Aug 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM after driving for about an hour, then making a brief (10min) stop at the store, car would crank but not start. After allowing car to cool for ~2 hours, car started fine. Seems to be a fuel pump issue. concerned with future loss of power. car is 5 years old with ~50k miles

Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Aug 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The multi-information display screen in the instrument cluster continues to malfunction constantly. The screen will either flicker and go in and out or not display entirely. The screen outage can last long periods of time, sometimes weeks before displaying properly again. The following important information can not be retrieved including the odometer, fuel gauge, Engine oil life, and clock among others. The issue began in 2022 (two years into the vehicle's life) and has been a constant issue to the present time. The dealership admitted this was a common problem in certain Honda vehicles but didn't offer a fix other than replacing the entire instrument cluster with no guarantee that the problem would return.
Incident: Jul 2022
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The car does not have pickup when attempting to accelerate. Driver must drop the gear down to try and force acceleration. Vehicle was taken to dealership and dealer wanted to charge to diagnose the problem. When it was stated that symptoms mimic those outlined in recall, dealer stated they still need to diagnose to see if the repair is needed. After checking dealer claims debris was blocking the pedal and the problem is not related to recall. However, the pedal was clear of any debris and still drives with loss of power when trying to accelerate.

Jul 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Vehicle gives false brake alert with no obstacle ahead causing car to suddenly brake. This happens multiple times and regularly.

Jul 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The gauge cluster display will go in and out. There is apparently a faulty solder joint that gets affected in cold weather and until the car is warmed up the gauge cluster stays blank. I was informed that I need a new one at the cost of $1800+ for a 2019 HRV with 24000 miles. It seems very wrong that this part has failed.

Jul 2024 LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The road assist / warning systems on dashboard malfunctioned, suddenly turning on and off, all at once. This caused A safety risk, by a startling distraction while driving, and worrisome stress while the car was at rest. The the problem was reproduced or confirmed by a dealer service rep who stated the car was unsafe to drive. They witnessed all warning lights, messages flashing on and off. This malfunction occurred, June 19-20, 2024. In retrospect, the break warning light would flash on for no reason and slightly break, or engine would stall or lose velocity while driving. The car is currently being serviced by the dealership. Their assessment is the front camera needs replaced. This car is under the warranty for mileage (not driven much during the pandemic), but due to the year, it is outside of warrenty. Obviously, the cause is not wear and tear, but a faulty camera. This is concerning, given the safety issue , should this be cause for a recall and repairs, including replacement part and services, the responsibility of the Honda company and not the car owner/driver.

Jul 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Odometer/fuel gauge goes black and shows nothing on it. Has caused risk because I can not see how much gas I have and have to wait till the gas light turns on. It does it when it gets below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I am unable to see my mileage, the temperature, level of gas I have, the time, etc. It will go back on when it is warmer out but will not when it gets cooler.

Jun 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Dash guage cluster randomly stops working or appears as scrabble. Includes fuel level, odometer, Trip meter, and all extraneous vehicle info. Could result in running out of gas at speed since no info is available. This is very unsafe and I am traveling to Florida as I type this.

Jun 2024 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I recently had my car repaired for the recall and a brake job (replacing pads and resurfacing rotors). A couple of days later, I was driving on the highway at about 60mph. Suddenly, the check engine light, parking brake light, brake light, and brake system light all went on. Additionally, the car was flashing neutral, drive, and parking gears while I was in park and driving. I started to slow down and realized that as my speed got slower, each new low speed became the highest speed I could go - pressing the gas with my foot did not increase the speed. As such, I drove to a nearby garage where the lights were reset. No mechanical issues were found with the car, nor was there a warning. I then called the dealership that had performed the service (DCH Paramus Honda in New Jersey) and I was informed that it was unlikely they would be able to diagnose any issues as the lights had been reset so the car was driveable. It seemed very dangerous that these issues could happen at any time. The brake system was put in maintenance mode during my brake job, so I suspect this was a computer issue rather than a mechanical problem.

