Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN,BACK OVER PREVENTION we were driving on the freeway when the car it stalled and place itself in neutral. we were unable to put it in park or drive. so we started googling while we were also trying to get a tow truck and we just decided to turn off the car and turn it back on and hoping for the best and we were able to put it back in drive and safely drive home definitely there’s a problem with the transmission or something electronical.

Aug 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE I had 5 warnings appeared in the dashboard : -Adaptive cruise control problem -Lane keeping assist problem -Collision mitigation system problem -road departure mitigation system problem -Auto high-beam problem and the Amber Brake system light came on permanently Searched the problem on Google and Reddit found many Honda Odyssey owners having the same problem which is a safety issue some people took their vehicle to the dealership and have been told that the windshield camera is causing these warnings to appear because the camera is overheated by the sun, and the manufacturer did not make the camera well ventilated to dissipate heat caused by sun light

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM While accelerating from a complete stop at a red light, immediately after refueling, the vehicle suddenly lost all propulsion power and forced itself into Neutral without any driver input. The dashboard lit up with numerous system warnings at once, including: •Emissions System Problem •Brake System Problem •ABS Problem •Brake Hold System Problem •Electric Parking Brake Problem •Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem The engine won't start, leaving me stranded in the middle of an active intersection. I attempted to restart the vehicle multiple times with no success. Police responded to the scene, confirmed the vehicle could not be driven, and a tow truck transported it to a nearby Honda dealership. The tow truck driver suspected an alternator failure, but the dealer’s inspection the next day could not reproduce the issue. They reported that the alternator and battery “tested fine” and that no trouble codes were stored in the ECU. No repairs were performed, and no cause was identified. Safety Concern: This incident created an immediate traffic hazard. The vehicle’s sudden loss of propulsion in traffic, combined with the inability to restart, could easily have caused a collision. Multiple critical systems were reported as failed simultaneously, indicating a possible electrical, fuel system, or control module failure. I am aware of similar complaints from other 2018–2019 Honda Odyssey owners in which sudden power loss occurred, often accompanied by numerous system fault messages. Many reports link these events to fuel pump failures, loose battery/ground connections, or transmission control malfunctions. This suggests a broader pattern of intermittent safety-related defects. Requested Action: Please investigate this incident and similar cases for potential design or component defects. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Aug 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER My foward facing multipurpose camera quit work causing all my ADAS systems to suddenly stop working. While researching the issue i found alot of people are having this issue per the honda odyssey online forums. And staff at the local honda dealer that repaired system for over 2500.00 stated that he has seen an increase in this issue with the camera system. My car was no longer cover under warranty and the extended warranty i purchased refused to cover said repair. Just thought maybe honda has a issue with the camera and maybe should find a fix and do a recall before this failure causes an accident.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Sometimes the door locks will not lock, an obvious safety issue. I'm certain all the doors are closed and contacts are clean. I'm guessing a flakey relay because it doesn't happen a lot, perhaps 8 times in the past 12 months. I reported it to Honda America but they said the dealer has to verify it and the dealer has been unable to reproduce it.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM While driving, infotainment screen went black and audio died. Restarting car did not solve the problem. Dealer pulled and reinstalled a fuse which "fixed" the problem but said it was a known problem and could recur. It has been several years since it has happened but I figured I'd report it since some car settings are only available through the infotainment system.

Aug 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My 2019 Honda Odyssey is experiencing significant fuel system issues that match the symptoms described in NHTSA Recall 21V-215 (Honda fuel pump recall), but my VIN is not currently included. I’ve had repeated problems with: – Engine stalling – Long crank/hard starting – Multiple warning lights – A diagnostic trouble code: P0087 – Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low These issues present a serious safety risk—the vehicle has stalled during driving, including with children in the car. Honda dealers say my VIN is not eligible for recall, but the symptoms align exactly with recalled vehicles. I’m filing this complaint in hopes that NHTSA will investigate potential undercoverage of this recall campaign. My family’s safety is at stake.

