| Oct 2023 | STRUCTURE | The driver's side door is making noise upon opening and closing. It is also getting progressively more difficult to get it to close securely. The Ford dealership took pictures and submitted the issue to Ford but today, October 18, 2023, Ford has refused to cover the cost to repair the door. Info sent to Ford is attached. I purchased this new 2020 Ford Escape on March 31, 2021. It has not been in any type of accident. I couldn't believe the door was defective so I googled it and found many articles on the potential recall due to the incorrect spot welds in the door. I went to the dealer and was told that unless there is a recall, chances are this won't be covered because I have 50,000 miles on the odometer. I drive to Florida, and make lots of long highway trips in my retirement so these are mainly highway miles. I'd like to take the car again to Florida in January with my wife, daughter and two grandchildren but I can't do that with the door like it is. I'd like your office to call Bill Brown Ford in Livonia, Michigan, where we purchased the car or Ford Motor Company and encourage them to stand behind their product and provide the cost of this repair. I am, frankly, amazed that they are not going to make this problem right since it is the result of their faulty workmanship. Please look into this for me. Thank you. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
