Mar 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The car failed to start after stop at a traffic light. It happened few times. I replaced old battery with a new one. The problem still persists. Mechanic checked the battery health and found to be good.

Feb 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I have received a rejected emission test due to the computer not updating. Honda demands 200 diagnosis for this. and I have read it reported several times to years 2019 - 2023

Feb 2026 POWER TRAIN Vehicle: 2022 Honda Pilot Elite AWD Mileage at first occurrence: ~30,000 miles Current mileage at worsening/repeatability of issue: ~48,000 miles My 2022 Honda Pilot Elite experiences a loss of propulsion during cold starts, most commonly after using remote start. The issue occurs when the vehicle is cold, shifted into Drive, and remains stationary for approximately 10–15 seconds. Under these conditions, the vehicle displays the message “Stop driving when safe. Transmission problem. See manual,” disengages the transmission, and shifts itself into Neutral. The vehicle will not move until it is shut off and restarted. This condition has occurred multiple times and is repeatable under the same circumstances. There are no other warning lights present, and restarting the vehicle temporarily restores normal operation. I reported this issue to my Honda dealer. The dealer contacted Honda North America technical support, who stated they are aware of this exact issue and the specific sequence of events that causes it. Honda advised that they do not consider this behavior a defect and declined to provide any repair guidance or corrective action. This condition results in an unexpected loss of drive capability and could pose a safety risk if it occurs in traffic or at an intersection. The issue can occur during normal vehicle operation and does not involve misuse of the vehicle.

Feb 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Idle engine restart failed. The vehicle went in idle mode at stop light, whe I got green and moved feet off brake to acceleration the engine failed to restart. It happened on 2/3/2026. I turned on hazard light to alert other drivers I was in trouble. I kept getting message on dashboard to put car in park, press the brake and push engine start. It did not work for a while I stepped out of vehicle unlocked stepped back in then I could start the engine. The second occurrence was 2/7/2026. This was a major intersection. Same thing happened, situation lasted longer, traffic built up behind me I had to call 911, I step out the vehicle to open the hood in addition to having hazard light on for my safety. I tow truck came along. When he open vehicle and got in, the engine started. I was at dealership today 2/11/2026 they indicated no fault was found. While waiting for my appointment today I have been turning off the automatic idle feature every time I get in the car.

Feb 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Lots of warning lights going off in car. Took it to the dealership and was told it’s the front camera and would cost over $2k to fix. Car is new, less than 5 years old. Should not be having this issue on a new car. After researching found there are lots of people with the same issue. Seems to me it’s a manufacturing issue and Honda should be responsible to fix.

Jan 2026 STEERING 2022 Honda Pilot - steering wheel / front of car started to make a clanking noise when driving over speed bumps / noise started around 35k miles on odometer. Two different service appointments with Honda pointed to shocks and sway bar links; 3rd non honda service appointment found the issue to be a failing rack and pinion. 3rd service appointment replaced the rack and pinion / sound is gone and vehicle steers tight once again. mileage was 44k when replaced.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING It is constantly breaking when cars are coming the other way. It almost caused a vehicle to almost hit me. Also the auto shut off has almost caused accidents because it causes my car to stall and I wish I could keep it off and not have to push the button off every time.

Jan 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER While driving on I-26 at 60 MPH at approximately 2PM on 01/08/2026 the sunroof exploded. It was not struck by anything, no other vehicle was within a half mile of us at the time. Fortunately the cover was closed because we do not use the sunroof. It has only been opened one time a the delership the day the car was delivered new. This sunroof explosion was loud and frankly scared the heck out of us. Had the cover not been kept closed we would have been showered by broken glass. This could have easley resulted in a driver panic and a crash. I feel this is a manufacturing defect and based on numbers of events through various Honda models and years should covered by Honda recall/warranty coverage.

Jan 2026 ENGINE Engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the Auto Idle Stop (AIS) function engaged. When I release the brake pedal, the vehicle automatically goes into neutral, and when I try to put into Drive, nothing happens, then it takes multiple attempts to turn the vehicle off. Once it turns off, it does turn back on, and I can continue driving. This behavior is hard to reproduce consistently, it's happening from time to time.

Dec 2025 ENGINE As I was traveling from Houma, La on a major highway to an out of state meeting. I started to hear a slight tapping sound and pulled over to inspect the sound. Upon inspection it seemed as though it was coming from the lower engine, or exhaust near the engine area. I located the nearest Honda dealership which was Community Honda of Lafayette with intentions of dealership inspection. It was approximately a 20 minute drive from the current location. As I was approaching the exit to the dealership the warning system lit up an check engine light. The Manager at the dealership took the vehicle to the back and ran a scan and responded that it sounds like an exhaust leak. I got back on the road for my destination. Approximately an hour later while I was on [XXX] all of the warning lights lit up at once, the engine jerked and shut off. I pulled over to inspect the vehicle again. I restarted the vehicle to work myself to a safe exit. The vehicle would not drive over 20mph. Once at a safe location I made concessions to have the vehicle carried back to my local Honda dealership, Barker Honda in Houma, La Upon inspection by the Honda technicians it was found to have irreparable damage to the engine internals. Technician states this could occur to low oil and/ or lack of maintenance; however, the technician was perplexed by the failure because all maintenance and records in their system showed that the vehicle was properly maintained by their staff. Nov 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS The ADAS camera has failed. It is extremely common. When it fails, all the lights for EVERY system of ADAS comes on. None of them work. And it is not possible to turn off. Furthermore it sets codes for the brakes and turns on the brake warning lights. So none of the brake assist systems work either. Honda refuses to warranty any of these systems when the camera fails. It is across their entire line of vehicles with ADAS. If they can’t build a functional system, it should not have the system. Also, the system functions extremely poorly, when it was operating. It will drive the vehicle, unassisted, down to 20 mph, then just shuts off and lets the vehicle coast, unguided. Also, if the cruise is set and lane keeping on, and it can’t find lane lines, particularly where lanes merge, it will often veer left, into oncoming traffic. I have tested both of these, when the system was functioning “correctly”. The cruise and lane keeping just shuts off, at any speed, and lets the car go where ever it would without input. It is extremely dangerous.

