The contact stated that the 12-Volt battery had been replaced three times, and the taillight bulbs and front headlight low beam bulbs were replaced several times. The contact stated that when the vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer for the electrical failure, the contact was informed that the front differential seal had failed and was allowing water to leak into the differential, causing the differential to rust. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the dashboard and infotainment screen intermittently darkened, and the key fob was inoperable. Additionally, the vehicle failed to shut off as needed. The failure had occurred on several occasions. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that there was an issue with the electrical system; however, the independent mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. It’s a safety feature where it goes as fast as 2nd gear needing service to Electronic throttle body, stop/start system, and electronic stability control.

Nov 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Power Distribution Center/Relay box failure. Contacts in box melted for ASD Relay. Incident occurred while driving on the highway at 65mph. Vehicle without warning had power loss in accelerator, and started downshifting gears. Dash immediately said “park and restart required.” Attempting to start engine, vehicle would crank/no start. After several attempts, vehicle restarted and resumed normal driving until “park and restart required” happened again. After vehicle shut down multiple times on highway, I was able to make it home and diagnose problem. I checked the fuses and relays on the PDC and found ASD relay intact with no burn or scorch marks on contacts. However, the socket is missing contacts within the pdc. I reproduced said problem by moving the ASD relay with vehicle running. There are no warning lamps, messages, or codes to show any kind of failure.

I have had it replaced multiple times and it breaks immediately. This causes the seatbelt to be loose and fall into the crack between the seats. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, there was a dip in the road and the upper ball joint came out of the socket and the tire was pushed under the vehicle. The vehicle slid approximately 100 ft and came to a stop. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake line, both control arms, and the trans axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to another dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake line, lower control arm, and the trans axle needed to be replaced. Nov 2024 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM While driving at highway speed (~65-70 mph), the engine shut off unexpectedly (without any warning/bucking). There were no errors displayed on the dashboard. Center screen stated to place vehicle in park before starting. The multimedia console, AC, all other electronic systems in the cab were operating as normal. The truck did not start back up for some time (10-15 mins). The dealer states that there were no codes present in the vehicle's onboard diagnostic system (OBD) that indicate any issues or that the vehicle stalled. This has happened 3 times in less than a month. The truck has about 76,000 miles. It is a 2020 Ram 1500 with 5.7L V8 HEMI MDS VVT eTorque Engine.

Nov 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My truck has less than 40k miles on it. I bought it with 18k miles. For the 3rd time I am unable to put fuel in the tank without it shutting off the pump or spilling all over. I have looked on the forums and found this is a common issue with this truck. It is very frustrating because the first time the dealership would not look at it for over a month and when I had to take it to another service center they refused to reimburse me. Now this is the third time.

Nov 2024 AIR BAGS The contact owned a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH when a medical emergency was experienced causing him to lose consciousness, as a result, the vehicle drifted off the roadway and crashed into a tree head-on where the vehicle came to a stop. During the impact, the front driver side, front passenger side, and passenger side curtain air bags were deployed however the driver side curtain air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained upper and lower lip cuts that required stitches, 4 bottom teeth were fractured and extracted, 4 ribs on the right side, 1 rib on the left side, and contusion on the left lung that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and determined to be totaled. The dealer was not contacted, and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,300.

Oct 2024 ENGINE Both exhaust manifolds are cracked. There is a bulletin on some 5.7 Hemi but not mine. Both have to be replaced. The vehicle is at Central Florida Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Orlando. The engine was making a ticking noise. Not sure where it was coming from.

Oct 2024 ENGINE Manifold leaking which could affect the components around possibly causing the engine to completely shut down. Is the the dodge dealership now. Apparently there are no recalls at this time. We do have an extended warranty on the vehicle thank goodness. All maintenance is up to date on this vehicle. The vehicle is at the dealership now and parts will not be in until October 24. It is not driveable at this time.

Oct 2024 VISIBILITY/WIPER The drivers side sun visor has failed multiple times. As I am driving it falls out of its housing on the vehicle ceiling and obstructs my vision. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the visor. However, it has failed again and almost caused an accident. I spoke with an individual that works for Ram and was told that this is a repair and complaint that they hear quite often. I believe without a manufacturer recall and replacement that this could cause a severe accident.

Oct 2024 ENGINE Driver and passenger manifolds Have cracked now 3 times on the passenger side and 1 time in the drivers side. Inhale had the last passenger side replaced under warranty and now they will not honor the warranty on the replaced manifold.
