But sometimes when I take my foot off the pedal, the starter grinds unusually long and when the engine does restart the vehicle lunges forward. The vehicle then struck a pole. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy after the initial crash or after striking the pole. | Mar 2023 | STEERING,ENGINE | November of 2022 I took my truck to the lithium dealership in Reno NV for an exhaust leak they reported back to me that they replaced the manifold passenger side. two weeks later exhaust leak returned they informed me that it was a lifter tick and there was no exhaust leak this was at 51,000 miles. The problem got worse I took it back to them twice with both times I'm telling me it was a lifter tick, but I could smell exhaust in the cab of the vehicle. Now that the truck is out of warranty it's 61,000 miles the exhaust leak got so bad I took it to a different dealership where they have found both exhaust manifolds were leaking and now that it's out of warranty the extended warranty has taken over. but with that said now I am without a car because the extended warranty does not cover loaner cars. the manifolds are both on national back order. the sad part about this is the lithium dealership said they replaced the exhaust manifold and they did not according to the Carson dodge dealership the manifolds were never changed. Apparently this is a known problem with these vehicles and the parts are on national back order. I just find it very disgusting that a dealership would kick the can down the road just so they didn't have to replace the exhaust manifolds or give me a rental car while my truck was sitting there so now I have my truck in the dealership with no ETA on when I'll get it back I'm having to rent a car on my own and still make a truck payments. Don't know if this is a common practice with Ram/Chrysler but this is a despicable way to do business. | Mar 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Both driver/passenger side adjustable sun visors broke while driving the vehicle, causing the visor to smack me in the face, and almost veering into another street lane without intention to do so. Now that they are both broken, it is ineffective to use in order to block the sun from blinding the driver while operating the vehicle. This presents a very unsafe driving condition, as they are constantly dropping from the fastening arm. Before I attempt to purchase new replacements, I feel this should be replaced at cost by the manufacturer cause there is intricate wiring inside the arms which have detached from the fastener. | Mar 2023 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The last 3 times I tried to fill my fuel tank the fuel would trickle in to the tank and the pump would shut off. The last time when the tank was finally full, after 10 plus minutes of fueling, the pump did not shut off and gas splashed back at me. It is not the pump because the fill ups were at different gas stations. There has been a Service Tech Bulletin but when I contact RAM they gave me the impression that I would be responsible for the cost of the repairs. Rear window replaced multiple times. rear window leaked this time causing an electrical short draining my battery and cause certain electronic parts of the truck not to work properly. The contact then stated that he noticed that the rear windshield was cracked, and water was leaking through the crack. The vehicle was taken to J Auto Ranch where it was diagnosed that the windshield plastic seal had cracked from the inside and the windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. | Feb 2023 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I was made aware of this recall in October via mail, and since then have tried to make contact with the dealership. I purchased from Carmax and bought the MaxCare warranty, but seeing as this is a recall I took the vehicle to RAM after receiving the recall notice. I told them how this is a serious recall and the fact that there is no remedy was unsafe for me to continue driving. They assured me that RAM was working on it. They offered me the option of purchasing my truck for less than I owed on it and to roll over the remaining balance into a new loan. I declined. On February 3, 2023 I was driving and my vehicle jolted and shut off. Upon starting it up again my check engine light came on. I drove half a mile to a Big O Tires shop to run the code. On a Solis Ultra reader it ran 088 - High Pressure in Fuel Rail. So i took the vehicle straight to the RAM dealership where they offered me the same resolution as last time. I declined and went to Carmax and stated that I am paying for a vehicle that I now cannot drive due to safety and since I have MaxCare that I should be entitled to another vehicle of equitable value since there is currently no remedy. I was told to go back to RAM and talk to manufacturer. I spoke with RAM care and opened a claim and was advised that a remedy is expected in quarter 2 of 2023. After several calls to many different case managers, I was advised that I would have to get a rental out of my own pocket and would hopefully get reimbursed, and that I would have to wait after the weekend to hear anything else. The service rep told me that since there is no remedy currently, the best they can do is look at it and if there are no issues to put the fuel pump back in. This is an unsafe vehicle, and I refuse to continue paying for something that does not work due to the manufacturers fault, nor am I willing to rollover another vehicle loan payment since they are not open to equitable trades. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jan 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | The visor on the driver’s side has had a complete fail which causes the visor to fall down and block the driver’s vision. This is a significant safety hazard as it blocks the driver’s view and it takes two hands to push the visor back up so that it is not blocking the driver’s view. The same thing happened to the passenger side less than a year ago and the dealer had no problem replacing it. For some reason they won't honor fixing the driver side. Even though it is widely known that this is an issue with Ram trucks. The dealer has inspected the vehicle and determined the part is broken but extended warranty told the dealer that I needed to pay for it myself. I don't have an extra $300 to spend on a visor that was made inadequately in the first place. Internet reports suggests this is a widespread problem with the Dodge Ram. Having a malfunctioning component that causes the visor to block the driver’s view poses a significant risk that a driver could be in an accident because he or she cannot see the road ahead and cannot clear the field of view without taking both hands off the steering wheel. There was power in the battery but the engine and dash computer were non functioning.