Nov 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER Every since I purchased my 2022 Honda Pilot, I have had soo many issues with the windshield chipping. I bought the car brand new. Within the first 6 months, I had a chip at the top right corner (passenger side) the ended up cracking all the way to the edge. I had to replace the windshield. Fast forward to within a year of the new windshield being in place, and I know have FOUR chips. All on the passenger side. Two near the bottom and two near the top right. I have asked Honda several times if there are issues with the windshields, and they claim there is not. I have asked about having my frame checked to make sure it wasn't a manufacturing issue, but have not, since they need the windshield off to look. I have been driving for over 20 years. I have NEVER had a chip in my windshield. I even had a 2018 Pilot - 0 issues.

Nov 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Car alarm going off randomly when locked. When car is near fob and turned off the head unit will randomly turn on and off rapidly, appears to be a smart power module failure. This has been going on intermittently since 50k miles. Most recently today, I had to disconnect the battery to make it stop.

Nov 2025 BACK OVER PREVENTION The contact owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the entertainment system was blank and had shut down. The message “My Map Off” was displayed. The vehicle was restarted, and the rearview camera was inoperable. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V431000 (Back Over Prevention). The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and assisted with resetting the system. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

Oct 2025 TIRES 245 /50 R20 : size My dealership told me I needed to change all my tires and provided pics showing pieces of my tires (3 tires) missing. This was present in all 3 of the original tires- same dot and sizes. The 4th tire has already been replaced. My Honda pilot mileage is 29000 miles, purchased new in November 2021. My pilot is garage parked and is not often exposed to the elements for long periods of time.

Oct 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL My vehicle multipurpose camera unit failed. The entire advanced driver assistance system shut down and stopped working. This error randomly appeared. My vehicle has 48,000 miles on it. I received error codes for each of the components that they were not working. This meant no adaptive cruise control, no automatic emergency braking, no blind spot warning, no forward collision warning, no lane departure warning, no lane keeping assistance, no parking collision warning, no rear cross traffic warning. My safety was put at risk as the components that provide safety warnings were not operative. I took the car to my Honda service shop and they provided the following diagnostic: [Other]: Verify customer concern that theirs multiple lights on on the vehicle, then check for codes notice theirs code for U3000-49 multipurpose camera unit/ millimeter wave radar internal electric failure. Then disconnect one of the connectors for sensor to single one out to see if when clear the code to see if stays on or not, after clearing the code lights still came on and code pop on. Recommend start first replacing with a new multi purpose camera, and retest. I paid for the repair as it needs fixed for safety purposes. The cost was $1,950.00. Honda should be responsible for covering this as it is some type of camera malfunction and the vehicle is only 3 years old.

Oct 2025 LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST All the sudden the lights in dash went off reading lane keep assist failure, adaptive cruise control failure, and automatic brake system failure. Nothing was working, lights stayed on, took to auto body shop, they said I need a whole new front windshield camera and for it be recalibrated, that will cost more than $2000. Honda is saying this isn’t under warranty or recall but it seems like it keeps happening to many Hondas when you look up the same problem so it should be a recall.

Oct 2025 STEERING The contact owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving and turning in either direction, there was a clicking and squeaking sound coming from the steering column, and the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic, who was unable the identify the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the extended coverage or recall related to the failure. The failure mileage was 58,900.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM When I started my 2022 Honda Pilot Special Edition (VIN: [XXX] ) in a parking lot, the vehicle immediately behaved abnormally. As I attempted to turn into a space, the car unexpectedly accelerated and moved in an unintended direction. Despite pressing the brake pedal firmly, neither the standard brakes nor the automatic braking system responded. Shifting into Park did not stop the vehicle, and the transmission did not engage to hold the car. The vehicle continued moving through the parking lot, striking property and other vehicles. The entire event felt like a loss of braking and control, with both the brake system and gear selector failing to function as intended. This was a sudden and dangerous incident that could have caused serious injury. The Honda dealer has confirmed there are no open recalls or campaigns for my VIN, but the event aligns with reports of unintended acceleration and brake failure in other 2022 Honda Pilot vehicles. Sep 2025 LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING The camera on the windshield fails when then the windshield gets too hot when you are driving and causes the safety systems to stop functioning ( lane assist, blind spot, etc). See attached pictures. This is a major design flaw and Honda should recall and replace the cameras on all 2022 Honda pilots. I live in the desert in El Paso, Texas and this happens when you are driving . See my attached pictures that occurred at 83 degrees and 93 degrees, respectively. Please help me before there is a fatal injury.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE At a stop light and the car shifted to neutral and lost power, had to restart car. This happened twice, once on a busy road and we were almost rear-ended. Took the car to dealership they said the only thing they could find was that it needed a new battery. Changed battery and has not happened since. They said that likely the battery did not have enough power to power the auto stop/start feature so when I stopped the car lost power. I had no indication that the battery was low and never had a car with a low battery lose power in the middle of traffic. I feel like this is bad design and a potential safety hazard.
