Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Jun 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The issue is two fold, first the seal on the rear spoiler is defective and causing water to leak into the cab. Second, the seal around the rear power sliding window is defective and is also leaking into the cab. My safety concern is the amount of black mold that could be trapped between the headliner and roof putting myself and family at grave risk.

Jun 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Our Parking brake locked up and we could not go anywhere. Had to have it taken to a dealership to have it looked at. Then all our warning lights keep going off and it says acceleration speed slow down drive safely and its parked. We have had nothing but problems with the truck since we bought it. We had the transmission replaced before there was even 50,000 miles on it. I feel we got a lemon nothing but problems.

Jun 2025 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The engine has been rough idling after being put in a GM certified repair shop multiple times within the last year. Also the oil pan has a constant issue with leakage even after doing 3000 dollars worth of work, including the oil pan being replaced. There was a safety recall put out for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for this very problem that my vehicle is having ( engine loss of propulsion) recall # N252494002 L87. This is affecting our livelihoods.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES Driving across town. Going around 30 mph. Through a busy intersection and the rear wheels locked up again. Sends a jolt to anyone in the vehicle. Causing a whiplash effect. Scary as hell. Seems to happen almost daily now. Very unsafe. Worried about myself and anyone behind me. Dealer and other mechanics described it as "momentary wheel lock up". Please issue a recall.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN Transmission valve body failed. I was driving to the store on 5/17/25 with my son (6) and the RPMs jumped while driving. We were less than a mile from the store and continued as it seemed to not be an issue after that. When we attempted to leave the store we had no reverse gear and the vehicle was in limp mode (limited acceleration). The vehicle has been at the dealership since 5/17/25 and they have confirmed that the valve body failed. The CEL came on when we started the vehicle at the store. This appears to be a prevalent issue for GM and the part to repair is backordered with no ETA available. The dealership advised it could be six months.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES When accelerating, it started around 35 mph, I would be driving and it would feel like hitting a speed bump, even though there wasn't a speed bump. Over the past month, it has moved to about the 45 mph, and the rear wheels completely lock up for a second, cause the tires to "squeal" as if slamming on the brakes. It gives anyone in the vehicle a whiplash effect. Any loose items in the truck will go flying. It is a scary situation and I am worried it is going to cause damage to myself or my passengers or cause an accident. The term given to me by the dealer is "Momentary Rear Wheel Lock-Up". They were very familiar with the issue, but since my VIN wasn't on the recall, they wouldn't do anything. This has happened numerous times, starting back in early March. The issue has escaladed and gotten worse. The latest date is noted below.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN There is already a recall on the Chevy Silverado but only for the 10speed engine not the V8s in regards to the transmission. There have been a select few V8s that just now started getting recalled. Our truck is doing exactly what these recalls are reporting- hard shifting, knocking of engine, check engine light, trouble shifting into gear. All of which could cause a blown motor or issues while driving and decides to breaks down on the highway or regular roads which if that happens could result in accidents. GM knows there are issues but refuses to acknowledge that all the trucks in the 2022 year regardless of the engine type need to be recalled.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The engine started to shake violently while traveling down the interstate, my speeds reduced against my will. My safety and the safety of others was jeopardized while I'm traveling down an interstate with a minimum speed of 70 mph and my truck speed reduced to 35 mph or less. After an inspection from the dealership, I assumed the responsibility of having the engine rebuilt that cost me thousands of dollars. As the vehicle started to reduce speed is when the onstar alert went off. After having my vehicle for 10 ten days I receive it in worst condition that I gave it to them. Approximately 2 weeks later, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership which they diagnosed it as needing the throttle body replaced. I allowed the dealership to fix that issue. Upon them returning the vehicle to me, I now have an electrical issue. The dealership stated that they may have crossed wires. The windows would roll down once I locked the vehicle, the door would constantly unlocked while I'm driving and the radio would shut down and restart while driving. The dealership was unable to find the problem so they decided to turn off everything so these I would not have these issues. Now I can smell something burning from time to time while I'm driving.

May 2025 ENGINE Coolant control valve malfunction on my truck with 43300 miles that causes my truck to go into limp mode. Took to dealership and was told I had to pay for an update to the ECM computer that is tied to the warning light. I was told that there are lots of recalls for this part but that I have to pay for a software update as a first line step to see if this will fix the issue. This is a known part failure that needs to be recalled and resolved and owners shouldn’t have to pay for software updates to fix there faulty parts.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that after the dealer had replaced the engine, the rear tires seized while driving, preventing the vehicle from moving forward or reverse. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to cover a part of the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 79,013.

May 2025 ENGINE I live in Eagar Arizona, we are currently under evacuation orders due to the Greer fire. My 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is not usable to leave the area. Because of the well known and seemingly unaddressed issue of a "coolant control valve" my truck has less than 29000 miles and is, in my opinion unsafe to use to escape a forest fire. I am sure there are other safety concerns applicable to the KNOWN design flaw. More importantly Chevrolet seems disinterested in resolving this nationwide problem with any type of expediency.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN - Failed Engine Coolant Control Valve, it was made available for inspection at a Chevy and GMC dealership - Failure of this part puts my family and other drivers at risk especially when towing our camper in the mountains of Colorado. The engine goes into "low power mode" which creates the possibility of overheating while driving and the coolant circulation to operate not as intended in the design of the vehicle. - Yes, the dealership was able to reproduce the condition and is sitting at the dealership now for 44 days as it is been considered "not drivable". - Yes, the dealership has been inspected by Emich Chevrolet in Lakewood, CO. - The check engine light did come on and produced GM code P1098. The engine goes into low power mode where the fans are on high and tells you to be careful when driving the vehicle. It first appeared in March 2024, the vehicle only has ~22,000 miles on it, bought new from the dealer.

May 2025 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle began to hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light was illuminated and the message "Engine Power Reduced" was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over and called the dealer who informed the contact that the vehicle should be towed to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where an oil change was performed, and the contact was informed to monitor the oil levels. The contact stated that the following day, the failure returned, and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The dealer performed an unknown repair, and the contact was informed that if the failure returned, the vehicle would need an engine overhaul. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 79,000.

May 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I was coming out of my workplace, made a right turn on to a Main Street, the lights were red so I was waiting to proceed and my truck engine just shut off. As the light turned green, I attempted to start the truck by turning the key off to restart the truck again, I tried twice to restart the truck, but it wouldn’t turn over, I couldn’t put my hazard lamps on because I lost all power. I was afraid because two 18 wheeler trucks were coming behind me . This area is heavily used by the trucking industry delivering goods to companies in the area. I was terrified that I was going to be hit from behind, I gave the ignition another try and the truck started, but it was sluggish in pulling off. I called the dealership that day and my new truck was at the dealership for almost a week. The following day of my drop off, the dealership said they recieved a recall on my truck. I have the repair ticket from the dealership. I no longer have faith in the truck that I paid so much money for, not the company that built it.

May 2025 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound and lost motive power. The “Service ESC” warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the connecting rod had punctured the engine block, allowing fluid to leak out from the engine. The dealer requested that the contact provide maintenance records. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available.
