| Jun 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | 8/10 times when turning on and driving the vehicle, an error pops up on the dash indicating the LKAS and ACC no longer work. The failure mileage was approximately 87,395. | Crash: No Fire: No | 87,395 |
| Jun 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Rear hatch door does not open high enough for normal height people. Men who load things keep bashing their heads. My husband is 5’10” and he almost got knocked out. This needs to be addressed. Honda said to take it in but the dealer said no repair possible. That also makes my car worth less as I can’t sell it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | 5 warning shows up. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Vehicle jerks at about 25mph when it’s idled in 1-2rpm. Sometime at acceleration and won’t move up rpm. Vehicle got fuel injectors and transmission fluid replaced and still have issues. Vehicle in shop now with less then 2,000k before power train warranty up even though I’ve been dealing with it for over a year. Dealer said transmission fluid was down quart 4 months after they changed the transmission fluid. They were able to replicate jerk but couldn’t replicate sound of something clicking over while idle. I have it on video. I think since Honda never fixed the issue in the first place it caused additional damage and all the want to do is add more fluid and call it a day. | Crash: No Fire: No | 58,277 |
| Jun 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | 2019 Honda Odyssey - the power tailgate stopped working. First I saw a tailgate malfunction warning in the dashboard. I pulled over to make sure the tailgate was closed all the way. It opened and closed. By the time I got home, it couldn’t open or close at all. I called two local dealers and they seemed hesitant to work on it. The only way to open the tailgate is with the manual emergency latch. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | When I start the vehicle, I consistently get warnings for ACC problem, Lake Keep Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation Problem, Road Departure Mitigation problem, and Auto High Beam Problem. This occurs every time I have driven the vehicle for the past week. From cursory research, this issue commonly appears to be related to a failure of the camera module located next to the rearview mirror. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | ENGINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the contact heard a ticking sound coming from the engine compartment. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rod bearings had failed, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 103,000 |
| Jun 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Turned on the car the other day and several warnings displayed on the odometer. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem Lake Keeping Assist Problem Collision Mitigation Problem Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Auto High-Beam Problem Other than cruise controls not working, the car works fine. I took it to the dealer, and they said the camera module behind the rear view mirror needs to be replaced. Technician claimed that because my cruise control button was left on, it kept the camera running, and basically overheated the camera to a fault. He mentioned recommending to router owners that they only turn on the cruise control button when they plan to use it, and to leave it off if not. I asked if turning the cruise control button when not in use was referenced in the owner’s manual, but he was unsure. I would have to double check, but I don’t believe that warning is there. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Power Tailgate failure. The power tailgate no longer opens and closes. There seems to be no cause for this. I have read, however, on several forums that this is a manufacturing defect and that rainwater is getting through the seal to damage the control motor. I cannot open the tailgate from outside the vehicle. This is a safety concern. There were no warnings leading up to this. I called my local Honda dealer to find out if there were any safety recalls, but there were none. I think there should be--this vehicle is only 6 years old. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The Brake System warning light is on. With this, it is showing 5 different issue messages when the car is running. I've taken to the dealer and they are saying there is an issue with the multipurpose front camera. My car is on 39,900 miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | AIR BAGS | Well driving on the highway in CT. I hit a pot hole and the drive side curtain airbags deployed. There was no accident, but my kids were freaked out. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | At restaurant on 6/1/25, backed out of parking spot. Drove about 30 ft to parking lot exit. Turned onto side street to go to light and turn on main street. About 3 or 4 car lengths from exit to light. Side street sloped down about 20-30 degrees. Brakes would not stop van. Not sure if brakes slowed down van as going slow. However, brake pedal pushed hard down to floor but did not stop van. If hit gas pedal van would have accelerated and engine raced causing acceleration and more damage. No damage to back of vehicle I hit. Very minor damage to my van. Tried yesterday and today to replicate (in isolated locations and with no other vehicle near) the van’s conditions at time of incident. I will be contacting dealer. There is no recall. Do not know if anyone else had this problem or if dealer can find any issue. Notifying NHTSA to advise of this potential systemic issue. I’ll follow up with results of interaction with dealer. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ENGINE | Nothing has happened yet, but I have been unable to get the connecting rod bearings inspected per the Honda safety recall notice. I contacted the Honda dealer in January of 2025 to have the bearings inspected, as well as to have the fuel pump replaced (also under recall). I wanted them both done at the same time. I set up an appointment for May 21st of 2025, because that date was the first mutually available date for the dealer and me. Later in the day, on May 21st, I got a call from the service department that my fuel pump was done, but they did not do the bearing inspection. I went to pick up the vehicle at the dealership only to find that the check engine light was on, so I had to leave the vehicle overnight so that the check engine light problem could be corrected. It was then that I was told that they could not do the connecting rod bearing inspection because the procedure requires a "special tool" and Honda had to send it to them. I find this strange because of the number of months that went by, from when I first contacted the dealership until the appointment date, and I thought that they would have been better prepared to complete the work. I was also informed by Honda that all of the parts necessary to do the bearing inspection were available. I received that notification on September 4th of 2024. I also find it strange that, out of nearly 250,000 affected vehicles, I am the first to request this service at this dealership. I was not told how long it would be until the dealership service department would receive the tool. In the recall notice from Honda, a connecting rod failure could potentially result in "...a fire, crash, or injury". That's the risk. I was told by Honda to continue driving the vehicle if I was not having any symptoms of failure. I have had no indications, but I would like to have this recall taken care of as soon as possible. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | I was driving the van and all this warnings came on my dashboard. ACC Adaptive cruis control problem, Lane keeping assist problem, collision mittigation problem. Road departure mittigation problem. All they come one after eachother on my dashboard. I did some research and a lot of vans 2019 have the sa e issues. My friend van same problem she payed 1900 to replace the camera. This is a safety issue and it cost a lot to replace. It cannot be deactivated. I hope it will be a recall issued for this model. I have 3 minivans honda. I never had an issue with thjs brand . The new one is terrible.... Thank you. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | My 2019 Honda Odyssey’s power liftgate control model failed due to water intrusion. My liftgate started to open and close while I was driving, would close on me while loading/unloading the trunk, and would also open while parked in parking lots nearly hitting passing vehicles. It is truly a huge safety concern. Once the old module was out, I found extensive corrosion and rust on the module and its housing. As well, the entire bracket inside of the vehicle is rusted. There appears to be a defect in the manufacturers body seams that is allowing water to enter. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
