| May 2023 | STEERING | Car began death wobble a little over 15,000 miles. Bumps at greater than 45 mph would result in this. Car would have to be stopped on highways to reset. Steering dampener exchanged by dealer, and issue was deemed fixed. Issue continues as car shakes over 65mph and pulls hard to the right. Car was taken in a second time, alignment was paid for out of customer pocket due to being categorized as wear and tear. Dealer says issue fixed. Immediately upon driving, issue is not fixed and car continues to shake violently over 65mph and pull hard to the right. Car taken in a third time. Now issue is inner wall of company chosen tires. Apparently it is too weak over time to support vehicle frame. At the beginning of this issue the car was one year old. Jeep refusing to cover tire replacement as stated it is a wear and tear issue. Even though it began at 15000 miles and is due to poor quality control on part of Jeep. Issue not with Bridgestone tire itself. Issue with tire specs not being able to withstand Wrangler frame. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | RECALL unable to be remedied by Manufacturer despite numerous attempts at two different dealers. Concerned for my safety as well as the safety of my family and elderly parent I care for. "Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning." | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,SERVICE BRAKES, AIR | The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the braking system failed to operate as designed with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) warning lights illuminated. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer where two attempts were made to replace the ABS; however, the failure persisted after the repair. The manufacturer was informed about the failure and acknowledged that the failure was a known issue with the model vehicle; however, there was no fix for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 28,000 |
| May 2023 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | This recall is potentially life threatening. It has been months & the dealer is still saying there is no fix. I believe they are not giving it the proper attention because this recall affects only Diesel engines & there were not many diesel jeep models purchased compared to traditional gas engine jeeps. I own 2. Both are affected & I feel unsafe. Please see that they remedy this problem asap before an accident occurs due to this problem. Thank you | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Manufacturer recall. Solution not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | After picking up the jeep from the dealership (brand new), we drove to mass from NY. On the second day of ownership, we drove car to store. When i returned to the car to drive home, it would not start and just said charging error with many warning lights. Car had to be towed to the nearest jeep dealer. Car only had 200 miles on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | Car shut down in the middle of the highway at around 30 mph. While using the adaptive cruise control, i stepped on the gas to accelerate. The car then shut down and many warning lights came on. The car did not respond to restarting, shifting or anything. Screen just said charge fault error. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | While driving on the highway the car started to shake violently as if one of the wheels was about to fall off. Pulled over to call jeep service and they said it was most likely a faulty steering dampner and that this has been a major issue for many new wranglers. So much so that parts were on back order at most dealerships. Only way to get expediated was to call Jeep Cares and plead my case. Advice was to drive below 50MPH until they could locate a new part and replace. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | My Jeep Wrangler has the famous "Death Wobble" and they cant seem to pinpoint what is causing it. Steering dampener fixed it for 3 days and it came back. It literally feels like I am about to be ejected out of my vehicle when I drive on any highway. FCA is throwing band aids at a known issue instead of bringing permanent fixed to the market. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The contact was then informed by the technician that the stabilizer bar would be replaced as a temporary repair however, the contact declined. | May 2023 | STRUCTURE | I made appointment with Galena Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat, Fort Myers, FL for May 4, 2023 at 9 AM to repair the Frame Stud defect (28A/NHTSA 23V-191) on this vehicle. After having received no communication from this dealer after 5 days, I went to pick up the vehicle the evening of May 8, 2023 and discovered no attempt to remedy this defect had been made. My plans are to drive this vehicle from FL to WI for the summer months later this week. Besides making you aware of this situation, I want to have it on the record that I attempted to have the defect remedied in the event it is involved in a motor vehicle accident and would catch fire. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Vehicle will stop working in electrical mode...says "electrical mode unavailable" Dealership does NOTHING, vehicle performance is unpredictable. Sometimes will not start without a jump when the battery is fully charged from a 220 outlet. I've had it towed as I was stranded... dealership said "nothing wrong" ZERO diagnostic test to see if battery has a bad cell. Yet less than 24 hours from picking up at dealership, will only operate in gas mode. NOW it seems to down shift when I take my foot off gas....makes a grinding sound. Appears I purchased a lemon. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the PHEV mode failed to function as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 12,000 |
