Feb 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE While driving my Hyndua Palisades on the Southern State Parkway at 55mph, my car shut off. When it happened, I didn't know what was going on. All of the lights on the vehicle went off, and then it shut off while I was still driving it. My 11yr old son and I could have been killed. When is Hyundai going to address the significant problem? My son no longer wants to ride in my car because he has been traumatized by this incident, and I cannot blame him. I have avoided driving on major highways because of this issue. I should not be experiencing this problem with a car that isn't even 3yrs old. How isn't anyone stepping in to ensure Hyundai takes care of this LIFE THREATING PROBLEM? What is Hyundai waiting for, someone to lose their life while driving their vehicle? If you are thinking of getting a Hyundai, DONT.

Feb 2023 SERVICE BRAKES My local dealer pulled the 40 amp fuse the vehicle's trailer wiring harness because of NHSTA issue: OMB Control No.: 2127-0004 / Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-633. The fuse was pulled in August 2022 (6 months ago), I received a mailed notification from Hyundai, and then they marked the recall as being complete in their website. To date, I have not received any information from Hyundai about the replacement part and we have not been able to use the vehicle for towing in 6 months. I called Hyundai customer support today, and they still do not know a date when the remedy part will become available. We bought this vehicle for vacations to tow our travel trailer. If this vehicle cannot safely tow a trailer for the foreseeable future, I would like compensation and/or the option to sell the vehicle back to Hyundai. What are my options

Feb 2023 STEERING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL The vehicle accelerated 4 times on its own to the point where i got scared. In addition, it shakes so bad between speeds changes. At first, i thought i got hit by another vehicle from the back. Moreover, over the past two (2) months, the steering wheel has been making some noise as if a plastic bag was being moved. I hope this description makes a sense in regard to the steering wheel situation.

Feb 2023 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE Sudden powertrain failure. Car started to decelerate on its own. The car started to vibrate when accelerator was pressed. Car was in high speed and could have stalled and the passengers could have been killed. Hyundai has refused to honor the powertrain warranty and has attributed the entire transmission failure to bad gas which is very very unlikely. Have contacted Hyundai USA and got no substantial help. Hudson Hyundai is the dealer and is notorious in their treatment of customers. The company needs to issue a recall of 2021 pallisades before a major accident.

Jan 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Driving down I-5 and heard an extremely loud explosion above driver and passenger seats. Upon inspection at home, the sunroof has shattered with a hole directly in the middle of the unit. No debris or vehicles were in front of the vehicle during the incident.

Jan 2023 STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER While driving our Palisade on the freeway, the sunroof exploded without warning. Fortunately, the sunroof was closed and we had the internal compartment closed and no one was behind us on the freeway. So the glass did not enter the vehicle or hit another vehicle. But if the indoor compartment was open then glass would have entered into the vehicle and striking individuals in the car. The shattered glass did do damage to the top of our car (i.e. scratches deep enough to take off the paint completely). Based on online forums, and one law firm’s (based in Connecticut) website, this is a known problem with the Hyundai Palisade. It also appears that the NHTSA is investigating the Kia Sorento for this same problem. Thus, the problem has been replicated in other vehicles and Kia/Hyundai are aware of the problem. Our vehicle has not yet been inspected by anyone (we are taking it to the dealer in the near future). There was no warning that this was going to happen, it just sounded like a gun was being fired in our car.

Nov 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY/WIPER The is no incident yet I am writing to file a complaint as to the extend time that we owners of said vehicle got recall notices and follow up notices, but yet no fix appears to be had in the immediate future. So I have to remove and replace a trailer harness fuse everytime I need to use my hitch to avoid a fire and potentially losing my house since my garage is attached. When paying $50K on a car you should not have to part outside away from you house for this long extended period because the manufacturer can't figure out what the fix is. Also the wiper motor recall-would think this would be an easier fix-yet nothing resolved on that either after several months of notices and waiting. Someone needs to press Hyundai to get on it!!!!!

Nov 2022 SEAT BELTS When locking in the seat belt it will click and lock and a few seconds later will unlock. 4 of the seats are doing this, including the front seats and once the seatbelt pops out, unlocking we are usually driving down the road and its dangerous to try and pull over and get it locked in place again just for it to unlock a few minutes later. . The seat belt appears to be weak and will not stay locked in and will certainly not stay locked in under pressure. Then when it unlocks the bells start going off and it's complete chaos and dangerous when driving to try and deal with that stress, also knowing we are no longer buckled.

Nov 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Driving down the highway at 70 mph, no other vehicles around, we heard exploding glass shatter above us. The sunroof cover was closed, so no glass in the cabin. There was nothing around us nor anything flying in the air that could have hit the sunroof. We stopped as soon as we could safely to look at it and the sunroof glass was shattered in the middle. I had to use Gorilla tape to cover the glass so we could drive the last 2 hours home. My wife had to hold the cover closed for fear it would open and glass fly in to the cabin. Our safety was at risk as the glass could have fallen in. and cut us or flown in our eyes as we were traveling at highway speed. We have an insurance claim, we have contacted Hyundai with photos, and no response from Hyundai at this time. No warning lights or messages were on in the vehicle. We have a repair estimate including glass clean up and new glass installation. We researched and appears that sunroof explosions have happened on Hyundai models, I guess we weren’t the exception.

Sep 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Hyundai claims that this is a "Start-Up" safety feature (meaning that it is designed to re-activate itself every time you start the car, even if you had deactivated the feature), and that there is nothing that they can do about overriding this since it is a manufacturing issue. While I appreciate the notion of Hyundai trying to promote safety, I continue to be very upset by this because the system is way too sensitive and has already on 2 separate occasions, caused the brakes to virtually lock-up involuntarily at freeway speeds on the freeways, even though I was otherwise completely in control of the vehicle and certainly not on the brink of any type of accident prior. I continue to contend that this feature is dangerous and that it certainly could cause an accident. Hyundai should not force their customers to use this dangerous feature in the interest of promoting safety, when it reality, it actually does just the opposite.

Sep 2022 TRAILER HITCHES The contact owns a 2021 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while having a routine oil change and service, the local dealer informed her husband about NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V633000 (Trailer Hitches) and that the remedy was not yet available however, her husband was informed that he could remove the fuse to prevent the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue but provided no additional assistance. Parts distribution disconnect.

Sep 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I started my car using my key fob so the car wouldn’t be as hot when my baby and I got in. I walked to the back passenger side, unlocked the car and put my baby into the car. I then walked around to the driver’s side door and somehow the car was locked even though I had just unlocked it. I had my keys in my hand so I pressed the unlock button. My car would not unlock. I tried all of the doors and tried to lock and unlock my vehicle multiple times. I was about to break a window since my 7 month old was locked inside when I realized maybe the trunk would open. It did and I had to climb through my trunk to get into my vehicle to unlock it. This is exceptionally dangerous as I live in a very hot climate and a child can die in a hot car in minutes. Even though the car was running if you do not get into your car in 10 minutes the car automatically turns off. If someone does not remain calm in that situation they may not think to try the trunk. I have not yet notified the dealer or had the vehicle inspected. I was able to recreate the incident without my child inside. If anyone would like to inspect my vehicle that is fine. This is a deadly accident waiting to happen.
