| Sep 2024 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2020 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the contact stated that the vehicle failure was not repaired. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge showed full; however, upon further investigation, the fuel tank was not full. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,847. | Crash: No Fire: No | 10,847 |
| Sep 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | There has been an open recall on the vehicle since 12/13/2023 almost a year I have called and they sent a letter saying parts were in. I went over to the place they do not have the part. They said they have gotten one part per month for 500 vehicles on recall list. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The recall letter states: 'If you believe that American Honda or the dealer has failed or is unable to remedy the defect in your vehicle, without charge and within a reasonable period of time (60 days from the date you first contact the dealer for a repair appointment), you may submit a complaint to the Administrator..... www.safercar.com' I requested a repair appointment using Honda Auto Center of Bellevue Washington's online system. I received an email reply that parts were not then available. More than sixty days have gone by. I am making the complaint as advised by my recall letter. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE | These system indicator lights repeatedly show on the dashboard. 1. Brake System 2. ACC LKAS 3. Land Departure Problem 4. Some Driver Assist Systems Cannot Operate: Clean Front Windshield 5. Lane Keeping Assist Problem LKAS 6. Collision Mitigation System Problem 7. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 8. Auto High-Beam Problem 9. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem I have taken the car to two different Honda dealerships for diagnostic. The mechanic speculated it 'could' be a battery issue so I purchased a new battery. The problems didn't resolve. Then the mechanic stated it 'could' be the camera system and if so, I would need to replace for $1800. I cannot afford to spend $1800 for speculation and there's no guarantee the problem is resolved. This is a serious issue with Hondas as I have read. This is not a wear-tear issue. This is a system issue and I don't feel I should have to spend $1800 on a system malfunction. It's not the windshield containing dirt or debris because I've had the windshield cleaned in hopes it would remedy the problem. The car is only 3-4 years old and I shouldn't be spending major dollars on any kind of system issue. This should be a recall effort since so many others have had the same complaints. The car is too new and it only has 53K miles on it. I'm the only person who drives the car mainly to and from work. I go out of state maybe twice per year so the car is not driven harshly. I also keep current with maintenance requirements. Paying $1800 for a faulty camera speculatively is a cruel way to make money off of purchasers. I'd like to have this issue considered as recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact's husband owns a 2020 Honda HR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Car is less than 4 years old with 35k miles and battery has been replaced twice, battery issue causes car to not start or shut off while driving, after doing research online it appears over 500 other drivers have stated they have the same issue. I'm assuming there must be an issue with wiring etc | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The gauges on the dash will go blank, flash or have unreadable characters at different times. This happened the first time in February and stopped for a while. Now it is happening more often. Sometimes it will start as it is being driven down the road. There is no warning lamp or anything that happens before it malfunctions. Unless we keep track of the fuel level, we run the risk of running out of gas while driving as the fuel level is part of the gauge. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The oil and battery warning lights illuminated. After shutting the vehicle off and turning it over 3 times, the vehicle's engine restarted. 2020 Honda HR-V Touring with 16,900 miles. Manufactured on 1/'20 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 80,000 |
| May 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Dash cluster malfunctions, usually when starting often when the outdoor temperature is cold. The right cluster display is either blank or flickering gibberish. Cannot read my fuel gauge, temperature, mpg etc. Not knowing how much gas I have makes me feel unsafe. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2020 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the right side of the instrument panel was glitching or went blank. Over time, the entire right side of the instrument panel went blank and failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to view the mileage, oil level, or fuel level. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 65,000 |
| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I’m having an issue where the odometer/trip/fuel display is dark when I start the car and then it will flicker on and off with gibberish. Eventually it will display accurately. The other displays are not affected. It seems to be worse in the cold. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Faulty design by honda for sunroof drain tubes. Clogged drain tubes cause water to intrude cabin and get fuse panel wet and inoperperable. Nothing about drain tube maintenace in manual. Honda denied repair stating because of rain. No easy access to clean drain tubes on vehicle. Cost me over $2000 for repairs to be made. Had to replace all fuses and fuse panel. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | 30,000 |
