| Sep 2024 | LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES | The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked on several occasions, the front passenger’s side door failed to open as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the door latch actuator had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,560. | Crash: No Fire: No | 1,560 |
| Sep 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I took my truck, a 2020 Ford F150 (manufactured 11/19) to the Ford dealership to fix my AC (apparently a failed compressor) and to look at what could be causing a loud screeching noise from underneath the vehicle which began randomly happening a few months back. The truck had also started to lag when changing gears accompanied by a loud clunking sound. This was especially a concern when merging into traffic since the speed wasn't picking up normally. The dealership said I need a new transmission $8000 and a new AC compressor $1800. FOR A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK!!!!??? I follow all upkeep such as oil changes and tire rotations. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | When the truck is trying to change gears, there would be a long hesitation before it can move up to the next gear while accelerating. The truck would sometimes lose power and speed while trying to find the gear. It would sometimes jump from gear 1 all the way gear 10 and then randomly bounce between the other gears before actually settling. At the moment it does find the right gear, the truck would launch forward violently. I took it to a ford dealership to be diagnosed, where I was told a new transmission is needed. I reached out to the manufacture regarding the issue and was told that there is no assistance for the issue. The quoted cost for the new transmission is $8400.00. I did some research and found that a lot of recent model Ford trucks a having the same problem with the transmission. Most report I read encountered the problem before 100000 miles. The truck is currently at the Ford dealer waiting to repaired. I find this is unfair to consumers to deal with an issue of this expense on what I consider to be a new truck. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear and the vehicle abruptly decelerated. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and turned off the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the powertrain control module, resulting in damages to the transmission. The contact was informed that that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 81,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 81,000 |
| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | My 2020 F150 transmission is having serious issues related to accelerating and decelerating, and rough shifting (causing jerking forward and backwards) which are now a major safety concern. The transmission gets stuck in gear, sometimes shifts from 4th to 1st gear, gets stuck in 7th gear, or will not shift out of 1st gear. Earlier this week with my wife driving the vehicle (with my children in it), it would not accelerate due to this issue and getting on the highway, she had to quickly pull over narrowly being missed by a cargo truck since the vehicle would not accelerate. I took over driving the vehicle, and I've observed the gear changing issues noted above and also had to pull off the road to avoid stalling the vehicle in the middle of a busy road. I've addressed these issues with Ford corporate, and their official position is that I have to have the issues diagnosed with a Ford dealer, which is telling me diagnosis is 8-12 weeks out. I don't know what else to do, but I am very concerned about the safety issues this is presenting | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 35,000 |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES | Cruise control was set at approx. 62 mph driving on the Interstate. An exit was taken and coming down the off ramp the truck would not slow down. It seems the brakes did not disconnect the cruise control. Brakes were both pumped and firmly depressed. No response when the gear shift was placed in a lower gear. The electronic system did not shut off after the ignition was placed in the off position. An inspection is warranted, expected and welcome. This was a Sudden Unintentional Acceleration (SUA) incident/accident!!! Numerous other vehicles were placed in danger while crossing a major intersection. Two fire trucks responding to an emergency were passed at 50 miles an hour. Many other occupied vehicles and individuals at an apartment complex were in danger of being killed or injured. As of right now the vehicle has not been inspected by the insurance claims adjuster, so right now it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center (but is welcomed to be done). The vehicle or components have not yet be inspected by the manufacture, police or insurance representative (but I would be willing to allow it). There was no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It was totally unexpected and a complete surprise. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I have an actuated door lock on the drivers door for electronic locks. It recently started buzzing and not locking when I lock the doors, all of the other locks work fine. This lock buzzes whether I push the button inside the truck, push the lock button on the fob and also when driving about 5 miles per hour. Again, all of the other locks work as they are supposed to. I looked and asked my dealer about a recall on this issue and there is not one. I have a co-worker who had a similar problem with his ford truck that is a few years older and he received a letter from Ford extending his warranty so the part would be replaced at no cost to him. I am requesting the same thing as mine 2020 Ford has the problem currently and even though I can lock it manually when I use the keypad to unlock the doors it does not work either and I feel this is a safety issue and would like it corrected. I have attached a copy of the letter my co-worker received with the program number included for repair. An attempt was made to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher; however, the flames quickly engulfed the vehicle. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed as a result of the fire. One of the contact's employees suffered first and second-degree burns to the face. The employee was taken to a hospital where they were treated for their injury. A police report was not filed. The contact looked underneath the vehicle and saw that transmission fluid was leaking from the transmission. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer who diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: 24-2046 for harsh or delayed transmission shift (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 35,000 |

| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | -10R80 Transmission began malfunctioning at 86,000 miles. Per Ford dealer, the shift strategy was cleared which did not resolve issue. Internal transmission failure was suspected and transmission was replaced. -From a complete stop, the truck would not want to shift from 1st to 2nd gear unless driver let off the gas causing unnecessary risk. From there, truck would shift extremely hard while under acceleration. Additionally, there were instances where truck would not downshift while slowing down to a stoplight. Truck remained in 7th gear at the green light and could only be moved by switching truck to manual shift. -Issue was verified by an independent shop along with a local Ford dealer. -Unsure if the component has been inspected by manufacturer as it was replaced by them. -No engine lights, codes, or other symptoms. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Have the 10 speed transmission and it’s shifting hard and sometimes doesn’t shift till rpm’s hit 4,000 then hit shifts hard like hitting a deep pothole it’s had the transmission relearned but it still does it | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | This happens consistently, while driving with the cruise control, the truck takes off and speeds up almost causing the truck to ram other vehicles. Then the truck shudders and surges before throwing up several codes. I have read this is a problem with many Ford trucks. I feel like our lives are in serious danger . I was hoping there would be a recall because this is leaving customers in situations that may cause injury or death. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Started having rough shifting from 1st to second at 99k miles. Quickly progressed to 3-4-5 gears shifts. Finally couldn’t drive the truck in auto because it was having trouble finding/shifting into gears up to 60mph. I had two instances when driving in 8th gear around 55mph and the transmission randomly shifted to second. Caused the vehicle to lurch violently and over-rev the engine. I had several other instances when traveling above 60mph in 10th gear and the gear indicator flashed between 10th and first gear. Thankfully it didn’t actually downshift. Tried taking it to a dealership near me but they were backed up two months on transmission work. I wound up taking it to a local shop and they rebuilt the transmission. They found the typical c-d-f drum bushing failure that is common in the 10r80 transmissions. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
