Aug 2023 STEERING Power steering unexpectedly stopped working while going 55 mph. I’m learning there are others that deal with this issue so I decided to file a complaint as I’m not expecting Jeep to fix the issue. After safely pulling over, I power cycled the Jeep and the power steering was restored. Has only happened once, but fully expecting it to happen again. Losing power steering at high speeds is one thing, but turning the Jeep at low speeds was extremely difficult and extremely unsafe.

Jul 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER The front defroster only blows out of the middle vents, no flow out of the left and right vents, causing issues with visibility in any instance where the window might fog up. I have an appointment with the service department at my local Jeep dealer on 8/02/23. As this is a known issue and there is still no recall to fix the issue I feel a complaint is warranted.

Jul 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER When cruise control is engaged at high speeds the Jeep has a serious and dangerous wobble Also, the fuel saver auto shut off and start no longer works. The dealership is claiming both issues are out of warranty and are my responsibility to fix. Finally the recall fix left me without my jeep for 6 1/2 weeks. That is not a timely repair. They were only willing to cover 5 days of a rental.

Jul 2023 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER driving 75 down interstate and the vehicle just lost all power yet everything was "on" like normal and no check engine light- nothing. Would not allow me to accelerate or go over 45mph. It is like it would not shift gears. I stopped twice and turned the vehicle off but it did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and on day 2 (6 days later from initial incident) of them driving it, it did same with them but would not allow them to travel over 30 mph. They state it is not showing any codes and they don't know what is wrong. This is very dangerous while on a busy highway and going 75 to all the sudden lose power to your vehicle with no control and it quickly deaccelerates to 45pmh! I almost got hit multiple times as most people were driving 80mph plus! My vehicle is only 2 years old and less than 30k miles. Something is clearly wrong but not showing any codes so noone knows!

Jun 2023 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE Earlier this year vehicle would sometimes do the following, not at start up but when driving; Wipers on by themselves & driver can't shut off, turn signals inop, Both sides blind spot warning continously on alerting driver every time a vehicle on either side is passed or passes vehicle, anywhere from three to five dash warning lights illuminated. Took to dealer in April 2023 & diagnosed a bad can bus connector. Replaced connector (approx $700). Seemed to be the fix until it started again June 2023. This time all the above issues started up again including loss of power steering. I was on I70 at highway speeds in rush hour traffic and it was very dangerous. Returned to dealer yesterday 6/29/23 Immediately following loss of power steering while vehicle was displaying faults & they read codes. They are booked for 2 weeks so I'm scheduled to drop it off 7/10/2023. Dealer has been fine to work with and willing to help. My chief complaint is I have found numerous others that this is happening to (internet Wrangler JL forum) & I feel like car mfg knows about this and is not doing anything about it.

Jun 2023 POWER TRAIN Jeep clutch started slipping. Startig smelling a burning smell. Took it to the dealership. Service tech took it down the road to see for himself. While he was driving it he noticed debris on the road in the rearview and realized it was coming from the jeep. He pulled over and the hood was red hot. The jeep then caught on fire and burnt up! Total loss. The jeep only had 28000 miles on it and still under warranty.

Jun 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Dates of problem may 18 and June 9 The Jeep has engine light on the throttle control light is on I was driving on a highway and the vehicle completely went into limp mode would not go above 33 mph and almost caused an accident since the Jeep went into limp mode brought it to dealership they said the fixed it then a 2weeks later it happens again this time with my son in the car going 60 mph it does same exact thing this vehicle is a safety hazard for me and now I’m afraid to drive it at all having to pay for towing and it’s a leased vehicle just dosnt make sense to me what’s the lemon law on this

Jun 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION,UNKNOWN OR OTHER On multiple occasions when driving at speeds over ~50 MPH, and hitting a bump or hole in the road (highways), a terrifying wobble occurs in the steering wheel. It is shaking so violently that it also feels as though the suspension, steering, and maybe other components are compromised. I am concerned that this is an issue that could lead to severe accident / injury / fatality. I am able to regain control of the vehicle after slowing and pulling off the road. I’m fortunate enough that these incidents have thus far happened during times of low traffic where I’ve been able to pull to the shoulder and regain control. I’m very concerned that it could happen when that’s not feasible or that the vehicle could lose control altogether at highway speed. I’m also incredibly concerned that Jeep dealers in my area weren’t able to accept my vehicle for weeks and wouldn’t offer any options for loaner / rental support. It feels to me like Jeep is accepting the risk that serious injury / accident / fatality could occur vs prioritizing consumer safety.

