Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
May 2022 POWER TRAIN Transmission clunks randomly in various situations that are unpredictable. It will occasionally slam itself into a gear which is obviously creating an unsafe situation, especially when towing. Other times it can't figure out which gear it wants, creating yet more unsafe situations, especially when towing. Fuel mileage is excessive even for a pickup truck. After scanning with BlueDriver, fuel trim numbers are significantly out of range causing excessive fuel consumption and lack of power.

May 2022 ENGINE This safety problem has happened twice in the last 3 months without warning. There are no check engine or service lights on of any kind. I was operating my vehicle on paved city roads driving at normal pace for the conditions. First time this incident happened I was driving approximately 25 mph beginning to scrub speed for a stoplight. Without warning the vehicle shutoff and had no power to anything. The warning on the dash said put vehicle in park to restart. I had to park on a 45mph road with traffic and no shoulder to restart my vehicle. After this first incident I took my vehicle to the dealership and they were unable to find anything wrong. The second time this same incident happened was yesterday 5/4/22. I was turning right at approximately 10-12mph and vehicle shutoff without warning. Lost power to all systems. I had to again park the vehicle on a busy road abruptly to restart, only after having to place vehicle in park. Pending visit to dealership on Monday 5/9/22. Ford has also been contacted and incidents documented.

Apr 2022 ENGINE When at a stop sign, with the auto start stop engaged, I went to accelerate and the engine stalled with the following message of "auto start stop shift to P, then restart engine". This was extremely dangerous and a safety issue that Ford needs to fix. I was in the middle of an intersection and thankful no other vehicles approaching. I had to shift to Park, turn ignition switch off and restart engine. Vary concerning in driving this vehicle anymore!

Apr 2022 POWER TRAIN Right rear axel snapped just at the outside of the axel bearing The vehicle felt like it was shaking for about 4 seconds, at the same time the following warnings appeared, Antilock Brake Fault, Hill Start Assist Warning, Tire Pressure Warning, Hill decent control fault, Pre Collision Assist Not Available. The vehicle was traveling on I-293 left lane at high way speed, cruise control set. The vehicle tilted and made a near 90degree turn to the right heading towards the MerriMack River, Manchester NH. Poor steering control almost zero, brakes failed, shifted auto trans to lowest gear. Aimed for snow wind row to stop or reduce speed. came to rest at the right lane separation zone for ramp @ 6.3 mile marker. Towed to LondonDerry Ford, Londonderry NH Vehicle inspected by State Farm Insurance for body damage unable to see underside damage except snapped axel. Inspected by by Londonderry Ford for underside damage. Vehicle body damage set at an estimated 11,731. Front wall of bed box all rivets snapped. Accident Date 06 Feb. 2022 @ 07:30 vehicle mileage at time 10,672 vehicle date in service 27 Feb 2021 Filed complaint with Ford #CAS35691689 Carrie at Ford Factory claims spec. 8665676518 ext.76792. I inspected the axel at the break point on both halfs, judging from visual inspection and photo enlargement the axel appears to be a poor casting with a discoloration in the center pock marks over aprox. 80% of the face area of the break. The road conditions were dry and clear, straight road, snow plow row to right, traffic light. All lug nuts tight and in place. ** I believe it is note worthy that Ford is taking responsibility by running axel failure through Warranty and body damage through General Council. They refuse to place this in writing, they are also urging that I let them run it through Sate Lemon Law, to me it sounds like they want to hide it. Another exact same failure at AutoFair Ford Manchester NH as of 3/31/2022 sounds fishy to me. ,

Feb 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Ii stopped at a stop sign and the auto stop feature engaged. As I began to pull out the engines started and then stalled. I received an error message in the message center above the steering wheel, it said “AUTO STOP START SHIFT TO P THE RESTART THE ENGINE”. Fortunately it was a secondary road. There was a car coming but I was able to coast to the side of the road, activate my flashers before he arrived. I put the vehicle in park and was able to restart the engine without a problem. It did not happen again.

Jan 2022 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I was driving down the highway when my engine starting shaking so bad I could barely control the steering. I managed to get to the side of the road, and even in park the whole truck was shaking. Had to call a tow truck (cost $100) to take it to nearest Ford dealer. Rodents had chewed through wiring to fuel injectors and knock sensor ($1400). This was the second incident of rodent damage on the wiring of this truck. Mechanic said the soy-based wire coating Ford is using is irresistible to rodents. Insurance company said rodent damage claims on the vehicles using this type of wire coating are 59x higher than on other vehicles. This is a safety concern because of things like happened to me! I could have very possibly wrecked due to this shaking that was so violent. The other event caused my locking system to malfunction. I could have been locked in my vehicle! This is unacceptable. My previous vehicle (Jeep) was parked in the exact same location daily and never had a rodent damage incident. Ford needs to address this!!

Jan 2022 STRUCTURE,LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES On 1/23/22, my passenger front door latch became frozen and will not open. I understand that this problem has been reported on similar vehicles, but the "fix" if installed does not solve the problem. The current outside temperature is 4 degrees Fahrenheit. All the remaining doors are functioning as they should, but my concern is that it will repeat or worse, not close/latch properly.

Jan 2022 POWER TRAIN This appears to be a possible PCM relay failure or electrical system malfunction . This seems to be a documented issue out there on various websites and forums. I was with my wife and son when the vehicle started running extremely rough and lost nearly all power on a busy roadway. This caused a very dangerous situation for my family in attempting to get the vehicle off the main roadway. Multiple dash lights came on and the system advised of "park brake limited service required", "Hill assist not available" and "drive modes not available". After getting the vehicle off the roadway and parked, the vehicle stalled and would not start or run. I have not taken this to the dealer yet to determine the issue.

Jan 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER rear window spontaneously burst without impact as i was driving down the freeway. scared the crap out of me and got glass all over the cab. This is a relatively new truck. The dealer I bought it at said they couldnt look at it until Feburary as they are so backed up and even then theres not much they could do about it. They were not at all willing to help.

Jan 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER 4 times this has happened while on the road in traffic: the truck when slowing down around 20mph will shut off and an error message appears on the dash cluster saying "auto startstop shift to p, then restart engine". This put me in major risk of being rear-ended each time as I do not have the ability sometimes to pull off to the side of the road to shift the vehicle into park and restart the engine. Already took it to the ford dealership once and they said that they could not replicate the same condition.

Jan 2022 POWER TRAIN Every time I drive on the highway at speeds over 45+ mph and a load is on the engine and boost is 5+ psi, the truck shudders and shakes like an engine miss. I took it to the dealership 3 times for this and each time they say it is the transmission and it is "normal". Something is seriously wrong with it. It feels like the engine is going to let loose.

Dec 2021 POWER TRAIN When manually shifting between gears the shifting is a very sudden jolt which results in startling the driver as well as all passengers. This also happens during simple driving around town while doing no manual shifting. Often times there is a delay in acceleration. This is not normal shifting.