| Apr 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | 1st Jeep recall. Data update completed. Next day engine light. 2 weeks for first appointment. 3 weeks to get next appointment. After recall next day engine light heater codes. PCM replaced. Vehicle went Totally dead. New 12volt battery. Still dead. Star Stellantis Technical Assistance Request #1 Technicians from Michigan came and reprogrammed vehicle. Star #2 engine light heater codes still. A new recall for heater pump out for Jeep 4xe. My Vin # not included. Took possession June or July 2021. Current 3450. Miles. Jeep 4xe Hybrid unlimited. Vehicle has been @ dealership since February 2023. Here it is May 2023. I've talked with customer care. Still no parts. Still no work on vehicle. Told by dealership it needs heater pump and a battery heater warmer. No charging issue ever with plug in. Recall was for Stalling. Getting the big run around. Vehicle sat in garage for about a month or so. Then recall. On return to dealership , it crapped out in front of dealership. They had to clear all the codes to get it in service. So now into 5th month without vehicle. Recall goofed up my vehicle. Or it was already like that waiting to happen. Reliability ? Not ready as it is. It's just continues to sit @ dealership. ? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | POWER TRAIN,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Vehicle has fluttered off and on for 2 months. Drove on the highway yesterday and the fluttering progressively got worse. It began to lose power and a Service Electronic Throttle Control light came on. I pulled off the side of the road, turned it off and back on. I went 45 mph with hazard lights to the nearest exit. It continued to flutter and the light reappeared. I’ve called many jeep dealerships before this as well as now and they all say there is nothing they can do due to no solution/remedy. I don’t feel safe driving my Jeep back home 3.5 hrs so I have to borrow a family member’s vehicle while my Jeep sits at a dealership until there is something they can do. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | The first time the violent shaking of the steering wheel and vehicle was at highway speed. Fortunately I was able to pull over safely. I called to make an appointment with my closest dealer immediately and was made to wait 30 days. That first time my vehicle had 34,000 miles on it, by the time of my appointment they said it was out of warranty for the steering dampener since I was then over 36,000. I paid the diagnostic fees, labor and the replacement part. It has not fixed the issue, it has happened more frequently and more violently. I’ve taken it two non-dealer specialists who have not been able to pin point any problems. Spoke with Jeep customer service and they are requiring it to be diagnosed by a dealer at my cost, again. The last time the shaking happened I had to hit my brakes in the middle of the highway winding up with a tractor trailer narrowly missing me. I’m afraid to drive my $45,000 vehicle and now I have to wait multiple weeks again since my dealer (and called three others) has no available appointments before I can get any help. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while pulling into the parking space, the vehicle suddenly lunged forward crashing into the rear of a parked vehicle which then crashed into the rear of a second parked vehicle. The contact indicated that the vehicle lunged forward while the accelerator pedal was released in order to press the brake pedal. During the incident, no injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | 9,000 |
| Apr 2023 | STEERING | While going 55 mph, I hit a bump in the road and the Jeep started shaking all over the road. It started doing the death wobble. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | Same issue as the last time, and the time before that. Very dangerous, battery completely fails. The instrument meters are wrong and it shows that there is gas when there is really not any gas. Also more recently, we were driving on the highway in the express lane in the car just suddenly came to a stop. We could have died - luckily there was no one behind us. I managed to get the car over partially into the other lane so people could go around. The car had to be towed and I’m done paying for this. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Today this morning I parked, put the gear in park and all of a sudden the car ravaged up and jumped forward, causing me to go through a fence and stopped. I had my foot on the break the whole time. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | The jeep shakes violently when you hit rough terrain. It shakes and the steering wheel starts shaking. It is the death wobble. You have to slow down way below speed limit or stop to get it to stop shaking violently. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | AIR BAGS | High impact six car pile up, vehicle at a complete stop and hit at a high rate of speed. Front passenger side front impact as well as rear impact, no airbags deployed. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 3 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,ENGINE | The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that on various occasions, the vehicle was intermittently stalling while driving from a stop signal. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) needed to be replaced; however, the part for the repair was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | 15,000 |
| Apr 2023 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I received a recall notice regarding my Jeep that states that it has a high pressure fuel pump ("HPFP") that could fail prematurely. This notice was sent on 10/13/2022 and my vehicle has still not been serviced. The notice states that a HPFP failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. The fuel starvation could cause loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Also, it is possible that this issue could cause additional fuel system components to fail causing further damage to my Jeep. I drive my Jeep regularly, on a daily basis, and its my sole transportation for myself and my family. I feel unsafe driving it and would like to know what is the work around until parts are available to have this issue resolved. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