Jun 2023 SUSPENSION When driving on an uneven or bumpy highway my stock Jeep wrangler experiences the infamous “death wobble”. It has done this several times when going 40 or over and hitting small bumps or uneven pavement. Slowing down to around 20 or 25 resolves the issue. This is extremely scary when it occurred on a highway going 70 mph per the speed limit and having to slow down to a slow speed (which creates another safety hazard) to resolve it.

Jun 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The Air Conditioner in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler with 15K miles caused two anaphylactic reactions to mold. On Wednesday May 31, 2023, immediately upon starting the Jeep engine and the AC fan starting I had a severe allergic reaction while driving that resulted in me having to pull over and administer my EPI pen and use my inhaler. At the time my soft top was off as were the windows and doors. On Sunday, June 1st, the next time I got into my Jeep to drive the same thing happened. This time the doors/windows and soft top were attached. The the only constant variables to the allergic reactions were my Jeep and running the air conditioning. Today ran my Jeep engine in my driveway (it is currently 83 degrees in St. Louis) and ran the air conditioner for 30 minutes and there was NO fluid under the Jeep from condensation from the AC running. I believe the AC condensate line is clogged, and that there is mold on the AC evaporator, both causing my entire AC system and entire vehicle to be contaminated with mold causing both my anaphylactic reactions. The mold allergy is life threatening to me. The mold is also life threatening to the general public if I am driving and unable to maintain control of the vehicle due to anaphylaxis caused by the mold in the vehicle and AC system. The risk I would need to assume, if I choose to drive the Jeep again is unacceptable - and I will not take that risk. Additionally, I will not cause or assume liability for any harm caused to the public that results from an anaphylactic reaction of increasing severity to mold while driving the Jeep, which would likely temporarily incapacitate me and render me unable to control the Jeep. I will not drive my Jeep until both issues have been repaired and the Jeep has had a mold inspection and appropriate mold remediation. The Jeep dealership cannot service the Jeep for over 30 days rendering me without a car.

Jun 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION,UNKNOWN OR OTHER When driving over 50mph or above at highway speeds. When vehicle hits uneven or rough roadway. Violent shaking happens immediately Jeep websites call it the Death Wobble where, everything shakes really bad and is very stressful and scary. When the vehicle slows down to under 30mph the violent shaking stops. We brought the vehicle to the Cocoa Fl, Boniface Hiers Chrysler and Jeep dealership to have repaired. They made some adjustments the problem stopped for about 8 months. It has started doing the Death Wobble again. Have to take the vehicle back in to the dealership again.

Jun 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Power to my vehicle ceased abruptly. Now, my vehicle will not turn all the way on. The dashboard will illuminate but the engine will not start. This is due to Jeep's outstanding recall of a high pressure fuel pump. That recall has been listed with the NHTSA for over six months with no ETA.

Jun 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS - The front suspension, steering and tires are available for inspection. - A safety risk occurred immediately as I crossed an uneven transition from asphalt to concrete at the beginning of a bridge. The steering wheel/front end/vehicle began to shake violently at highway speed and maintaining control became difficult. I was unable to keep the vehicle in my lane. I immediately decelerated and with a semi on my rear, was eventually able to slow enough to use one hand to engage emergency flashers. The shaking stopped at about 35 mph. I've since learned this is referred to as a 'death wobble'. - Appointment made for dealership inspection on June 6, 2023. - There were no messages, symptoms or warnings.

Jun 2023 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM While driving approximately 15 mph the engine cut out and the engine light came on. I was able to pull over and the engine would not start. May 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION My 2021 Jeep Wrangler shakes uncontrollably if I hit any small bump at higher speed. It’s vibrates the entire vehicle making it impossible to steer or control. It only stops when I come to a complete stop. This is a safety issue and dangerous to drive. The vehicle has been inspected by a service department to replace steering damper, but have read this only temporary fixes the issue. There needs to be a recall for this vehicle even for models as new as 2021.
