Oct 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE ACC system started giving errors, diagnostics ran at Honda pointed to multi function camera. System was quoted for replacement at 1500 this seems to be a big problem across these models. Please investigate.

Oct 2024 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,BACK OVER PREVENTION This is the second time I’ve had to bring my car in. I have a variety of different warning signs popping up and I see that I’m not the only person that this is happened to when I look at Reddit online the malfunction is somewhere within the car system and it’s because of a windshield camera, which has nothing to do with the, warning signs that I am getting on my car. This needs to be recalled and fixed for free.

Oct 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE After any kind of weather event that produces water (rain, morning dew, snow melt), the car battery is dead the next morning. It jump starts the following day and will be drive normal until it sits overnight and the dew settles back in. There has been evidence of water leakage from the rear cargo door and the power door does not function. The only way to open the door is by removing the plastic cover and utilizing the mechanical lever on the inside of the door. The problem is a daily occurrence with dew and other water events. We have not gone to any automated carwashes, strictly handwash the car. No warning lights have been produced.

Sep 2024 STRUCTURE Sliding door stopped operating as a result of "badly torn inner bushings" which required the door motor and control arm to be replaced. This occurred just from normal use of the vehicle. At certain points, the opposite door also began to exhibit the same symptoms as the other. Furthermore, this problem did not just happen overnight, these components should be made part of a normal inspection just like the cabin air filter. Why is that inspected but the bushings of a sliding door are not? Could it be so the manufacturer or service department is hoping for these components to break so that it can gain business and work?

Sep 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Shortly after purchasing my vehicle and replacing the battery, I received multiple dashboard warnings. I took it in to the dealership, and I was advised that the van's multipurpose camera located behind the rear view mirror needed to be replaced. I have researched this issue and this appears to be very common with the Honda Odysseys. The vehicle is less than 48 months old, and it's already an issue? Wondering if this can be logged so that it can be recalled.

Sep 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE It seems our multi-purpose camera is malfunctioning and therefore causing all of the systems to go offline and light up on the dashboard when we turn on the car. It seems the only solution is to replace this. That seems insane that we should have to pay for this if this is a major safety feature of the car and one of the reasons we purchased the vehicle.