Jul 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,LANE DEPARTURE Was Driving on my way to work and I heard a sharp sound while going up a hill. I then got warnings that said transmission issue, pull over immediately when safe and the car shifted itself into neutral. I was in the middle of traffic and lost all acceleration controls, while being forced out of the drive gear. I lost all speed and had to move through traffic and get to a side street. The same thing happened to me about a year and a half ago. It was covered by a warranty but I still was experiencing losses of car power or stalling.

Jul 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Not sure if this is the right complaint form, but we attempted to have a service center address 2 recalls on our vehicle and they would not perform them and would not provide a reason why the recalls were not addressed. The service center is AutoNation Honda in Westminster CO [XXX] ). We dropped our vehicle off on 7/24 for an oil change and to address the recalls. They said the work was complete on Monday 7/28 but would not provide an invoice of work completed. I've attempted to contact the service center by text and phone calls and they are not responsive. I contacted corporate Honda and they confirmed that the recalls have not been addressed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Jul 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I hit drive automatic transmission 2019 Honda odyssey and my van will only shift to second gear. I have noticed on my dashboard at this occurrence it shows a capital S which I believe it indicates second gear. The van stays in second and does not shift to third gear. Jul 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE The multipurpose camera has an internal failure at 105 thousand miles. This controls the automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and more. This safety features such as emergency braking, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning are important safety features. All of these features help drivers avoid collisions by acting to correct or avoid collisions or accidents faster or earlier than drivers can react. The Honda dealership service department has confirmed that the multipurpose camera had an internal failure, but did not provide a reason and there was no inciting incident during driving or ownership that caused this. The Honda dealership service department has been inspected and diagnosed that the multipurpose camera had an internal failure. No, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. They only appeared after the failure, and the failure happened without warning. The failure first appeared on July 7th, 2025.

Jul 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE After two months of sitting outside in the Arizona Sun, the transmission was replaced on my 2019 Honda Odyssey. A day after picking it up all of the sensors came on. I have been informed that it’s an internal failure with the ADAS camera that’s housed in the windshield. After a brief web search, this seems to be a common issue related to electrical issues with the car. Since the electrical was connected and disconnected during the transmission replacement begs to reason that there was something faulty about this camera that didn’t make its way through the reset.

Jul 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Emissions recall work was completed on the vehicle but the vehicle continues to exhibit "start" issues. The gas pedal can be depressed and a large delay can be experienced in the vehicle responding to the pedal causing the risk of injury and accident. The vehicle was taken to the shop and error code 219 A/B was the problem meaning fuel injectors not working properly and my particular VIN was not under those covered for replacement. Multiple warning lights associated with this problem including Emissions System Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist problem, Power Steering Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Brake Assist Problem. The vehicle had about 95,000 miles when these warnings started.

Jul 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that whenever it rained, water was leaking into the vehicle and caused the rear door circuit board and power module to short circuit. The contact stated that the rear door was inoperable. The contact stated that the failure was an ongoing issue which started a year after purchasing the vehicle new. The contact stated that whenever it rained the rear door failed to function normally. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer several times and the dealer was unable to duplicate or determine the cause of the failure. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same dealer for the recent failure. The dealer diagnosed that water had entered the vehicle from the roof and had accumulated in the rear door near the electrical circuits. The dealer determined that the rear door power module and circuit board needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

Jul 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE While driving on the interstate (60-70 mph) in very light traffic (2 cars in view), there was a beep from the consol and the following errors flashed: Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance Warning. At the same time as the beep the car felt like the breaks were being slammed on for 2 second. There was no car within 30 feet of us. and we went from ~70 mph to 40. This startled us. Ever sense then the errors would randomly come on and the vehicle will break suddenly, leading to very unsafe moments.

Jul 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE Upon coming to a complete stop on the freeway, the idle engine feature stopped the engine. Upon letting go of the gas, the engine wouldn't restart and the electrical systems in the car malfunctioned showing a restart of the car would be needed. After trying to restart the car, the engine wouldn't turn over. After pushing the off button and starting the car again, it finally restarted. This created a hazardous situation as there was the potential for the car behind us to rear end us since we were at a complete stop on the freeway. After the software update, this happened again at a right turn on a local street.
