally went into gear. Also while driving heard a noise then completely lost power and there was no throttle response for 10-20 seconds. This has happened multiple times while driving on busy highway and while trying to change lanes causing the vehicle to slow down considerably before throttle re-engaged.

Mar 2025 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE The truck has had ~6 occurrences since purchased where the engine briefly loses power in highway cruising speeds between ~50 and 75mph At first we thought it was a safety feature or governor on the truck – or a malfunctioning of the Auto-idle. I mentioned the incidents to the dealer service techs where we bought it but there was no awareness or acknowledgement of issues or a safety feature that would do this. This has happened to both my wife and me when driving; we began documenting the events - the last 3 are as follows: [XXX], midday. [XXX], VA, going downhill at ~70 mph, engine began stalling without warning when I eased off the gas to coast briefly downhill in the flow of traffic; steering and brake pedal began to freeze. I gave it gas, pumping the pedal to no immediate effect; a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up; making a loud buzzing noise. I avoided an accident in traffic by not panicking and because the vehicle behind us was not tailgating. [XXX], 7:08 pm. I [XXX] at ~62-65 mph, again in the middle lane cruising with traffic, Auto-idle turned off. When we coasted for a few seconds in the flow, the engine suddenly lost power; would not accelerate or re-engage. After a couple of seconds the engine came back to full power with a slight buzz (high pitch) – not as loud as previous times. [XXX]/ 8:13 pm. On [XXX] going through Jacksonville downtown on the way to the airport. In the middle lane (second over from left lane) at ~60mph the engine started to lose power in spite of my foot being on the gas. I kept the gas applied and the engine power came back. No buzz sound. At ~ 31,531 mile on the odometer. Note that we changed dealers for the service – Honda of the Avenues, and they have had the truck a few times since the [XXX] event. They have been able to pick up one code when scanning the truck – for a “transmission event.” They cannot replicate the event. Mar 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM On multiple occasions at highway speeds when coasting for a few seconds roughly 50mph to 70mph, the truck begins to stall/ lose power. We thought it was related to the Auto-idle feature, but the last two events I had it turned off. This has happened 5 or 6 times to me and my wife since about six months after buying the truck. Four of the events - November 2023: [XXX] in New Jersey at ~50 mph, engine lost power, applying gas did nothing. A few seconds later it regained power and made a buzzing noise. [XXX]: On [XXX] in Virginia, going down hill at ~70 mph, the engine lost power without warning, steering & brake pedal began to freeze up as if the truck was turning off when coasting briefly down with the flow of traffic. I pumped the gas pedal to no avail - a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up - and buzzed loudly. I avoided an accident; luckily the vehicle behind us was not tailgating. No lights or warning appeared on the dash. The dealer scanned the truck's computer and they noted a transmission event code, but nothing more. Could not replicate the issue. [XXX], Jacksonville, FL [XXX] near [XXX] at ~62 mph, in the middle lane with Auto-idle turned off, engine began to lose power briefly with a slight Buzz (high pitch) when it "came back" to full power - again while cruising, almost coasting - to keep pace and distance from the vehicle in front of me. My wife witnessed the event and made note of the time and speed. [XXX], 8:13pm - on [XXX] going through Jax on the way to the airport to pick up my wife. In the middle lane (second over from left lane) at ~60mph started to lose power in spite of my foot being on the gas. I kept the gas applied and the engine power came back. No buzz sound. At ~ 31,531 mile on the odometer. The truck has been back to the dealer 3 times and they cannot replicate the event.
