Dec 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER When I go to accelerate I lose power and am unable to accelerate a lot of the times. The problem is intermittent and the sales people at Nissan dealership where I bought it from can't duplicate is. I've been mentioning this issue since I purchased the vehicle. Yesterday while driving the vehicle there was a loud bang noise and I lost ALL power driving 65 mph down Parmer lane. I had to coast and make a uturn at which point some power was regained. Multiple other times while driving to the dealership the same thing happened while trying to go across traffic. It was amazing nothing happened to us. I took it to the dealership and they acknowledged there's a major lawsuit right now for that vehicle but when Honda pulls up the VIN it doesn't show my vehicle is affected.

Oct 2021 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Our car has failed to start 3 times in one week. Our battery has been throughly inspected and nothing appears to be wrong with it. We have jump-started our car in July, and twice this week. (Once yesterday and once today.) We are not sure why this is the case.

Oct 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER There is a crackling sound coming from the dashboard. There was a recall regarding this issue, however, I took the car into have this recall fixed. The issue has persisted even after the recall fix. I took the car into the dealership 4 times since and the issue still has not been fixed. I started contacting Honda three weeks ago regarding this issue. I have left five messages with the case manager, but have not had my phone call returned. I asked for another case manager, but was refused one. The case number is 1252 9330. The phone number for Honda is 800-999-1009. The case manager's name is Corey. I don't know what to do at this time so I am contacting the NTSB for your assistance. Thank you.

Sep 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER AC stops working when in slow traffic and outside is over 90 deg. This is a safety issue because it’s unsafe to drive a vehicle when the inside gets too hot. This is especially dangerous for when a baby is on board. Also the transmission is poor. It lags when I step on the pebble sometimes. This is dangerous when I try to make an unprotected left turn and the car won’t go forward. That means my timing for the turn is thrown off by a couple of seconds which could make a safe turn much more dangerous.

Sep 2021 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate and would stall on occasion. While driving, several messages regarding the braking system, emission, steering, and the engine were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the fuel injectors, and flushed and reprogrammed the transmission module however, the failure recurred. The dealer later advised that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 3,000.

Aug 2021 ENGINE The vehicle hesitates. It chokes so badly that it is a danger to drive. I do not know if this is a result of the new transmission type or a problem with the engine. I suspect that the problem is related to the transmission because of how you reach the point where it chokes. Plus the two dealers it was sent to for repair hinted to me that the issue is the new style transmission. Here's one typical example. Sitting at an intersection waiting to turn left. If I take my foot off the brake and apply my foot to the gas pedal without hesitation it typically works fine. However, if I touch the gas, back off the pedal then hit the gas pedal again, I'm left in the intersection not moving for a few seconds. This has become critically dangerous. I have taken my vehicle to two Honda dealers within the first 10,000 miles. I explained the problem and both dealers said the exact same thing. "Yes, we hear this from all the customers with that transmission. It's normal and nothing can be done to correct it." They did nothing further for it. Since the dealer made no diagnosis of it the manufacturer will not address it. I experienced this issue from the very first day of ownership and there are no warnings.

Aug 2021 POWER TRAIN The Emission Control System error keeps coming on and going off. This time (08/22/21) van stopped while I was driving it. The Honda Darcars in Bowie, MD has stated they will not look at the van and they can't diagnosis the problem without the system error being displayed on the van when it is brought in for service. No, the van has not been inspected yet. The Emission Control System error light comes and has come on several times, but it keeps going back off. As, mentioned before the Honda Darcars in Bowie, MD has previously stated they will not look at the van. I've contacted the Honda Corporation prior to this incident to complain about the dealer not wanting to look at the van.

Aug 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER As I was driving I all of sudden heard a loud bang and the sunroof/moon roof whatever it is called exploded , glass had shattered for no reason at all. I was less than 2 miles from my house when it happened, I pulled over saw the glass was broken, then came home, tried to cover with plastic as rain was coming, then I took it to the local Honda dealer as our weather forecast calls for rain , they said it is probably not covered under warranty- but it has to be as sunroofs should not explode while driving

Aug 2021 Chest Clip, Buckle, Harness We were leaving a car dealership to head home, my husband put our toddler in his car seat and after doing the pinch test, pulled on the chest buckle to make sure it was tight enough. When he pulled the chest buckle, it loosened both harness belts. We attempted the same scenario over 20 times and each time you could pull on the chest clip and retract both harness belts. Without pushing the button to retract. Nothing is stuck in the car seat as our child doesn't eat or drink in his seat. We uninstalled and reinstalled, opened the seat, etc and there is no issue that we could correct. Our son's life was in danger driving home last night. If we were to have gotten in an accident, the force of the crash would have jolted his body forward and loosened the harness.

