Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Jun 2025 POWER TRAIN The transmission quit as my wife pulled into her works parking lot. No one other than the ford dealer has looked at the vehicle. There were no warnings or indications that anything was wrong.
Incident: Jun 2025
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jun 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE My Ford Edge only has a little over 37,000 miles on it, it’s an 2020 model. Electronic throttle body went out. The car lost all power, when trying to mash the gas peddle , the power was decreasing, the engine was missing and running extremely ruff.I barely was able to get off to the side of the interstate safely. The brakes went out , my car issued 7 different power failures involving powertrain, restraints, anti-lock system , hill start, pre-collision , 2 repeated the same warning. These warnings only came on after the car lost power, not before. I had to have it towed. Since I have AAA, I had them tow it to their repair shop since it was only a few miles from where I was stranded. They replaced the throttle assembly. I tried to find out if there was a recall , no recall, but there has been class action suits against Ford for this same reason.

Jun 2025 POWER TRAIN Torque converter is malfunctioning and it was diagnosed by a Ford dealership
Incident: May 2025
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jun 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER,BACK OVER PREVENTION The rear view camera glitches and the display is either blacked out or scattered. The motion sensor does not always work when this happens. I was not aware of an on coming car while backing up causing a safety risk. The screen will start glitching and become distorted while I am already backing up, making it hard to know where the objects are. There are not any warning lights to indicate a problem. I brought the car to the service center at the dealership from where I purchased it, They said I would have to pay for a new camera. I did not do that because there is a recall in the 2021 model and other Ford vehicles for the same issue .
Incident: Apr 2025

Jun 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Transmission needs to be replaced at 60k miles. This issue seems to be encountered way too often with this vehicle.
Incident: Aug 2024
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
May 2025 POWER TRAIN Car jerks when switching gears most of the time. Mostly noticed between 2nd & 3rd AND 3rd & 4th gears. If I am very gentle with the gas pedal, the jerk is very minor and sometimes unnoticeable. At constant speeds, the RPM spikes on its own without me hitting the gas pedal. To confirm this, I drove the car on the highway multiple times with cruise control set to 60 MPH. RPM will be slightly over 2x1000 for most of the time but periodically spikes 50-100 RPM over this constant mark.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN This car doesn’t even have 100k on it and the transmission shutters really bad. No recall but this is very dangerous as it doesn’t allow you to accelerate when needed.
Incident: May 2024

May 2025 POWER TRAIN This is an update to incident [XXX] After failure of the torque converter I replaced the transmission in November 2023. Over time the symptoms of jerking and power issues came back. Had a transmission relearn completed. Issues came back again over time. Took vehicle to ford dealer (DORSCH) and diagnosed as TPS sensor failure. I did notice over winter that the issue was less in below 40 degrees weather. I assumed at that point it was electronic rather than a mechanical failure. Sensor is being replaced at this moment. May 2025 POWER TRAIN I own a vehicle [XXX] ford edge, and ford service informed my transmission about to fail due to torque converter etc. which matches a recall in 2020 ford edge only limited to certain number of cars seems to be effected according to their program, however all information from service department matches to the issue other vin numbers experienced. I have asked them to include this vin number to effected cars in that recalls based on evidence for ford edge 2020 and they don’t take responsibility for it even though it matches to recall as a vehicle at 80.000 miles. I’m informed by ford, manufacturer may have used based on location a different part than original what is that even mean? I claim that my vehicle’s transmission is affected by their failure and following the path of failing even though not yet failed, but symptoms of there and happening. So following the path of how they explained in their recall list of cars’ fate with transmission. And my vehicle must be considered and added on that list to my best knowledge and safety concern as a moving vehicle that’s transmission can fail any minute while driving related to FORD’s technical, mechanical errors. There might be many 2020 ford edges out there driving with the same issues while occupied with passengers and driving on highway just waiting for their poor transmission to act up goofy to cause incident. I see this is a danger on traffic and reporting it. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

May 2025 POWER TRAIN When we first noticed symptoms we brought it to our local dealership. They diagnosed it with a faulty torque converter. The vehicle displays hesitation, jerkiness and stuttering when accelerating. It makes drive in poor conditions more challenging and daily driving when accelerating onto highways and interstates. Lane changes and other general maneuvers when accelerating. The condition was recreated by North Country ford in Coon Rapids, MN. We are continuing to get 2nd and 3rd opinions so that we can find a permanent solution. There has been no further inspections besides service shops and local the dealership. There were no service lamps or warning lights. The physical jerkiness and hesitation when accelerating was the main sign. Forums and automotive pages alerted us to many other drivers experiencing similar issues. The problem first arose around 1-2 months ago. Possibly the end of February to beginning of April 2025.
