| Date | Component | Summary | Severity | Mileage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mar 2024 | ENGINE | The vehicle began to go up and down in revolutions per minute (RPM) while at a traffic light or stop sign. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Driving up a slight grade, vehicle shuddered and then felt like it popped out of gear. Would not engage in any gear and now I am unable the shift into park or any other gear | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2024 | ENGINE | Coolant bypass valve failed prior to car driving 50,000, confirmed by dealership. Failure can cause electrical issues. Car indicated engine maintenance required | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2023 | POWER TRAIN | I purchased my 2019 corolla hatch manual new. Before even 9000 miles I started having transmission issues. I could not shift into first when the car was cold. It was like hitting a wall. I had to cycle through all the other gears before it would go back into first. I took it to Toyota. They were unable to replicate the issue. It happened so sporadically I asked the technician what would happen if I had transmission issues in the future since they were unable to witness the problem. He assured me that the issues were documented, and it would not be a problem at all. Now at 30000 I am having serious issues. The clutch is engaging late, it is chattering in first and second and there are metallic fragments in my transmission fluid. The entire transmission and clutch assembly is going to have to be replaced. Toyota is stating that it will probably not be covered by my warranty because the clutch is a wear item. I've driven a manual for decades. I've put over 100000 miles on a Toyota clutch I previously owned that still worked perfectly when I sold it. This issue is not a driver caused issue. The 2019 is notorious for transmission and clutch issues if you search any kind of forums. The automatic transmission was recalled; however, the manual owners are just up creek without a paddle because Toyota can claim it's all a wear issue caused by the driver. I have not received a decision from the warranty department yet, but I am pretty sure it is not going to be covered by the warranty. A car should not have transmission/clutch issues prior to 9000 miles and be at the owner's expense especially if it is documented. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | CVT TRANSMISSION is hesitating after first gear, going over 40mph and going up hills. I was told by Toyota that it would cost $8,200 to fix/REPLACE. The car has 125,000 miles on it. THAT Shouldn't happen. Since the Corolla Hatchbacks were recalled that year, why weren't ALL of the corollas recalled. Reading on-line, I see I am not alone. This is wrong. And I still have about $2K owed on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Vehicle has a bank to lean 1 engine code and when at idle, fluctuates from 700 rpm down below 500 RPM and shakes the car. The vehicle has stalled twice on me while stopped at a stop light. I understand the vehicle has had two recalls for the same issue and it has not fixed the problem yet. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | TIRES | On August 28, 2023, I purchased two Yokohama Avid Ascend LX BW tires, size 205/55R16. I was charged $209.19 for each tire, plus another $129.95 for a 4-wheel alignment. The total for the two tires and alignment was $549.16. I had these tires for a little over one month before this incident. On October 4, 2023, after driving about eight miles on the freeway at around 60 to 65 mph, I pulled off the freeway to buy gas. When I started to leave the gas station, I noticed my tire warning light was on. I got out of the car and noticed the left rear tire was low and going flat. I drove home (less than one mile) and called a towing service. The towing service did not arrive. So I sprayed canned air in the tire and drove to the tire shop. The tire shop person said the tire was not repairable and showed me a large hole in the tire tread with what looked like fraying around the hole. The person said he could not tell what caused the flat but suggested it may have been aggravated by heat. It was about 95 degrees outside. They put the spare on my car. I called the dealership where I bought the tire, and they said to take it to an affiliated dealership, which I did the following day. That dealership person took pictures of the tire but did not know what caused the flat. They said they would have to order a replacement tire, which did not arrive until October 6, 2023. They charged me another $36.16 to install the replacement. For the large price charged, these tires should have been durable, reliable, and trouble free. My efforts to contact Yokohama were returned “undeliverable.” I am concerned about the safety and reliability of these expensive tires. If these tires are affected by heat, they should not be sold in the western United States where the climate is often hot in the summer and fall months. Anyone selling such tires should issue a warning if they are affected by heat. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Phone charging cord is prone to getting pulled into the steering column and extremely difficult to remove. | Aug 2023 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Toyota didn't install new fuel pump in my car. I set it up to be done when I had the air bags done. They did the air bags but never did the fuel pump recall. I've been fighting with them ever since. Now my fuel pump is going out. My car stalls when I put any amount of gas in it. I'm afraid it will stall while I'm driving which is why there is a recall on the part. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

Took it to dealer next day. Cars almost ran into the back of me! I had just turned on the street from I-85! So far it hasn’t been reproduced at dealer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

While driving with the cruise control on the rpms begin to jump to 5000 all on it's own but the car isn't speeding up when it happens. I know it's wearing the engine down every time it happens. It happens when I'm driving on flat freeways as well as when driving down hills. The dealership dismissed what I was telling them, but I know there's something not functioning properly and would like it further looked into. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Oct 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES | Our 19 Corrolla failed to start after a long drive. After recall repairs for airbags and fuel pump diagnostics were completed at the J. Allen Toyota Dealership in Gulfport, MS, the technicians found the issue to be the Hydraulic Brake Booster Pump: Internal Module Circuit Failure. Codes P1585 and P1586 are for reference. That subsequently blew the injection 1 and 2 fuses. The technician there told us that three other vehicles had the same issue and problems. This incident, fortunately, occurred at a relative's house and not on the roadway which could possibly result in a brake or engine failure that may cause injuries. There were no warning lights previous to or during this incident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