Jul 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Power sliding door on the right has failed to close. It will close almost all the way and the re-open back up. It has to be closed manually. The problem has been reported and fixed altogether 4 times but the problem has never been resolved. The service dates were 1) Jan 15, 2020 2) July 7, 2020 3) May 13, 2021 and 4) July 21, 2021. It would work once or twice after fixing and go back to the malfunction stage. We need to use the car and are not able to take it back every time it happens. Jul 2021 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I am reporting a very strange occurrence with my 2019 Honda Odyssey mini-van. I was driving on Tuesday evening and it was very foggy and I was approaching one of those large metal plates they put over a trench they dig in the road when they do construction (it covers the trench) and my car started flashing "brake" like it does sometimes when it thinks a car is in front of it. Typically, this flashes occasionally when a car gets too close, but then goes away as long as the car moves out of the way. This time, there was no car, just an open foggy road and this large metal plate on the road. However, as I got closer to the metal plate, suddenly my brakes fully locked up and the vehicle went into an emergency full stop. I was pushing on the accelerator but it would not go and the vehicle came to a complete and sudden stop. Thankfully no one was behind me, or I would have gotten into an accident. Then the vehicle started to move again and has been totally fine since. But, what is this all about? It seems the emergency braking mode kicked in but it should not have, the road was wide open and the only thing unusual was a large metal plate covering some hole in the road.

Jun 2021 POWER TRAIN Our 2019 Honda Odyssey transmission failed while driving my kids in early 2020. The minivan was towed to Grappone Honda in Concord, NH and the transmission was replaced. The new transmission now jerks and stutters particularly at low speeds (20-40 MPH). I am afraid it is going to fail again and place me or my family at risk for being in an accident. I took the minivan in for service on January 6th of this year and was told that the transmission was working fine. This transmission is clearly not working correctly and I am concerned we will be in an accident.

May 2021 SERVICE BRAKES I had new brakes put on my car my brakes for less 12,000 miles ago. I took my car back in today my front left brake is cracked and the caliper was blue indicating it was getting extremely hot. I have taken my vehicle in three times for an issue with the radio because I can hear others talking but they cannot hear me. The radio has not work since I bought the car. Also, there are times when I push the gas that the car stalls for a few seconds I am very dissatisfied with the price I paid for this car and all the issues I’ve had

May 2021 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE AUTO EMERGENCY BREAKING: Vehicle OFTEN engages emergency breaking at highway speeds when a vehicle is slightly ahead, in a different lane, and brakes while exiting the highway, and there is no danger or no vehicles directly in front of this vehicle. Other vehicles following behind me have to manually (or automatically as well) brake accordingly and this creates both a nuisance and dangerous situation. Speed Control / Transmission: Vehicle has moved forward while in "Reverse", often "surges" in speed while for a brief moment while shifting, has moved/lurched when starting the engine. THe instance of moving forward while in reverse caused a near miss in hitting another vehicle. The surging, in particular on downhills, causes the vehicle to accelerate slightly.

May 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION 2019 ODYSSEY REVERSE CAMERA HAS FAILED MULTIPLE TIMES. SOMETIMES WILL WORK ON NEXT VEHICLE START, SOMETIMES IT TAKES A FEW DAYS. REPORTED TO HONDA DEALER PRIOR TO RECALL IN JUNE 2020. HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 11 MONTHS FOR RECALL REPLACEMENT PART AND I AM TOLD OVER AND OVER THAT REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ETA IS AVAILABLE. ALSO HAVE TROUBLE WITH CROSS TRAFFIC SENSORS, DEALER UNABLE TO TELL ME IF THIS RELATED.

May 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER THE SCREEN ON MY VEHICLE GOES BLACK AND SHOWS "NETWORK COMMUNICATION LOST" AT RANDOM. THE SPEAKERS START MAKING A CRACKLING AND STATIC SOUND AT RANDOM AS WELL. THE SYSTEM WILL REBOOT OVER AND OVER. YOU CANNOT USE THE REARVIEW BACKUP CAMERA DURING THIS REBOOTING AND TURNING THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF DOES NOT MAKE IT START WORKING AGAIN.

IN THE SECOND PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED, A WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON AND OFF (TOO QUICKLY TO DETERMINE WHAT IT SAID) AND THEN THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL ON IT'S OWN. Apr 2021 POWER TRAIN TRANSMISSION IS SLOW TO GET INTO FIRST GEAR. THERE IS A NOTICEABLE AND SIGNIFICANT DELAY WHEN GOING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND PRESSING THE GAS TO GO QUICKLY. THIS OCCURS MORE FREQUENTLY BEFORE THE ENGINE WARMS UP. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY ITS JUST HOW THE TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW AND HAS PERSISTED TIL NOW WITH THOUSANDS OF MILES ON THE VAN.
