Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Mar 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION Backup camera shows distorted colors and no longer usable to identify objects in the rear of the vehicle. Additionally all backup sensors no longer activated when objects are behind the vehicle. Since there are massive blind spots behind the vehicle this is an accident waiting to happen. This was observed by dealership and recommended that the camera be replaced at owner expense. Still pending fix due to cost. This appears to be a common problem with 2019 Honda Pilot models.

Mar 2025 FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE), and the vehicle was taken to be repaired under the recall. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The battery, Emissions, and 4WD warning lights were intermittently illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the dealer informed the contact that a diagnostic test was needed. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone and the contact was informed that the failure was related to the former recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

Feb 2025 ENGINE 2 weeks ago, my car stalled as I was driving down the highway and attempting to pass another vehicle. I was going around 45 mph, the engine stalled, the speed dropped down to about 33 and would not let me accelerate. There was not a warning light. Fortunately, there was not a car to my left so I was able to pull over. I turned the car off and it restarted. I took it to the shop a few days later and sat there for 5 hours while they ran diagnostics. They could not get the car to replicate nor did a code come on so they asked me if I could leave it. I left it for a few days and they still could not get the diagnostic code to come on nor could they get it to replicate. They did not have a rental or I would have left it longer. I will continue to call them to see if they have a rental so I can leave it longer.

Feb 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE At random times, but seemingly becoming a more frequent occurence, when the stop/start system engages & shuts the vehicle down at idle (at a stop light for example), the vehicle will not restart for a period of time afterwards. This has also happened on the highway multiple times in traffic in which the vehicle will not start for a short period of time. This is a big safety issue and I was almost rear-ended a couple of times in those highway cases. When the problem happens, the lighting on the meter (indicator lights) will randomly flash & the clicking sound from the blinker will continuously go on/off during the timeframe of when the vehicle will not restart. I've raised this concern to Honda multiple times with no support coming back from them since they can't re-create the issue.

Feb 2025 STRUCTURE I own three Honda vehicles. All of them have paint issues. This 2019 Honda Pilot is having paint peeling off of the rear hatch and other areas of the body. No physical damage has happened to these areas and the paint peeling is not a result of any mechanical force. The paint itself is chipping off of its own accord.

Feb 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE I am experiencing two ongoing issues with my vehicle that have not been resolved despite recent recall repairs (fuel pump and hood striker). 1. Acceleration Stutter Issue When accelerating, the car shakes/stutters before finally picking up speed. I initially thought the fuel pump recall repair would fix this, but the problem persists. This affects vehicle performance and safety, especially when merging into traffic or crossing intersections. 2. Electrical / Computer System Malfunctions All Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) malfunction and display error messages onscreen, preventing these systems from functioning. Since both issues persist and could pose safety risks, I am reporting this as a potential defect for further investigation. Since these issues are not detailed for my vehicle, but do seem to be occurring I other models, I don't think it's right for me to have to payout of pocket to fix it when other models with the same issue get covered.

The vehicle was difficult to restart. The battery was drained and became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic who determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Feb 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE I got in my vehicle about a month ago to a lot of blinking lights. I immediately took my vehicle to Davenport Honda in Rocky Mount, NC, who stated I had a misfire and it would be over $1000 to fix the problem. Approximately a month later, a few more blinking lights came on. It was the lane departure, automatic high beam and collision lights. I took my vehicle back to the dealership that stated it is an internal failure and now the entire camera will need to be replace quoting me another $1000 job. I currently have a crack in my windshield and cannot get it replace due to this internal failure. I have read several comments about this internal failure leading to believe me this should be a recall. I don't have $4000 to $5000 to put into a vehicle every 2 to 3 months.

Jan 2025 BACK OVER PREVENTION The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the backover prevention camera failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the back-over prevention screen displayed a multi-color screen. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

Jan 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Multiple warning lights and alarms sounding after starting the engine: Collision Mitigation System Problem. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem. Lane Keeping Assist Problem. Auto High Beam Braking System Error. When these warning lights are on, the vehicle continues to drive and brake as if these features were not installed. HOWEVER, since the "Brake System Error" light is now always illuminated, there is no longer an on dash warning to indicate an actual problem with the braking system. This began in August of 2024 as a single episode. It escalated to intermittent occurrences. It now happens every time. Malfunctioning braking and lane minding systems pose obvious danger to passengers. Problem was noted by Virginia State Vehicle Inspection station.

Jan 2025 FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the pedal vibrated, the engine revved up, and then suddenly emit a lower vibrating noise as if the RPMs had dropped. The main communication screen displayed several safety features like the crash avoidance and the back-over prevention camera were malfunctioning intermittently. The warning of low brake fluid was illuminated despite brake fluid level been at the normal range. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available even though the remedy stated that due to a limited supply of parts, the manufacturer was prioritizing the repair of vehicles experiencing failures, such as difficulty starting, engine hesitation while driving, or an illuminated check engine light. The contact spoke with a second dealer, AutoNation Honda Hollywood (2400 N State Rd 7, Hollywood, FL 33021); who confirmed the same information. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.

Jan 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM We purchased our 2019 Honda Pilot in the summer of 2020 and a few years later, we started getting issues with the car where it would have issues propelling smoothly between 1-2 RPMs, then we got the recall notice around January of 2024 re. the fuel pump, which i believe was the cause of our symptoms. the reason i say that is because we had 2 mechanics look at the car, and did not find anything wrong (we had changed out the spark plugs believing that was the issue and the symptoms did not go away; we had a transmission fluid flush and the symptoms did not go away. We have been concerned about the car for years, and when the recall came out, we kept calling to ask for them to repair the car and we kept getting told they did not have the parts (first it was they parts would be in around spring time, then they started saying summer, then they started saying fall, then late fall). I went into the recall notice on nhtsa and saw that it said something about if you were experiencing symptoms due to the recall, to call Honda and they should repair the vehicle. When i called Honda, i was told that unless the car completely failed and did not start, only t hen would they fix the vehicle. I felt that this was unsafe and concerned that the fuel pump would completely fail while being driven, so we had to unfortunately sell the vehicle due to the concerned safety issues Honda was not repairing. I loved the car other than for this issue so was very unhappy to have to resort to that as a solution. Honda should be held accountable for their failure to act for over 10 months to do something re. this matter.

Jan 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Fuel injector is causing AWD error. No longer able to use the auto start on vehicle. Sometimes vehicle will not start. Unsure if that was due to the fuel pump recall either. Fuel pump has been replaced. Check engine light is still on and last time we had it checked it was due to fuel injector. The fuel injector was part of a recall for the year and model of our car but Was told our VIN was not part of the recall.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION My Honda Pilot has a previous recall for the infotainment system. Recall # 20V439000 or Honda recall # T89. I purchased this vehicle used in June 2024 with the knowledge this recall had been repaired. After driving the vehicle for a short time, the infotainment system started having an issue again. We have taken the vehicle to the dealership 3 more times to get this corrected, but it is still an ongoing issue. This infotainment system recall impacts instrument panel control module software which makes this a safety issue. I am submitting this form to create a formal complaint for lack of repair after multiple attempts on a recall.