| Feb 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Driving 65 on freeway, power loss and all the lights came on. pulled over and put it in park, dash said i was still in N and i took my foot off brake and it was rolling. I shut car off and waited so i could get to safer place. was able to start up - with all lights flashing. Poor power, "limped" to the closest parking lot - about 1/2 mile. dealer said it was the battery and there were shavings in the transmission fluid. said they would check it again at my next oil change, but it was fine. 5 days later it happened again - same scenario. had it towed to closest dealership - and waiting for diagnosis. they suspect it needs a transmission replacement. they are checking with their "Honda TechLine" | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | This vehicle has some serious acceleration problems. Not only has this vehicle gone into limp mode on me on a very busy city road when it was only a couple of weeks old, but it also takes FOREVER for it to accelerate when pulling into traffic or while going up a hill. I have to press the gas pedal all the way down to the floor and still get nothing until I let up and press the gas again. I have had problems where the car will "spudder" and almost die as I'm exiting the highway coming to a stop and today it actually did completely die as I exited the highway and came to a stop at a red light. No check engine light or anything. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | POWER TRAIN | I was driving the car, pushing on the gas, it would barely move and all dash lights came on, I was able to safely pull over, fortunately | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and completed the recall remedy. The contact stated that a week later the radio would reset independently twice per day and the rear camera screen would be blank. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,800. | Crash: No Fire: No | 46,800 |
| Aug 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES | I was turning left into a parking spot at work with my foot slightly on the break when my engine revvved and my car accelerated at face pace and my brakes were unresponsive causing me to hit a parked truck in front of me. Upon impact my vehicle kept trying to accelerate causing me to keep pushing the truck until my front right side of my car broke off. My car STILL kept accelerating and went across the concrete parking block and finally came to a complete stop. Once stopped I could not get the vehicle to turn off. Within minutes the engine finally died. I work inside a chemical plant right next to a highly explosive unit so this could have been catastrophic. Not to mention the people that work there were coming into work as well and could have been pinned between the two vehicles. The plant I work at has thousands of employees. Had I been leaving work and crossing the highway and this occurred I would have been killed and most likely so would have others. I exit my job onto an extremely busy highway. A police report was not filed because it was inside the plant but several people witnessed it. I had to have my vehicle towed as it was too damaged to drive. I have not contacted Honda because I have seen numerous unresolved complaints so I doubt it would help. Prior to this accident I had no problems with the vehicle. My vehicle is in this shop still as this incident just happened 2 days ago. I would like to get rid of the vehicle but then someone else may buy it and have the same issue. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Sometimes when I am driving on any road flat, incline, up a hill/mountain trying to merge into traffic/pass a vehicle. I think I covered all of the situations. There is a DRAMATIC LOSS OF POWER or a PLAY or SOMETHING where I have to push the accelerator all the way to the FLOOR in order for it to get gas or gain speed to pass or to accomplish the task at hand. My 2020 HR-V only has a little over 17,500 miles. I also only put in gas from QT which is a TOP TIER GASOLINE. So I don’t know what the problem is but I am going to end up having a wreck because of this or worse dying because of this problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | The contact owns a 2020 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed attempting to park the vehicle at park, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated, jumped the curb and crashed into a fence. There were no warning lights illuminated. A police report was filed. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained by the driver or the passenger. There was fire reported. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 3,000 |
| Jul 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I drive my car and if I tap the break just a little bit too hard, because I have to stop quickly or at lest slow down, my breaks locks up and I skid… i’ve never had this before in any car that I have owned. And I have owned Hondas before. I told the dealership in Richmond Indiana and in Tampa Florida about this problem more than once. they both just brushed it off and told me it was normal. I have complained more than once because my brakes have locked up on me more than once. Sometimes, I am doing 35 miles an hour and while approaching a red light… I try to push down on my brakes a little bit and it may lock up. It’s not good… As I’ve said I have a many new cars and I have never had this problem. The consumer stated the car locked up again at 12 miles an hr. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The sun roof exploded. It is available for inspection. Glass was showered into the vehicle as I was driving. I was on a heavy traffic highway- glass was expelled onto the road and vehicles behind me. The car has not yet been inspected by the dealer. Upon initial phone conversation, they advised that I drive the car in to be inspected, but they will not offer a loaner. Then advised I call roadside assistance and have it towed in. They claim no liability or defect in glass. I advised them that I don't feel safe even driving the car even after any possible repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2021 | AIR BAGS | The car went up in smoke, the airbags never deployed and there was no indicators. The front was all smashed in. I’m completely disabled. | Crash: Yes Fire: Yes Towed | Unknown |
| Jul 2021 | AIR BAGS | The car was inspected about 2 weeks prior to the accident. Airbags never deployed nor indicated and the car was smashed in. Electrical problem as I should have seen an indicator and airbags never deploy (wearing seat Belt, neck injury, shoulder and back and bilateral knee injuries)and I am as per dr. Order on medical leave as a result of this auto incident. | Crash: Yes Fire: Yes Injuries: 2 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
