May 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM We bought the van used. We were on a road trip and the speakers started crackling and popping. Also the audio will just cut off completely and can be fixed by turning off the power to the audio and turning it back on quick. It will work for a little bit but will cut out again. We tried different devices and different cords for the problem but it hasn't fixed the issue.

May 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My 2019 Honda Odyssey regularly hesitates from the stopped position or when quick acceleration is needed on the highway. This causes a safety hazard when making turns into traffic because I am not able to accelerate for approximately 1 second before I am able to increase speed. It is a known mechanical defect with Honda and they do not currently have a resolution. I reported this problem to my dealership and was told that this is "just how the Honda 9-speed transmissions are designed" and there is no fix. Not only does this cause performance issues, there have been several close calls when I have made a turn into traffic and when I have had to accelerate to make a lane change on the freeway.

Apr 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER On February 1, 2023, I broke the side view mirror off the passenger side door while backing into my parents driveway (the mirror hit a bush on the side of their house). Called Honda dealership and ordered (and paid for) replacement part on Feb 2, 2023 - was told the part should be in within a few weeks. By approximately February 20th, the part was still not in, and the dealer had no ETA. So I opened an inquiry with Honda. On/around February 27th, I was told by my customer service rep Nikki that my part was upgraded to critical backorder, but that there was still no ETA. However, I was #6 in the queue to receive the part. Case number is 13648719. Called Honda multiple times over the next few weeks, eventually being told on/around March 5th, that the part was 'released' to the dealership on March 3. On March 14th, I called the dealership and demanded my money back on the part, until it arrived. Dealership agreed. Honda never was able to determine what happened with the part, because as I was told 'there's a global parts shortage, and it's the suppliers responsibility for the part, not Honda's'. In late March, was told that Honda would follow up via email weekly on part updates. I have received 3 emails so far from Honda simply stating that the part was still on backorder, and there is no ETA. All the while, my wife has been driving around with a duct taped on mirror, not angled in the best position for viewing. This is not an old vehicle, getting a part should not take 3+ months

Apr 2023 POWER TRAIN driving at slow speeds through a neighborhood (20-25mph), my car seemed like it tried to change gears and it downshifted and lurched us forward. it was as if i slammed on the brakes almost causing us to get rear ended. this lurching has happened many times and is now an unavoidable event. From my research this is a common problem!

Apr 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Our approximately 50,000 mile Odyssey died while driving on Mar 25, 2023. Thankfully the vehicle was only going about 10 MPH as I was pulling up to a stop sign. First failure notice was “emissions system problem” and then every error available to the system flashed after that. Would not restart. Towed to dealer and found no fuel pressure and fuel pump failure. I was never given notice of the fuel pump recall and this website says all my recalls are complete. Clearly there was an issue with the fuel pump. The replacement fuel pump is on back order with no ETA for availability. Vehicle has sat at the dealer for 4 weeks with no estimate for when it will be available for us. I speculate that Honda hasn’t told everyone about the fuel pump recall in the hopes that the pumps don’t disintegrate in the tanks while driving because they mismanaged their supply chain. Could be months before a “like-new” vehicle is drivable again.

Apr 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Noticed that a check brake system light came on briefly and then when I stopped at a traffic light, the engine shut down as it is supposed to, but when I lifted my foot off the brake, the car didn't restart and I was stranded in the lane (busy road). Pressed the Engine button, but it wouldn't restart. After about 5 minutes (while I called AAA) I tried again and it restarted. Very dangerous - I see multiple other people had the same experience. AAA came to my house and the battery, alternator, and starter all tested good.

Mar 2023 POWER TRAIN Has known, but unresolved, 9-speed transmission problem. Occasionally, unexpectedly on take-off engine revs up before engaging first gear resulting in tire squeal and leap forward. This could, and probably will, result in a collision with car in front at stop signs for i.e.!!!! Please hold Honda responsible for resolving this dangerous situation. Keep me posted of any corrective actions, recalls, notifications, etc. Thank you very much.

Mar 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The dealership discovered a short in the electrical harness tha controlled the radio and navagation system. I was concerned about a fire. Obviously a problem from installation. This problem cost me over $2200 to replace the hardness. I purchaced the van with the problem over a month ago.

Feb 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM: vehicle hesitates at times when stepping on gas pedal and then just blasts off. Feb 2023 SEAT BELTS False seatbelt latching during cold weather. I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. When the weather is cold, I will buckle up,hear an audible click, and tug on the seatbelt, but every so often it will become unlatched as I am driving (2-3 times per week.) Seems ok once vehicle warms up and in warmer weather.

Jan 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Several times when I ja e pushed the gas to try and hurry to go the van will stall and won't go almost cause me to get in an accident each time. The last time(1/16) I actually had passengers in my van and it scared the crap out of them and me. It seems like when I punch the gas pedal it isn't getting the gas to go right away. I had it checked out at a Honda dealership but they said the van didn't do what I was explaining. It doesn't do it all the time, however if it wasn't for the grace of God and me having a quick reaction to hit my brake after the van hesitates to go, I and some other people either wouldn't be alive right now or would be severely injured.

Jan 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The rear view camera sometimes stops working when backing up. Even if you go in park and go to hit reverse button again to "reset" it will still be a black screen. In a van, its difficult already driving a larger vehicle and adding the fact that you can't see when backing out of a spot or when going out of a drive way or even into a driveway, increases room for error or injury. This has been an issue over the past couple years and my Honda dealership has said there is a delay in the part but that it has been "ordered" for a long time now. Last time they "re ordered" was October 2022. I checked on part again while at the dealership January 2023 and it has still "not arrived" so they are unable to fix it. No warnings appeared on the vehicle just a black screen. They did a "factory reset" when I took it in January to reset other delay features with the screen and issues with the sound. I explained that there is a recall on rear view camera and a warranty for 5 years or 60k miles (whichever comes first) for the audio. I am at 56k miles, and they said to "watch it" to see if it does it again. Unacceptable.

Jan 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The low pressure fuel pump has failed. Honda has issued recall #21V215000 in March of 2021 regarding this issue on almost a million vehicles. My vehicle has failed, leaving me without transportation in the winter. Thankfully the car just failed to restart and I wasn't in traffic but this could absolutely happen to others (as described in the recall) so it is apparent that Honda was not genuine in their attempt to fix this problem as there are obviously other models in the year & model range they recalled that are being exempted from the recall that are destined to fail.

Jan 2023 SEAT BELTS The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the driver's side third-row seat belt had detached; however, the buckle was still intact. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Dec 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I have a CMBS issue. Nothing around that would trigger it just driving through an intersection and the CMBS came on and basically just stopped the car for no reason. I get these "BRAKE" messages mostly when the car in front of me is turning right and the Odyssey doesn't think I slow down enough. I know the car is turning, the Odyssey doesn't. I've also had it come up a couple times while going around a curve, I think it detected the oncoming traffic as being in my lane and it told me to "BRAKE". I have video files to prove from my dash cams but I could not upload these files here. Honda dealer misdiagnosed to replace power distribution module but it did not fixed and I found other Honda vehicles has the same CMBS issue. Hoping you got some resolution. Thanks.

Dec 2022 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that she was involved in an accident and that the grille shutter malfunction warning alarm and "power down" message were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic shop, where it was diagnosed that the distance calibration sensor needed to be replaced and that the vehicle was inoperable. The vehicle remained at the mechanic's shop awaiting the parts for the repair, which were on backorder. The contact made a local dealer aware of the failure and was advised to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.