Jun 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM A dash light indicator came on in my car. The image was not in any of the materials that came with the car. At that time the LCD information on the dash flickered and went out. I cannot see how much gas I have, when I need an oil change, odometers etc. I also seem to have decreased power when I attempt to accelerate . I am also aware of 2 recalls that came out in 2021 and 2023. I had the code read and it indicated an "Evaporative System Leak Detection". As of 5/14/2024 I had 15,828 miles on the car, in about 5 years so it should not be failing. I recently got a new job and am required to commute 50 miles each way. I am so terrified because I have tried the 2 nearest dealers in my area (Union Park Honda in Wilm. DE and Honda of Springfield PA). I have received zero consideration. I have had my car scheduled to go in and I HAVE to call them as I need a loaner. I NEVER move up on the list and then I am treated like I did not show up (I call the day before). When I was young I had anxiety and could not drive. I worked and pushed myself to be able to drive again and I have been for years. These issues are starting to make me more fearful and anxious. I actually asked the CS rep "Jade" where the car was manufactured ( Japan, Korea?) and if I should DRIVE MY CAR TO JAPAN for service. Her exact words were "That is up to you". Unbelievable.

May 2024 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM When pushing on the gas pedal, the vehicle often pushes forward aggressively and shifts very hard. Other times it does nothing when pushing on the gas and several seconds later there is throttling and intermittent shaking back and forth. It does not happen all the time, but happens quite often. I fear the vehicle could propel forward when I am driving and hit someone or something or it could slow suddenly with lack of gas putting other drivers in harm's way. I know there is a similar recall on fuel pumps with this vehicles and my vehicle is within the years and types so I do not understand why my vehicle has not been recalled. No warning lights come on and I cannot have someone look at it without having to pay a large fee. I had an appointment in the past, but it does not do it al the time and they tell me they can't help me if it doesn't do it all the time. Thank you.

May 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Right directional/turn signal gets stuck on. Returning it to the neutral/central position does not turn the signal off. The only thing that will turn the turn signal off is to power off the vehicle or pull back on the directional lever which engages the high beams. The issue is intermittent.

May 2024 POWER TRAIN Transmission needs to be replaced, I was driving on the highway then pulled off to exit, when I got to the end of the exit ramp the car crunched and clunked when I tried to step on the gas. I rolled into a parking lot across the street. Had it happened a minute earlier I would have crashed on the highway due to the transmission failure. Honda service says it’s metal shavings in the transmission. It’s related to the recent software issue but because my car is over the extended warranty of 7 years or 150,000 miles they do t want to cover the cost, or help me with getting into a new car. I still owe over $6,000 on it.

May 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The digital gauge on this vehicle has intermittent faults. The gauge goes totally blank, sometimes the digits appear scrambled, other times not at all. This gauge includes odometer as well as the fuel gauge, (and other analytical information that is perhaps not as critical). The lack of a reliable working fuel gauge on this vehicle is concerning and may cause driver to unknowingly run out of fuel in places that are totally unsafe - highway, bridge, or some remote location. Another concern is that if the odometer is not working, not accumulating miles, how does a buyer know what she/he is buying? Is the vehicle mileage accurately reflecting the miles on this car? Checking on this on-line I discovered that this is not an isolated problem, and that NHTSA may not be aware of this as car owners may not be reporting this as a safety issue. I also discovered that some Honda dealers have addressed this problem, while others push-back on this and want owners to pay for this repair. I purchased my vehicle three months ago, from a private owner. I was not informed of this problem at time of purchase. I did bring this to Honda's attention and was told to bring it in for service, at my own expense.

Mar 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The dial where the gas milage, temperature and other information is displayed does not come on at all times. The car is started, the display is blank or the radio screen does not work. I sometimes restart the car-up to 3 times to have the dial come on. This has happened a half a dozen times in the last 5 months. the car is parked overnight and this happens when the car is started the next day. the weather has been very cold (30s/40s) or warm temperatures (62/70). I have spoken with two different Honda dealer employees about this issue. They both said that unless this is happening in real time, any Honda dealer could not help me because their testing would not be accurate if they check the car after it happens. I do not know if it is a loose wire, a battery issue or if the digital panel needs to be replaced. I can not get an answer without a paid service call.