Sep 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE September 2024, i bought my car to the dealership to check multiple warning lights showed up on my dashboard. The dealer read the code and determine the multipurpose windshield camera had internal malfunction. The dealer told me that my multipurpose windshield camera need to be replace on my 60k mi 2020 Odyssey EX-L for ~$2.3k in Conshohocken PA. I had many of those sensor lights on (e. g. ACC, lane assist, collision mitigation) and saw many comments on a YouTube video (Honda Odyssey Warning Lights Bonanza Get Ready to PAY). Do my research online; seem like this happened a lot for the Honda Odyssey from year 2017 to year 2020 Hope NHTSA will investigate on this issue. It a very expensive fix for the vehicle barely break in. With all those safety feature disengage/malfunction at the same time, it is a very dangerous issue.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION WHEN I BOUGHT THE VAN USED IN 2023 AT A DEALERSHIP, THEY WERE WORKING ON THE TAILGATE OF THE VAN. THEY STATED IT WAS A FACTORY DEFAULT THAT THE MODULE HAD. THEY DID NOT GO INTO FURTHER DETAIL. I STARTED GETTING A MESSAGE ON THE DASH PANEL THAT THE POWER TAILGATE SYSTEM HAD A PROBLEM. i ALSO GOT MESSAGES STATING THE THEE REVERSE COLLISION SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING, TRANSMISSION SYSTEM HAD PROBLEMS, THE KEYLESS STARTING SYSTEM PROBLEMS. THIS WAS HAPPENING AFTER A RAIN OCCURANCE. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER, THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS. i TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE FOUND WATER IS GETTING THRU THE ROOF RACK RAIL GULLEY, LEAKING DOWN THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE INTERIOR PANEL ON TO THE TAILGATE CONTROL MODULE. i HAVE TO TAKE THE VAN TO A BODY SHOP, SO THEY CAN FIX THE AFFECTED AREA. i HAVE THE PART MY MECHANIC REPLACED. IT IS CLEARLY WATER DAMAGED. THE DAY HE FIXED MY VAN, IT HAD RAINED AND MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN. RIGHT NOW I HAVE THE MODULE HANGING IN THE CARGO AREA, OUTSIDE OF THE INTERIOR PANEL, SO IT DOES NOT GET WET WHEN IT RAINS.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE UNKNOWN. Auto engine idle stop was enabled when the vehicle was at a complete stop. Upon disengaging, the engine stalled and took a couple minutes to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was located in a highway that caused traffic delay and safety concerns. This has happened more than once.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE + What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The front camera, which plays a crucial role in the functioning of the Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Avoidance system, and Auto High Beam, malfunctioned. This camera is integral to these systems. +How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The malfunction of the front camera caused critical systems like LKAS, ACC, Collision Avoidance, and Auto High Beam to operate unpredictably. This compromised vehicle control, leading to unintended lane departures, unsafe following distances, and potential collision risks. The Auto High Beam system also failed to adjust correctly, creating visibility hazards for both myself and other drivers. +Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The issue has been confirmed by a dealer, front camera malfunctioned and need to be replaced for $2000.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My 2020 Honda Odyssey is exhibiting problems with the infotainment system. The system will reboot randomly, disabling all functionality of the rear back-up camera, the audio system, the clock, and all other associated features of the "infotainment" system. The screen will display "NETWORK CONNECTION LOST" and "MOST NET OFF" prior to unprompted reboot. System will reboot continuously following failure. Issue is ongoing for the past few months. This issue is the exact issue covered by the NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V439000. Possibly covered under 20V440000. Other 2020 Honda Odyssey vehicles are covered by this recall, however my VIN was not covered. I called Honda, and was not assisted in the slightest with the issue. I am requesting my VIN be added to the recall list, and/or Honda be penalized for improperly identifying vehicles with the affected issue. As it can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying, this vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM This model has had a recall of the wire being to short and having faulty connections. I have replaced the wires module now 5 times . The last time it got replaced after a couple of months the screen on the car has gone blank and now they tell me the whole computer needs to be replaced. No LCD and no backup screen . This is absolutely ridiculous . Anything that can be done this car seems to be a electrical disaster.

Aug 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Rear door would not open with key fob, button on the dash or the button on the rear door. Then it randomly opened one morning and would not close. Through research I found out there is a problem with water leakage, the vehicle is not properly sealed. Resulting in a damage MICU. I was able to replace the MICU and the rear door works now. I believe this is a safety concern, how can I drive with the door not latching. When I unplugged the MICU water poured out and you can see rust in the fender well where the MICU sits.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The multicamera display unit is defective. It operates several systems and cause multiple warning issues. I believe the design is flawed. In addition to the warnings, both the display for driving information ( speed, rpm, temp, etc.) go blank and the AV unit (radio, entertainment, etc) shuts off too.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE On multiple occasions, after stopping the vehicle (for example at a red light), the engine would stop and not restart. After several minutes of frantically trying to restart the vehicle in dangerous situations (stopped in the middle of traffic and nearly rear ended multiple times), the vehicle would eventually start the engine. Bottom line - when stopping at a stop sign or red light, the vehicle turns off the engine and does not restart properly - placing all occupants in a dangerous situation.

Aug 2024 FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 30,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Started the vehicle on 7/3. Multiple warning lights show on my dashboard: 1. ACC problem 2. Collision Mitigation Problem 3. LKA Problem 4. Auto High Beam Problem I took it to Purrfect Auto (as I had just had work done). They claim it is a software issue (per Honda) and did a reset of the dashboard (I was not charged for this). Problem was fixed. Later that day when I started the car, the warning lights came back. About 4 out of 5 times I start the car, the warning lights return. I had a long road trip (8-hours) a week later. So when I started the car and the warning lights came back, I would turn off the car and open and close the door (to turn off the computer). After I turned off and on the car 3 or 4 more times, the warning lights weren't on, so we started our road trip. This is a safety issue because I am now used to 4 years of Lane Keeping Assistance and Collision Mitigation. For the first time in 4 years, I experienced *3* near collisions with other vehicles due to the failure of these systems. This issue was inspected by the mechanics at Purrfect Auto. There were no other warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to this failure.
